FIG. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0023] Hereinafter, an embodiment of a fishing rod according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. Components common to multiple drawings are given the same reference numerals throughout the multiple drawings. Please note that the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale for the sake of convenience.

[0024] 1 is a diagram showing one embodiment of a fishing rod according to the present invention. As shown in the figure, a fishing rod 1 according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises a rod body 2, a reel R attached to the rod body 2 via a reel seat 9, and a fishing line guide 10 attached to the rod body 2. In the illustrated embodiment, each of the reel seat 9 and the fishing line guide 10 corresponds to an attachment part attached to the outer circumferential surface of the rod body.

[0025] The rod body 2 is formed by connecting, for example, a butt rod 3, a middle rod 5, and a tip rod 7. These rod bodies are joined, for example, in a parallel joint. The butt rod 3, middle rod 5, and tip rod 7 can be joined by a telescoping type, a reverse parallel joint type, a spigot joint type, or any other known joint type. The rod body 2 may be formed from a single rod body.

[0026] The base rod 3, the middle rod 5, and the tip rod 7 are each formed of, for example, a tubular body made of fiber-reinforced resin. This tubular body made of fiber-reinforced resin is produced by winding a fiber-reinforced resin prepreg (prepreg sheet) in which reinforcing fibers are impregnated with a matrix resin around a core bar, and heating and curing the prepreg sheet. As the reinforcing fibers contained in the prepreg sheet, for example, carbon fiber, glass fiber, and any other known reinforcing fibers can be used. As the matrix resin contained in the prepreg sheet, a thermosetting resin such as an epoxy resin can be used. After the prepreg sheet is cured, the core bar is de-cored. In addition, the outer surface of the tubular body is appropriately polished. Each rod body may be formed in a solid shape.

[0027] In the illustrated embodiment, the butt rod 3, middle rod 5 and tip rod 7 are provided with a number of line guides 10 (line guides 10A-10D) that guide the fishing line that is let out from the reel 6 attached to the reel seat 9. More specifically, the butt rod 3 is provided with line guide 10A, the middle rod 5 is provided with line guide 10B, and the tip rod 7 is provided with line guide 10C. A top guide 10D is provided at the tip of the tip rod 7, but details will be omitted.

[0028] Next, an example of the reel seat body 12 and the reel seat 9 will be described with reference to Fig. 2. The reel seat body 12 has a reel leg placement surface 12a along its axial direction on which the reel leg 6a of the fishing reel 6 is placed. In the illustrated example, the reel seat body 12 is provided at a predetermined part of the fishing rod 2 without any gap between a fixed hood 14 and a movable hood 22 described later in order to support the reel leg, but may be formed with a predetermined length between the fixed hood 14 and the movable hood 22 so as to support a part of the reel leg.

[0029] Although not shown, the reel seat body 12 may be formed to surround the fishing rod body 2. The reel seat body 12 may be configured to have a length of, for example, 60-160 mm, but is not limited to this. The reel seat body 12 may have various other forms, dimensions, and shapes, and is not limited to a specific embodiment.

[0030] The reel leg mounting surface 12a of the reel seat body 12 can be formed flat or approximately flat, and the reel seat body 12 shown in Fig. 2 is formed to extend in the axial direction of the fishing rod body 2. In the example shown, a fixed hood 14 is disposed at one end (the fishing rod tip side) of the reel seat body 12. One end of the reel leg mounting surface 12a of the reel seat body 12 is disposed inside the fixed hood 14.

[0031] A movable hood (also called a floating hood) 22 is attached to the other end (rod base side) of the reel seat body 12 so as to be movable in the axial direction. A nut portion 23 is provided to move the movable hood 22. The reel seat body 12, the fixed hood 14, the movable hood 22, and the nut portion 23 are sometimes collectively referred to as the reel seat 9, but details will be omitted. As will be described later, a configuration without the reel seat body 12 is also possible.

[0032] Here, with reference to Figs. 7 and 8, a fishing rod 1 equipped with a reel seat body 12 of another embodiment will be described. First, in the embodiment shown in Fig. 7, the reel seat body 12 is supported at both ends by the fixed hood 14 and the movable hood 22, and is formed so as to support the reel leg 6a on the mounting surface of the reel seat body. The difference from the embodiment shown in Fig. 2 is that the reel seat body 12 supports the rod body 2 in Fig. 2, but the reel seat body 12 is formed so as not to come into contact with the rod body 2 in Fig. 7. Also, in the embodiment shown in Fig. 8, there is no reel seat body 12, and both ends of the reel leg 6a are held by the fixed hood 14 and the movable hood 22.

[0033] Next, referring to Fig. 3, a reel seat grip member 30 according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described, and referring to Fig. 4, a fishing rod handle member 20 according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described. (Definition) Here, the fishing rod handle member 20 is a member that is composed of the fairing part 40, joint part 50, and fishing rod grip part 60 of the fishing rod 1, and is configured as the ranges A, B, and C shown in Fig. 4, respectively, and is intended to give the fishing rod a gripping property. Also, the reel seat grip member 30 corresponds only to the fairing part 40 of the fishing rod handle member 20, corresponds to the range A shown in Fig. 4, has a mechanism for attaching a reel, and is intended to make the fishing rod easy to grip. The fairing part 40 (part A) means the front part (foregrip) of the fishing rod handle, and the fishing rod grip part 60 (part C) means the rear grip (rear grip) of the fishing rod handle, and the joint part 50 (part B) is the part that connects them.

