Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a vehicle interior structure in which an airbag is disposed on the rear side of an interior material. [Background technology]

[0002] Airbags are arranged on the rear side of the interior materials of vehicles such as automobiles, and deploy inside the vehicle cabin in the event of a vehicle collision to cushion the impact on occupants.

[0003] The following Patent Document 1 describes a pillar garnish structure for a front pillar as an interior structure for a vehicle. This structure includes a pillar garnish supported on the front pillar as an airbag cover. A curtain airbag is disposed on the rear side of the pillar garnish and is capable of pushing the pillar garnish to deploy inside the vehicle cabin. In the event of a vehicle collision, the curtain airbag deploys inside the vehicle cabin to cover the front door and protect the occupants.

[0004] The pillar garnish structure of Patent Document 1 includes a mounting clip fixed to a front pillar. The mounting clip has a connecting portion and a hooking portion. The connecting portion connects the pillar garnish to the front pillar and is adapted to release the connection when a load is applied to the pillar garnish due to the deployment of an airbag. The hooking portion hooks the pillar garnish, which has been released from its connection with the front pillar, at a position away from the front pillar.

[0005] When the curtain airbag is deployed, the inflating curtain airbag pushes the pillar garnish from behind, releasing the connection between the pillar garnish and the front pillar. The pillar garnish moves away from the front pillar until it is caught by the hook of the mounting clip, which creates a gap between the pillar garnish and the front pillar. The curtain airbag passes through this gap and deploys into the passenger compartment. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0006] [Patent Document 1] JP 2010-168044 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0007] In the pillar garnish structure of Patent Document 1, the size of the gap through which the curtain airbag passes when it is about to deploy into the vehicle cabin depends on the distance from when the pillar garnish leaves the front pillar to when it is caught in the hook of the mounting clip. Since the mounting clip is housed in a narrow space between the pillar garnish and the front pillar, there are many restrictions on the setting of the hook. Therefore, the distance that the pillar garnish leaves the front pillar is limited, which in turn limits the size of the gap through which the curtain airbag passes, preventing smooth deployment of the airbag. [Means for solving the problem]

[0008] In order to solve at least one of the above problems, one aspect of the present invention provides an interior structure for a vehicle, comprising: An interior structure for a vehicle includes a base member supported on a vehicle body panel, and an elastically deformable cover supported on the base member, an airbag is disposed on a rear side of the cover at a position away from the base member, and the airbag pushes the cover to be deployable within a vehicle compartment, a connecting member fixed to the vehicle body panel, the connecting member having a connecting portion that connects the base member to the vehicle body panel and releases the connection when a load is applied to the base member due to airbag deployment, and a hook portion that hooks the base member, the connection of which has been released from the vehicle body panel, at a position away from the vehicle body panel; The cover is connected to the base member at a first connection point far from the airbag and at a second connection point close to the airbag, and when a load is applied to the cover by the airbag deploying, the connection at the second connection point is released and the cover elastically deforms around the first connection point.

[0009] According to the above configuration, when the airbag is deployed, the base member separates from the vehicle body panel and the cover elastically deforms in the opening direction relative to the base member. In other words, a two-stage opening motion is performed, so that the opening through which the airbag passes can be made wider, and the airbag can be deployed smoothly. Effect of the Invention

[0010] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a vehicle interior structure that allows an airbag to be smoothly deployed. [Brief description of the drawings]

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0012] Hereinafter, an interior structure for a vehicle according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to Figures 1 to 8. In this embodiment, the present invention is applied to a pillar trim structure (interior structure) for a rear pillar of an automobile.

[0013] As shown in Fig. 1, a rear pillar 2 of an automobile 1 (vehicle) is disposed at an angle to the rear of the passenger compartment, extends rearward from a roof 3 and slopes downward. A rear door glass 4 is provided on the lower front side of the rear pillar 2, and a rear glass 5 shown in Fig. 4 is provided on the upper rear side. A pillar trim 10 is attached to the passenger compartment side, extending in the direction in which the rear pillar 2 extends.

