Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: The floral coffin cover, an aesthetic and spiritual solution for complete support during funeral services. TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] This invention belongs to the field of funeral articles and relates to a floral coffin cover specially designed to fit over the top of the coffin and accompany the various stages of the funeral, including burial and cremation. It combines aesthetic and spiritual aspects while meeting the technical and environmental requirements of contemporary practices. TECHNOLOGICAL BACKGROUND
[0002] In the field of funeral services, floral arrangements are a central element of the ceremonies, symbolizing tribute and the spiritual connection with the deceased. Currently, floral arrangements are generally placed around the coffin or in the form of bouquets laid nearby. However, whether for cremation or burial, these flowers are systematically removed before the final stages.
[0003] During cremation, current floral arrangements pose technical problems due to the presence of non-combustible materials (metals, plastics), which are incompatible with the requirements of crematorium furnaces. In the case of burial, flowers are generally not buried with the coffin, depriving families of a complete final floral tribute.
[0004] Existing solutions do not allow for the full integration of floral decorations throughout the entire funeral service, whether for burial or cremation. Furthermore, current floral arrangements do not meet increasing environmental constraints and the strict requirements of crematoriums, particularly in terms of waste production and polluting emissions.
[0005] Technical problem posed:
[0006] For cremation: Incompatibility of traditional floral arrangements due to the materials used, generating non-combustible residues or polluting emissions, and requiring their removal before cremation.
[0007] For burial: Flowers are removed for practical, logistical or aesthetic reasons, limiting their role of symbolic accompaniment until the burial.
[0008] Absence of integrated solutions to ensure continuous floral support throughout the funeral, from the ceremony to cremation or burial.
[0009] Lack of environmental compatibility: Current compositions do not sufficiently integrate growing ecological issues, such as biodegradability or the absence of polluting residues. Summary of the invention
[0010] The present invention is primarily aimed at overcoming the shortcomings and limitations identified in the prior art.
[0011] The proposed invention addresses these issues by introducing an integrated floral coffin cover, specifically designed to adapt to the constraints of crematoriums and burials. This coffin cover preserves the floral symbolism throughout the funeral service, thus offering a technical, ecological, and emotional solution that meets the expectations of families and modern standards.
[0012] The invention relates to an integrated floral coffin cover, designed to fit directly over a coffin, particularly those of the Parisian or tomb type. The floral coffin cover is made from natural wood, a 100% ecological and untreated material, ensuring perfect compatibility with cremation processes.
[0013] Furthermore, the surface of the coffin cover is specially designed to accommodate floral decorations, with compatible attachments made of biodegradable materials, thus facilitating the integration of flowers. This crafted wooden panel is designed to hold natural floral decorations, thereby aesthetically and symbolically accompanying the deceased until cremation or burial.
[0014] The coffin cover is designed to incorporate natural flowers for the funeral, but a version for in-store display uses preserved flowers, which ensures durability and a prolonged aesthetic presentation.
[0015] Its hexagonal, diamond-shaped design is specifically designed to fit the contours of Parisian coffins and tombs, meeting traditional standards in the funeral industry. This shape ensures an optimal fit and aesthetic continuity. This support can be screwed or glued directly onto the top of the coffin, ensuring quick and secure installation and preventing any accidental movement, even during transport or handling.
[0016] This invention also aims to soften the visual appearance of the coffin, often perceived as a strong and striking element that can evoke intense emotions in some people. By adding a floral and soothing touch, it helps to lessen the emotional impact while offering a gentler, more comforting tribute.
[0017] The entire unit is designed using eco-design principles, with fully biodegradable materials. This allows for clean cremation, without the production of toxic waste, or harmonious natural decomposition during burial, while respecting current environmental standards. This combination of practicality, aesthetics, and durability makes it an innovative solution adapted to evolving funeral practices while preserving local traditions.
