Abstract
To provide a fixing device that, when a fixing belt is to be used for a long period, suppresses differences in image gloss within an output image that occur due to leakage of grease from an end section of the fixing belt, the grease containing silicone oil of a lubricant on an inner peripheral surface of the fixing belt.SOLUTION: A fixing device includes: a fixing belt; a sliding member that abuts an inner peripheral surface of the fixing belt via grease containing silicone oil; and a pressure-applying member that faces the sliding member with the fixing belt sandwiched therebetween and applies pressure. On a surface of the fixing belt, surface roughness of the fixing belt surface in a region that does not abut the pressure-applying member is made rough. Also, the surface roughness of the fixing belt surface in a region that abuts the pressure-applying member is made less than the surface roughness of the fixing belt surface in a region where the surface roughness has been made rough in a region that does not abut the pressure-applying member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
