Description

[Technical field]

[0001] This application claims priority to Chinese Patent Application No. 2021 / 071902, entitled "DATA TRANSMISSION METHOD AND APPARATUS," filed with the State Intellectual Property Office of the People's Republic of China on January 14, 2021, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety.

[0002] The present application relates to the field of communications, and in particular to a data transmission method and device. [Background technology]

[0003] Multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) or multicast / multicast broadcast service (MBS) is mainly applicable to services aimed at multiple user equipments (UEs), such as live broadcasting and scheduled program playback. Multicast transmission technology is a technology in which MBS services are transmitted to multiple UEs simultaneously through a base station. MBS services may be transmitted to UEs in unicast mode by a network device by establishing a UE-dedicated bearer, or may be transmitted to UEs in multicast mode by establishing a MBS service-dedicated bearer. When multiple UEs need to receive the MBS service, if the MBS service is transmitted in unicast mode, bearers dedicated to multiple UEs need to be established, and such a mode consumes resources, whereas if the MBS service is transmitted to UEs in multicast mode, only a MBS-dedicated bearer needs to be established, and all UEs involved in the service can receive the MBS through the bearer. This reduces air interface resources, improves spectrum utilization, and improves transmission efficiency.

[0004] However, in the multicast and broadcast service, the efficiency of sending a paging indication message from the core network to the base station and then to the UE is too low, and the paging indication message must be triggered for each UE in the group. In addition, the time when the core network / base station starts to send data of the multicast service is unclear. If the UE accesses the network after the core network or base station starts to send data of the multicast service, the UE may miss receiving data of the multicast service sent before the UE accesses the network.

[0005] Therefore, how to optimize the multicast service is a problem to be solved. Summary of the Invention

[0006] The present application provides a data transmission method and apparatus for retransmitting multicast service data that is missed because a terminal equipment does not access an access network device in a timely manner or because a terminal equipment does not receive the multicast service data in a timely manner. [Means for solving the problem]

[0007] According to a first aspect, there is provided a data transmission method. The method includes:

[0008] Referring to the first aspect, in some implementations of the first aspect, an access network device receives first indication information transmitted by a terminal equipment, the first indication information indicating an identifier of a data packet received by the terminal equipment and belonging to a multicast service, the access network device determines a target data packet based on the first indication information, and the access network device transmits the target data packet to the terminal equipment.

[0009] Based on the aforementioned solution, the terminal equipment reports the identifiers of the data packets of the multicast service, so that the access network device can determine the data packets of the multicast service that have been sent but not received by the terminal equipment, i.e. the target data packets, based on the identifier information, and the access network device can retransmit the target data packets to the terminal equipment, thus allowing the terminal equipment to receive the data packets of the multicast service that it has missed.

[0010] Referring to the first aspect, in some implementations of the first aspect, the identifier of a data packet belonging to a multicast service and received at a terminal device is a sequence number of a data packet belonging to a multicast service and received at the terminal device in Point to multipoint (PTM) mode.

The base station may be a base transceiver station (BTS) in a Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) or Code division multiple access (CDMA) network, a Node base station (NB) in a Wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) system, an Evolutional NB (eNB or eNodeB) in a Long Term Evolution (LTE), a radio controller in a Cloud radio access network (CRAN) scenario, a base station device in a future 5G network, or an access network device in a future evolved PLMN network, or a wearable device or an in-vehicle device.

[0094] A Core network (CN) device may be a CN device corresponding to different devices in different systems. For example, in 3G, a core device may correspond to a Serving GPRS support node (SGSN) and / or a Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN) of a General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) technology. In 4G, a core device may correspond to a Mobility management entity (MME) and / or a Serving gateway (S-GW). In 5G, a core device may correspond to, for example, an Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF), a Session Management Function (SMF), or a User plane Function (UPF).

[0095] In order to facilitate understanding of the embodiments of the present application, the following first provides a brief description of related art in the present application.

[0096] (1) UE operation state In 4G systems, the radio resource control (RRC) connection state is classified into an RRC connected state and an RRC idle state. When the UE is powered on and has no connection to the wireless network, the UE is in the idle state. When the UE has data to be transmitted / received, the UE needs to establish a connection to the wireless network, that is, the UE needs to enter a connected state to transmit and receive data.

[0097] Compared to 4G networks, 5G inherits the concepts of RRC idle and RRC connected states. In addition, another state, the RRC inactive state, is introduced in 5G. The three RRC states may be transitioned between each other. The three RRC states are described below.

[0098] RRC connected state: The UE establishes an RRC connection, the UE can transmit and receive dedicated data, and discontinuous reception (DRX) may be used based on the UE activity to reduce air interface resources and UE power consumption.

[0099] RRC idle state RRC_IDLE: The UE has no RRC connection, and the UE performs cell selection and reselection, monitors the paging channel, and performs Tracking area update (TAU).

[0100] RRC Inactive State (RRC_INACTIVE): The RRC inactive state is a new state in 5G that allows the UE to quickly return to a connected state.

[0101] 2. Paging The paging function is initiated by the network side. The purpose of sending Paging to the UE by the gNB and the corresponding state of the UE are listed in Table 1.

[0102] [Table 1]

[0103] The content of the paging message is transmitted to the UE by scrambling the physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) using a paging radio network temporary identifier (P-RNTI) to indicate the physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) resource location. The content of the paging message is transmitted to the UE via the PDSCH resource location, and the PDSCH resource is indicated by the PDCCH scrambled using the P-RNTI. That is, to obtain the paging message, the UE first needs to wake up periodically to monitor the PDCCH channel scrambled using the P-RNTI, and then needs to analyze the downlink control information (DCI) to further obtain the time-frequency location of the PDSCH channel. Finally, the UE analyzes the content of the paging message in the corresponding PDSCH.

