Description

[Technical field]

[0001] This application claims the benefit of the filing date of Korean Patent Application No. 10-2019-0175166, filed with the Korean Intellectual Property Office on December 26, 2019, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.

[0002] The present specification relates to a heterocyclic compound, an organic light-emitting device containing the same, and a composition for an organic layer of an organic light-emitting device. [Background technology]

[0003] An electroluminescent device is a type of self-luminous display device, and has advantages such as a wide viewing angle, excellent contrast, and fast response speed.

[0004] An organic light-emitting device has a structure in which an organic thin film is disposed between two electrodes. When a voltage is applied to an organic light-emitting device having such a structure, electrons and holes injected from the two electrodes combine in the organic thin film to form pairs, and then disappear, emitting light. The organic thin film may be composed of a single layer or multiple layers as required.

[0005] The material of the organic thin film may have a light-emitting function as necessary. For example, the material of the organic thin film may be a compound that can form a light-emitting layer by itself, or a compound that plays the role of a host or dopant in a host-dopant light-emitting layer. In addition, the material of the organic thin film may be a compound that plays the role of hole injection, hole transport, electron block, hole block, electron transport, electron injection, etc.

[0006] There is a continuing need to develop materials for organic thin films to improve the performance, lifetime or efficiency of organic light emitting devices. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0036] In this specification, the term "arylene group" refers to an aryl group having two bonding positions, i.e., a divalent group. The above description of the aryl group is applicable except that each of these is a divalent group. The term "heteroarylene group" refers to a heteroaryl group having two bonding positions, i.e., a divalent group. The above description of the heteroaryl group is applicable except that each of these is a divalent group.

[0037] In this specification, the term "adjacent" groups may refer to a substituent substituted on an atom directly bonded to the atom on which the substituent is substituted, a substituent sterically closest to the substituent, or another substituent substituted on the atom on which the substituent is substituted. For example, two substituents substituted at the ortho positions on a benzene ring and two substituents substituted on the same carbon on an aliphatic ring may be interpreted as "adjacent" groups to each other.

[0038] In this specification, when "a substituent is not shown in a chemical formula or compound structure," it means that a hydrogen atom is bonded to a carbon atom. However, deuterium ( 2 H, Deuterium) is an isotope of hydrogen, so some hydrogen atoms may be deuterium.

[0039] In one embodiment of the present application, "when no substituent is shown in the chemical formula or the structure of the compound", it can mean that all positions substitutable as a substituent are hydrogen or deuterium. In other words, in the case of deuterium, which is an isotope of hydrogen, some of the hydrogen atoms may be deuterium, which is an isotope of hydrogen, and in this case, the content of deuterium may be 0% to 100%.

[0040] In one embodiment of the present application, in the case where "substituents are not shown in the chemical formula or the structure of the compound", if the deuterium content is 0%, the hydrogen content is 100%, and the substituents do not clearly exclude hydrogen and deuterium, hydrogen and deuterium may be used together in the compound.

[0041] In one embodiment of the present application, deuterium is one of the isotopes of hydrogen and is an element having a deuteron consisting of one proton and one neutron as an atomic nucleus, and can be represented as hydrogen-2, and its atomic symbol can also be written as D or 2H.

[0042] In one embodiment of the present application, isotopes refer to atoms with the same atomic number (Z) but different mass numbers (A). Isotopes can also be interpreted as elements with the same number of protons but different numbers of neutrons.

[0043] In one embodiment of the present application, the content T% of a specific substituent can be defined as T2 / T1×100=T%, where T1 is the total number of substituents that the base compound may have and T2 is the number of specific substituents among the total number of substituents.

[0044] That is, in one example, [ka] In the case of a phenyl group represented by the formula, a deuterium content of 20% can be expressed as 20% when the total number of substituents that the phenyl group can have is 5 (T1 in the formula), of which the number of deuterium is 1 (T2 in the formula). That is, a phenyl group having a deuterium content of 20% can be expressed by the following structural formula.

[0045] [ka] In addition, in one embodiment of the present application, a "phenyl group having a deuterium content of 0%" can mean a phenyl group that does not contain a deuterium atom, that is, a phenyl group that has 5 hydrogen atoms.

