AI Technical Summary
Top-emission OLED display panels have a large cathode voltage drop, resulting in poor brightness uniformity, and it is difficult to effectively reduce cathode resistance with existing technology.
By arranging a conductive connector with a partition structure, the light-emitting functional layer is cut off, and the first electrode is connected to the conductive connector, thereby realizing the connection between the first electrode and the lower component and reducing the voltage drop of the display panel.
It effectively reduces the voltage drop of the display panel and improves the display quality and brightness uniformity.
Abstract
Description
Display panel, manufacturing method thereof, and display device Technical Field
[0001] At least one embodiment of the present disclosure relates to a display panel, a manufacturing method thereof, and a display device. Background Art
[0002] Top-emitting organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display products emit light from the cathode, so the cathode needs to be made very thin to achieve high transmittance. However, when the cathode becomes thinner, the resistance of the cathode increases, resulting in a larger cathode voltage drop, causing the brightness uniformity of the final display panel to be poor.
[0003] Summary of the Invention
[0004] Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a display panel, a method for manufacturing the same, and a display device. The display panel utilizes a conductive connector with a partition structure to cut off the light-emitting functional layer, allowing a first electrode to connect to the conductive connector. This allows the first electrode to be connected to underlying components via the conductive connector, thereby reducing the voltage drop across the first electrode of the display panel and improving display quality.
[0005] At least one embodiment of the present disclosure provides a display panel, comprising: a base substrate; a conductive connector located on the base substrate, the conductive connector including a partition structure; a light-emitting functional layer located on a side of the conductive connector away from the base substrate and disconnected at the partition structure; a first electrode located on a side of the light-emitting functional layer away from the base substrate, and an auxiliary electrode located on a side of the conductive connector close to the base substrate, the first electrode being connected to the conductive connector at the partition structure, the first electrode being connected to the auxiliary electrode via the conductive connector, the partition structure including a groove, the angle between the orientation of the groove and the base substrate being an acute angle.
[0006] For example, the conductive connecting member includes a first connecting electrode and a second connecting electrode, the first connecting electrode is closer to the base substrate than the second connecting electrode, and the second connecting electrode has the partition structure.
[0007] For example, the first electrode contacts at least a portion of a side surface of the second connecting electrode.
[0008] For example, the orthographic projection of the first connecting electrode on the base substrate is larger than the orthographic projection of the second connecting electrode on the base substrate.
[0009] For example, the first electrode contacts a surface of the first connecting electrode facing away from the base substrate.
[0010] For example, the display panel further includes: a pixel defining pattern, which is arranged between the light-emitting functional layer and the first connecting electrode, and the pixel defining pattern includes a first opening, which exposes the partition structure on at least one side of the second connecting electrode.
[0011] For example, the pixel defining pattern also includes a first defining structure that forms at least a portion of the first opening, the orthographic projection of the first defining structure on the base substrate does not overlap with the orthographic projection of the partition structure on the base substrate, and the first defining structure is located on at least one side of the first opening.
[0012] For example, the pixel defining pattern further includes a second defining structure forming at least a portion of the first opening, the second defining structure covers the partition structure on at least one side of the second connecting electrode, and the second defining structure is located on at least one side of the first opening.
[0013] For example, the second connecting electrode includes a first connecting portion and a second connecting portion, the first connecting portion is closer to the base substrate than the second connecting portion, and a groove is formed on the side of the second connecting electrode in which the first connecting portion is concave than the second connecting portion to form the partition structure.
[0014] For example, the material of the first connection portion includes metal, and the materials of the second connection portion and the first connection electrode include conductive metal oxide.
[0015] For example, a dimension of the second connection portion protruding from the first connection portion is greater than a thickness of the light-emitting functional layer.
[0016] For example, the length of the contact portion between the first electrode and the first connecting electrode is greater than the dimension of the second connecting portion protruding from the first connecting portion.
[0017] For example, the display panel further includes a functional electrode, which is adjacent to the auxiliary electrode, and the orthographic projection of the functional electrode on the base substrate does not overlap with the orthographic projection of the auxiliary electrode on the base substrate, and the orthographic projection of the partition structure on the base substrate does not overlap with the orthographic projection of the functional electrode on the base substrate.
[0018] For example, the functional electrode is a plate of a capacitor, the functional electrode and the auxiliary electrode are located in the same layer, and the capacitor further includes another plate closer to the base substrate than the functional electrode.
[0019] For example, a dimension of the second connection portion protruding from the first connection portion is greater than or equal to a thickness of the first connection portion.
[0020] For example, the display panel further includes an insulating layer, wherein the insulating layer is located between the auxiliary electrode and the conductive connecting member, and the conductive connecting member is connected to the auxiliary electrode through a via hole penetrating the insulating layer.
[0021] For example, the insulating layer includes a passivation layer and a planarization layer, wherein the passivation layer is closer to the base substrate than the planarization layer, and the via includes a first through hole passing through the passivation layer and a second through hole passing through the planarization layer, the orthographic projection of the first through hole on the base substrate falls within the orthographic projection of the second through hole on the base substrate, and the orthographic projection of the first through hole on the base substrate falls within the orthographic projection of the auxiliary electrode on the base substrate.
[0022] For example, the insulating layer includes a slope portion forming the via hole, and the orthographic projection of the partition structure on the base substrate is located within the orthographic projection of the slope portion on the base substrate.
[0023] For example, the insulating layer further includes a flat portion, and the first connecting electrode extends from the slope portion to the flat portion.
[0024] For example, the slope angle of the slope portion ranges from 15 to 45 degrees.
[0025] For example, a dimension of the slope portion in the radial direction of the via hole is greater than a distance between the slope portion and the auxiliary electrode in the radial direction of the via hole.
[0026] For example, the first electrode is divided into a first conductive portion and a second conductive portion spaced apart from each other by the partition structure, and the orthographic projection of the first conductive portion on the surface of the slope portion forming the via hole overlaps with the orthographic projection of the second conductive portion on the surface of the slope portion forming the via hole.
[0027] For example, an overlapping dimension of the orthographic projections of the first conductive portion and the second conductive portion on the surface of the slope portion where the via hole is formed is smaller than a dimension of the second connecting portion protruding from the first connecting portion.
