Abstract

To efficiently set an attribute value of a reading attribute, when causing a user to check, with a preview image, whether or not the attribute value of the reading attribute should be set before creating a read image of a document, compared with a case where a plurality of preview images are created by combining attribute values of the reading attribute as candidates from which the user makes a selection.SOLUTION: A multi-functional machine 10 has: an attribute value setting unit 16 that, when one reading attribute is selected by a user from a list of reading attributes of a read image of a document displayed according to a user operation, creates a preview image in a preview area on the document for every attribute value that the reading attribute can take, displays the preview image in association with the attribute value, and sets an attribute value selected by the user from the displayed attribute values as an attribute value of the reading attribute; and a read image creation unit 152 that creates a read image of the document according to the set attribute value of the reading attribute in response to a scan instruction issued by the user.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