[0018] The coffin cover according to the invention may further comprise one or more of the following features, which may be combined with each other: • The floral coffin cover may include an untreated natural wood board with raised edges, all of which can be adapted for attachment to the top of a coffin, and may include biodegradable fasteners to hold floral arrangements. • The natural wood board can have a length between 160 cm and 170 cm, a width between 11 and 35 cm, and a thickness between 0.5 and 5 cm, allowing compatibility with coffins of various types while maintaining optimal resistance and ease of adaptation. • The floral coffin cover can have 6 sides, a shape that can be inspired by the shape of a Parisian coffin, allowing adaptation to various types of coffins and facilitating its installation. • The raised edges of the board, measuring between 2 and 6 cm in width, can be made of biodegradable natural wood like the board and can be screwed, stapled or glued to the base, all of which can guarantee compatibility with cremation and burial processes without producing polluting residues. • The floral coffin cover can be designed to accommodate floral arrangements and therefore may include biodegradable foam supports to keep the flowers stable throughout the funeral. • The model intended for in-store display may use preserved flowers to ensure their durability and maintain an aesthetic appearance over time, without requiring replacement. • The process of manufacturing a floral coffin cover may include cutting a board of natural wood and fitting it to the hexagonal diamond shape to fit a coffin of 175cm, 185cm or even 195cm, of Parisian or tomb shape. • The wooden board can be untreated, varnished or unvarnished and biodegradable, and can thus guarantee use in accordance with environmental standards during funerals. DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0019] The invention will be better understood and other features and advantages will become more apparent upon reading the description given below by way of purely illustrative and non-limiting examples, with reference to the accompanying drawings in which • Figs.1 and [Fig.2] present a floral coffin cover according to the invention, shown successively in top view and side view. • Fig. 3 presents in perspective view the process of integrating a floral coffin cover into the base of a Parisian coffin, according to the invention. • Figure 4 shows a floral coffin cover integrated on a Parisian-style coffin according to the invention.
[0020] DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
[0021] Figure 1 shows the main board according to the invention, made of untreated natural wood, carefully cut to fit the shape of a Parisian-type coffin. It is lozenge-shaped, characterized by a maximum width along the transverse axis 1 between 30 and 35 cm and ideally approximately 32 to 33 cm at the center. The width at the upper end 2 is between 16 and 21 cm and ideally approximately 18 to 19 cm. The width at the lower end 3 is between 11 and 16 cm and ideally approximately 13 to 14 cm.
[0022] Its total length 4 is approximately 162 to 167 cm and ideally approximately 165 to 166 cm, which ensures balanced coverage adapted to the standard size of coffins. The thickness of the board is approximately 0.5 to 2 cm, which provides a solid base while minimizing the overall weight of the coffin cover.
[0023] The board 5 is edged with borders 6 of varnished or unvarnished natural wood, which extend between 2.5 and 5 cm above the base surface and can be between 2 and 6 cm wide around the entire perimeter of the natural wood board. The borders of the coffin cover can be attached to the board 5 by two main methods. The first consists of a conventional screw system, allowing for a robust and removable attachment. The second method uses a suitable wood glue, ensuring a uniform and aesthetically pleasing assembly without visible perforations.
[0024] These borders 6 are designed to fulfill two essential functions. First, they form a frame to hold and contain the floral foam used to secure the floral arrangements. Second, they play an aesthetic role by adding a dimension of depth and enhancing the impression visual of an additional tier when the casket cover is placed over the casket.
[0025] The floral coffin cover is designed to be positioned directly in the center of the coffin's top lid. Thanks to its precise dimensions and hexagonal rhombus shape, it rests stably with a simple fastening system 7 that is incorporated into the various parts of the coffin cover. Once installed, the coffin cover gives the impression of a second tier, accentuating the visual and spiritual significance of the floral tribute.
[0026] This aesthetic elevation is enhanced by the raised borders and the arrangement of the floral ornaments, which create an elegant and unique visual effect. The whole is designed to integrate perfectly with the aesthetic and practical standards of funeral ceremonies.
[0027] The frame formed by the raised edges is designed to hold floral foam, into which the floral arrangements are inserted. This system allows the use of natural flowers, preferred for funeral ceremonies, or preserved flowers, suitable for in-store display models. This modularity in the use of flowers ensures functional versatility and adaptation to different contexts, while maintaining an impeccable aesthetic presentation. List of reference marks