[0028] For example, an overlapping dimension of the orthographic projections of the first conductive portion and the second conductive portion on the surface of the slope portion where the via hole is formed is one third to one half of a dimension of the second connecting portion protruding from the first connecting portion.
[0029] For example, a surface of the first connecting portion close to the base substrate is conformal to a surface of the slope portion where the via hole is formed.
[0030] For example, the light-emitting functional layer is divided into a first light-emitting functional portion and a second light-emitting functional portion spaced apart from each other by the partition structure, the orthographic projection of the first light-emitting functional portion on the base substrate overlaps with the orthographic projection of the auxiliary electrode on the base substrate, and the slope angle of the slope portion is greater than the angle between a portion of the second light-emitting functional portion close to the partition structure and the first connecting electrode.
[0031] For example, the display panel also includes: a display electrode, wherein the display electrode includes a first display electrode portion, a second display electrode portion, and a third display electrode portion, the first display electrode portion and the first connecting electrode are located on the same layer, the second display electrode portion and the first connecting portion are located on the same layer, the third display electrode portion and the second connecting portion are located on the same layer, and the size of the first display electrode portion protruding from the second display electrode portion is smaller than the size of the first connecting electrode protruding from the first connecting portion.
[0032] For example, the pixel defining pattern also includes a second opening, which exposes at least a portion of the display electrode. The pixel defining pattern also includes a third defining structure surrounding the second opening, which covers the end of the display electrode, and the first electrode is continuous at the second opening.
[0033] For example, a contact surface between the slope portion and the first connecting electrode includes a smooth curved surface.
[0034] For example, the groove comprises an over-engraved hole.
[0035] An embodiment of the present disclosure further provides a display device, comprising any of the above-mentioned display panels.
[0036] An embodiment of the present disclosure also provides a method for manufacturing a display panel, including: providing a base substrate; forming an auxiliary electrode on the base substrate; forming a conductive connector on the auxiliary electrode, the conductive connector including a partition structure; forming a light-emitting functional layer on the conductive connector, the light-emitting functional layer being disconnected at the partition structure; and forming a first electrode on the light-emitting functional layer; the first electrode is connected to the conductive connector at the partition structure, the first electrode is connected to the auxiliary electrode through the conductive connector, the partition structure includes a groove, and the angle between the orientation of the groove and the base substrate is an acute angle. [0050] To make the purpose, technical solutions, and advantages of the embodiments of the present disclosure more clear, the technical solutions of the embodiments of the present disclosure will be clearly and completely described below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings of the embodiments of the present disclosure. Obviously, the described embodiments are part of the embodiments of the present disclosure, not all of the embodiments. Based on the described embodiments of the present disclosure, all other embodiments obtained by ordinary technicians in this field without creative work are within the scope of protection of the present disclosure.
[0051] Unless otherwise defined, the technical or scientific terms used in this disclosure should have the usual meanings understood by persons of ordinary skill in the field to which this disclosure belongs. Words such as "connect" or "connected" are not limited to physical or mechanical connections, but may include electrical connections, whether direct or indirect. "Up", "down", "left", "right" and the like are only used to indicate relative positional relationships. When the absolute position of the object being described changes, the relative positional relationship may also change accordingly.
[0052] Figure 1 is a schematic diagram of a display panel. As shown in Figure 1 , a cathode 0121 is disposed on a substrate 100, and cathode 0121 is disposed across the entire surface. For example, the cathode of a top-emitting organic light emitting diode (OLED) panel can be a semi-reflective, semi-transparent cathode, made of materials such as Mg / Ag. However, such a semi-reflective, semi-transparent cathode has a high resistance, a significant IR drop effect, and high power consumption. Due to the IR drop of the cathode, the brightness at the voltage input starting terminal 01 is high, while the brightness at the voltage input ending terminal 02 is low, resulting in uneven brightness and color shift at the voltage input ending terminal 02. For example, in Figure 1 , the bottom side of the display panel is the IC binding terminal (starting terminal 01), and the top side is the IC reverse terminal (ending terminal 02). Starting terminal 01 is the IC binding terminal, and ending terminal 02 is the IC reverse terminal, the terminal opposite the IC binding terminal. The problem of uneven display brightness is particularly prominent for medium and large-sized top-emitting OLED products.
[0053] In order to reduce the voltage drop, an auxiliary electrode can be made to reduce the resistance of the cathode. In order to connect the cathode and the auxiliary electrode, additional process steps are usually required, making the manufacturing process complicated.
[0054] At least one embodiment of the present disclosure provides a display panel, a method for manufacturing the same, and a display device. The display panel includes a base substrate and a conductive connector located on the base substrate, the conductive connector including a partition structure. The display panel also includes a light-emitting functional layer, a first electrode, and an auxiliary electrode. The light-emitting functional layer is located on a side of the conductive connector facing away from the base substrate and is disconnected at the partition structure. The first electrode is located on a side of the light-emitting functional layer facing away from the base substrate. The auxiliary electrode is located on a side of the conductive connector closer to the base substrate. The first electrode and the conductive connector are connected at the partition structure, and the first electrode is connected to the auxiliary electrode via the conductive connector.
[0055] The display panel provided by the embodiment of the present disclosure is provided with a conductive connector with a partition structure to cut off the light-emitting functional layer, so that the first electrode can be connected to the conductive connector, thereby realizing the connection between the first electrode and the lower component (auxiliary electrode) through the conductive connector, so as to reduce the voltage drop of the first electrode of the display panel and improve the display quality.
[0056] The display panel and its manufacturing method, as well as the display device provided by the embodiments of the present disclosure are described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0057] Figure 2 is a partial plan view of a display panel provided in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view taken along line A1-A2 of Figure 2. Figure 4 is a cross-sectional view taken along line A3-A4 of Figure 2. Figure 5 is a partial cross-sectional view of a display panel provided in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. Figure 6 is a partial cross-sectional view of a display panel provided in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0058] As shown in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4 , the display panel includes a base substrate 110 .
[0059] As shown in FIG. 2 to FIG. 6 , the display panel includes a conductive connecting member 200 , and the conductive connecting member 200 includes a partition structure 230 .
