[0002] Conventional book covers are made of paper and therefore are not waterproof, and are susceptible to water and sweat from the hands, which can cause the paper fibers to stretch and become easily torn. In order to avoid this risk, Patent Document 1 discloses a book cover made of a resin film. This book cover is made of polyester resin and can avoid the effects of water and sweat from the hands. In addition, the book cover made of polyester resin has high folding retention, and can be easily folded to fit the size of the book. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
[0003] [Patent Document 1] Patent No. 6107321 (pages 3 to 11) Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0004] However, the conventional book covers are stacked in bookstores, and are taken out one by one and folded to fit the size of the book. At this time, since both sides of the book cover are smooth, adjacent book covers stick to each other. Therefore, it is not easy to take out the book covers one by one, and there is a problem that the workability when attaching is poor.
[0005] An object of the present invention is to provide a book cover that can improve the ease of installation. [Means for solving the problem]
[0006] In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the present invention provides a book cover characterized by laminating, in order, on one side of a shape-retaining film made of polyester, an anchor coat layer containing powdered or bead-like inorganic pigment or resin in a hydrophobic resin, and a non-adhesive layer containing hydrophobically treated inorganic particles.
[0007] Furthermore, in the book cover of the present invention having the above-mentioned structure, the powdered or bead-like inorganic pigment or resin contained in the anchor coat layer has an average particle size of 0.8 to 30 μm.
[0008] Furthermore, in the book cover having the above structure, the present invention is characterized in that the inorganic particles contained in the non-adhesive layer have an average particle size of 0.001 to 50 μm.
[0009] Furthermore, the present invention is characterized in that in the book cover having the above-mentioned structure, the shape-retaining film is a stretched film containing ethylene terephthalate as a main component.
[0010] Furthermore, the present invention is characterized in that in the book cover having the above-mentioned structure, a paper layer is laminated on the other side of the shape-retaining film.
[0011] The present invention is also characterized in that, in the book cover configured as described above, a first printed layer is provided on the paper layer side of the shape-retaining film, and a second printed layer is provided on the paper layer on the side opposite the shape-retaining film. Effect of the Invention
[0012] According to the present invention, an anchor coat layer containing powdered or beaded inorganic pigment or resin in a hydrophobic resin and a non-adhesive layer containing hydrophobically treated inorganic particles are laminated on one side of a shape-retaining film made of polyester, improving the slipperiness of the book cover. This makes it easier to take out stacked book covers one by one in a bookstore, improving the workability when putting on the book covers. [Brief description of the drawings]

[Figure 4] FIG. 11 is a cross-sectional view showing a layered structure of a book cover according to a second embodiment of the present invention. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0014] First Embodiment Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. Fig. 1 is a perspective view showing a state in which a book cover of a first embodiment is used. A large number of book covers 1 are arranged in a stack in a bookstore or the like, and each is taken out one by one and attached to a book B. The back side of book B is covered with book cover 1, and book cover 1 is folded back at the edges of the front and back covers of book B.
[0015] FIG. 2 shows a plan view of book cover 1. Book cover 1 is formed into a rectangle in a plan view, and is folded at fold line 2 shown by a dashed line in the figure. That is, book cover 1 is folded at horizontal fold lines 2a, 2b at the top and bottom ends to match the height of book B. Next, it is folded at vertical fold line 2c on one of the left and right sides, and one of the front and back covers is inserted into the pouch-shaped portion formed at one end of book cover 1. Next, it is folded at vertical fold lines 2d, 2e, 2f according to the width and thickness of book B, and the inner surface of the other of the front and back covers is covered by the portion folded back at fold line 2f.
[0016] 3 is a cross-sectional view showing the laminated structure of the book cover 1. The book cover 1 is formed by laminating an anchor coat layer 12 and a non-adhesive layer 11, in that order, on one surface of a shape-retaining film 13. In addition, a printing layer 14 is provided on the other surface of the shape-retaining film 13.
[0017] The shape-retaining film 13 is made of a stretched polyester film mainly composed of ethylene terephthalate, which gives the shape-retaining film 13 a high folding retention property.