[0014] As shown in FIG. 5, between the pillar trim 10 and the rear pillar 2, a curtain airbag 20 and a base member 30 that is supported by the rear pillar 2 and supports the pillar trim 10 are arranged.

[0015] The rear pillar 2 has an inner panel 2a on the passenger compartment side and an outer panel 2b on the vehicle exterior side, both of which are made of thin metal plate, and these form a closed cross-sectional structure. A bracket 6 extending toward the passenger compartment side is fixed to the inner panel 2a, and a locking hole 6a is formed on the passenger compartment side of the bracket 6.

[0016] The airbag 20 is provided in a folded state from the side of the roof 3 (FIG. 1) along the rear pillar 2. An inflator (gas generator) (not shown) is provided on the side of the roof 3 or the rear pillar 2. This inflator supplies gas into the airbag 20 when it receives an output from a collision detection sensor attached to the vehicle, causing the airbag 20 to deploy in a curtain-like manner inside the vehicle compartment along the side of the vehicle compartment to protect the occupant in the event of a collision.

[0017] The pillar trim 10 is made of resin and is elastically deformable, and has a shape capable of covering the rear pillar 2. The pillar trim 10 has a pillar trim body 11 on the rear door glass 4 (FIG. 1) side, and a cover 40 on the rear glass 5 side. The cover 40 covers the inner panel 2a and the airbag 20 from the passenger compartment side.

[0018] As shown in Fig. 4, a restricting wall 12 extending toward the inner panel 2a is provided at the end of the pillar trim body 11 on the cover 40 side. The restricting wall 12 restricts the deployment direction of the airbag 20. An engagement groove 13 is formed at the base end of the restricting wall 12 and extends in the extension direction (longitudinal direction) of the pillar trim 10. This engagement groove 13 is recessed toward the inner panel 2a from the portion of the pillar trim body 11 on the rear door glass 4 (Fig. 1) side.

[0019] At the intersection of the regulating wall 12 and the engagement groove 13, a plurality of fitting holes 14 (four in this embodiment) shown in Figs. 5 and 6 are formed at intervals in the extending direction (longitudinal direction) of the pillar trim 10.

[0020] The cover 40 is plate-shaped and curved so as to be convex toward the vehicle interior. At an end 40a on the back side (outside the vehicle) of the cover 40 on the pillar trim main body 11 side, as shown in Figures 2 and 5, a plurality of fitting claws 40b (four in this embodiment) are provided at intervals in the extending direction (longitudinal direction) of the pillar trim 10, protruding toward the inner panel 2a.

[0021] 5, when the cover 40 and the pillar trim body 11 are assembled, the fitting claws 40b are fitted into the fitting holes 14 of the pillar trim body 11. At this time, the end 40a of the cover 40 on the pillar trim body 11 side is engaged with the engagement groove 13 of the pillar trim body 11.

[0022] As shown in Figures 4 and 2, the cover 40 has two mounting bosses 41F, 41R (first boss portions) on its back side facing the rear glass 5, and two mounting bosses 42F, 42R (second boss portions) on the pillar trim main body 11 side of the mounting bosses 41F, 41R.

[0023] The mounting bosses 41F, 42F are disposed on the front side in the direction in which the cover 40 extends (longitudinal direction), and the mounting bosses 41R, 42R are disposed on the rear side. As shown in FIG. 4, the front mounting boss 42F is disposed between the mounting boss 41F and the airbag 20, and the rear mounting boss 42R is also disposed between the mounting boss portion 41R and the airbag 20.

[0024] 4, each of the mounting bosses 41F, 42F, 41R, 42R has a peripheral wall 43 that protrudes from the rear surface of the cover 40 toward the exterior of the vehicle, and a support portion 44 that is provided so as to close the tip end side of the peripheral wall 43. Of these support portions 44, the support portion 44 of the mounting bosses 42F, 42R (second boss portion) is disposed further back toward the vehicle compartment than the support portion 44 of the mounting bosses 41F, 41R (first boss portion).