[0060] As shown in FIG3 , the display panel includes a light-emitting functional layer 300 and a first electrode 400. The light-emitting functional layer 300 is located on the side of the conductive connector 200 facing away from the base substrate 110 and is disconnected at the partition structure 230. The first electrode 400 is located on the side of the light-emitting functional layer 300 facing away from the base substrate 110. The first electrode 400 is connected to the conductive connector 200 at the partition structure 230.
[0061] The display panel provided by the embodiment of the present disclosure is provided with a conductive connector having a partition structure. The partition structure can cut off the light-emitting functional layer, so that the first electrode is connected to the conductive connector at the partition structure. This structure is cleverly designed and easy to manufacture, which is beneficial to reducing the resistance of the first electrode and improving the display quality.
[0062] As shown in FIG3 , the conductive connection member 200 includes a first connection electrode 210 and a second connection electrode 220 . The first connection electrode 210 and the second connection electrode 220 are located in the connection region 11 .
[0063] As shown in Figures 3 to 5, the first connecting electrode 210 is closer to the base substrate 110 than the second connecting electrode 220. As shown in Figure 3, the conductive connector 200 forms a partition structure 230 at the end of the second connecting electrode 220. For example, the partition structure 230 can cause the film layer formed thereafter to be disconnected at the partition structure. Figures 3 to 5 illustrate the example where the partition structure 230 is located at the outer edge of the second connecting electrode 220, but are not limited to this. In other embodiments, the conductive connector 200 may also be at the inner edge of the second connecting electrode 220. For example, the second connecting electrode 220 may be an annular structure. In this case, the partition structure 230 may be formed at both the inner and outer edges of the annular structure.
[0064] As shown in Figures 3 and 6, the second connection electrode 220 includes a first connection portion 221 and a second connection portion 222. The first connection portion 221 is closer to the base substrate 110 than the second connection portion 222. A groove 231 is formed on the side of the second connection electrode 220, where the first connection portion 221 is recessed relative to the second connection portion 222, thereby forming a partition structure 230. For example, the second connection portion 222 protrudes from the first connection portion 221 to form the partition structure 230. For example, the end of the second connection portion 222 protrudes relative to the end of the first connection portion 221 to form the partition structure 230.
[0065] For example, the etching rate of the material of the first connection portion 221 is greater than the etching rate of the material of the second connection portion 222, and the etching rate of the material of the first connection portion 221 is greater than the etching rate of the material of the first connection electrode 210. For example, the groove 231 includes an over-etched hole. The groove 231 can also be referred to as a concave structure.
[0066] For example, the material of the first connection portion 221 includes a metal, and the material of the second connection portion 222 and the first connection electrode 210 includes a conductive metal oxide. For example, the metal includes at least one of molybdenum and aluminum, and the conductive metal oxide includes indium tin oxide. Furthermore, the first connection portion 221 may also be made of other metal materials, and the second connection portion 222 may also be made of other metal oxides, and this disclosure is not limited thereto.
[0067] In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the first connecting portion 221 and the second connecting portion 222 may be made of different materials so as to have different etching rates for the same etching solution, which is conducive to forming over-etched holes. Of course, in other embodiments, the first connecting portion 221 and the second connecting portion 222 may also be made of the same material and the over-etched holes may be formed by adjusting the manufacturing process.
[0068] For example, as shown in Figures 3 to 6, the thickness of the first connecting portion 221 is greater than the thickness of the second connecting portion 222, and the thickness of the first connecting portion 221 is greater than the thickness of the first connecting electrode 210. In other words, the thickness of the first connecting portion 221 located in the middle layer is greater than the thickness of the first connecting electrode 210 and also greater than the thickness of the second connecting portion 222. Of course, the thickness of the first connecting portion 221, the thickness of the second connecting portion 222, and the thickness of the first connecting electrode 210 are not limited to the above description and can be set as needed, as long as they can isolate the light-emitting functional layer 300 and achieve connection between the first electrode 400 and the conductive connector 200.
[0069] As shown in FIG2 , the display panel includes a connection region 11 and a display region 12 . Multiple display regions 12 are arranged around a connection region 11 . Spaces are provided between the display regions 12 and the connection region 11 . Spaces are also provided between the display regions 12 . A conductive connector 200 is provided in the connection region 11 . The area outside the connection region 11 is referred to as the display region 12 .
[0070] FIG2 shows a display electrode 800. For example, the first electrode 400, the light-emitting functional layer 300, and the display electrode 800 may constitute a light-emitting element 860 (as shown in FIG12). The first electrode 400 may be the cathode of the light-emitting element 860, and the display electrode 800 may be the anode of the light-emitting element 860, but the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the display region 12 may correspond to the light-emitting region R0 of the light-emitting element.
[0071] For example, the display panel may be a top-emitting display panel. For example, the top-emitting display panel may be manufactured into a large-sized display panel.
[0072] As shown in FIG2 , the second connection electrode 220 is rectangular in shape and includes a first side S1, a second side S2, a third side S3, and a fourth side S4. The first side S1 and the third side S3 are disposed opposite each other, and the second side S2 and the fourth side S4 are disposed opposite each other. The first side S1, the second side S2, the third side S3, and the fourth side S4 are sequentially connected. For example, the first side S1, the second side S2, the third side S3, and the fourth side S4 may be referred to as the left side, the upper side, the right side, and the lower side, respectively.
[0073] As shown in Figures 3 and 4, the display panel further includes a pixel-defining pattern 500, which is disposed between the light-emitting functional layer 300 and the first connection electrode 210. The pixel-defining pattern 500 includes a first opening 511, which exposes the partition structure 230 of the second connection electrode on at least one side of the second connection electrode 220. For example, the first opening 511 exposes at least a portion of the edge of the second connection electrode 220. As shown in Figure 3, the first opening 511 can also expose at least a portion of the first connection electrode 210, allowing the first electrode 400, after being partitioned by the partition structure 230, to connect to the exposed portion of the first connection electrode 210.