[0104] A UE in RRC_IDLE / INACITVE state "wakes up" to receive Paging messages only during predefined periods, and the frequency domain resources occupied by the Paging messages are specified by the PDCCH scrambled with P-RNTI (0xFFFE). During other periods the UE is in sleep state to reduce power consumption and extend UE battery life.

[0105] Paging may be initiated by the core network or by the access network. A short message such as systemInfoModification may be used to specify which fields are carried in the paging. If the paging message carries systemInfoModification, the paging message is used to inform the UE of the system information modification. Table 2 describes the contents represented by different bits in the short message.

[0106] [Table 2]

[0107] 3. Multicast / Multicast Service Configuration Information The configuration information of the multicast / multicast service is configured by the network and sent to the UE. The UE receives the service data of the multicast / multicast service involved through the configuration information. The configuration information of the multicast and multicast service may include, but is not limited to: Service Class: MBS Service / Session ID, Temporary Mobile Group Identifier, corresponding scheduling information and DRX, G-RNTI, and power allocation for physical and logical channels; and Cell level: Protocol stack / radio bearer, where the configuration of the radio bearer may include corresponding configurations of a packet data convergence protocol layer, a radio link control layer, a medium access control layer, and a physical layer.

[0108] Considering NR functionality, the bandwidth of the Bandwidth part (BWP) or MBS service reception is also required. If encryption and / or integrity-based initial protection is applied, the relevant configurations must also be delivered.

[0109] 4. Multicast service reception Currently, the 3GPP standard considers that a base station may transmit multicast services to a UE in Point to Point (PTP) mode and Point to Multi-Point (PTM) mode. The PTM mode is used to transmit multicast services to multiple UEs simultaneously, and the PTP mode is used to transmit data to only one UE. The base station can dynamically use the two modes to transmit data to the same UE. The PDCP layer is shared between the two modes.

[0110] In the prior art, the UE first joins a multicast group, and the UE is released to be in an idle or inactive state before the service starts. When the group needs to transmit data, the CN must trigger a notification to the UE. For example, the CN may use a paging process to notify the UE. When the UE is paged, the UE accesses the network, the CN transmits multicast-related information and the UE associated with the multicast service to the base station serving the UE, and the base station configures an MBS RB for the UE based on the information to receive the multicast service. However, sending a paging message from the CN to the UE via the base station is too inefficient, and a paging message needs to be triggered for each UE in the group. In addition, the CN or the base station cannot determine the appropriate start time to transmit the multicast data. Furthermore, if the CN or the base station starts transmitting multicast data and new UEs access the network during this period, it is unclear how to handle the multicast data that these UEs have missed receiving.

[0111] The triggered paging message for each UE in the group may carry at least one of the following information:

[0112] 1. UE paging identity The UE paging identifier may be the non-access stratum identifier of the UE, for example, 5G-S-TMSI in a 5G communication system. The UE paging identifier has two functions in a 5G communication system. In one aspect, the UE paging identifier needs to be sent to the UE via a UE paging message, so that the UE determines whether the UE has been paged based on the identifier. In another aspect, the access network device needs to calculate a paging occasion based on the identifier. According to 3GPP TS 3804, the calculation of the paging occasion of the UE is related to the result of the non-access stratum identifier mod 1024 (e.g., 5G-S-TMSI mod 1024) of the UE and the DRX cycle used by the UE. The DRX cycle used by the UE is determined based on the Non-Access Stratum (NAS) DRX cycle applied by the UE and the default DRX cycle in the system broadcast. For example, the DRX cycle used by the UE may be determined according to Equation 1 and Equation 2, where Equation 1 represents a method for determining the system frame number of the paging frame, and Equation 2 represents a method for determining the PO index according to the index (i_s). (SFN+PF_offset)mod T=(T div N)×(UE_ID mod N)(Formula 1) i_s=floor(UE_ID / N)mod Ns(Formula 2)

[0113] SFN is the system frame number. PF_offset is the offset used for paging frame (PF) determination. T is the UE DRX cycle (T is determined by the shortest UE specific DRX value, if the DRX value is configured by the RRC layer and / or higher layers, the DRX value is the default DRX value broadcasted in the system information, in RRC idle state (RRC_IDLE), if the UE specified DRX value is not configured by higher layers, the default value applies). N is the total number of paging frames in T. Ns is the number of paging opportunities in PF. UE_ID is the result of 5G-S-TMSI mod 1024.

[0114] 2. UE DRX cycle (optional) The UE DRX cycle is a DRX cycle applied by the UE NAS layer. The UE DRX is an optional function. If the UE NAS layer does not apply a DRX cycle, the paging message does not include the DRX cycle.

[0115] 3. Paging area information (optional) The paging area information may include, for example, a tracking area identity list (TAI list). The paging area information is used by the access network device to send paging only in cells related to the tracking area identity list when the access network device determines paging. For example, an access network device corresponds to 10 cells, and the 10 cells belong to TA 1, TA 2, and TA 3, respectively. If the paging area information carries TA 1, the access network device will send paging messages only in cells that have a corresponding relationship with TA 1.

[0116] 4.UE capability information (optional) Currently, the UE capability information only includes information about the frequency bands supported by the UE, and is used by the access network device to send a paging message when the access network device decides to send the paging message, and the paging message only exists in the frequency bands supported by the UE and only exists in the cells in the TAI list. If the paging message does not carry the UE capability information, the base station will send the paging message to all cells in the TA list.