[0018] The thickness of the shape-retaining film 13 is, for example, 3 to 200 μm. If the film thickness is thinner than 3 μm, processing such as printing becomes difficult. If the film thickness is thicker than 200 μm, the cost becomes high.
[0019] The ethylene terephthalate unit preferably accounts for 50 mol % or more, and more preferably 60 mol % or more, of 100 mol % of the constituent units of the polyester.
[0020] Examples of the dicarboxylic acid component constituting the polyester include aromatic dicarboxylic acids such as isophthalic acid, naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, and orthophthalic acid, aliphatic dicarboxylic acids such as adipic acid, azelaic acid, sebacic acid, and decanedicarboxylic acid, and alicyclic dicarboxylic acids.
[0021] Examples of the diol component constituting the polyester include aliphatic diols such as ethylene glycol, 1,3-propanediol, 1,4-butanediol, neopentyl glycol, and hexanediol; alicyclic diols such as 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol; and aromatic diols such as bisphenol A.
[0022] In addition, the use of a polyester elastomer in combination is more desirable because it increases the degree of amorphousness and improves the folding retention.
[0023] Additives such as waxes, antioxidants, antistatic agents, crystal nucleating agents, viscosity reducers, heat stabilizers, coloring pigments, coloring inhibitors, and ultraviolet absorbing agents may be added to the shape-retaining film 13 as required.
[0024] The non-adhesive layer 11 is made of a coating liquid containing hydrophobically treated inorganic particles, and is formed on the anchor coat layer 12, the details of which will be described later, by gravure printing or the like. Since the non-adhesive layer 11 contains hydrophobically treated inorganic particles, one side of the book cover 1 has high slipperiness and high water repellency.
[0025] Examples of hydrophobized inorganic particles include silica, talc, sericite, mica, kaolin, and mixtures thereof. In particular, silica and talc are more preferable. The average particle size of the hydrophobized inorganic particles is, for example, 0.001 μm to 50 μm. If the average particle size of the inorganic particles is smaller than 0.001 μm, it is difficult to exhibit slipperiness and water repellency, and if it is larger than 50 μm, the abrasion resistance is deteriorated.
[0026] The amount of inorganic particles in the coating liquid forming the non-adhesive layer 11 is, for example, 0.1 to 50% by weight. If the amount is less than 0.1% by weight, the non-adhesive layer 11 coated with the coating liquid is unlikely to exhibit slip properties and water repellency, whereas if the amount is more than 50% by weight, the fluidity is reduced and the layer is not suitable for coating by gravure printing.
[0027] The thickness of the non-adhesive layer 11 is, for example, 0.01 to 50 μm. If the thickness is less than 0.01 μm, it is difficult to exhibit slip properties and water repellency, and if it is more than 50 μm, it is difficult to produce it by gravure printing.
[0028] The hydrophobic treatment of inorganic particles is not particularly limited as long as a hydrophobic group can be introduced into the inorganic particles. For example, inorganic particles can be hydrophobized by silane coupling treatment, silicone treatment, silazane treatment, etc., from the viewpoints of water repellency, cost, and safety.
[0029] For the silane coupling treatment, an aminosilane-based coupling agent such as aminopropylmethoxysilane, an epoxysilane-based coupling agent such as glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane, a mercaptosilane-based coupling agent such as mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane, or a silane-based coupling agent such as methyltrimethoxysilane can be used.
[0030] For the silicone treatment, silicone oils that are liquid at room temperature such as dimethylpolysiloxane, methylphenylpolysiloxane, methylhydrogenpolysiloxane, etc. can be used. For the silazane treatment, organosilazane compounds such as hexamethyldisilazane can be used.
[0031] The coating liquid for the non-adhesive layer 11 may contain alcohol (methanol, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, normal propanol, etc.) or water. Furthermore, the coating liquid for the non-adhesive layer 11 may contain additives. Examples of additives include viscosity adjusters, dispersants, antiblocking agents, waxes, and fillers.
[0032] The anchor coat layer 12 is made of a coating liquid containing fine particles in a hydrophobic resin, and is formed on the shape-retaining film 13 by gravure printing or the like. The fine particles contained in the anchor coat layer 12 are made of powder-like or bead-like inorganic pigment or resin, and more preferably are made of resin beads.