[0074] For example, as shown in Figure 3, in order to facilitate the overlap between the first electrode 400 and the conductive connecting member 200, the first opening 511 exposes the partition structure 230, and the orthographic projection of the first opening 511 on the base substrate 110 does not overlap with the orthographic projection of the portion of the second connecting electrode 220 located at the partition structure 230 on the base substrate 110.
[0075] 2 and 3 , the orthographic projection of the first opening 511 on the base substrate 110 at least partially overlaps with the orthographic projection of the partition structure 230 at the edge of the second connection electrode 220 on the base substrate 110 . For example, the edge of the second connection electrode 220 refers to the boundary of the second connection electrode 220 .
[0076] For example, as shown in FIG3 , the pixel defining pattern 500 further includes a first confinement structure 510 that forms at least a portion of a first opening 511. The orthographic projection of the first confinement structure 510 on the base substrate 110 does not overlap with the orthographic projection of the partition structure 230 of the second connecting electrode 220 on the base substrate 110, thereby exposing at least a portion of the partition structure 230 in the second connecting electrode 220. The first confinement structure 510 is spaced apart from the second connecting electrode 220 and is located outside at least a portion of the edge of the second connecting electrode 220. For example, the first confinement structure 510 is located on at least one side of the first opening 511. As shown in FIG3 and FIG4 , the first opening 511 exposes at least a portion of the partition structure 230. As shown in FIG2 , the partition structure 230 in the second connecting electrode 220 is a closed figure at its boundary, illustrated as a rectangle in FIG2 . As shown in FIG3 and FIG4 , within the same first opening 511, a portion of the edge of the partition structure 230 is exposed, while another portion of the edge of the partition structure 230 is not exposed.
[0077] For example, as shown in Figure 3, at least one side of the end of the second connecting electrode 220 is exposed by the first opening 511. When the first electrode 400 is formed, the first electrode 400 may be isolated by the partition structure 230, and the first electrode 400 may contact at least one of the surface of the first connecting electrode 210 facing away from the substrate and the side surface of the second connecting electrode 220, so as to facilitate the connection between the first electrode 400 and the conductive connecting member 200, thereby reducing the contact resistance.
[0078] As shown in FIG. 3 , the first electrode 400 contacting the side surface of the second connection electrode 220 includes at least one of the first electrode 400 contacting the side surface of the first connection portion 221 and the first electrode 400 contacting the side surface of the second connection portion 222 .
[0079] For example, as shown in FIG3 , in some embodiments, the contact area between the first electrode 400 and the surface of the first connection electrode 210 facing away from the substrate is greater than the contact area between the first electrode 400 and the side surface of the first connection portion 221, and greater than the contact area between the first electrode 400 and the side surface of the second connection portion 222. Thus, the contact reliability between the first electrode 400 and the surface of the first connection electrode 210 facing away from the substrate is greater than the contact reliability between the first electrode 400 and the side surface of the first connection portion 221, and greater than the contact reliability between the first electrode 400 and the side surface of the second connection portion 222.
[0080] For example, in the second connection electrode 220 , the thickness of the first connection portion 221 is greater than the thickness of the second connection portion 222 , and the contact area between the first electrode 400 and the side surface of the first connection portion 221 is greater than the contact area between the first electrode 400 and the side surface of the second connection portion 222 .
[0081] For example, in some embodiments, the contact reliability between the first electrode 400 and the side surface of the second connection portion 222 is greater than the contact reliability between the first electrode 400 and the side surface of the first connection portion 221. For example, the better the contact reliability, the more stable the connection between components.
[0082] As shown in Figure 4, the pixel-defining pattern 500 also includes a second confining structure 520 that forms at least a portion of the first opening 511. The second confining structure 520 covers the partition structure 230 on at least one side of the second connecting electrode 220. For example, the second confining structure 520 covers at least a portion of the edge of the second connecting electrode 220 and is located on at least one side of the first opening 511. As a result, the light-emitting functional layer 300 and the first electrode 400 can remain continuous when extending from above the pixel-defining pattern 500 to above the auxiliary electrode 600. As a result, the portions of the first electrode located in the connection area 11 and the display area 12 can remain connected as a single, integrated pattern, improving the final overlap effect.
[0083] FIG2 shows a rectangular frame 501 and a rectangular frame 502 , where the two rectangular frames are positions where the light-emitting functional layer 300 is partitioned by the partition structure 230 .
[0084] As shown in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4 , a buffer layer 910 and an insulating layer 920 are sequentially disposed on the base substrate 110 .
[0085] As shown in FIG3 , the display panel further includes an auxiliary electrode 600, which is located on a side of the conductive connector 200 close to the base substrate 110. The first electrode 400 is connected to the auxiliary electrode 600 via the conductive connector 200. The auxiliary electrode 600 is connected in parallel with the first electrode 400 via the conductive connector 200 to reduce the resistance of the first electrode 400.
[0086] As shown in FIG. 3 , the insulating layer 700 includes a via hole 07 . The insulating layer 700 is located between the auxiliary electrode 600 and the conductive connection member 200 . The conductive connection member 200 is connected to the auxiliary electrode 600 through the via hole 07 penetrating the insulating layer 700 .
[0087] As shown in Fig. 3, the auxiliary electrode 600 is disposed on the insulating layer 920. The insulating layer 700 and the conductive connecting member 200 are sequentially disposed on the auxiliary electrode 600.
[0088] 2 and 3 , a rectangular frame 501 indicates that the light-emitting functional layer 300 is separated by the partition structure 230 on the first side S1, and the first electrode 400 is connected to the conductive connector 200 on the first side S1. A rectangular frame 502 indicates that the light-emitting functional layer 300 is separated by the partition structure 230 on the third side S3, and the first electrode 400 is connected to the conductive connector 200 on the third side S3.
[0089] 2 and 4 , the light emitting functional layer 300 is not partitioned by the partition structure 230 on the second side S2 and the fourth side S4 , and the first electrode 400 is continuous on the second side S2 and the fourth side S4 .
[0090] 2 to 4 illustrate an example in which the light-emitting functional layer 300 is partitioned by the partition structure 230 on both sides of the second connection electrode 220 in the first direction X, but is not partitioned by the partition structure 230 on both sides of the second connection electrode 220 in the second direction Y.
