[0002] Intubation is a medical procedure that involves inserting an intubation tube into a patient's trachea. The introduction of this tube allows both mechanical ventilation and the administration of medication through the lungs.

[0030] One of the objectives of the present invention is to provide an intubation device which helps reduce or even eliminate the risk of dental breakage during intubation.

[0071] As a reminder, one of the objectives of the present invention is to provide practitioners in charge of laryngoscopy with a tool that is simple to manufacture, easy to use, does not modify the practices and actions of the practitioner and which makes it possible to reduce or even eliminate the risks of dental breakage during intubation.

Single-use protective device (200) intended to be positioned removably on an upper face (133) of an intubation blade (1) to come into contact in particular with the upper incisors (I) of a patient during intubation, said protective device (200) comprising an elongated tongue (201) whose internal face (201a) is configured to match the shape of the upper face (133) of said blade (1) and whose external face (201b) intended to be in contact with the upper incisors (I) of said patient is made of a shock-absorbing material, so that, during intubation, the protective device (200) at least partially covers the upper face (133) of the blade (1) and constitutes a shock absorber between the blade (1) and the upper incisors (I) of the patient.

3. Device (200) according to claim 1, in which the tongue (201) is of the gutter type and has over its entire length a substantially U-shaped cross-section.

9. Device (200) according to any one of the preceding claims, is made of a damping material having a hardness coefficient lower than that of the upper face (133) of the blade (1).
