The invention is directed to latex compositions comprising sequentially designed polymer having a first stage, a second stage and a third stage corresponding to a seed, a core and a shell. The latex polymer is suitable for aqueous low volatile organic compounds (“VOC”) paint (less than 50 g / L) with good block resistance, improved open time and increased water softening resistance. To attain good block resistance, the seed and the core contain monomers that form polymers with relatively harder characteristics and higher glass transition temperature (“Tg”) while the shell contains monomers that form polymers with softer characteristics and lower Tg. To gain improved open time, the latex polymer contains suitable level of hydrophilic monomers necessary to hold water. To achieve water softening resistance, hydrophobic monomers are grafted on hydrophilic portions of the shell or the core layers. The invention is also directed to the process of making the latex by a sequential emulsion polymerization.

A speculum sheath which covers a speculum and methods for using the sheath are described herein. A variety of different types of specula may be covered with the sheath, including anal, vaginal, ear, and nasal specula. The sheath is made of a compliant or partially compliant material, including latex, vinyl, natural and synthetic rubbers, silicone, nylon, polyethylene, polypropylene, and non-degradable or degradable elastomers. The material may be transparent or opaque. In the preferred embodiment, the material is transparent. The sheath may contain one or two openings. Optionally, the sheath contains an affixing means on the inside of or at least one of the openings on the sheath to prevent slippage when in contact with the speculum. Optionally, the sheath contains an active agent, such as hemostatic agents, anti-infectives, antibiotics, antimitotics anti-inflammatory, or other chemotherapeutic agents. In the preferred embodiment, the sheath is placed on a vaginal speculum and supports loose vaginal tissue when inserted into a patient. In the most preferred embodiment, the material is transparent so that medical provider may view the lumen.

The invention provides a fluorine-silicon modified self-crosslinking acrylic ester emulsion and a preparation method thereof, belonging to the technical field of polymer synthesis. The emulsion is a product formed by organosilicon monomers, fluoride-containing acrylic monomers, (methyl) acrylic monomers and self-crosslinking monomers through core-shell emulsion polymerization. The invention relates to a test method for simulating the shear resistant strength change of foundation pit precipitation soil. The test method comprises the following steps of: firstly, preparing an original-shape soil sample by using a fret saw, a soil cutter, a soil cutting disk, and the like; secondly, carrying out exhausting and water injection on the sample in a vacuum tank to be saturated;thirdly, mounting a test sample in which a latex film is sleeved in a three-axle pressure chamber; fourthly, solidifying the test sample at two phases through a three-axle ambient pressure system, wherein the test sample is restored to be in a natural self-weight stress state of a soil body by using the first-time solidification and the stress state of the soil body subjected to precipitation is simulated by using secondary solidification; fifthly, carrying out an un-drained shear test on the test sample through an axial loading system; and sixthly, after the test is ended, closing a motor and a valve and detaching the test sample. According to the test method disclosed by the invention, the influence of the reduction for water content of the foundation pit precipitation soil, the increase of effective stress and soil solidification and compaction on the soil shear resistant stretch is considered so as to provide reference for accurately selecting shear resistant strength indexes of the foundation pit precipitation soil and further provide guarantee for designing and constructing deep foundation pits of soft soil water-rich stratum safely, economically and reasonably.

Adopting calcined desulfurized gypsum as the main raw material, the desulfurized gypsum based antistatic self-leveling mortar comprises the following components by weight: 25-45 of desulfurized gypsum, 5-10 of slag powder, 3-10 of fly ash, 5-12 of portland cement, 15-25 of quartz sand, 15-25 of steel slag sand, 0.03-0.2 of modified carbon fiber, 0.5-2.0 of redispersible emulsion powder, 0.02-0.07 of cellulose ether, 0.10-0.25 of a water reducer, 0.1-0.4 of an antifoaming agent, 1.2-2.5 of an early strength agent, 0.02-0.06 of a retarder, and 0.002-0.005 of a carbon nanotube. The desulfurized gypsum based antistatic self-leveling mortar has good antistatic performance, bonding property, wear resistance, as well as high compressive strength, and overcomes the defect of poor water proofness of gypsum based materials. By utilizing a lot of industrial solid waste, the self-leveling mortar of the invention has the advantages of environmental protection, energy saving, and low cost, etc., and can be applied in various building ground projects with requirements for electrostatic protection and levelability.