[0091] For example, as shown in FIG3 , the orthographic projection of the first connection electrode 210 on the base substrate 110 is larger than the orthographic projection of the second connection electrode 220 on the base substrate 110. Thus, the first electrode 400 can be connected to the surface of the first connection electrode 210 facing away from the base substrate, thereby improving the reliability of the connection between the first electrode 400 and the conductive connection member 200.
[0092] For example, as shown in FIG3 , the first electrode 400 sequentially contacts, from top to bottom, the side surface of the light-emitting functional layer 300, the side surface of the second connection electrode 220, and the surface of the first connection electrode 210 facing away from the base substrate 110. Thus, the first electrode 400 is connected to the auxiliary electrode 600 via the conductive connection member 200. Alternatively, the first electrode 400 may contact only at least one of the side surface of the light-emitting functional layer 300, the side surface of the second connection electrode 220, and the surface of the first connection electrode 210 facing away from the base substrate 110.
[0093] As shown in FIG. 3 to FIG. 6 , the insulating layer 700 includes a passivation layer 710 and a planarization layer 720 . The passivation layer 710 is closer to the base substrate 110 than the planarization layer 720 .
[0094] For example, as shown in Figures 3 and 4, the via 07 includes a first through hole 711 penetrating the passivation layer 710 and a second through hole 723 penetrating the planarization layer 720. The orthographic projection of the first through hole 711 on the base substrate falls within the orthographic projection of the second through hole 723 on the base substrate 110, and the orthographic projection of the first through hole 711 on the base substrate 110 falls within the orthographic projection of the auxiliary electrode 600 on the base substrate. In this way, the conductive connector 200 above the auxiliary electrode 600 can be connected to the auxiliary electrode 600 through the via 07 (the first through hole 711 and the second through hole 723).
[0095] For example, as shown in Figures 3 and 4, the insulating layer 700 includes a sloped portion 721 that forms the via 07, and the orthographic projection of the partition structure 230 on the base substrate is located within the orthographic projection of the sloped portion 721 on the base substrate. For example, the partition structure 230 is located at the sloped portion 721. As shown in Figure 3, positioning the partition structure 230 on the sloped portion 721 facilitates the first electrode 400 to enter the partition structure 230, thereby electrically connecting to the second connecting electrode 220. In other words, the location of the partition structure 230 on the sloped portion 721 facilitates contact between the side surfaces of the first electrode 400 and the second connecting electrode 220.
[0096] For example, as shown in Figures 3 and 4, via 07 includes a first through hole 711 and a second through hole 723. The slope angle A8 of the slope portion 721 ranges from 15 to 45 degrees. For example, the slope angle of the slope portion 721 can range from 20 to 40 degrees. For example, the slope angle can range from 25 to 35 degrees. For further example, the slope angle can range from 30 to 35 degrees.
[0097] For example, the slope angle A8 refers to the angle of the slope portion 721 near the via hole 07. For example, the slope angle A8 is the angle between the surface SF of the slope portion 721 where the via hole 07 (second through hole 723) is formed and the base substrate BS.
[0098] As shown in Figures 3 and 4 , the insulating layer 700 further includes a flat portion 722, and the first connection electrode 210 extends from the slope portion 721 to the flat portion 722. Furthermore, in the embodiments shown in Figures 3 and 4 , the partition structure 230 is located on the slope portion 721, but the partition structure 230 may also be located on the flat portion 722.
[0099] In the connection area 11 of the display panel provided in at least some embodiments of the present disclosure, the shape of the pixel defining pattern 500 can be varied by any combination of the first defining structure 510 and the second defining structure 520. For example, the first defining structure 510 or the second defining structure 520 can be arranged on any one or more sides of the first opening 511, or the first defining structure 510 and the second defining structure 520 can be arranged on any one or more sides of the first opening 511. In addition, the size and shape of the first opening 511 can also be varied, for example, triangular, pentagonal, circular, etc. These variations do not constitute a limitation on the embodiments of the present disclosure. In practical applications, the following various solutions can be adopted based on the actual space and overlap effect.
[0100] FIG. 5 and FIG. 6 are merely structures of display panels provided by some embodiments of the present disclosure, and the embodiments of the present disclosure include but are not limited to these.
[0101] Figure 7 is a partial cross-sectional view of a display panel provided by an embodiment of the present disclosure. Figure 8 is a partial cross-sectional view of a display panel provided by an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0102] As shown in Figures 7 and 8, the surface of the slope portion 721 is a smooth curved or arcuate surface. The surface shape of the slope portion 721 can be determined as needed. The contact surface between the slope portion 721 and the first connection electrode 210 includes a smooth curved surface. When the surface of the slope portion 721 is flat, the surface of the structure conforming thereto can be parallel thereto. When the surface of the slope portion 721 is curved, the surface of the structure conforming thereto is also curved.
[0103] For example, when the surface of the slope portion 721 is a smooth curved surface or arc surface, the slope angle A8 may be the angle between a tangent line at a point on the surface of the slope portion 721 and the bottom surface of the slope portion 721. For angles of other curved or arc surfaces, refer to the above description.
[0104] As shown in Figures 3 to 8, to form a gentle slope, the dimension D1 of the slope portion 721 in the radial direction of the via hole 07 is greater than the distance D2 between the slope portion 721 and the auxiliary electrode 600 in the radial direction of the via hole 07. For example, the dimension D1 is greater than or equal to twice the distance D2. For example, the dimension D1 is less than or equal to five times the distance D2.
[0105] For example, the radial direction of the via / through hole refers to the direction from the center of the via / through hole to the edge of the via / through hole, and is not limited to the shape of the via / through hole being circular. The shape of the via / through hole can be determined according to needs.
[0106] As shown in Figures 3, 5, and 7, in the partition structure 230, the dimension D3 of the second connection portion 222 protruding from the first connection portion 221 is greater than or equal to the thickness of the first connection portion 221. The dimension D3 of the second connection portion 222 protruding from the first connection portion 221 can also be referred to as the dimension D3 of the first connection portion 221 recessed relative to the second connection portion 222.
