520 results about "Universe" patented technology

The Universe is all of space and time and their contents, including planets, stars, galaxies, and all other forms of matter and energy. While the spatial size of the entire Universe is unknown, it is possible to measure the size of the observable universe, which is currently estimated to be 93 billion light-years in diameter. In various multiverse hypotheses, a universe is one of many causally disconnected constituent parts of a larger multiverse, which itself comprises all of space and time and its contents.

Parser translator system and method

A parser-translator technology allows a user to specify complex test and/or transformation statements in a high-level user language, to ensure that such test and/or transformation statements are well-formed in accordance with a grammar defining legal statements in the user language, and to translate statements defined by the user into logically and syntactically correct directives for performing the desired data transformations or operations. Using the parser-translator technology, a user can focus on the semantics of the desired operations and need not be concerned with the proper syntax of a language for a particular system. Instead, grammars (i.e., data) define the behavior of a parser-translator implementation by encoding the universe of statements (e.g., legal test and/or transformation statements) and by encoding translations appropriate to a particular data processing application (e.g., a data conversion program, etc.). Some parser-translator implementations described herein interface dynamically with other systems and/or repositories to query for information about objects, systems and states represented therein, and/or their respective interfaces. Some grammars described herein encode sensitivity to an external context. In this way, context-sensitive prompting and validation of correct specification of statements is provided. A combination of parser technology and dynamic querying of external system state allows users to build complex statements (e.g., using natural languages within a user interface environment) and to translate those complex statements into statements or directives appropriate to a particular data processing application.

System and method for automated dietary planning

A novel system and methodology for dietary and medical treatment planning wherein meals and treatment plans are specifically individualized for a user according to a number of unique characteristics associated with that user. These characteristics are provided to the system of the present invention and one or more resulting meal plans and/or therapies are generated. According to the present invention, particular dieter specific characteristics that may be considered in developing the meal plan include daily caloric limitations and or recommendations, daily nutritional requirements including minimum and maximum vitamin, mineral, water, and electrolyte intake as well as specific genetic characteristics concerning the individual. Dieter food preferences and other factors may also be considered. The system of the present invention uses this dieter specific information to generate one or more meal plans for that dieter in connection with an ingredient, food, supplement, drug and recipe database containing a universe of foods, supplements, and drugs available for generating meals and treatment plans in accordance with the diet. The system of the present invention may function as a standalone application or it may be web-based wherein users may access the application on a server accessible through the internet or some other public or private network.

Method and system for matching users for relationships using a discussion based approach

A system of matching users for relationships based upon both user provided profile information, and preferences they develop as they participate in discussion forums. User profile information can be used to determine the universe of users who have mutually compatible relationship criteria, but not necessarily the actual pairs of users who have the best chance of a successful relationship. The invention introduces the concept of discussion-based matching, wherein users interact in online forums to discuss topics of interest to them. The system informs users about which other users in the discussion are potential matches. As they interact, they begin to narrow down the universe of compatible matches to a smaller set of users who they have observed or interacted with in the discussion forum. This eases the transition to private communication, which is necessary for a personal relationship to begin, and results in more successful relationships. The system also regulates abusive or rude users in the online forums by allowing other users to report such behavior. The system records these reports and can automatically take punitive action against offending users, such as displaying a list of offending users, displaying special icons next to those user's usernames, and ultimately blocking a user from accessing the system.