[0046] In one embodiment of the present application, there is provided a heterocyclic compound represented by formula 1:

[0047] [ka] In the above formula 1, L1 and L2 are the same or different and each independently represents a direct bond; a substituted or unsubstituted arylene group having 6 to 60 carbon atoms; or a substituted or unsubstituted heteroarylene group having 2 to 60 carbon atoms; X is O; S; or NRa; Y1 to Y5 are the same or different from each other and each independently represents N or CRb, and at least one of Y1 to Y5 is N, and when CRb is 2 or more, each Rb is the same or different from each other, R1 is represented by the following formula A, R2 to R9 are each hydrogen; deuterium; a halogen group; a cyano group; a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group; a substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkyl group; a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group having 6 to 40 carbon atoms; or a substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl group having 2 to 40 carbon atoms; The Ra is a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group having 6 to 40 carbon atoms, said Rb is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen; deuterium; a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group having 6 to 60 carbon atoms; and a substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl group having 2 to 60 carbon atoms, or two or more adjacent groups are bonded to each other to form a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon ring having 6 to 60 carbon atoms or a substituted or unsubstituted heterocycle having 2 to 60 carbon atoms; m and n are each independently an integer of 0 to 3, and when m and n are each 2 or more, the substituents in the parentheses are the same or different. p is 0 or 1; [ka] In the formula A, L 11 and L 12 are the same or different and each independently represent a direct bond; a substituted or unsubstituted arylene group having 6 to 40 carbon atoms; or a substituted or unsubstituted heteroarylene group having 2 to 40 carbon atoms, Ar 11 and Ar 12 are the same or different and are each independently selected from the group consisting of a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group having 6 to 40 carbon atoms; and a substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl group having 2 to 40 carbon atoms, or the Ar 11 and Ar 12are bonded to each other to form a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon ring having 6 to 60 carbon atoms or a substituted or unsubstituted heterocycle having 2 to 60 carbon atoms, a and b are each 0 or 1; [ka] means the position at which it bonds to L1 in formula 1.

[0048] The compound represented by formula 1 has a donor with good hole transport ability and an acceptor with good electron transport ability in one molecule, and has a steric configuration by fixing a substituent at the 11th position of naphthobenzofuran. Since the HOMO (Highest Occupied Molecular Orbital) and LUMO (HOMO (Lowest ighest Unoccupied Molecular Orbital)) are spatially separated, strong charge transfer is possible. Therefore, when used as an organic material in an organic light emitting device, high efficiency is expected.

However, the structure of the organic light-emitting device is not limited thereto, and may include a smaller number of organic layers.

[0183] In the organic light emitting device of the present application, the organic material layer includes an emission layer, and the emission layer may include a heterocyclic compound. When the heterocyclic compound is used in the emission layer, a homo (HOMO, highest occupied molecular orbital) and a lumo (LUMO, HOMO, lowest ighest unoccupied molecular orbital) are spatially separated to enable strong charge transfer, so that the organic light emitting device can have excellent driving efficiency and life. The organic light emitting device can have excellent driving, efficiency, and life.

The light-emitting material may be a fluorescent material or a phosphorescent material. The light-emitting material may be a material that emits light by combining holes and electrons injected from the anode and cathode, respectively, or a material in which both the host material and the dopant material are involved in light emission may be used.

[0197] When the hosts of the light-emitting materials are mixed, the hosts may be of the same series or different series. For example, two or more of either n-type host materials or p-type host materials may be selected and used as the host material of the light-emitting layer.

[0198] In the organic light-emitting device of the present application, the organic layer includes a light-emitting layer, and the light-emitting layer can include a heterocyclic compound as a host material for light-emitting materials.

[0237] [Experimental Example] <Experimental Example 1> 1) Preparation of organic light-emitting device (red host) A glass substrate coated with a thin film of indium tin oxide (ITO) to a thickness of 1,500 Å was ultrasonically cleaned in distilled water. After the distilled water cleaning was completed, the substrate was ultrasonically cleaned with solvents such as acetone, methanol, and isopropyl alcohol, dried, and then treated with UVO for 5 minutes using UV in a UV cleaner. The substrate was then transferred to a plasma cleaner (PT) and plasma treated in a vacuum state to remove the ITO work function and residual film, and then transferred to a thermal evaporation device for organic deposition.

[0238] A common layer, a hole injection layer 2-TNATA (4,4',4''-Tris[2-naphthyl(phenyl)amino]triphenylamine) and a hole transport layer NPB (N,N'-Di(1-naphthyl)-N,N'-diphenyl-(1,1'-biphenyl)-4,4'-diamine), were formed on the ITO transparent electrode (anode).

[0239] An emitting layer was formed thereon by thermal vacuum deposition as follows: The emitting layer was formed by depositing 500 Å of the following compound A as a host and red phosphorescent dopant (piq)2(Ir)(acac) doped with 3 wt% (piq)2(Ir)(acac). Then, 60 Å of BCP was deposited as a hole blocking layer, and 200 Å of Alq3 was deposited on top of that as an electron transport layer.