[0117] 5. Paging priority (optional) The paging priority is used by the base station to determine the priority of sending a paging message, ie, whether to send the paging message with priority when there is a large number of paging messages in the system.

[0118] In view of this, the present application provides a data transmission method, thereby improving the efficiency of paging messages, determining an appropriate time for a CN or a base station to transmit multicast data, and during the process of transmitting multicast data by a CN or a base station, enabling a UE that has accessed a CN or a base station to receive multicast data that it has previously missed, thereby optimizing multicast services.

[0119] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, the embodiments provided in the present application will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0120] 3 is a schematic flow chart of a data transmission method 300 according to an embodiment of the present application. The method 300 may include the following steps.

[0121] In S301, an access network device receives paging indication information sent by a core network device and sends a paging message to a terminal device.

[0122] For example, after receiving the paging indication information sent by the core network device, the access network device may send a paging message to the terminal equipment in the multicast group based on the paging indication information. The paging indication information includes dedicated information and common information of the terminal equipment in the multicast group. The dedicated information includes at least one of paging identifier, discontinuous reception cycle information, and capability information of each terminal equipment. The common information includes at least one of the same paging priority information and tracking area identity list information of each terminal equipment. The access network device obtains a paging opportunity based on the dedicated information and the common information, and sends a paging message to the terminal equipment in the multicast group on the paging opportunity.

[0123] At S302, a core network device determines a transmission time of data of a multicast service.

[0124] For example, one multicast group may include multiple terminal devices, and these terminal devices cannot access the access network device at the same time. Therefore, before transmitting the data of the multicast service to the access network device, the core network device determines the transmission time of the data of the multicast service. In this way, the data of the multicast service can be distributed flexibly.

[0125] At S303, the access network device retransmits to the terminal equipment data packets that belong to the multicast service and have not been received by the terminal equipment.

[0126] For example, when an access network device distributes data of a multicast service and when a terminal equipment is accessing the access network device, the terminal equipment reports an identifier of a data packet of the received multicast service to the access network device, and the access network device distributes data that belongs to the multicast service and has been distributed but not received by the terminal equipment based on the identifier reported by the terminal equipment.

[0127] Step 301 is described in detail below. Figure 4 is a schematic interaction diagram of a data transmission method 400 according to an embodiment of the present application. The method 400 may include the following steps:

[0128] At S401, a core network device generates first information.

[0129] For example, the core network device may generate the first information.

[0130] In one possible embodiment, the first information may include paging indication information, the first information including a service identifier of the multicast service and first parameter information. The first parameter information includes at least one of paging identification information, discontinuous reception cycle information, and capability information of each terminal device in the first set of terminal devices, the first set of terminal devices including at least two terminal devices. The first information further includes second parameter information, the second parameter information including at least one of common paging priority information, and common tracking area identity list information of each terminal device in the second set of terminal devices. The second set of terminal devices includes at least two terminal devices, the second set of terminal devices belonging to the first set of terminal devices.

[0131] Specifically, when the multicast group has data to be transmitted, the core network device needs to notify the terminal equipment that has joined the multicast group that the multicast service is about to start, so that the terminal equipment accesses the access network device to obtain the service. The notification may be sent in a paging procedure. In this embodiment of the present application, the core network device generates first information, and the first information includes a service identifier of the multicast service, and first parameter information. The service identifier of the multicast service is used to notify the access network device of the service identifier for triggering paging. The first parameter information includes at least one of paging identification information, discontinuous reception cycle information, and capability information of each terminal equipment in the first set of terminal equipment. The first set of terminal equipment includes at least one terminal equipment. In addition, the terminal equipment in the first set of terminal equipment is a terminal equipment that has joined the multicast group but is in an RRC idle state. In addition, the first information may further include second parameter information. The second parameter information includes at least one of common paging priority information and common tracking area identity list information of each terminal equipment in the second terminal equipment set. The second terminal equipment set includes at least one terminal equipment, and the second terminal equipment set belongs to the first terminal equipment set. The second parameter information is information of the common part of all terminal equipment in the second terminal equipment set, that is, the paging priority information or tracking area identity list information of all terminal equipment in the second terminal equipment set is the same. The content of the first information is shown in Table 3 and includes information on the UE paging identifier (5G-S-TMSI), UE DRX cycle, tracking area list (TA list) information, and paging capability information.

[0132] [Table 3]

[0133] In another possible embodiment, the first information may include a service identifier of the multicast service and the first parameter information. The first parameter information may include at least one paging index value, and may not need to carry the UE NAS layer identifier. The paging index value is calculated based on the NAS layer identifier of the terminal equipment. For example, the paging index value may be obtained by 5G-S-TMSI mod 1024.

[0134] In a first possible implementation, it should be understood that if the results of the non-access stratum identifier mod 1024 (i.e. the paging index below) and the used DRX cycle (the value of the DRX cycle being a value smaller than the NAS stratum DRX cycle and the default DRX cycle of the cell) of two terminals in the second set of terminal equipment are the same, the paging occasions calculated by the two terminal equipments will be the same. Therefore, it is not necessary for the core network device to transmit to the access network device the non-access stratum identifiers of all terminal equipments and the optional DRX cycles corresponding to all terminal equipments in order for the access network device to be able to calculate the paging occasions. For all terminal equipments having the same results of the non-access stratum identifier mod 1024 and the same NAS stratum DRX cycle, the core network device needs to inform the access network device of only one record thereof.

