2419 results about "Usage data" patented technology

Usage data is the most effective way of evaluating the true relevancy and value of a website. For example, if users arrive on a web site and go back immediately (high bounce rate), chances are that it wasn’t relevant to their query in the first place. However, if a user repeatedly visits a web site and spends a long time on the site, there is a high likelihood that it is extremely relevant. When it comes to search engines, relevant valuable sites get promoted while irrelevant sites get demoted.

Usage data monitoring and communication between multiple devices

A system and method for by which real-time monitoring and communication of usage data is conducted between a set of N numbered of devices where N is and integer. According to an embodiment, a communication network provides a common core architecture in which the devices connected to the system are converged regardless of their access network requirements or functional capacity. The system has the capacity to monitor and analyze all the usage information of each device connected to the system in regards to content, identity, type, quality, quantity, time, status, activity level, and metadata associated with the functions and applications utilized on a device. The analysis is further based on information governing a subscriber's devices, preferences, and features held in a subscriber database integrated within the system. The analyzed usage data is further processed through a variety of applications in order to generate a response, such as; a report, an alarm, or tailored options for interacting with the generating device which is deliverable in any format within the capacity of the receiving device including all multimedia aspects and non-multimedia aspects. The system further communicates the response in real-time to any device within the set as designated by the subscriber. In another aspect of the invention, the analyzed usage data can be stored for on demand requests of a communication response from past analysis.

Scaleable method for maintaining and making consistent updates to caches

A determination can be made of bow changes to underlying data affect the value of objects. Examples of applications are: caching dynamic Web pages; client-server applications whereby a server sending objects (which are changing all the time) to multiple clients can track which versions are sent to which clients and how obsolete the versions are; and any situation where it is necessary to maintain and uniquely identify several versions of objects, update obsolete objects, quantitatively assess how different two versions of the same object are, and/or maintain consistency among a set of objects. A directed graph called an object dependence graph, may be used to represent the data dependencies between objects. Another aspect is constructing and maintaining objects to associate changes in remote data with cached objects. If data in a remote data source changes, database change notifications are used to "trigger" a dynamic rebuild of associated objects. Thus, obsolete objects can be dynamically replaced with fresh objects. The objects can be complex objects, such as dynamic Web pages or compound-complex objects, and the data can be underlying data in a database. The update can include either storing a new version of the object in the cache; or deleting an object from the cache. Caches on multiple servers can also be synchronized with the data in a single common database. Updated information, whether new pages or delete orders, can be broadcast to a set of server nodes, permitting many systems to simultaneously benefit from the advantages of prefetching and providing a high degree of scaleability.
