5124 results about "Lawn" patented technology

A lawn is an area of soil-covered land planted with grasses and other durable plants such as clover which are maintained at a short height with a lawnmower (or sometimes grazing animals) and used for aesthetic and recreational purposes. Lawns are usually composed only of grass species, subject to weed and pest control, maintained in a green color (e.g., by watering), and are regularly mowed to ensure an acceptable length. Lawns are used around houses, apartments, commercial buildings and offices. Many city parks also have large lawn areas. In recreational contexts, the specialised names turf, pitch, field or green may be used, depending on the sport and the continent.

Methods of using fuel cell system configured to provide power to one or more loads

A fuel cell system is described for providing primary and/or auxiliary/backup power to one or more loads selected from the group comprising: lawn & garden equipment; radios; telephone; targeting equipment; battery rechargers; laptops; communications devices; sensors; night vision equipment; camping equipment; stoves; lanterns; lights; vehicles; cars; recreational vehicles; trucks; boats; ferries; motorcycles; motorized scooters; forklifts; golf carts; lawnmowers; industrial carts; passenger carts (airport); luggage handling equipment (airports); airplanes; lighter than air crafts; blimps; dirigibles; hovercrafts; trains; locomotives; submarines (manned and unmanned); torpedoes; security systems; electrical energy storage devices for solar-based, tidal-based, hydro-based, wind-based, and other renewable energy source; equipment for which a primary and/or backup power source is necessary or desirable to enable the equipment to function for its intended purpose, military-usable variants of above, and suitable combinations of any two or more thereof. The system provides power to the one or more loads upon the occurrence of a power outage condition, which includes a disruption or discontinuation in the delivery of primary power (i.e., power from a system-external primary source, namely, a source other than the fuel cell system) to, or power demand condition by, the one or more loads. A controller senses outage of primary power to, or demand for primary power by, the one or more loads, and, responsive thereto, operatively engages one or more fuel cells to provide power to the one or more loads.

Light sensor with modulated radiant polychromatic source

An apparatus is described for assessing plant status using biophysical and biochemical properties of the plant remotely sensed by the invention thereby allowing selective monitoring, elimination or treatment of individual plants. In a preferred embodiment, a single polychromatic emitter provides coincident light beams; one beam substantially in the visible portion of the spectrum (400 nm to 700 nm) and the other in the near infrared (NIR) portion of the spectrum (700 nm to 1100 nm). This light beam illuminates a small surface area on the ground, which may be bare ground, desired plants or undesired weeds. The beam of light may be focused, collimated or non-focused. A detector array, usually composed of a visible detector and a NIR detector, detects portions of this polychromatic light beam reflected by the surface area and provides a signal indicative of whether the detected light was reflected by a plant or by some non-plant object such as soil. A controller analyzes this signal and, assuming a plant is detected, responds by activating a device to take some action with respect to the plant or stores the analyzed signal with corresponding DGPS position in the controller's memory for later analysis. A number of actions may be taken by the controller. For instance, if the plant is a weed, the desired action might be to spray herbicide on the weed. Or, if the plant is a crop that is determined to be lacking in nutrient, the desired action may be to apply fertilizer. Additionally, if the plant under test is a turf landscape, such as found on golf courses and sporting fields, plant biomass may be mapped and geo-located using GPS for later, comparative analysis.

Fertilizer water-dispersion granule and preparation thereof

The invention relates to a fertilizer water dispersible granule and a method for preparing the same. The fertilizer water dispersible granule comprises one or more of plant nutrient substances and at least one surfactant which are processed to prepare the regular or irregular granular water dispersible granule. The fertilizer water dispersible granule consists of the following raw materials in portion by weight: 5 to 95 portions of the plant nutrient substance, 1 to 40 portions of the surfactant and 0 to 94 portions of an assistant. The invention has a preferential proposal: the plant nutrient substance comprises monopotassium phosphate, boric acid or borax, humic acid and salt thereof. The fertilizer water dispersible granule also comprises one or more of growth regulators. In addition, the fertilizer water dispersible granule can also comprise a disintegrating agent, an adhesive, a filler, a colorant and other assistants. The preparation method comprises: the metering, pulverization, even mixing, pelletization and drying of formula materials to obtain the fertilizer water dispersible granule. The fertilizer water dispersible granule has rapid disintegrating and dissolving (dispersing) speed in water, is fully dissolved, does not block a nozzle and a drop irrigation pipeline, is uneasy to absorb moisture, has high content of effective compositions, low packaging, storage, transportation, metering and use cost and high utilization rate of the effective compositions, reduces waste and environmental pollution, is widely applied to economic crop, gardening, lawn and urban greening and has extremely wide market application prospect.

Sodium alginate oligosaccharide coated slow-release fertilizer and preparation and application thereof

The invention discloses a sodium alginate oligosaccharide coated slow-release fertilizer. Coated materials of the slow-release fertilizer contain sodium alginate oligosaccharide and an auxiliary coated material, wherein sodium alginate oligosaccharide is composed of two structural units, namely a-L-mannuronic acid and b-D-guluronic acid. The two structural units are linked in three ways by 1,4-glucosidic bond, so as to form a unbranched linear segmented copolymer. The coated slow-release fertilizer is mainly applied in commercial crops, fruit and vegetable crops, grain crops, economic forest, flowers and plants, traditional Chinese medicinal materials, lawn and the like. By introducing organism-derived sodium alginate oligosaccharide into the coated materials of the slow-release fertilizer, nutritive elements required by plant growth and development can be supplemented by a slow-release approach, and the plant growth promoting effect of sodium alginate oligosaccharide also can be performed so as to finally achieve the yield-increasing effect. In addition, a medicament prepared by using sodium alginate oligosaccharide as the main coated material composition is safe and nontoxic and has advantages of low cost, small application amount and the like.

Homeowner's method of snow removal with a motor vehicle

This method provides various high-power-ratio snow removal devices which clear paths narrower than the motor vehicles. We use small, light, low-priced, yet also safe, durable devices to clear the narrow swaths. High power ratios result from applying motor vehicle horsepower to small snow removal devices similar to those found on lawn tractors. Such devices may comprise moldboard plows (FIGS. 3, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16), snow throwers (FIGS. 7 and 13), or combinations of both types (FIG. 12 and 17). Quick-connect and quick-release fittings (FIGS. 3A, 3B, 6, 8, 9A, 9B, 14) position each device for temporary propulsion by a vehicle. The connectors allow quick conversion of the family car to a plowing machine, and when plowing is done, quick re-conversion. A moldboard plow of about half the car's width (FIG. 3) is our preferred embodiment. The mini-moldboard (FIG. 10) is least expensive. Deepest snow can be handled by our tall, narrow moldboard (FIG. 15). We protect homeowners, their cars and their plows from injury when plows strike hidden objects. Protection devices comprise safety springs (60) and pivots (63, 67 and 69) of FIG. 3B, the tension-release mechanism mentioned but not detailed in FIG. 15, annor shields (396, 398) of FIG. 16 and various others mentioned or provided for in our drawings but not detailed. We prefer cars' chassis tie-down ears (72) in FIG. 3A, as connector points for our plow or thrower arms. For cars lacking such ears, we propose add-on ears. For example, tie-down ear (126) in FIG. 6.