[0135] Further, the first parameter information may further include at least one of information regarding a NAS layer DRX cycle corresponding to the paging index value, information regarding a tracking area list (TA list), or paging capability information, so that the access network device can send the first message based on the paging index value.

[0136] Optionally, for terminal devices having the same paging index (5G-S-TMSI mod 1024), if the discontinuous reception cycle (DRX cycle) information (if DRX cycle information exists, DRX cycle information is considered, if DRX cycle information does not exist, DRX cycle information is not considered), tracking area list (TA list) information, and paging capability information (if paging capability information exists, paging capability information is considered, if paging capability information does not exist, paging capability information is not considered) of at least two terminal devices are the same, the first parameter may carry the related parameters of only one terminal device. As shown in Table 4, the paging indexes of terminal device a, terminal device b, and terminal device c are the same. However, the DRX cycle information, tracking area list information, and paging capability information of terminal device a are the same as those of terminal device c. In this case, the first parameter may carry parameter information of only terminal device a or only terminal device c. Similarly, the first parameter may carry parameter information of only terminal device e or only terminal device g.

[0137] [Table 4]

[0138] Optionally, for associated terminal devices with the same paging index and the same DRX cycle, the first parameter may include parameter information of only one group of terminal devices, so that the core network device may send only one record information. The tracking area list (TA list) information may be a combination of the tracking area list (TA list) information of all associated terminal devices. In addition, the paging capability information may alternatively be a set of paging capability information of all associated terminal devices, or may not carry paging capability information. As shown in Table 5, since the paging index information and DRX cycle information of the terminal device a are the same as the terminal device d, the tracking area list information and paging capabilities of the terminal device a and the terminal device d may be integrated, thereby obtaining a first parameter including paging index information x, DRX cycle information DRX 1 (320), tracking area list information TA 1, TA 2, and TA 3, and paging capability information Band1, Band2, and Band3. In addition, the paging index information and DRX cycle information of the terminal device b are the same as the terminal device c. In this case, the tracking area list information and paging capabilities of terminal device b and terminal device c may be integrated to obtain a first parameter including paging index information x, tracking area list information TA1, TA2, and TA3.

[0139] [Table 5]

[0140] The result obtained by the combination is shown in Table 6. Based on the result of the combination, the core network device needs to send only two records to the access network device. For example, the core network device may send information corresponding to other columns than the first column of Table 6 to the access network device.

[0141] [Table 6]

[0142] It should be understood that if the tracking area lists (TA lists) corresponding to all paging indexes have the same TAI, the same TAI may be transmitted as a common tracking area identity list (TAI list), and the common tracking area identity list is independent of the paging index set. Therefore, the tracking area identity list actually corresponding to each paging index may be a combination of the common tracking area identity list and the tracking area identity list corresponding to each paging index individually.

[0143] It should be further understood that there may be only one paging priority for the entire paging message, and the paging priority does not need to be set for each terminal device or each paging index.

[0144] In addition, optionally, in the two embodiments described above, if the core network device expects the access network device to transmit paging information carrying a service identifier of the multicast service at all configured paging times, the core network device may not carry information such as paging identity or paging index information of the terminal equipment and DRX cycle information used for calculating paging occasions. For example, if the first information only carries tracking area list information and does not carry paging identity or paging index information of the terminal equipment, the access network device may transmit a paging message at all configured paging times in all cells related to the tracking area list.

[0145] At S402, the core network device sends first information to the access network device.

[0146] For example, after generating the first information, the core network device may transmit the first information to the access network device.

[0147] At S403, the access network device determines a transmission time of the second information.

[0148] For example, after receiving the first information, the access network device may determine a time to deliver second information, where the second information includes service identifier information of the multicast service.

[0149] In one possible embodiment, after receiving the first information, the access network device can calculate all paging occasions based on the paging identifiers of each terminal equipment included in the first parameter information and the discontinuous reception cycle information corresponding to the paging identifiers. A paging occasion is a time when the access network device transmits the second information to the terminal equipment in the multicast group. The access network device may transmit the second information carrying the service identifier on the paging occasions corresponding to each terminal. In addition, the access network device may centrally transmit the second information to the terminal equipment in the second terminal equipment set based on the common information, that is, the access network device needs to transmit the second information to the terminal equipment in the second terminal equipment set only once.

[0150] In another possible embodiment, after receiving the first information, the access network device may calculate a paging occasion corresponding to each paging index (see Equation 1 and Equation 2 above), i.e., a time when the second information is delivered, based on the paging index information included in the first parameter information and the DRX cycle information that may be carried in the first parameter information. The access network device transmits the second information carrying a service identifier on such a paging occasion. Optionally, the area information for transmitting the second information may be determined based on the TA list information corresponding to the paging index, and the frequency band information for transmitting the second information may be determined based on the paging capability information corresponding to the paging index. If the paging capability information does not exist, the access network device may transmit the second information to all cells included in the TA list. If the first information includes a common tracking area identity list corresponding to the paging index, for each paging index, the access network device may determine that the tracking area for transmitting the paging by the paging index is the union of the common tracking area list and the tracking area list corresponding to the paging index.

[0151] Optionally, in the two embodiments described above, if the core network device does not carry information used for calculating the paging occasion, for example, if the core network device does not carry paging identity information or paging index information or terminal equipment DRX cycle information, and the first information can only carry tracking area list information and does not carry terminal equipment paging identity information or paging index information, the access network device may send a paging message on all configured paging occasions in all cells related to the tracking area list. All configured paging occasions in cells refer to paging occasions configured in a cell system broadcast and used for paging.

[0152] At S404, the access network device transmits second information to the first terminal equipment.

