Abstract

The present invention provides a mesh-like, expandable, sterile umbilical cord tissue allograft. [Solution] A dehydrated, mesh-like umbilical cord tissue allograft that can be used for wound treatment. Specifically, the mesh-like allograft has the property of being expandable to cover irregularly shaped wounds, thus reducing the need to apply multiple uniformly sized grafts to a single wound site. The dehydrated, mesh-like umbilical cord tissue allograft is supplied from a human donor and then treated to remove any potential contaminants or microorganisms before applying a specific mesh pattern to the tissue. The dehydrated, mesh-like umbilical cord tissue graft can be reconstituted before application to the target and then configured to optimally cover the shape of the wound site.
