Secure sharing of identity verification information

Abstract

A first user device is used to request the provisioning of a secure credential on a second user device. The process includes: in response to an initial selection, on the first user device, of a provisioning target to provision a provisioning item, requesting a provisioning certificate from a provisioning system, the provisioning target comprising the second user device; receiving, from the provisioning system, a nonce and the provisioning certificate; generating an encrypted target provisioning package, using the provisioning certificate and the nonce; and issuing the encrypted target provisioning package, to enable the provisioning of the provisioning item on the provisioning target.