[0033] Examples of hydrophobic resins that can be used to form the anchor coat layer 12 include shellacs, rosins, rosin-modified maleic acid resins, rosin-modified phenolic resins, cellulose acetate, cellulose acetyl propionate, cellulose acetyl butyrate, chlorinated rubber, cyclized rubber, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, polyamide resins, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymers, ethylene-(meth)acrylic acid copolymers, vinyl acetate-(meth)acrylic acid copolymers, vinyl acetate resins, polyester resins, ketone resins, butyral resins, chlorinated polypropylene resins, chlorinated polyethylene resins, chlorinated ethylene vinyl acetate resins, ethylene vinyl acetate resins, (meth)acrylic resins, urethane resins, ethylene-vinyl alcohol resins, styrene-maleic acid resins, alkyd resins, styrene resins, polyacetal resins, epoxy resins, polycarbonate resins, melamine resins, acrylonitrile resins, polysulfone resins, polyether resins, polyethersulfone resins, polyetherketone resins, and polyimide resins.
[0034] The hydrophobic resin is dissolved or dispersed in a solvent to form a coating liquid. As the solvent, organic solvents generally used in gravure printing or water can be used. As the organic solvent, aromatic hydrocarbon solvents (toluene, xylene, etc.), aliphatic hydrocarbon solvents (hexane, cyclohexane, methylcyclohexane, ethylcyclohexane, etc.), alcohol solvents (methanol, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, normal propyl alcohol, 1-butanol, 2-butanol, isobutanol, tert-butanol, etc.), ester solvents (ethyl acetate, n-propyl acetate, isopropyl acetate, butyl acetate, isobutyl acetate, sec-butyl acetate, tert-butyl acetate, etc.), ketone solvents (acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, cyclohexanone, etc.), glycol ether solvents (ethylene glycol monomethyl ether, ethylene glycol monoethyl ether, ethylene glycol dimethyl ether, ethylene glycol monobutyl ether, propylene glycol monomethyl ether, propylene glycol monoethyl ether, propylene glycol monopropyl ether, propylene glycol monobutyl ether, etc.) and esterified products thereof can be used.
[0035] Examples of inorganic pigment particles that can be used in the anchor coat layer 12 include titanium oxide, calcium carbonate, barium sulfate, talc, zinc oxide, silica, mica, montmorillonite, smectite, zeolite, and kaolinite. Examples of resin particles that can be used in the anchor coat layer 12 include polyethylene, polypropylene, microcrystalline, carnauba, polytetrafluoroethylene, urethane resin, acrylic resin, nitrile resin, polystyrene resin, and mixtures thereof.
[0036] The average particle diameter of the fine particles contained in the anchor coat layer 12 is, for example, 0.1 μm to 50 μm. If it is smaller than 0.1 μm, slipperiness and water repellency are difficult to exhibit, and if it is larger than 50 μm, the coating suitability is deteriorated. The average particle diameter of the fine particles is more preferably 0.3 to 50 μm, and even more preferably 0.8 to 30 μm.
[0037] The anchor coat layer 12 contains a hydrophobic resin and fine particles, and therefore becomes an uneven hydrophobic resin layer in cross section. Since the non-adhesive layer 11 is laminated on the anchor coat layer 12 of the uneven hydrophobic resin layer, the uneven shape effect and the hydrophobic effect combine to further increase the slipperiness and water repellency of one side of the book cover 1.
[0038] The printed layer 14 is disposed on the opposite side of the non-adhesive layer 11 with respect to the shape-retaining film 13, and forms a pattern such as letters. The printed layer 14 is formed by gravure printing with an ink containing a resin component in a solvent, or, in the case of a colored layer, an ink further containing a pigment or a coloring dye. Examples of the resin component contained in the ink include urethane resin, butyral resin, copolymer of alkyd and nitrocellulose, polyamide, acrylic, copolymer of acrylic and rosin, and chlorinated polyolefin. The thickness of the printed layer 14 is about 2 to 3 μm.
[0039] The book cover 1 configured as described above has a high degree of slipperiness and water repellency on one side, so that when attaching the book cover 1 to the book B, the stacked book covers 1 can be easily removed one by one. Also, because the shape-retaining film 13 has high folding retention properties, the book cover 1 can be easily folded and attached. This improves the workability when attaching the book cover 1.