[0034] As shown in Figures 2 and 9, the reel seat grip member 30 according to one embodiment of the present invention is provided on the fishing rod body 2 and is configured to surround at least the upper and side portions of the nut portion 23 of the movable hood 22 of the hood 13 for fixing the reel leg 6a, and to extend circumferentially around the fairing portion to surround a portion of the fishing rod body.

[0035] According to the reel seat grip member 30 of one embodiment of the present invention, it is possible to provide a reel seat grip member that reduces contact between the angler's hand and the nut portion of the movable hood when operating the fishing rod, making the nut portion less likely to loosen, and is lightweight and contributes to making the hood more compact.

[0036] Here, in the fishing rod 1 having the reel seat grip member 30 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the reel seat body 12 on which the reel leg 6a is placed may be formed on the rod body 2. Also, in the fishing rod 1 having the reel seat grip member 30 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the reel seat body 12 on which the reel leg 6a is placed may be provided between the fixed hood 14 and the movable hood 22 of the hood 13, or the reel seat body 12 and the hood 13 may be formed as a single unit.

[0037] As shown in FIG. 9, the reel seat grip member 30 according to one embodiment of the present invention is configured to surround the nut portion 23 of the movable hood in a range of 50% to 80% of the circumferential direction (A) of the nut portion 23. In this way, the reel seat grip member reduces the angler's hand from coming into contact with the nut portion of the movable hood when operating the fishing rod, making it difficult for the nut portion to loosen. It has been found that such a numerical range is necessary not only in terms of the ease of holding the grip portion, but also in order to cover the nut portion of the movable hood for tightening (fixing) the reel leg portion when the grip portion is held so that the hand and fingers do not touch it. In particular, it has been found that if the grip portion covers 50% or more of the circumferential direction (A) when gripping with the hand, the grip portion is highly effective in preventing the fingers gripping the nut portion of the movable hood from touching it. This also applies to the fishing rod handle member 20 according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0038] The reel seat grip member 30 according to one embodiment of the present invention is configured to extend so as to surround the rod body in a range of 20% to 80% of the circumferential direction (B) across the fairing portion. This reel seat grip member ensures the required minimum rigidity while enabling a significant weight reduction compared to the conventional case. This also applies to the fishing rod handle member 20 according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0039] The reel seat grip member 30 according to one embodiment of the present invention is made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). The material of the reel seat grip member 30 may be CFRTP (continuous fiber), CFRTP (discontinuous fiber), or a hybrid. By using such a material, it is possible to suppress an increase in weight while ensuring sufficient rigidity and strength as the reel seat grip member 30 used in a fishing rod.

[0040] In the reel seat grip member 30 according to one embodiment of the present invention, one end of the reel seat grip member 30 is fixed to the hood or the fishing rod body. This is also the same for the fishing rod handle member 20 according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0041] In the reel seat grip member 30 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the length of the reel seat grip member 30 is 100-400 mm.

[0042] In the reel seat grip member 30 according to one embodiment of the present invention, one or more notches are formed in a portion of the reel seat grip member 30. This also applies to the fishing rod handle member 20 according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0043] In the reel seat grip member 30 according to one embodiment of the present invention, one or more honeycomb structures are formed in a part of the reel seat grip member 30. This also applies to the fishing rod handle member 20 according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0044] In the reel seat grip member 30 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the inner fixed hood of the hood for fixing the reel legs surrounds the lower part in the circumferential direction. This is also the same for the fishing rod handle member 20 according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0045] A fishing rod 1 according to one embodiment of the present invention is configured to include a rod body 2, a hood provided on the rod body 2 for fixing a reel leg, and any of the above-mentioned reel seat grip members 30. A fishing rod 1 according to one embodiment of the present invention is configured to include a rod body 2, a hood provided on the rod body 2 for fixing a reel leg, and any of the above-mentioned or below-mentioned fishing rod handle members 20.

[0046] According to the fishing rod 1 of one embodiment of the present invention, it is possible to provide a fishing rod that reduces contact between the angler's hands and the nut portion of the movable hood when operating the fishing rod, making the nut portion less likely to loosen, and that is lightweight and contributes to making the hood more compact.

[0047] Next, referring to FIG. 4, a fishing rod handle member 20 according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described. As shown in the figure, the fishing rod handle member 20 according to one embodiment of the present invention is provided on the fishing rod body 2, and is configured to surround at least the upper and side portions of the nut portion 23 of the movable hood 14 of the hood 13 for fixing the reel leg 6a, and to extend circumferentially around the fairing portion 40, the joint portion 50, and the fishing rod grip portion 60 so as to surround a portion of the fishing rod body.

[0048] According to the fishing rod handle member 20 of one embodiment of the present invention, it is possible to provide a fishing rod handle member which reduces contact between the angler's hands and the nut portion of the movable hood when operating the fishing rod, making the nut portion less likely to loosen, and which is lightweight and contributes to making the hood more compact.

[0049] The fishing rod handle member 20 according to one embodiment of the present invention is made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). The fishing rod handle member 20 may be made of a material such as CFRTP (continuous fiber), CFRTP (discontinuous fiber), or a hybrid. By using such a material, the handle member 20 for use in a fishing rod can be prevented from increasing in weight while ensuring sufficient rigidity and strength.

[0050] Next, referring to Figs. 5 and 6, a fishing rod handle member 20 according to another embodiment of the present invention will be described.
