Abstract

To provide a compact projector.SOLUTION: An inventive projector comprises: a light source device; an image generation portion that modulates light from the light source device to generate an image; an optical path changing device that changes an optical path of image light generated by the image generation portion; and a projection optical device that projects the image light which has an optical path changed by the optical path changing device. The image generation portion includes: a light modulation device that modulates the light from the light source device in accordance with image information to generate the image light; and a first holding portion that holds the light modulation device. The optical path changing device includes: an optical member on which the image light emitted from the image generation portion is incident; an optical support portion that swingably supports the optical member; and a second holding portion that holds the optical support portion. The projection optical device includes: a projection optical system on which the light from the optical path changing device is incident; and a third holding portion that holds the projection optical system.