[0025] The central portion of each support portion 44 is formed to be thicker than the remaining portions of the support portion 44, and has a drilled hole 44a formed in the protruding direction of the peripheral wall 43. The drilled hole 44a is provided as a rivet hole penetrating the support portion 44 in the mounting boss 41F, and is provided as a tapping hole in the mounting bosses 41R, 42F, 42R, and may either penetrate the support portion 44 or be a blind hole extending from the vehicle exterior side to the vehicle interior side.

[0026] As shown in FIG. 2, the base member 30 has a shape that extends long in the extension direction (longitudinal direction) of the cover 40, straddling the mounting bosses 41F, 42F on the vehicle body front side of the cover 40 and the mounting bosses 41R, 42R on the vehicle body rear side. In its extension direction (longitudinal direction), the base member 30 has a connecting plate portion 31F (first connecting plate portion) and a connecting plate portion 32F (second connecting plate portion) at its end toward the front of the vehicle body, a connecting plate portion 31R (first connecting plate portion) and a connecting plate portion 32R (second connecting plate portion) at its end toward the rear of the vehicle body, and three clip bases 33 in the middle.

[0027] The connecting plate portions 31F and 31R (first connecting plate portion), the connecting plate portions 32F and 32R (second connecting plate portion), and the clip base 33 will be described below in that order. The connecting plate portion 31F (first connecting plate portion) is disposed on the vehicle body front side, on the rear window 5 side, of the base member 30, and the connecting plate portion 32F (second connecting plate portion) is disposed on the pillar trim main body 11 side of the connecting plate portion 31F. The connecting plate portions 31F and 32F are formed corresponding to the height difference of the support portions 44, 44 of the mounting bosses 41F, 42F, and are connected by the joint plate portion 34 to form a step shape.

[0028] The connecting plate portion 31R (first connecting plate portion) is disposed on the vehicle body rear side of the base member 30, on the rear window 5 side, and the connecting plate portion 32R (second connecting plate portion) is disposed on the pillar trim main body 11 side of the connecting plate portion 31R. The connecting plate portion 31R and the connecting plate portion 32R are formed corresponding to the height difference of the support portions 44, 44 of the mounting bosses 41R, 42R, and are connected by the joint plate portion 34 to form a step shape.

[0029] Connecting plate portions 31F, 31R (first connecting plate portions) have a through hole 35 as shown in Figures 3(A) and (B), and have an engagement recess 36 in a portion of the surface facing the passenger compartment that includes the through hole 35 as shown in Figure 4. The engagement recess 36 of connecting plate portion 31F engages with the center portion of the support portion 44 of the mounting boss 41F, and the engagement recess 36 of connecting plate portion 31R engages with the center portion of the support portion 44 of the mounting boss 41R.

[0030] 2 and 4, the vehicle exterior side of the connecting plate portion 31F and the vehicle compartment side of the support portion 44 of the mounting boss 41F are clamped by a bracket 7. The shaft portion of a rivet 8 (first connector) is inserted through a drilled hole 44a of the support portion 44 and through hole 35 of the connecting plate portion 31F via the bracket 7, and the shaft end of the rivet 8 is crushed to connect the connecting plate portion 31F and the mounting boss 41F. This connection point between the connecting plate portion 31F and the mounting boss 41F is referred to as a connection point C1f (first connection point).

[0031] The connecting plate 31R is connected to the mounting boss 41R by screwing a tapping screw 9A (first connector) inserted into the through hole 35 shown in Fig. 3(A) until a washer abuts against the connecting plate 31R while forming a female thread in the drilled hole 44a of the mounting boss 41R, as shown in Fig. 2. This connection point between the connecting plate 31R and the mounting boss 41R is referred to as a connection point C1r (first connection point).

[0032] Next, the connecting plate portions 32F and 32R (second connecting plate portions) will be described. As shown in Fig. 3(B), the connecting plate portion 32F (second connecting plate portion) has a notched hole 37 cut into the shape of half of a long hole. One end of the notched hole 37 is open at the edge of the connecting plate portion 32F on the airbag 20 side, and serves as an extraction opening 37a. The notched hole 37 has a guide portion 37b and a storage portion 37c from the extraction opening 37a toward the back.