[0240] Finally, lithium fluoride (LiF) was deposited on the electron transport layer to a thickness of 10 Å to form an electron injection layer, and then an aluminum (Al) cathode was deposited on the electron injection layer to a thickness of 1,200 Å to form a cathode, thereby fabricating an organic light emitting device (Comparative Example 1).

[0241] On the other hand, all organic compounds required for OLED device production are 10- 6 ~10- 8 It was purified by vacuum sublimation under torr and used for OLED fabrication.

[0242] Organic light-emitting devices of Comparative Examples 2 to 4 and Examples 1 to 65 were additionally prepared in the same manner, except that the compounds shown in Table 6 below were used instead of Compound A used as the host of the light-emitting layer in the manufacturing process of the organic light-emitting device of Experimental Example 1.

[0243] Specifically, the compounds used as hosts in the light-emitting layers in Examples 1 to 65 and Comparative Examples 1 to 4 are as shown in Table 6 below.

[0244] At this time, compounds A to D of Comparative Examples 1 to 4 in Table 6 below are as follows.

[0245] [ka]

[0246] 2) Driving voltage and luminous efficiency of organic light-emitting devices The electroluminescence (EL) characteristics of the organic electroluminescent devices of Examples 1 to 65 and Comparative Examples 1 to 4 prepared as described above were measured using M7000 from Mac Science Co., Ltd. Based on the measurement results, a reference luminance of 6,000 cd / m was measured using a lifespan measurement device (M6000) manufactured by Mac Science Co., Ltd. 2 When T 90 was measured.

[0247] The measured characteristics of the organic light-emitting device of the present invention are shown in Table 6 below.

[0248] [Table 6] TIFF0007651192000085.tif232169 TIFF0007651192000086.tif151169

[0249] From the experimental example 1, it was confirmed that the driving voltage and efficiency can be improved when the heterocyclic compound of the formula 1 is used as a host for the organic layer, particularly the light-emitting layer, of an organic light-emitting device. Specifically, in the case of the examples 1 to 65 using the heterocyclic compound of the formula 1, as compared with the comparative examples 1 to 4, the resonance effect increases as the number of benzene rings in the central structure increases, and it was confirmed that it is suitable as a red host. In addition, it has a donor with good hole transporting ability and an acceptor with good electron transporting ability simultaneously in one molecule, and has a steric configuration by fixing a substituent to the 11th position of naphthobenzofuran, and the homo (HOMO, Highest Occupied Molecular Orbital) and the lumo (HOMO, Lowest ighest Unoccupied Molecular Orbital) are spatially separated, enabling strong charge transfer, so that it is confirmed that high efficiency can be expected when used as an organic material in an organic light-emitting device.

[0250] In addition, by comparing Examples 1 to 57 with Examples 58 to 65, it was confirmed that the driving voltage is relatively lower when the hole unit corresponding to R1 in Formula 1 is an amine group than when it is a carbazole group. This is believed to be because when the hole unit corresponding to R1 is an amine group, the hole mobility is relatively faster than when it is a carbazole group, and light can be emitted at a low voltage.

[0251] <Experimental Example 2> 1) Preparation of organic light-emitting device (red host) A glass substrate coated with a thin film of indium tin oxide (ITO) to a thickness of 1,500 Å was ultrasonically cleaned in distilled water.

[0252] A common layer, a hole injection layer 2-TNATA (4,4',4''-Tris[2-naphthyl(phenyl)amino]triphenylamine) and a hole transport layer NPB (N,N'-Dinaphthyl)-N,N'-diphenyl-(1,1'-biphenyl)-4,4'-diamine), were formed on the ITO transparent electrode (anode).

[0253] An emitting layer was formed thereon by thermal vacuum deposition as follows: The emitting layer was formed by depositing heterocyclic compound 5 of the present invention as a first host and compound 1-1 as a second host as one supply source, and by doping the host with 3 wt% of (piq)2(Ir)(acac) as a red phosphorescent dopant (piq)2(Ir)(acac) and depositing it to a thickness of 500 Å. Then, BCP was deposited to a thickness of 60 Å as a hole blocking layer, and Alq3 was deposited to a thickness of 200 Å as an electron transport layer thereon.

[0254] Finally, lithium fluoride (LiF) was deposited on the electron transport layer to a thickness of 10 Å to form an electron injection layer, and then an aluminum (Al) cathode was deposited on the electron injection layer to a thickness of 1,200 Å to form a cathode, thereby fabricating an organic light emitting device (Example 66).

