Abstract

We provide electrolytic capacitors with excellent long-term reliability. [Solution] The electrolytic capacitor of the present invention has a capacitor element having a porous body of valve metal and a dielectric layer made of an oxide film of the valve metal, on which a conductive polymer is provided as a solid electrolyte, wherein the conductive polymer contains an n-type conductive polymer having structural units represented by a predetermined formula or an n-type conductive polymer having structural units represented by a predetermined formula that is doped with a dopant. The conjugated portion in the structure of the n-type conductive polymer is at least one selected from the group consisting of aromatic rings, aromatic heterocycles, fused aromatic rings and fused aromatic heterocycles, or a benzene ring.