[0153] For example, the access network device may transmit the second information to the first terminal equipment, where the first terminal equipment belongs to the first set of terminal equipment. Alternatively, the access network device may transmit the second information to the first terminal equipment on a paging occasion determined based on the paging occasion determined by the first information. Furthermore, when the first information includes the second parameter, the access network device may transmit the second information to the terminal equipment in the second set of terminal equipment in a centralized manner, that is, the access network device needs to transmit the second information to the terminal equipment in the second set of terminal equipment only once.

[0154] Specifically, after receiving the first information, the access network device may send second information, i.e., send a paging message, to the first terminal equipment at the paging occasion. When the first information includes a second parameter, the access network device may send a piece of second information to the terminal equipment in the set of the second terminal equipment based on the second parameter in the first information. After receiving the message, the terminal equipment checks the service identifier of the multicast service. If the terminal equipment participates in the multicast service, the terminal equipment initiates a connection establishment process to access the access network device. Furthermore, the terminal equipment may initiate a request information of the multicast service to the core network device, and the core network device may determine that the terminal equipment has accessed the network based on the request information.

[0155] Based on the above-mentioned solution, the access network device can determine a paging occasion based on the first information, and send the second information to all terminal equipments monitoring the paging time, where the second information carries a service identifier. This overcomes the problem that the efficiency is excessively low due to the need for the access network device to send the paging indication information to each terminal equipment in the multicast group individually, reduces the number of paging indication information sent by the core network to the access network device, and reduces the signaling transmission. Therefore, the transmission efficiency of the paging indication information is greatly improved.

[0156] Step 303 is described in detail below. Figure 5 is a schematic interaction diagram of a data transmission method 500 according to an embodiment of the present application. The method 500 may include the following steps:

[0157] In S501, a terminal device sends first indication information to an access network device.

[0158] For example, the terminal equipment may send first indication information to the access network device, the first indication information indicating an identifier of a data packet that is of a multicast service and that has been received by the terminal equipment, thereby informing the access network device of the identifier of the data packet that is of the multicast service and that has been received by the terminal equipment.

[0159] Specifically, after receiving the target configuration information, the terminal device initializes a receiving window to facilitate receiving the multicast service. In other words, the terminal device receives the PDCP data packets of the multicast service in PTM mode based on the PTM mode configuration information, determines the receiving status of the PDCP data packets received in PTM mode, and sends the first indication information, i.e., sends the identifiers of the data packets of the multicast service and received in PTM mode to the access network device. Specifically, the terminal device may send the first indication information using a PDCP status report, or may report the first indication information to the access network device using RRC signaling. The mode of sending the first indication information by the terminal device is not limited in the present application.

[0160] For example, after receiving the target configuration information, the terminal device receives data packets of a multicast service in PTM mode based on the G-RNTI, performs data processing, and then sends an identifier of the data packet to the access network device. The identifier of the data packet of the multicast service received at the terminal device may be a sequence number of the data packet of the multicast service received at the terminal device in PTM mode, and may further be a sequence number of the first data packet of the multicast service received at the terminal device in PTM mode.

[0161] It should be understood that the terminal equipment can transmit to the access network device the sequence number of the first data packet of the multicast service received in PTM mode at the terminal equipment, the sequence number of the received data packet with the smallest sequence number, or the sequence numbers of all received data packets, which is not limited in this application.

[0162] Optionally, before receiving the first indication information, the access network device may send second request information to the terminal equipment, where the second request information is used to request the terminal equipment to report the first indication information.

[0163] In one possible embodiment, before the access network device receives the first indication information of the terminal equipment, the access network device may receive second indication information sent by the core network device, where the second indication information indicates that the terminal equipment needs to receive data packets of the multicast service. This helps the access network device to determine that the terminal equipment needs to receive data packets of the multicast service. The second indication information may be carried in signaling related to the terminal, for example, a PDU session establishment message for the terminal, an initial context setup message, and an initial context modification message. Specifically, the second indication information may indicate a QoS flow corresponding to the multicast service that needs to be received by the terminal. Alternatively, the second indication information may be carried in a multicast service establishment message. For example, the indication information is a multicast service establishment message carrying a UE identifier, where the UE identifier indicates that the UE needs to receive the multicast service.

[0164] Optionally, before receiving the second instruction information, the access network device may send first request information to the core network device, where the first request information is used to request the core network device to deliver the second instruction information.

[0165] In another possible embodiment, the core network device may transmit to the access network device information about the cell and third indication information, the third indication information indicating that the terminal in the first state and in the cell receives the multicast service. For example, the third indication information indicates whether the terminal in the first state receives the multicast service in the cell, indicates the number of terminals in the first state receiving the multicast service in the cell, or indicates terminal identities of terminals in the first state receiving the multicast service in the cell. The first state may be an RRC idle state, an RRC inactive state, or a combination of an RRC idle state and an RRC inactive state. The third indication information may also be carried in a multicast service establishment message or in a signaling related to the terminal equipment, such as a protocol data unit session establishment message for the terminal equipment, an initial context setup message, and an initial context modification message. The second indication information and the third indication information may be carried in the same message or in different messages. Alternatively, the second indication information and the third indication information may be transmitted independently. For example, only the second instruction information is sent and the third instruction information is not sent, or only the third instruction information is sent and the second instruction information is not sent. The present application is not limited thereto.

[0166] Optionally, because the access network device needs to determine whether the terminal equipment needs to receive data packets of the multicast service, the access network device needs to send first request information to request the core network device to deliver second indication information, where the second indication information indicates that the terminal equipment needs to receive data packets of the multicast service.

