AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Conventional canned motor pumps used for pumping corrosive liquid fuel materials like liquid ammonia face the risk of sensor corrosion and improper detection of bearing wear due to the corrosive nature of the fuel.

Method used

The pump device incorporates a protective member covering the first sensor and a corrosion-resistant sensor cable, both filled with an inert gas to prevent corrosion and vibration damage, allowing for proper detection of bearing wear.

Benefits of technology

This configuration effectively prevents sensor corrosion and ensures accurate detection of bearing deterioration, even in corrosive environments, thereby maintaining pump efficiency and reliability.

Abstract

To provide a pump device that can appropriately detect deterioration of a bearing even if the pump device pumps up a liquid fuel material having corrosivity, and a pump system.SOLUTION: A pump device 3 is installed inside a tank 2 in which a liquid fuel material having corrosivity is stored, and pumps up the liquid fuel material. The pump device 3 comprises: a pump casing 5 made of a material having corrosion resistance to the liquid fuel material; a motor 6 installed inside the pump casing 5, for generating driving force of the pump device 3; a rotating shaft 7 installed inside the pump casing 5, to be rotated by the driving force of the motor 6; a bearing 8 installed inside the pump casing 5, and rotatably supporting the rotating shaft 7; a first sensor 9 installed outside the pump casing 5, and capable of detecting deterioration of the bearing 8; and a protective member 15 covering the first sensor 9.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
