The invention discloses an absorption spectrum-based special printing color matching method. The method specifically comprises the following steps: calibrating primary color ink on a printing base, and obtaining n types of base color ink for color matching; then printing the n types of base color ink on a black-white printing material, and respectively measuring the spectral reflectivity of the black-white printing material and the spectral reflectivities of on-site color pieces of the n types of base color ink under the black-white printing base, thus obtaining 2n+2 groups of spectral reflectivities; calculating the spectral reflectivities and the spectral transmissivities of the n types of base color ink by using the obtained spectral reflectivities; and building a color matching model of the spectral reflectivity of the base color ink and the spectral reflectivity of a target special color, thus obtaining optimal ratios of all types of primary color ink for color matching. Accordingto the absorption spectrum-based special printing color matching method, by the use of reflection spectrums to calculate absorption spectrums, color matching of special-color ink for intaglio printing is carried out through a computer. By the method, the influence of difference of the primary color ink on a color matching hue is reduced; and the color matching color range is expanded, the color matching time is shortened, and the color matching precision is effectively guaranteed.