[0167] Further, after receiving the second indication information, the access network device may determine target configuration information.

[0168] For example, the access network device determines that the terminal equipment needs to receive data packets of a multicast service, and configures target configuration information for the terminal equipment, where the target configuration information is configuration information of the multicast service of the terminal equipment, and the configuration information further includes PTM mode configuration information and PTP mode configuration information, where the PTM mode uses G-RNTI to receive the multicast data, and the PTP mode uses C-RNTI to receive the multicast data.

[0169] In one possible embodiment, after being informed by the core network device that the terminal equipment needs to receive data packets of the multicast service, the access network device configures, for the terminal equipment, configuration information of a Multimedia broadcast multicast service radio bearer (MRB) MRB for receiving data of the multicast service. Furthermore, the MRB configuration information includes PTM mode configuration information and PTP mode configuration information. The PTM configuration information may include G-RNTI configuration information, RLC configuration information and other configuration information. The PTP mode configuration information may include RLC configuration information and other configuration information. Optionally, the access network device further configures control information of a PDCP reception window of the MRB of the terminal equipment, so that the terminal equipment can set an initial position of the PDCP reception window of the MRB based on the control information.

[0170] In another possible embodiment, the access network device determines based on the third indication information that there is a terminal device in the second state that receives the multicast service, and the access network device determines that the target configuration information includes PTM configuration information, so that the access network device transmits the multicast service to the terminal devices in the second state in the cell based on the PTM configuration. Since the terminal devices in the second state do not have an uplink feedback channel, the access network device cannot know the channel state of these terminal devices and can only perform PTM scheduling based on the cell edge coverage. Alternatively, if it is determined based on the third indication information that none of the terminal devices in the second state receives the multicast service, the access network device may perform PTM or PTP scheduling based on the terminal devices that are not in the first state (terminal devices in the RRC connected state). The third indication information may be used to avoid scheduling problems caused by a situation in which the access network device does not know whether there is a terminal device in the second state in the cell. For example, if there are no terminal devices in the second state in the cell, but the access network device does not know that there are no terminal devices, then according to a conservative policy, only terminal devices at the edge of the cell can be scheduled, resulting in low scheduling efficiency.

[0171] Further, after determining the target configuration information of the terminal equipment, the access network device transmits the target configuration information to the terminal equipment.

[0172] In one possible embodiment, the initial sequence number of the PDCP receiving window of the unicast service starts from 0. However, in the case of a multicast service, it is not always appropriate that the initial sequence number of the PDCP receiving window of the multicast service starts from 0, since the multicast service may already be in transmission when the terminal equipment accesses the multicast service. In this case, if the access network device configures a control parameter of the receiving window for the terminal equipment, the terminal equipment may adjust the position of the receiving window by changing the control parameter. For example, if the access network device informs the terminal equipment that the initial sequence number of the receiving window of the multicast service is 100, the terminal equipment may directly set the initial sequence number of the receiving window of the multicast service to 100, and the access network device may change the initial position of the receiving window using data packets that are of the multicast service and are buffered by the MRB. For example, during data packet transmission, the sequence number of the data packet transmitted by the access network device using the multicast service is 150, but data packets with sequence numbers between 130 and 150 are still stored in the buffer. In this case, the terminal equipment may be informed to change the initial position of the receiving window to 130. In this way, the access network device can transmit data packets with sequence numbers 130 to 150 to the terminal equipment in PTP mode. This situation may also occur in the handover process. For example, when the UE is handed over from another base station to the current base station, the data transmitted before the UE receives the first data packet from the current base station in PTM mode and after the UE receives the last data packet from another station need to be transmitted to the UE in PTP mode.

[0173] In another possible embodiment, if the access network device determines based on the third indication information that the terminal equipment in the second state receives the multicast service, the step of the access network device transmitting the target configuration information to the terminal equipment after the access network device determines the target configuration information of the terminal equipment includes a step of transmitting the target configuration information to the terminal equipment in the second state via a broadcast channel or a multicast control channel (MCCH), where the terminal equipment in the second state can only receive the service in the PTM manner and cannot perform auxiliary transmission in the PTP mode, or a step of transmitting the target configuration information to the terminal equipment via dedicated signaling before the terminal equipment in the second state enters the second state. It should be understood that since the terminal equipment in the second state can only receive the service in the PTM manner and cannot perform auxiliary transmission in the PTP mode, the terminal equipment in this state cannot perform the subsequent step of retransmitting the data packet to the terminal equipment.

[0174] At S502, the access network device determines a target data packet.

[0175] For example, after receiving the first indication information, the access network device determines a target data packet based on the first indication information.

[0176] Specifically, after receiving sequence numbers of data packets of a multicast service and received in PTM mode by a terminal equipment, the access network device determines, based on the sequence numbers, data packets that need to be transmitted to the terminal equipment in PTP mode, i.e., target data packets.

[0177] At S503, the access network device transmits a targeted data packet to the terminal equipment.

[0178] For example, after determining the target data packet, the access network device transmits the target data packet to the terminal equipment.

[0179] For example, if the terminal equipment indicates through the first indication information that the first data packet belongs to a multicast service and that the sequence number of the first data packet received by the terminal equipment in PTM mode is 15, the access network device uses the data packets with sequence numbers 1 to 14 as target data packets and transmits the target data packets to the terminal equipment in PTP mode.

[0180] It should be understood that in this embodiment of the present application, the terminal equipment can access the access network during the period when the access network device transmits the data packets of the multicast service and receive the data packets of the multicast service. Alternatively, the terminal equipment may receive the data packets of the multicast service while accessing the access network device, which is performed during the process when the access network device transmits the data packets of the multicast service. This is not limited in the present application.

