Transaction breakdown feature to facilitate analysis of end user performance of a server system

A system for monitoring the post-deployment performance of a web-based or other transactional server is disclosed. The monitoring system includes an agent component that monitors the performance of the transactional server as seen from one or more geographic locations and reports the performance data to a reports server and / or centralized database. The performance data may include, for example, transaction response times, server response times, network response times and measured segment delays along network paths. Using the reported performance data, the system provides a breakdown of time involved in completion of a transaction into multiple time components, including a network time and a server time. Users view the transaction breakdown data via a series of customizable reports, which assist the user in determining whether the source of the performance problem. Additional features permit the source to be identified with further granularity.

Feedback to facilitate control of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)

Various techniques are described to facilitate controlling an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and viewing feedback received from a UAV. A graphical user interface (GUI) is provided that allows a user to view a display window. The display window may indicate structures or portions of structures in which additional image data is desired by highlighting these portions within the display window. Static imagery may be leveraged to provide smooth and consistent feedback transitions. When a delay exists between the time the UAV sends live video data and the time it may be displayed in the GUI, the static images may be shown in the display window initially until the live video data may be displayed. The opacity of structures included in an initial display window may also transition to a greater opacity over time, with the live video eventually being displayed.

Method and apparatus for determining neighboring routing elements and rerouting traffic in a computer network

A method and apparatus for rerouting traffic in a computer network select a routing element, apply a subnet mask to an interface address of the routing element to generate subnet addresses, determine the address of neighboring elements from the subnet addresses, and obtain configuration information from the neighboring elements. Network topology is determined from the configuration information, a link in the network topology is selected, and a cost associated with the link is modified. The modified cost renders the link less desirable for routing. A method and apparatus for determining the address of neighboring routing elements in a computer network, combine a subnet mask and interface address associated in a bitwise AND operation to generate subnet addresses, disregard the highest and lowest subnet addresses and the address of the selected routing element from the subnet addresses, and identify the remaining subnet address as associated with the neighboring routing element.

Method and apparatus for priming an extracorporeal blood circuit

A method and apparatus for priming an extracorporeal blood circuit, in which the patient end of an arterial line (79) is connected to a first discharge port (61), and the patient end of a venous line (87) is connected to a second discharge port (62). The two discharge ports are connected to a used dialysate line which connects a dialyser (33) to a drain. The arterial and venous lines are filled with a priming fluid, while the air contained in the arterial and venous lines is evacuated partly through the first discharge port and partly through the second discharge port. Two check valves (65, 66) prevent flow from the used dialysate line towards the two discharge ports. The invention reduces the risk of errors on the part of an operator readying the priming configuration, as well as the risk of contamination of the extracorporeal circuit during the priming phase.

A system that facilitates the automatic tagging of contextual metadata information to a file as the file is being created. The system facilitates the automatic association of data with a user context, and includes a data operations component that associates with data operations being performed on a data. These data operations include standard data operations such as read, write, delete, move, copy, paste, etc., that are normally associated with data operations. The system further includes a tagging component that facilitates automatic tagging of contextual information to the data when the data is created. That is, when the data is first saved, the tagging operation of the contextual information is performed on the data. Subsequent save operations simply overwrite the existing data in the storage location. Thus, data and applications can be grouped based on the identity of the tag.

Network system and supervisory server control method

A network system which facilitates the task of replacing switches pertaining to a detected link failure. A server network is formed from a plurality of switches and links. The link state of each port on the switches is being monitored by a link-down detector, and a switch port that has entered a link-down state from a link-up state is identified as an inoperative port. Upon detection of such a link-down event, a function disabler disables link functions of specified ports of other switches in the switch group to which the switch having the inoperative port belongs, so that the servers on the network will change their setups all at once and continue the communication through new paths.

The coupling element (14) has an optical structure (23) that directs the light between the first and second light transmission surfaces (21, 22) by one or more reflections while expanding one device divergence angle (αx) into a component divergence angle at the second light transmission surface (22). Thereby, the component divergence angle defines a divergence (φp) in the plane of the panel (4) with respect to light propagating by internal reflections inside the light transmissive panel (4).

Model selection for cluster data analysis

A model selection method is provided for choosing the number of clusters, or more generally the parameters of a clustering algorithm. The algorithm is based on comparing the similarity between pairs of clustering runs on sub-samples or other perturbations of the data. High pairwise similarities show that the clustering represents a stable pattern in the data. The method is applicable to any clustering algorithm, and can also detect lack of structure. We show results on artificial and real data using a hierarchical clustering algorithm.

System and method for maintaining alternate object views

A binding framework including a binder operable to associate and synchronize particular document objects with corresponding content objects performs unmarshalling to create the content objects from the XML documents. The content objects, which may in particular configurations be JAXB content objects, provide an alternate view to the XML data contained in the underlying XML documents. Java (i.e. user) applications then modify, or update the content objects via the alternate view, and rewrite, or update, the corresponding XML document during a marshalling process (i.e. writing the data from Java back into XML). The binding framework maintains the associations such that bound content objects are modifiable and may update the corresponding XML data in a non-destructive manner which avoids overwriting or “clobbering” other preexisting data contained in the XML document object during marshalling. The synchronizer employs the associations to maintain runtime consistency between the XML, or DOM view and the Java, or JAXB view.

Method for editing programmer logic controller (PLC) program

A method edits a PLC program in a computer with a pointing device such as a mouse. When a drag-and-drop operation is detected, a dragged source is identified. When the dragged source is from libraries, the dragged source is optionally converted into an IEC61131-syntax program portion according to the type of the libraries, namely, function or function block. When the dragged source is a POU (Programming Organization Unit), the dragged source is optionally converted into an IEC61131-syntax program portion according to the source POU type, the currently-edited POU type and criterion of forbidding recursion call. When the drag and drop operation is not feasible, the shape of mouse cursor is changed to remind user. The method of the present invention can advantageously convert items in libraries and POU into IEC61131-syntax program portion to facilitate the PLC programming task.

Touch determination with signal compensation

A multi-touch system includes a panel for conducting signals, e.g. by FTIR, from incoupling points to outcoupling points, to define detection lines across the panel. A signal processor operates in a repeating sequence of iterations to obtain an output signal from a detector coupled to the outcoupling points and generate a formatted signal value for each detection line, and operate a reconstruction algorithm on the formatted signal values to determine an interaction pattern on the panel. The signal processor also, at least intermittently in the sequence of iterations, operates compensation data on the formatted signal values to compensate for contaminations on the panel, and calculates updated compensation data based on an interference pattern determined as a function of the interaction pattern, the interference pattern being a 2D representation of contamination-induced signal interferences. The influence of contaminations in the interaction pattern is thereby suppressed.
