1348 results about "Digital asset" patented technology

A digital asset, in essence, is anything that exists in a binary format and comes with the right to use. Data that do not possess that right are not considered assets. Digital assets include but are not exclusive to: digital documents, audible content, motion picture, and other relevant digital data that are currently in circulation or are, or will be stored on digital appliances such as: personal computers, laptops, portable media players, tablets, storage devices, telecommunication devices, and any and all apparatuses which are, or will be in existence once technology progresses to accommodate for the conception of new modalities which would be able to carry digital assets; notwithstanding the proprietorship of the physical device onto which the digital asset is located.

Digital rights management in a mobile communications environment

A method, system, and computer program product for enabling a wireless device in a mobile communication environment to obtain rights to protected content of a digital asset. The digital asset is downloaded to the wireless device from any one of a plurality of content servers or other wireless devices. The digital asset comprising a content ID, content encrypted with a content key, and information on obtaining rights to the content being expressed in a voucher generated by a voucher server in the network. The method, system, and computer program product also creates the digital asset for downloading to a wireless device from one of a plurality of content servers in a network and generates a voucher at the voucher server.

System and method of secure electronic commerce transactions including tracking and recording the distribution and usage of assets

Disclosed is a system and method that tracks the usage of rented digital assets. A server includes an asset database that stores a digital asset, the title of the digital asset, and a server usage count for the digital asset. The computing device stores a rented digital asset and further stores an asset usage count list that includes the title of the rented digital asset and a usage count that indicates the amount of usage of the rented digital asset by the computing device. The server uploads the asset usage count list from the computing device and matches the title of the rented digital asset from the asset usage count list with the title of the same digital asset stored in the asset database. Further, the server adds the usage count of the rented digital asset to the server usage count for the digital asset in the asset database.

Asset transaction platform and digital certification and transaction method for assets

The present invention relates to a digital asset transaction platform, comprising an asset entry device and a distributed accounting network. An asset is validated by the asset entry device. When compliance is achieved, asset project information is generated and is input to the asset transaction platform, wherein the asset project information includes a hash value of a digital asset certificate of the asset. The distributed accounting network comprises a plurality of accounting nodes, which are connected in a point-to-point manner and each store a transaction data information general ledger which is synchronized with each other and is based on a block chain database. The asset transaction platform supports mutual transaction of at least two different types of assets. The asset transaction platform provided by the invention adopts the block chain technology and the digital identity identification technology of assets and realizes de-centralization and trusted quick transaction of various assets.

Method and system for securing digital assets using process-driven security policies

Techniques for dynamically altering security criteria used in a file security system are disclosed. The security criteria pertains to keys (or ciphers) used by the file security system to encrypt electronic files to be secured or to decrypt electronic files already secured. The security criteria can, among other things, include keys that are required to gain access to electronic files. Here, the keys can be changed automatically as electronic files transition between different states of a process-driven security policy. The dynamic alteration of security criteria enhances the flexibility and robustness of the security system. In other words, access restrictions on electronic files can be dependent on the state of the process-driven security policy.

Systems and methods for cross-system digital asset tag propagation

Systems and methods for managing digital assets in a distributed computing environment are described. Meta-data for the digital assets is stored separately from the digital assets. Meta-data for some of the digital assets is copied and stored at a central location. Meta-data for the digital assets is generated by clients of the system. A method of propagating a digital asset identification tag associated with a digital asset includes: receiving a command from a client of the distributed computing system to the central computing resource, the command comprising an indication that a change occurred to the asset identification tag of a digital asset and the changed digital asset identification tag; locating the digital asset identification tag at the central resource; updating the digital asset identification tag in response to the received command; and transmitting the updated tag to another client having a copy of the digital asset.

Consensus system for tracking peer-to-peer digital records

The disclosure describes a peer-to-peer consensus system and method for achieving consensus in tracking transferrable digital objects. The system achieves consensus on a shared ledger between a plurality of peers and prevents double spending in light of network latency, data corruption and intentional manipulation of the system. Consensus is achieved and double spending is prevented via the use of the most committed stake metric to choose a single consensus transaction record. A trustable record is also facilitated by allowing stakeholders to elect a set of trusted non-colluding parties to cooperatively add transactions to the consensus record. The voting mechanism is a real-time auditable stake weighted approval voting mechanism. This voting mechanism has far reaching applications such as vote directed capital and providing a trusted source for data input into a digital consensus system. The system further enables digital assets that track the value of conventional assets with low counterparty risk.

Virtual peer for a content sharing system

The present invention relates to a virtual peer for a peer-to-peer (P2P) content sharing system. In general, the virtual peer is a logical construct enabling a number of virtual peer members to appear as a single peer node in the P2P content sharing system. In operation, a sponsoring agent creates the virtual peer and registers the virtual peer with the P2P network. Once registered, the virtual peer appears as a new peer node in the P2P network. In order to provide efficient content sharing, the sponsoring agent operates to obtain metadata describing all or a portion of a number of digital assets shared by the virtual peer members and aggregate the metadata into a single collection of metadata, referred to herein as a metadata catalog, for the virtual peer and may cache all or a portion of the digital assets shared by the virtual peer members.

Digital asset management, targeted searching and desktop searching using digital watermarks

The present invention provides methods and systems to improve network searching for watermarked content. In some implementations we employ keyword searching to narrow the universe of possible URL candidates. A resulting URL list is searched for digital watermarking. A system is provided to allow customer input. For example, a customer enters keywords or network locations. The keywords or network locations are provided to a watermark-enabled web browser which accesses locations associated with the keywords or network locations. Some implementations of the present invention employ a plurality of distributed watermark-enabled web browsers. Other aspects of the invention provide methods and system to facilitate desktop searching and automated metadata gathering and generating. In one implementation a digital watermark is used to determine whether metadata associated with an image or audio file is current or fresh. The metadata is updated when it is out of date. Watermarks can also be used to link to or facilitate so-called on-line “blogs” (or online conversations).

Method and apparatus for securing digital assets

Digital assets are in a secured form that only those with granted access rights can access. Even with the proper access privilege, when a secured file is classified, at least a security clearance key is needed to ensure those who have the right security clearance can ultimately access the contents in the classified secured file. According to one embodiment, a secured file or secured document includes two parts: a header, and an encrypted data portion. The header includes security information that points to or includes access rules, a protection key and a file key. The access rules facilitate restrictive access to the encrypted data portion and essentially determine who the secured document can be accessed. The file key is used to encrypt / decrypt the encrypted data portion and protected by the protection key. If the contents in the secured file are classified, the file key is jointly protected by the protection key as well as a security clearance key associated with a user attempting to access the secured file.