[0181] Based on the aforementioned solution, the terminal equipment feeds back identifiers of data packets belonging to a multicast service and received in PTM mode to the access network device, and the access network device can determine the data packets sent in PTM mode but not received by the terminal equipment, i.e., target data packets, based on the identifier information reported by the terminal equipment, and send the target data packets in PTP mode to the terminal equipment. In this way, the terminal equipment can receive the missed data packets belonging to a multicast service and sent by the access network device, because the terminal equipment accesses the access network device in the process of sending the data packets of the multicast service, or the terminal equipment starts receiving the data packets when the access network device sends the data packets of the multicast service.

[0182] 6A and 6B are schematic interaction diagrams of a data transmission method 600 according to an embodiment of the present application. The method 600 may include the following steps.

[0183] In S601, a first terminal device and a second terminal device join a multicast service.

[0184] For example, the first terminal device and the second terminal device can obtain a service identifier of the multicast service or a multicast address of the multicast service in advance, and send non-access stratum signaling to a core network device to request joining a multicast group, or use the joining process of the Internet Group Management Protocol to join the multicast service based on the multicast address of the multicast service.

[0185] At S602, a core network device generates first information.

[0186] For example, the core network device can generate first information, and the first information may include paging indication information, and the first information includes a service identifier of a multicast service, and first parameter information, and the first parameter information includes at least one of paging identification information, discontinuous reception cycle information, and capability information of each terminal device in the first set of terminal devices, and the first set of terminal devices includes at least two terminal devices. In addition, the first information may further include second parameter information, and the second parameter information includes at least one of common paging priority information, and common tracking area identity list information of each terminal device in the second set of terminal devices, and the second set of terminal devices includes at least two terminal devices, and the second set of terminal devices belongs to the first set of terminal devices. For a specific description of the first information, please refer to the description of the first information in S401. For the sake of brevity, details will not be described again here in this application.

[0187] At S603, the core network device sends first information to the access network device.

[0188] For example, after generating the first information, the core network device may transmit the first information to the access network device.

[0189] At S604, the access network device determines a transmission time of the second information.

[0190] For example, after receiving the first information, the access network device may determine the transmission time of the second information. For a specific description of the step of determining the transmission time of the second information by the access network device, please refer to the description of the step of determining the transmission time of the first information in step S403. For the sake of brevity, the details will not be described again here in this application.

[0191] At S605, the access network device transmits second information to the first terminal equipment and the second terminal equipment.

[0192] For example, the access network device may transmit the second information to the first terminal equipment and the second terminal equipment.

[0193] Specifically, after receiving the first information, the access network device transmits the first information, i.e., transmits a paging message, to the first terminal equipment and the second terminal equipment in the multicast group at the paging occasion. The access network device may centrally transmit the second information to the terminal equipment in the second set of terminal equipment according to the second parameter in the first information, i.e., the access network device needs to transmit the second information to the terminal equipment in the second set of terminal equipment only once.

[0194] At S606, the first terminal device establishes a network connection to the access network device.

[0195] For example, after receiving the first information, the first terminal equipment may check the service identifier of the multicast service. If the first terminal equipment participates in the multicast service, the first terminal equipment may initiate a connection establishment process to access the access network device. Furthermore, the first terminal equipment may initiate a request information of the multicast service to the core network device, and the core network device may determine that the first terminal equipment has accessed the network based on the request information.

[0196] At S607, the core network device sends the third information to the access network device.

[0197] For example, the core network device may send third information to the access network device, where the third information includes parameter information of the multicast service.

[0198] Specifically, after confirming that the first terminal equipment is accessing the network, the core network device configures transmission parameters of the multicast service for the access network device and sends the parameter information of the multicast service to the access network device. For example, the access network device may send a quality of service information parameter of the multicast service to be transmitted to the access network device, and notify the access network device that the first terminal equipment needs to receive the data of the multicast service. In addition, the access network device may configure an MRB for receiving the multicast service for the first terminal equipment based on the parameter information of the multicast service, and after receiving the multicast service data distributed by the core network device, the access network device may send the multicast service data to the first terminal equipment through the MRB.

[0199] At S608, the core network device determines a transmission time of the fourth information.

[0200] For example, the core network device may determine a transmission time of the fourth information, where the fourth information includes data of a multicast service, i.e., the core network device may determine a transmission time of the data of the multicast service to be transmitted to the access network device.

[0201] In one possible embodiment, the core network device may determine the transmission time of the fourth information based on the delay requirement of the multicast service of the terminal equipment in the multicast group. For services with high delay requirements, the access network device may wait until the transmission time of the fourth information is earlier than the delay requirement before transmitting data of the multicast service to the access network device, thereby reserving time for the access network device to deliver data to the terminal equipment. For services with low delay requirements, the access network device may start transmission when the access ratio of the terminal equipment accessing the access network device reaches a preset threshold.

[0202] In another possible embodiment, the core network device may determine the transmission time of the fourth information based on the reliability requirements of the multicast service of the terminal equipment in the multicast group. For a service that does not require packet loss, the access network device may transmit the fourth information after all the terminal equipment in the multicast group have accessed the access network device.

[0203] In another possible embodiment, the access network device may determine the transmission time of the fourth information based on the discontinuous reception cycle information of the terminal equipment in the multicast group. Generally, the terminal equipment accesses the access network device after receiving the paging indication message only once in the discontinuous reception cycle, and the core network device transmits the fourth information after the discontinuous reception cycle ends. In this case, the terminal equipment that receives the paging indication message has basically already accessed the access network device.

