Cryptographic encoded ticket issuing and collection system for remote purchasers

A cryptographic encoded, ticket issuing and collection system for real-time purchase of tickets by purchasers at remote user stations in an information network that includes a plurality of remote user stations coupled to a server in an information network, e.g., the Internet, for purchase of services, products, or tickets to an event. An operator of the remote user station selects a ticket for purchase to an event using standard protocols of information network. An electronic ticket is transmitted to the operator and includes a cypher code created using a public key cryptography system. The operator displays the electronic ticket for verification purposes and proceeds to print out the ticket at the station. The ticket is presented to a ticket collector whereupon the ticket is scanned by a portable terminal for decoding the cypher code using a public key reloaded into the terminal by the producers of the event. The decoded cypher code is compared against the event description stored in the portable terminal and if equal, the ticket is accepted for admission to the event. The ticket information is stored in the portable terminal and subsequently uploaded to the information system to check for duplicate tickets.

Atomic layer deposition using metal amidinates

Metal films are deposited with uniform thickness and excellent step coverage. Copper metal films were deposited on heated substrates by the reaction of alternating doses of copper(I) NN′-diisopropylacetamidinate vapor and hydrogen gas. Cobalt metal films were deposited on heated substrates by the reaction of alternating doses of cobalt(II) bis(N,N′-diisopropylacetamidinate) vapor and hydrogen gas. Nitrides and oxides of these metals can be formed by replacing the hydrogen with ammonia or water vapor, respectively. The films have very uniform thickness and excellent step coverage in narrow holes. Suitable applications include electrical interconnects in microelectronics and magnetoresistant layers in magnetic information storage devices.

Communicating information associated with provisioning of a service, over a user plane connection

A method of communicating information associated with provisioning of a service in a communication system and arrangement for the same is disclosed. In the method information about possible associations between an identifier of a mobile user equipment (10) and user plane addresses is stored in storage means (34). A service provisioning entity may receive a request for the service from a client (24) connected to the communication system. Said request includes an identifier of the mobile user equipment. It is verified if a user plane address can be found from the storage means based on the identifier. If such a user plane address is found from the storage means, data associated with provisioning of the requested service is communicated to the mobile user equipment over a user plane connection associated with said address found from the storage means. If no user plane address can be found from the storage means based on the identifier, a new user plane connection is established, and data associated with provisioning of the requested service is communicated to the mobile user equipment over said established user plane connection.

Advanced information gathering for targeted activities

An agent based system assists in preparing an individual for an upcoming meeting by helping him / her retrieve relevant information about the meeting from various sources based on preexisting information in the system. The system obtains input text in character form indicative of the target meeting from a calendar program that includes the time of the meeting. As the time of the meeting approaches, the calendar program is queried to obtain the text of the target event and that information is utilized as input to the agent system. Then, the agent system parses the input meeting text to extract its various components such as title, body, participants, location, time etc. The system also performs pattern matching to identify particular meeting fields in a meeting text. This information is utilized to query various sources of information on the web and obtain relevant stories about the current meeting to send back to the calendaring system. For example, if an individual has a meeting with Netscape and Microsoft to talk about their disputes, the system obtains this initial information from the calendaring system. It will then parse out the text to realize that the companies in the meeting are “Netscape” and “Microsoft” and the topic is “disputes”. It will then surf the web for relevant information concerning the topic. Thus, in accordance with an objective of the invention, the system updates the calendaring system and eventually the user with the best information it can gather to prepare for the target meeting. In accordance with a preferred embodiment, the information is stored in a file that is obtained via selection from a link imbedded in the calendar system.

Application Execution Device and Application Execution Device Application Execution Method

The conventional application protection technique complicates an application to make it difficult to analyze the application. However, with such a complication method, the complicate program can be analyzed sooner or later by taking a lot of time no matter how the degree of the complication is high. Also, it is impossible to protect the application from unauthorized copying. The meta-information managing unit that is to be executed in the secure execution unit stores the meta-information of the application in an area that can not be accessed by a debugger. When the meta-information is required by the normal execution unit to execute the application, a result of predetermined calculation using the meta-information is notified to the normal execution unit. In this way, the meta-information of the application can be kept secret.

Reagents, methods, and libraries for bead-based sequencing

The present invention provides methods for determining a nucleic acid sequence by performing successive cycles of duplex extension along a single stranded template. The cycles comprise steps of extension, ligation, and, preferably, cleavage. In certain embodiments the methods make use of extension probes containing phosphorothiolate linkages and employ agents appropriate to cleave such linkages. In certain embodiments the methods make use of extension probes containing an abasic residue or a damaged base and employ agents appropriate to cleave linkages between a nucleoside and an abasic residue and / or agents appropriate to remove a damaged base from a nucleic acid. The invention provides methods of determining information about a sequence using at least two distinguishably labeled probe families. In certain embodiments the methods acquire less than 2 bits of information from each of a plurality of nucleotides in the template in each cycle. In certain embodiments the sequencing reactions are performed on templates attached to beads, which are immobilized in or on a semi-solid support. The invention further provides sets of labeled extension probes containing phosphorothiolate linkages or trigger residues that are suitable for use in the method. In addition, the invention includes performing multiple sequencing reactions on a single template by removing initializing oligonucleotides and extended strands and performing subsequent reactions using different initializing oligonucleotides. The invention further provides efficient methods for preparing templates, particularly for performing sequencing multiple different templates in parallel. The invention also provides methods for performing ligation and cleavage. The invention also provides new libraries of nucleic acid fragments containing paired tags, and methods of preparing microparticles having multiple different templates (e.g., containing paired tags) attached thereto and of sequencing the templates individually. The invention also provides automated sequencing systems, flow cells, image processing methods, and computer-readable media that store computer-executable instructions (e.g., to perform the image-processing methods) and / or sequence information. In certain embodiments the sequence information is stored in a database.