[0033] The inner diameter of the storage portion 37c is slightly larger than the outer diameter of the shaft of the tapping screw 9B (second connector) shown in Figures 2 and 4. The opposite side of the inner portion of the storage portion 37c extends linearly with a constant width and is connected to the extraction opening 37a via the guide portion 37b.

[0034] The direction in which the guide portion 37b and the outlet 37a of the cutout hole 37 are formed is the direction in which the tapping screw 9B of the mounting boss 42F (second boss portion) attempts to move when the cover 40 is pushed toward the vehicle cabin with the connection point C1f (first connection point) between the mounting boss 41F (first boss portion) and the connecting plate portion 31F (first connecting plate portion) as a fulcrum.

[0035] 2 and 4, the connecting plate 32F is connected to the mounting boss 42F by screwing a tapping screw 9B inserted into the receiving portion 37c (FIG. 3(B)) of the notched hole 37 into the drilled hole 44a of the mounting boss 42F until the washer abuts against the connecting plate 32F while forming a female thread in the drilled hole 44a of the mounting boss 42F. This connection point between the connecting plate 32F and the mounting boss 42F is referred to as a connection point C2f (second connection point).

[0036] As shown in Fig. 3(A), the connecting plate portion 32R (second connecting plate portion) has a cutout hole 38 formed by cutting out half of a rounded rectangle. One end of the cutout hole 38 is open at the edge of the connecting plate portion 32R on the airbag 20 side, and serves as an extraction opening 38a. The cutout hole 38 has a guide portion 38b and a storage portion 38c from the extraction opening 38a toward the back.

[0037] The innermost part of the storage section 38c has a rectangular shape with half-rounded corners. The opposite side of the innermost part of the storage section 38c extends linearly with a constant width slightly larger than the outer diameter of the shaft of the tapping screw 9C (second connector) (FIG. 2), and is connected to the extraction opening 38a via the guide section 38b.

[0038] The direction in which the guide portion 38b and the withdrawal outlet 38a of the cutout hole 38 are formed is the direction in which the tapping screw 9C of the mounting boss 42R (second boss portion) attempts to move when the cover 40 is pushed toward the vehicle cabin with the connection point C1r (first connection point) between the mounting boss 41R (first boss portion) and the connecting plate portion 31R (first connecting plate portion) as a fulcrum.

[0039] 2 and 4, the connecting plate 32R is connected to the mounting boss 42R by screwing the tapping screw 9C inserted into the receiving portion 38c of the notched hole 38 into the drilled hole 44a of the mounting boss 42R until the washer abuts against the connecting plate 32R while forming a female thread in the drilled hole 44a of the mounting boss 42R. This connection point between the connecting plate 32R and the mounting boss 42R is referred to as a connection point C2r (second connection point).

[0040] Next, the clip base 33 will be described. 2 and 5, each clip base 33 is formed in a box shape protruding toward the vehicle exterior and has a peripheral wall portion 33a and a seating surface portion 33b that closes the tip side (vehicle exterior side). In the two clip bases 33 on the vehicle body front side, the peripheral wall portion 33a and the seating surface portion 33b are provided so as to be continuous with each other. As shown in FIG. 5, each clip base 33 has an escape hole 33c formed in the peripheral wall portion 33a on the pillar trim main body 11 side and an attachment hole 33d formed in the seating surface portion 33a.

[0041] A clip 50 (connecting member) is attached to each clip base 33, and each clip base 33 is connected to the inner panel 2a of the rear pillar 2 via this clip 50 and the bracket 6, and thus the base member 30 is connected to and supported by the rear pillar 2. The base member 30 may be connected to and supported by the rear pillar 2 without via the bracket 6. The base member 30 being connected to and supported by the rear pillar 2 means both that the base member 30 is indirectly connected to and supported by the rear pillar 2, and that the base member 30 is directly connected to and supported by the rear pillar 2.