[0204] In another possible embodiment, the core network device may determine the transmission time of the fourth information based on the ratio of the number of terminal equipments in the multicast group that are accessing the access network device to the number of terminal equipments in the multicast group. The core network device may transmit the fourth information after a certain ratio of the terminal equipments access the access network device. For example, if 95% of the terminal equipments in the multicast group access the access network device, the core network may transmit the fourth information to the access network device. The ratio may be a preset fixed ratio, or may be a ratio configured based on an operation management and maintenance platform. This is not limited in the present application.

[0205] It should be understood that the core network device may alternatively transmit the fourth information to the access network device, and the access network device may determine a transmission time for delivering the fourth information. For example, the access network device may deliver the fourth information based on a requirement of the multicast service of the terminal equipment.

[0206] At S609, the core network device sends the fourth information to the access network device.

[0207] For example, after determining the transmission time of the fourth information, the core network device may transmit the fourth information to the access network device.

[0208] At S610, the access network device transmits the fourth information to the first terminal equipment.

[0209] For example, after receiving the fourth information sent by the core network device, the access network device sends the fourth information to the first terminal equipment.

[0210] At S611, a second terminal device establishes a network connection to an access network device.

[0211] For example, the second terminal device may initiate an establishment process to access the access network device, and may also initiate request information for a multicast service to the core network device, and the core network device may determine that the second terminal device has accessed the network based on the request information.

[0212] At S612, the access network device sends the fifth information to the core network device.

[0213] Optionally, since the access network device needs to determine whether the second terminal equipment needs to receive the data packets of the multicast service, the access network device needs to send fifth information to request the core network device to deliver sixth information, thereby indicating that the second terminal equipment needs to receive the data packets of the multicast service.

[0214] Specifically, the access network device may send fifth information to the core network device, where the fifth information is used to request the core network device to deliver sixth information, where the sixth information indicates that the second terminal equipment needs to receive data packets of the multicast service, and helps the access network device to determine that the second terminal equipment needs to receive data packets of the multicast service.

[0215] At S613, the core network device sends sixth information to the access network device.

[0216] For example, the core network device may transmit the sixth information to the access network device.

[0217] Optionally, the core network device may send sixth information to the access network device based on the fifth information.

[0218] At S614, the access network device determines target configuration information.

[0219] For example, the access network device determines that a second terminal device needs to receive data packets of a multicast service, and configures target configuration information for the second terminal device, where the target configuration information is configuration information of the multicast service of the second terminal device, and the configuration information further includes PTM mode configuration information and PTP mode configuration information. For a specific description of the target configuration information, please refer to the description of the target configuration information in step 501. For the sake of brevity, the details will not be described again here in this application.

[0220] At S615, the access network device transmits the target configuration information to the second terminal equipment.

[0221] For example, after determining the target configuration information of the second terminal device, the access network device may send the target configuration information to the second terminal device. For a specific description of the sending of the target configuration information, please refer to the description of the sending of the target configuration information in step 501. For the sake of brevity, the details will not be described again here in this application.

[0222] At S616, the access network device transmits the seventh information to the second terminal equipment.

[0223] Optionally, the access network device may send seventh information to the second terminal equipment, and the seventh information is used to request the second terminal equipment to report eighth information. The eighth information indicates an identifier of a data packet of the multicast service received by the second terminal equipment, thereby notifying the access network device of an identifier of a data packet of the multicast service received by the second terminal equipment. For a specific description of the eighth information, please refer to the description of the first indication information in step 501. For the sake of brevity, the details will not be described again here in this application.

[0224] At S617, the second terminal equipment transmits eighth information to the access network device.

[0225] For example, the second terminal equipment may transmit eighth information to the access network device, thereby informing the access network device of an identifier of a data packet that is of the multicast service and that has been received by the second terminal equipment.

[0226] Optionally, the second terminal equipment may transmit eighth information to the access network device based on the seventh information.

[0227] At S618, the access network device determines a target data packet.

[0228] For example, the access network device receives the seventh information and determines the target data packet based on the seventh information.

[0229] Specifically, after receiving an identifier of a data packet belonging to a multicast service and received in PTM mode at a second terminal equipment, the access network device may determine, based on the identifier, a data packet that needs to be transmitted in PTP mode to the second terminal equipment, i.e. a target data packet.

[0230] At S619, the access network device transmits the target data packet to the second terminal equipment.

[0231] For example, after determining the target data packet, the access network device may transmit the target data packet to a second terminal equipment.

[0232] For a specific description of the sending of the target data packet, please refer to the description of the sending of the target data packet in step 503. For the sake of brevity, the details will not be described again here in this application.

[0233] Based on the above-mentioned solution, the access network device can send the same paging message to the terminal equipment in the set of the second terminal equipment containing the common information based on the common information in the first information, thereby avoiding sending different paging messages to different terminal equipment. This greatly improves the paging message transmission efficiency. In addition, the core network device determines the transmission time of the third information, so that the core network device can transmit the data of the multicast service to the access network device at a more appropriate time. This improves the flexibility of the transmission of the data of the multicast service by the core network device or the access network device. In addition, the second terminal device feeds back the identifiers of the data packets of the multicast service and received in PTM mode to the access network device, so that the access network device can determine the data packets that have been transmitted but not received by the second terminal equipment based on the identifiers, and retransmit such data packets in PTP mode to the second terminal equipment. Thus, the second terminal equipment can receive the data packets of the multicast service that it has missed. Thus, the effect of multicast service optimization is achieved.
