A system for processing data provided by medical devices. The system includes a medical device having a memory device configured to store medical device information. The system also includes an information system connected to the medical device. The information system includes at least a server configured to receive at least a portion of the medical device information from the memory device of the medical device. The server is also configured to employ the medical device information to process at least one of patient data, prescription data and inventory/ordering data. The medical device information may include serial number data, device identifier data, operation data and/or usage data for the medical device. The patient data may include at least one of patient tracking data, patient recordkeeping data and patient billing data. The prescription data may include prescription issuance data, prescription filling data and prescription tracking data. The inventory/ordering data may include at least one of maintenance and replacement schedule data, administrator notification data, and automatically-generated medical device order data.

A method for constructing user models from user usage and context data is provided where a personal interest graph for a user is constructing from interests of the user derived from usage data and situational data derived from one or more sensors of the electronic device. The nodes in the interest graph also contain information about a degree of user interest in the corresponding interest and a sentiment of the user at the time when the usage data suggests that the user expressed interest in the interest graph. The personal interest graph can be modified by annotating one or more nodes of the personal interest graph with influence information. Later, a current sentiment for the user can be determined by analyzing input from one more sensors on the electronic device, and a particular node can be located in the personal interest graph based on the information in the nodes.

An automated meter reading network system to collect utility usage data from multiple utility meters having utility meter sensors, program product, and associated methods are provided. The system includes multiple meter data collectors each in communication with one or more utility meters to collect utility usage data and forming a wireless communications network. The system also includes a host computer in communication with the meter data collectors either directly or through multiple field host data collectors which can be connected to the host computer through a wide area network. The system also includes a meter data collector program product at least partially stored in the memory of the host computer to manage the communication network. The update can include either storing a new version of the object in the cache; or deleting an object from the cache. Caches on multiple servers can also be synchronized with the data in a single common database. Updated information, whether new pages or delete orders, can be broadcast to a set of server nodes, permitting many systems to simultaneously benefit from the advantages of prefetching and providing a high degree of scaleability.

The system and method of the present invention automatically provides dynamically generated completion information for facilitating user input of email addresses or contact information. This completion information is developed from a “data store” comprised of multiple data sources such as previously sent or received email, and other types of electronic files such as word processor or spreadsheet files. The present invention monitors and uses the information in the data store to automatically store, track, maintain, and organize data entries in a dynamic “resolution list”. As a user begins to input an email address or contact, the present invention can either automatically complete the entry using a most probable result from the resolution list, or can display a list of likely matches from which the user may select the desired email address or contact.

A method and apparatus for calculating the engineered capacity of a packet network is described. In one example, subscriber usage data is collected from the packet network. The engineered capacity is then updated using the usage data on a periodic basis. In another example, the engineered capacity is subsequently compared with the actual network usage. Afterwards, an alarm is triggered if the actual network usage reaches a predefined threshold of the engineered capacity.