[0042] Clip 50 is made of resin and is elastically deformable, and as shown in Figures 2 and 5, has a connecting portion 51 at one end, a hook portion 56 at the other end, and a linking portion 57 in the middle that connects connecting portion 51 and hook portion 56.

[0043] As shown in Figures 3(A) and 5, connecting portion 51 has a flange portion 52, and has an elastic spacer 53 and a locking fixing portion 54 on one side of flange portion 52, and an attachment portion 55 on the other side.

[0044] One plate surface of the flange portion 52 serves as a seat surface for the base member 30. The elastic spacer 53 has a plate shape, extends from the inner portion of the flange portion 52, and is formed so as to move away from the flange portion 52 as it extends outward.

[0045] The locking fixing part 54 has a cylindrical shaft part 54a and a locking projection 54b on the outer circumferential surface of the axially middle part of the shaft part 54a. The locking projections 54b are provided in pair facing each other in the radial direction of the shaft part 54a, and each has a wedge shape that becomes thicker from the tip end side to the base end side of the shaft part 54a.

[0046] As shown in FIG. 5, the engaging portion 55 has a shape in which the base end portion bulges out compared to the tip end portion, and is formed in a size that allows it to be press-fitted into the mounting hole 33d of the base member 30.

[0047] The connecting portion 57 has a band-like shape and extends continuously to the engaging portion 55. The hook portion 56 has a T-shape at the tip of the connecting portion 57.

[0048] The clip 50 is attached to the clip base 33 by inserting the hook portion 56, the connecting portion 57 and the engaging portion 55 into the clip base 33 through the mounting hole 33d of the seat portion 33b of the clip base 33, and press-fitting the engaging portion 55 into the mounting hole 33d to engage it. When the clip 50 is attached, the seat portion 33b is sandwiched between the engaging portion 55 and the flange portion 52, and when a predetermined load is applied, the mounting hole 33d overcomes the engaging portion 55, causing the clip 50 to come off the clip base 33.

[0049] Furthermore, when the clip 50 is attached, the hook portion 56 and a part of the connecting portion 57 protrude from the clip base 33 through the escape hole 33c of the peripheral wall portion 33a of the clip base 33. When the clip 50 is removed from the attachment hole 33d in this state, the hook portion 56 is adapted to be hooked on the seat surface portion 33b on the periphery of the attachment hole 33d.

[0050] The clip 50 connects the clip base 33 and the inner panel 2a by engaging the locking portion 54 of the clip 50 with the locking hole 6a of the bracket 6 extending from the inner panel 2a. At the periphery of the locking hole 6a, the base end face of the locking projection 54b of the locking portion 54 abuts against one surface, and the elastic spacer 53 abuts against the other surface. As a result, the clip 50 is fixed to the bracket 6 in a non-dislodging state, and thus the clip 50 is fixed to the inner panel 2a, and the base member 30 is supported by the inner panel 2a via the clip 50 and the bracket 6.

[0051] Next, the operation and effects of this embodiment will be described. When the airbag 20 is deployed, as shown in Fig. 6, the inflating airbag 20 presses the portion of the cover 40 on the pillar trim main body 11 side. As a result, the cover 40 tries to rotate toward the passenger compartment about the connection points C1f, C1r between the mounting bosses 41F, 41R on the rear window 5 side and the connecting plate portions 31F, 31R, respectively, so that the engagement between the engagement claw portions 40b of the cover 40 and the engagement hole portions 14 of the pillar trim main body 11 is released, and an opening A is formed between the cover 40 and the pillar trim main body 11. From this opening A, the airbag 20 deploys in a curtain shape along the side surface of the passenger compartment.