[0255] On the other hand, all organic compounds required for OLED device production are 10- 6 ~10- 8 It was purified by vacuum sublimation under torr and used for OLED fabrication.

[0256] Organic light-emitting devices of Examples 66 to 113 were additionally prepared in the same manner, except that the compounds shown in Table 7 below were used instead of Compound 1-1 used as the second host in the light-emitting layer in the manufacturing process of the organic light-emitting device of Experimental Example 2.

[0257] Specifically, the compounds used as the first host and the second host in the emitting layer in Examples 66 to 113 are as shown in Table 7 below.

[0258] 2) Driving voltage and luminous efficiency of organic light-emitting devices The electroluminescence (EL) characteristics of the organic light emitting devices of Examples 66 to 113 prepared as described above were measured using the M7000 from Mac Science Co., Ltd., and the measurement results were used to measure the reference luminance of 6,000 cd / m2 or less through a lifespan measuring device (M6000) manufactured by Mac Science Co., Ltd. 2 When T 95 was measured.

[0259] The measured characteristics of the organic light-emitting device of the present invention are shown in Table 7 below.

[0260] In this case, compounds 1-1 to 1-14 in the following Table 7 are as follows: Compounds 1-1 to 1-14 are p-Host (p-type host) compounds having excellent hole transporting ability.

[0261] [ka]

[0262] [Table 7] TIFF0007651192000089.tif177165

[0263] From the above Experimental Example 2, it was confirmed that when the heterocyclic compound of the present invention is used as the first host in the organic layer, particularly the light-emitting layer, of an organic light-emitting device, and a specific compound having excellent hole transporting ability is used as the second host, the driving voltage and efficiency can be improved. Specifically, it was confirmed that when the compounds 1-1 to 1-14 having hole transporting ability are used in combination with the heterocyclic compound of the present invention, the degradation phenomenon caused by the accumulation of electrons generated from the heterocyclic compound of the present invention can be reduced, and the problem of life can be improved.

The substrate was then transferred to a plasma cleaner (PT) and plasma treated in a vacuum state to remove the ITO work function and residual film, and then transferred to a thermal evaporation device for organic deposition.

[0265] A common layer, a hole injection layer 2-TNATA (4,4',4''-Tris[2-naphthyl(phenyl)amino]triphenylamine) and a hole transport layer NPB (N,N'-Di(1-naphthyl)-N,N'-diphenyl-(1,1'-biphenyl)-4,4'-diamine), were formed on the ITO transparent electrode (anode).

[0266] An emitting layer was formed thereon by thermal vacuum deposition as follows: The emitting layer was formed by depositing heterocyclic compound 14 of the present invention as a first host and compound 2-1 as a second host as one supply source, and was deposited to a thickness of 500 Å by doping the host with 3 wt% of (piq)2(Ir)(acac) using red phosphorescent dopant (piq)2(Ir)(acac). Then, 60 Å of BCP was deposited as a hole blocking layer, and 200 Å of Alq3 was deposited thereon as an electron transport layer.

[0267] Finally, lithium fluoride (LiF) was deposited on the electron transport layer to a thickness of 10 Å to form an electron injection layer, and then an aluminum (Al) cathode was deposited on the electron injection layer to a thickness of 1,200 Å to form a cathode, thereby fabricating an organic light emitting device (Example 114).

[0268] On the other hand, all organic compounds required for OLED device production are 10- 6 ~10- 8 It was purified by vacuum sublimation under torr and used for OLED fabrication.

[0269] In the manufacturing process of the organic light-emitting device of Experimental Example 3, except that the compounds shown in Table 8 below were used instead of Compound 14 and Compound 2-1 used as the first host of the light-emitting layer, organic light-emitting devices of Examples 114 to 153 were additionally manufactured in the same manner.

[0270] Specifically, the compounds used as the first host and the second host in the emitting layer in Examples 114 to 153 are as shown in Table 8 below.

[0271] 2) Driving voltage and luminous efficiency of organic light-emitting devices The electroluminescence (EL) characteristics of the organic light emitting devices of Examples 114 to 153 prepared as described above were measured using the M7000 from Mac Science Co., Ltd., and the measurement results were used to measure the reference luminance of 6,000 cd / m2 through a lifespan measuring device (M6000) manufactured by Mac Science Co., Ltd. 2 When T 95 was measured.

[0272] The measured characteristics of the organic light-emitting device of the present invention are shown in Table 8 below.