[0107] For example, in the embodiments of the present disclosure, the thickness of a component refers to the dimension of the component in a direction perpendicular to the surface on which it is made. For example, the thickness of the first connection portion 221 refers to the thickness of the first connection portion 221 on a surface perpendicular to the first connection electrode 210.
[0108] As shown in FIG. 3 to FIG. 8 , the conductive connection portion 200 is in contact with both the slope portion 721 and the flat portion 722 of the planarization layer 720 .
[0109] FIG. 3 shows that the light-emitting functional layer 300 includes a first light-emitting functional portion 301 and a second light-emitting functional portion 302 that are spaced apart from each other.
[0110] As shown in Figures 3, 5, and 7, the partition structure 230 includes a groove 231. The angle between the orientation of the groove 231 and the base substrate BS is acute. The orientation of the groove 231 can refer to the direction from the bottom surface of the groove 231 toward the groove opening. Figure 5 shows the orientation of the groove 231 with an arrow. Figure 5 also shows the angle A0 between the orientation of the groove 231 and the base substrate BS.
[0111] In the display panel provided by the embodiment of the present disclosure, the angle between the orientation of the groove 231 and the base substrate BS is an acute angle, which facilitates the connection between the first electrode 400 and the conductive connector 200. For example, the angle between the orientation of the groove 231 and the base substrate BS is an acute angle, which facilitates the connection between the first electrode 400 and at least one of the first connection electrode 210, the first connection portion 221, and the second connection portion 222 in the conductive connector 200.
[0112] For example, the angle A0 is greater than or equal to 30 degrees and less than or equal to 60 degrees. For further example, the angle A0 is greater than or equal to 35 degrees and less than or equal to 55 degrees.
[0113] In the embodiments of the present disclosure, the angle between a component and the substrate BS refers to the angle between the component and the main surface of the substrate BS. The surface of the substrate BS used to manufacture each component is the main surface. In the cross-sectional view, the upper surface of the substrate BS is the main surface.
[0114] For example, as shown in Figures 3, 5, and 7, to facilitate isolation of the light-emitting functional layer 300, the dimension D3 (as shown in Figure 3) of the second connecting portion 222 protruding from the first connecting portion 221 is greater than the thickness of the light-emitting functional layer 300. For example, the thickness of the light-emitting functional layer 300 refers to the film thickness of the light-emitting functional layer 300. Figure 5 shows the thickness T1 of the light-emitting functional layer 300. For example, the thickness of the light-emitting functional layer 300 can be equal at all locations, that is, the light-emitting functional layer 300 can have approximately the same film thickness at all locations.
[0115] For example, as shown in Figures 3, 5, and 7, due to the inclined setting of the groove 231 or the inclined setting of the groove 231, the length of the contact portion between the first electrode 400 and the first connecting electrode 210 is greater than the dimension D3 (as shown in Figure 3) of the second connecting portion 222 protruding from the first connecting portion 221.
[0116] For example, as shown in Figure 7, the display panel also includes a functional electrode 630, which is adjacent to the auxiliary electrode 600. The orthographic projection of the functional electrode 630 on the base substrate BS does not overlap with the orthographic projection of the auxiliary electrode 600 on the base substrate BS. In order to form the partition structure 230 on a basically flat surface to make the interface smooth and to improve the connection stability between the first electrode and the conductive connector, the orthographic projection of the partition structure 230 on the base substrate BS does not overlap with the orthographic projection of the functional electrode 630 on the base substrate BS.
[0117] For example, as shown in FIG7 , the functional electrode 630 is a plate of the capacitor 612. The functional electrode 630 and the auxiliary electrode 600 are located on the same layer. The capacitor 612 also includes another plate that is closer to the base substrate BS than the functional electrode 630. FIG7 shows the plates 631 and 632 of the capacitor 612. The functional electrode 630 may also be a structure other than a capacitor plate.
[0118] For example, as shown in Figures 3, 5, and 7, the first electrode 400 is divided into a first conductive portion 401 and a second conductive portion 402 spaced apart from each other by the partition structure 230. The orthographic projection of the first conductive portion 401 on the surface SF of the slope portion 721 where the via hole 07 (second through hole 723) is formed overlaps with the orthographic projection of the second conductive portion 402 on the surface of the slope portion where the via hole 07 (second through hole 723) is formed. Figure 7 shows the surface SF of the first conductive portion 401 on the slope portion 721 where the via hole 07 (second through hole 723) is formed.
[0119] For example, as shown in Figures 3, 5, and 7, the overlapping dimension of the orthographic projection of the first conductive portion 401 on the surface SF of the slope portion 721 forming the via hole 07 (the second through hole 723) and the orthographic projection of the second conductive portion 402 on the surface of the slope portion forming the via hole 07 (the second through hole 723) does not exceed the dimension D3 (as shown in Figure 3) of the second connecting portion 222 protruding from the first connecting portion 221.
[0120] For example, as shown in Figures 3, 5, and 7, the overlapping dimension of the orthographic projection of the first conductive portion 401 on the surface SF of the slope portion 721 forming the via hole 07 (the second through hole 723) and the orthographic projection of the second conductive portion 402 on the surface of the slope portion forming the via hole 07 (the second through hole 723) does not exceed one third to one half of the dimension D3 (as shown in Figure 3) of the second connecting portion 222 protruding from the first connecting portion 221.
[0121] For example, as shown in Figures 3, 5, and 7, the overlapping size of the orthographic projections of the first conductive portion 401 and the second conductive portion 402 on the surface of the slope portion 721 forming the via 07 (second through hole 723) is smaller than the size of the second connecting portion 222 protruding from the first connecting portion 221.
[0122] For example, the overlapping dimension of the orthographic projections of the first conductive portion 401 and the second conductive portion 402 on the surface of the slope portion forming the via hole 07 (the second through hole 723 ) is one third to one half of the dimension of the second connection portion 222 protruding from the first connection portion 221 .
[0123] For example, as shown in Figures 3 to 8, the surface of the first connection portion 221 near the base substrate BS is conformal to the surface of the slope portion 721 forming the via hole 07 (the second through hole 723). As a result, the first connection portion 221 is conformal to the surface of the slope portion 721 forming the via hole 07 (the second through hole 723). For example, the groove 231 can be formed by overetching. Before forming the groove 231, at the slope portion 721, the thin film used to form the first connection electrode 210 is conformal to the surface of the slope portion 721 forming the via hole 07 (the second through hole 723). The thin film used to form the first connection portion 221 and the thin film used to form the second connection portion 222 are conformal to the first connection electrode 210, thereby conforming to the surface of the slope portion 721 forming the via hole 07 (the second through hole 723).
