The upper sewing unit includes a first drive shaft, a link connected to the first drive shaft, and a needle bar driven by the link. The link has a first end connected to the first drive shaft and moving in a circular locus following the first drive shaft, and a second end connected to the needle bar and operating within a guide rail. The second end moves in a linear locus, and there is no overlapping portion between the linear locus and the circular locus. The horizontal height of the operating range of the linear locus is higher than the horizontal height of the circular locus. The lower sewing unit includes a second drive shaft in an interlocking relationship with the first drive shaft, a transmission link set connected to the second drive shaft, a lower hook drive shaft connected to the transmission link set, a lower hook provided on the lower hook drive shaft and working together with a plurality of needles on the needle bar, and a guide component through which the lower hook drive shaft is drilled. The transmission link set includes a first swing arm connected to the lower hook drive shaft. The guide component is formed as two guide rings provided separately and through which the lower hook drive shaft is drilled, and the two guide rings limit the lower hook drive shaft to be able to perform only linear reciprocating motion.

[0005] In one embodiment, the sewing machine includes a housing, and the housing defines a space in which the lower hook is displaced in the linear reciprocating motion.

[0006] In one embodiment, the guide component is formed as a linear rail located between the two guide rings, and the lower hook drive shaft includes a collar and a limiting block provided on the collar and operating within the linear rail.

Specifically, the guide rail 24 is located on the first drive shaft 21, and there is no overlapping part between the straight locus and the circular locus. When the assembly of the sewing machine 10 is completed, the second end 222 of the link 22 is higher than the first end 221.

[0015] The lower sewing unit 30 includes a second drive shaft 31, a transmission link set 32, a lower hook drive shaft 33, a lower hook 34, and a guide component 35. The second drive shaft 31 is in an interlocking relationship with the first drive shaft 21, and the second drive shaft 31 is interlocked with the first drive shaft 21 via a belt 43. The transmission link set 32 is connected to the second drive shaft 31, the transmission link set 32 is connected to the lower hook drive shaft 33, and the lower hook drive shaft 33 reciprocates under the drive of the transmission link set 32.
