AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Condensation occurs in the exhaust path of a washing and drying machine due to temperature drop of high-temperature, high-humidity air, leading to potential backflow into the circulation air path and reduced drying efficiency.

Method used

The washing and drying machine is equipped with an exhaust duct that branches off from the return duct, positioned on the same side as the supply duct, with the exhaust duct running parallel and in close proximity to the supply duct to minimize temperature drop and prevent condensation backflow.

Benefits of technology

This configuration suppresses condensation and backflow, maintaining high drying efficiency by preventing rapid temperature drop of exhausted air and ensuring energy efficiency.

Abstract

To provide a washing and drying machine which can suppress such a defect that dew condensation water generated by temperature drop of high-temperature humid air back-flowing in a circulation air passage deteriorates drying efficiency, when exhausting a part of the high-temperature humid air.SOLUTION: A washing and drying machine comprises: an outer tub 2; an inner tub rotationally driven inside the outer tub 2; a heat pump unit 10; an air circulation duct 6 including a delivery duct 61 for delivering air to the outer tub 2 from the heat pump unit 10, and a return duct 62 for returning the air from the outer tub 2 to the heat pump unit 10; and an exhaust duct 210 which branches from the return duct 62, and exhausts a part of the circulation air flowing in the air circulation duct 6. The exhaust duct 210 is arranged on the same side as the side in which the delivery duct 61 is arranged in the width direction of the washing and drying machine 100 with respect to a straight line L1 passing through a rotational drive shaft 51 of the inner tub and extending in the vertical direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
