Scrambler and descrambler method in particular for cryptographic applications

Abstract

The subject matter of the invention is a scrambler method for scrambling a character block, particularly for cryptographic applications, in the said method converting a first character block (220a) comprising first character components (225a) into a second character block (220b) comprising second character components (225b) is done by a scrambler unit (210) configured for a scrambler automat (250) , each second character component (225b) of the second character block (220b) belongs to the given second character component (225b), and the first character component (225a) of the first character block (220a) with a position corresponding with the position in the second character block (220b) are defined by at least one character component (225a, 225b) from the available character components (225a, 225b) of the first character block (220a) and the second character block (220b) and one single input character component (225c) of the input character block (220c). The invention further comprises a descrambling method.