[0040] Furthermore, when the book cover 1 is attached to the book B with the non-adhesive layer 11 disposed on the outer surface, water droplets attached to the surface are repelled and guided to the periphery of the book B and fall off. This makes it possible to prevent water droplets from entering the inside of the book B by running down the cover folded over at the outer edge of the book B. Therefore, the book B with the book cover 1 attached can be brought into a wet area, and the book B can be read in a sauna bath, for example.
[0041] According to this embodiment, an anchor coat layer 12 and a non-adhesive layer 11 are laminated in this order on one side of a shape-retaining film 13 made of polyester. The anchor coat layer 12 contains powdered or beaded inorganic pigment or resin in a hydrophobic resin, and the non-adhesive layer 11 contains inorganic particles that have been hydrophobized. This improves the slipperiness and water repellency of the book cover 1. As a result, the book covers 1 stacked in a bookstore can be easily removed one by one, improving the workability when attaching the book cover 1. Also, the book B with the book cover 1 attached can be brought into a wet area.
[0042] Furthermore, since the inorganic particles in the non-adhesive layer 11 have an average particle size of 0.8 to 30 μm, slipperiness and water repellency are reliably exhibited, and good abrasion resistance can be ensured.
[0043] Furthermore, since the fine particles (powder or bead-like inorganic pigment or resin) contained in the anchor coat layer 12 have an average particle size of 0.1 to 50 μm, slip properties and water repellency are more reliably exhibited, ensuring good coating suitability.
[0044] Furthermore, since the shape-retaining film 13 is a stretched film containing ethylene terephthalate as a main component, it is possible to easily realize a shape-retaining film 13 that has high folding retention.
[0045] <Second embodiment> Next, Fig. 5 is a cross-sectional view showing the laminated structure of the book cover 1 of the second embodiment. For convenience of explanation, the same parts as those of the first embodiment shown in Figs. 1 to 3 are given the same reference numerals. In this embodiment, a paper layer 16 is provided on the opposite side of the non-adhesive layer 11 with respect to the shape-retaining film 13. The other parts are the same as those of the first embodiment.
[0046] As in the first embodiment, the book cover 1 has an anchor coat layer 12 and a non-adhesive layer 11 laminated in that order on one side of a shape-retaining film 13. A paper layer 16 is laminated on a printed layer 14 formed on the other side of the shape-retaining film 13 via an adhesive layer 15. A printed layer 17 is provided on the paper layer 16 on the opposite side of the shape-retaining film 13.
[0047] The paper layer 16 has a basis weight of 30 to 120 g / cm 2 The thickness of the paper layer 16 is, for example, about 20 to 100 μm. The adhesive layer 15 is made of a dry lamination adhesive such as urethane resin, and adheres the shape-retaining film 13 on which the print layer 14 is printed and the paper layer 16 together.
[0048] Printing layer 17 is gravure printed with the same ink as printing layer 14 to form patterns such as letters. The thickness of printing layer 17 is about 2 to 3 μm. The pattern of printing layer 14 (first printing layer) provided on the paper layer 16 side of shape-retaining film 13 can be seen through shape-retaining film 13 from one side of book cover 1. In addition, the pattern of printing layer 17 (second printing layer) provided on the paper layer 16 on the opposite side to shape-retaining film 13 can be seen from the other side of book cover 1. This allows patterns to be provided on both sides of book cover 1.
[0049] According to this embodiment, the provision of the paper layer 16 can improve the folding and retention properties of the book cover 1, and the book cover 1 can be attached more easily.
[0050] In addition, a printed layer 14 (first printed layer) is provided on the paper layer side of the shape-retaining film 13, and a printed layer 17 (second printed layer) is provided on the paper layer 16 opposite the shape-retaining film 13. This allows designs to be provided on both sides of the book cover 1, improving the convenience of the book cover 1.
[0051] If the design is sufficient on one side of the book cover 1, either the printed layer 14 or the printed layer 17 may be omitted. [Industrial Applicability]
[0052] The present invention can be used as a book cover for protecting a book. [Explanation of symbols]
