Thermochromic ink composition for writing instruments and writing instruments containing the same

Abstract

The present invention provides a thermochromic ink composition for writing instruments that offers excellent re-writing and re-coating properties, and a writing instrument containing this composition, which allows for the formation of clear writing without interruption or smudging when writing again on an area where writing has been erased by frictional heat, or when applying ink over previously formed ink, without causing any breaks or smudging in the writing. [Solution] A thermochromic ink composition for writing instruments comprising a microcapsule pigment containing a thermochromic composition, water, and one or more selected from titanium dioxide or alumina having an average particle size in the range of 10 to 45 nm, and a writing instrument containing the same.