[0052] When the cover 40 is pressed by the airbag 20, the shafts of the tapping screws 9B, 9C move along the guides 37b, 38b toward the outlets 37a, 38a in the cutout holes 37, 38 of the connecting plate parts 32F, 32R (second connecting plate parts) located near the airbag 20, and the tapping screws 9B, 9C come out of the outlets 37a, 38a, respectively, and are removed from the cutout holes 37, 38, as shown in Fig. 7. That is, the connection between the connecting parts C2f, C2r (second connecting parts) of the mounting bosses 42F, 42R (second boss parts) and the connecting plate parts 32F, 32R (second connecting plate parts) is released, so that the cover 40 elastically deforms and opens with respect to the base member 30 around the connecting parts C1f, C1r (second connecting parts) of 41F, 41R (first boss parts) and 31F, 31R (first connecting parts). This allows the airbag to be deployed smoothly.

[0053] The directions in which the guides 37b, 38b and the outlets 37a, 38a of the connecting plate parts 32F, 32R (second connecting plate parts) are formed are parallel to the direction in which the tapping screws 9B, 9C (second connectors) are pulled when the cover 40 is pushed by the airbag 20 and elastically deforms to rotate around the connecting points C1f, C1r (first connecting points) between the mounting bosses 41F, 41R (first boss parts) and the connecting plate parts 31F, 31R (first connecting plate parts). In other words, the notched holes 37, 38 that clarify the direction in which the tapping screws 9B, 9C are removed are formed in a direction that makes it easy for the tapping screws 9B, 9C to be removed. This increases the ease of opening the cover 40 by elastic deformation around the connecting points C1f, C1r.

[0054] The cutout holes 37, 38 are formed so that the tapping screws 9B, 9C can be disengaged from the connecting plate portions 32F, 32R (second connecting plate portions) when the airbag 20 is deployed. This prevents the load from being concentrated on the mounting boss of the cover 40 or the connecting plate portion of the base member 30, and prevents the cover 40 or base member 30 from breaking and causing fragments to fly off.

[0055] The connection points C2f, C2r (second connection points) are disposed forward of the connection points C1f, C1r (first connection points) in the direction in which the cover 40, pushed by the deploying airbag 20, tries to rotate about the connection points C1f, C1r (first connection points), so that the opening movement of the cover 40 about the connection points C1f, C1r (first connection points) is not impeded. This can promote smooth deployment of the airbag.

[0056] In addition, when the cover 40 is pressed by the airbag 20, at the connection portion between the base member 30 and the inner panel 2a via the clip 50 and the bracket 6 shown in FIG. 6, the mounting hole 33d of the clip base 33 is released from the engagement portion 55 of the clip 50 due to the load transmitted from the airbag 20 to the base member 30 via the cover 40, as shown in FIG. 8. That is, the base member 30 is released from the connection portion 51 of the clip 50, and the cover 40 and the base member 30 are separated from the bracket 6 by the length of the linking portion 57 until the hook portion 56 of the clip 50 is hooked on the seat surface portion 33b of the base member 30. That is, not only is the cover 40 elastically deformed in the opening direction, but the cover 40 and the base member 30 are also separated from the inner panel 2a, so that a two-stage opening operation is performed. This allows the opening A through which the airbag 20 passes to be widened, and the airbag can be smoothly deployed.

[0057] The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and can be modified as appropriate without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. In the above embodiment, two sets of first connection points located far from the airbag 20 and second connection points located close to the airbag 20 are provided on the front and rear sides of the vehicle body of the cover 40, but one set or three or more sets may be provided. In the above embodiment, the connection point C1f (first connection point) on the front side of the vehicle body is connected by a rivet 8, and the connection point C1r (first connection point) on the rear side of the vehicle body is connected by a tapping screw 9A, but either first connection point may be connected by a rivet, a tapping screw, or other connecting device. In the above embodiment, the connection at the second connection points C2f, C2r (second connection points) is released by forming cutout holes 37, 38 in the connecting plate portions 32F, 32R (second connecting plate portions), but the connection at the second connection points may be released by other structures. In the above embodiment, the pillar trim structure (interior structure) of the rear pillar has been described, but the present invention may be applied to other vehicle interior structures, such as a pillar trim structure of a front pillar. [Industrial Applicability]

[0058] The present invention can be applied to a vehicle interior structure in which an airbag is disposed on the rear side of an interior material. [Explanation of symbols]