[0124] For example, as shown in Figures 3, 5, and 7, to facilitate the connection between the first electrode 400 and the conductive connector 200, the light-emitting functional layer 300 is divided by the partition structure 230 into a first light-emitting functional portion 301 and a second light-emitting functional portion 302 spaced apart from each other. The orthographic projection of the first light-emitting functional portion 301 on the base substrate BS overlaps with the orthographic projection of the auxiliary electrode 600 on the base substrate BS. The slope angle A8 of the slope portion 721 is greater than the angle A9 between the portion of the second light-emitting functional portion 302 near the partition structure 230 and the first connection electrode 210. Figure 7 shows the slope angle A8 of the slope portion 721 and the angle A9 between the portion of the second light-emitting functional portion 302 near the partition structure 230 and the first connection electrode 210.
[0125] 9A to 10B are plan views of the connection area 11 in four other display panels provided by embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0126] Figures 9A to 10B show plan views of the auxiliary electrode 600, the passivation layer 710, the planarization layer 720, the first connection electrode 210, the second connection electrode 220, and the pixel-defining pattern 500. Referring to Figures 3, 4, and 9A to 10B, the passivation layer 710 is illustrated by a first through-hole located therein, with the first through-hole within the enclosed pattern and the main body of the passivation layer outside the enclosed pattern. The planarization layer 720 is illustrated by a second through-hole located therein, with the second through-hole within the enclosed pattern and the main body of the planarization layer outside the enclosed pattern. The first through-hole 711 penetrating the passivation layer 710 exposes the auxiliary electrode 600, while the second through-hole 723 penetrating the planarization layer exposes the auxiliary electrode 600 and the first through-hole 711 in the passivation layer 710. The difference between Figures 9A to 10B is that the pixel-defining pattern 500 can be arranged with the first confinement structure 510 or the second confinement structure 520, which form at least a portion of the first opening 511, in different directions.
[0127] For example, as shown in Figures 3, 4, and 9A, the first confining structures 510 are disposed on the left and right sides of the second connecting electrode 220, so that the light-emitting functional layer 300 is cut off on the left and right sides of the second connecting electrode 220 by the partitioning structure 230 of the second connecting electrode 220, thereby connecting the first electrode 400 to the conductive connector 200. The second confining structures 520 are disposed on the upper and lower sides of the second connecting electrode 220. That is, the second confining structures 520 cover the upper and lower sides of the second connecting electrode 220, so that the light-emitting functional layer 300 is not cut off on the upper and lower sides by the partitioning structure 230 of the second connecting electrode 220. As a result, the first electrode 400 is continuous on the upper and lower sides of the second connecting electrode 220. As a result, the portion of the first electrode 400 located in the connection area 11 and the portion located in the display area 12 remain interconnected and integrated, thereby improving the final connection effect. In this case, the first electrode 400 can be cut off on the left and right sides by the partitioning structure 230 of the second connecting electrode 220, or it can be continuous.
[0128] For example, as shown in Figures 3, 4, and 9B, the first confining structure 510 is provided on the left, right, and upper sides of the second connecting electrode 220, so that the portions of the light-emitting functional layer 300 on the left, right, and upper sides of the second connecting electrode 220 are cut off by the partition structure 230 of the second connecting electrode 220, thereby connecting the first electrode 400 to the conductive connector 200. The second confining structure 520 is provided only on the lower side of the second connecting electrode 220, that is, the second confining structure 520 covers the lower side of the second connecting electrode 220, so that the portion of the first electrode 400 located on the lower side is not cut off by the partition structure 230 of the second connecting electrode 220. As a result, the portion of the first electrode 400 located in the connection area 11 and the portion located in the display area 12 remain connected as an integrated pattern, thereby improving the final connection effect.
[0129] For example, as shown in Figures 3, 4, and 10A, the first confining structure 510 is only provided on the left side of the second connecting electrode 220, so that the light-emitting functional layer 300 on the left side of the second connecting electrode 220 is cut off by the partition structure 230 of the second connecting electrode 220, thereby connecting the first electrode 400 to the conductive connector 200. The second confining structure 520 is provided on the upper side, lower side, and right side of the second connecting electrode 220. That is, the second confining structure 520 covers the upper side, lower side, and right side of the second connecting electrode 220, so that the light-emitting functional layer 300 and the first electrode 400 located on the upper side, lower side, and right side of the second connecting electrode 220 are not cut off by the partition structure 230 of the second connecting electrode 220. As a result, the portion of the first electrode 400 in the connection area 11 and the portion in the display area remain connected as an integrated pattern, thereby improving the final connection effect.
[0130] For example, as shown in Figures 3, 4, and 10B, the first confining structure 510 is only provided on the upper and lower sides of the second connecting electrode 220, so that the portions of the light-emitting functional layer 300 located on the upper and lower sides of the second connecting electrode 220 are cut off by the partition structure 230 of the second connecting electrode 220; while the second confining structure 520 is provided on the left and right sides of the second connecting electrode 220, that is, the second confining structure 520 covers the left and right sides of the second connecting electrode 220, so that the portions of the first electrode 400 located on the left and right sides of the second connecting electrode 220 are not cut off by the second connecting electrode 220. As a result, the portion of the first electrode 400 in the connection area 11 and the portion in the display area remain connected to each other as an integrated pattern, thereby improving the final connection effect.
[0131] Figure 11 is a schematic diagram of the structure of a display area in a display panel provided by an embodiment of the present disclosure. Figure 12 is a schematic diagram of the structure of a connection area and a display area in a display panel provided by an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0132] As shown in Figures 11 and 12, the display panel further includes a thin film transistor 900 and a display electrode 800. The thin film transistor 900 is disposed on the base substrate 110, and the display electrode 800 is disposed on the insulating layer 700. The display electrode 800 is connected to the thin film transistor 900 via a through hole 724 that penetrates the insulating layer 700. The pixel defining pattern 500 (third defining structure 530), the light-emitting functional layer 300, the first electrode 400, and the encapsulation layer 120 are sequentially disposed on the display electrode 800.
[0133] As shown in FIG11 , the display electrode 800 includes a first display electrode portion 810, a second display electrode portion 820, and a third display electrode portion 830. The first display electrode portion 810 is located on the same layer as the first connecting electrode 210, the second display electrode portion 820 is located on the same layer as the first connecting portion 221, and the third display electrode portion 830 is located on the same layer as the second connecting portion 222. Because the first electrode 400 does not need to be connected to the conductive element below it in the display area, the end of the first display electrode portion 810 protrudes from the end of the second display electrode portion 820 less than the end of the first connecting electrode 210 protrudes from the first connecting portion 221.
[0134] 11 , the pixel defining pattern 500 further includes a second opening 531 that exposes at least a portion of the display electrode 800 . The third defining structure 530 is disposed around the second opening 531 to cover an end of the display electrode 800 . The first electrode 400 is continuous at the second opening 531 .
[0135] As shown in FIG. 11 and FIG. 12 , the second opening 531 corresponds to the light emitting region R0 of the light emitting element.
[0136] Figures 11 and 12 illustrate encapsulation layer 120. Encapsulation layer 120 is configured to encapsulate the light-emitting element to protect it from water and oxygen intrusion. Encapsulation layer 120 also covers structures within the connection area. For example, encapsulation layer 120 can be in the form of a full-surface thin film. For example, encapsulation layer 120 can include a thin film stack formed by sequentially disposing an inorganic encapsulation film, an organic encapsulation film, and an inorganic encapsulation film.
[0137] The embodiment of the present disclosure uses the example of providing a partition structure 230 on the end surface of the second connection electrode 220 while not providing a partition structure on the end surface of the first connection electrode 210. However, the present invention is not limited to this. In other embodiments, a partition structure may also be provided on the end surface of the first connection electrode 210, and the partition structure of the end surface of the first connection electrode 210 is similar to the partition structure 230 on the end surface of the first connection electrode 210. In this case, the first connection electrode 210 may include two connection portions. These two connection portions are similar to the first connection portion 221 and the second connection portion 222, respectively. That is, at least one of the first connection electrode 210 and the second connection electrode 220 is provided with a partition structure 230.
[0138] The embodiment of the present disclosure is described by taking the partition structure 230 being located at the end as an example. However, in other embodiments, the partition structure 230 may not be located at the end.
[0139] For example, the partition structure 230 may be located at the edge of the conductive connection portion. The embodiment of the present disclosure is described by taking the partition structure 230 being located at the outer edge of the conductive connection portion as an example.
[0140] For example, in the case where the conductive connection portion includes an inner edge and an outer edge, the partition structure 230 may be provided at both the inner edge and the outer edge of the conductive connection portion.
[0141] In the embodiment of the present disclosure, the thickness of the passivation layer 710 is less than that of the planarization layer 720. The passivation layer 710 can be made of an inorganic insulating material, and the planarization layer 720 can be made of an organic insulating material. The buffer layer 910 and the insulating layer 920 can be made of an inorganic insulating material. For example, the inorganic insulating material includes at least one of silicon oxide, silicon nitride, and silicon oxynitride, but is not limited thereto. The organic insulating material includes, but is not limited to, resin or polyimide. The base substrate BS can be made of, but is not limited to, glass or polyimide.
[0142] The display panel provided by the embodiment of the present disclosure is not limited by the backplane design and organic light emitting diode (OLED) materials and is compatible with all OLED screen designs.
[0143] Another embodiment of the present disclosure provides a display device, which may include the display panel provided by any one of the embodiments shown in Figures 2 to 11. The display device provided by the embodiment of the present disclosure is provided with a conductive connector in the display panel, and the light-emitting functional layer is broken by the partition structure at the end of the conductive connector, so that the first electrode is connected to the conductive connector. The conductive connector is connected to the auxiliary electrode to reduce the voltage drop of the first electrode. In some embodiments, at least a portion of the edge of the second connecting electrode in the conductive connector is covered by the pixel defining structure to make the first electrode continuous, so that the portion of the first electrode at the connection area and the portion of the first electrode at the display area are still interconnected as an integrated graphic, thereby improving the final overlapping effect.
[0144] For example, the display device can be a display device such as an organic light emitting diode display device, as well as any product or component with a display function, such as a television, digital camera, mobile phone, watch, tablet computer, laptop computer, navigator, etc. that includes the display device, but this embodiment is not limited to this.
[0145] Another embodiment of the present disclosure provides a method for manufacturing a display panel. The manufacturing method includes: providing a base substrate; forming a conductive connector on the base substrate, the forming of the conductive connector includes sequentially forming a first connecting electrode and forming a second connecting electrode, and forming a partition structure at the end of the second connecting electrode while forming the conductive connector; forming a light-emitting functional layer on the conductive connector, the light-emitting functional layer being disconnected by the partition structure at at least a portion of the edge of the conductive connector; and forming a first electrode on the light-emitting functional layer; the first electrode and the conductive connector are connected at the partition structure. In the embodiment of the present disclosure, a conductive connector is provided in the connection area of the display panel, and a partition structure is formed at the end of the second connecting electrode in the conductive connector. For example, the partition structure can be formed by overetching. In the area where the partition structure is not covered by the pixel defining structure, the partition structure can cut off the light-emitting functional layer, thereby connecting the first electrode to the conductive connector; and the first electrode is continuous in the area where the partition structure is covered by the pixel defining structure, and forms a mutually integrated pattern with the portion of the first electrode in the display area, thereby improving the final overlap effect.

[0163] In step S9 , the planarization film 7200 is patterned first, and then the passivation film 7100 is patterned, so that the via hole 07 includes two through holes with different apertures, which is more conducive to the connection between the conductive connector and the auxiliary electrode 600 .
[0164] As shown in FIG. 15 , the planarization layer 720 includes a slope portion 721 and a flat portion 722 , and the slope portion 721 is located in the connection region 11 .
