930 results about "Time response" patented technology

Response Time. Response Time measures the performance of an individual transaction or query. Response time is the amount of time from the moment that a user sends a request until the time that the application indicates that the request has completed.

Magnetoelastic sensing apparatus and method for remote pressure query of an environment

A pressure sensing apparatus for operative arrangement within an environment, having: a sensor comprising a hermetically-sealed receptacle, at least one side of which has an flexible membrane to which a magnetically hard element is attached. Enclosed within the receptacle is a magnetostrictive element that vibrates in response to a time-varying magnetic field. Also included is a receiver to measure a plurality of successive values for magneto-elastic emission intensity of the sensor taken over an operating range of successive interrogation frequencies to identify a resonant frequency value for the sensor. Additional features include: (a) the magnetically hard element may be adhered to an inner or outer side of, or embedded within, the membrane; (b) the magnetostrictive element can include one or more of a variety of different pre-formed, hardened regions; (c) the magneto-elastic emission may be a primarily acoustic or electromagnetic emission; and (d) in the event the time-varying magnetic field is emitted as a single pulse or series of pulses, the receiver unit can detect a transitory time-response of the emission intensity of each pulse (detected after a threshold amplitude value for the transitory time-response is observed). A Fourier transform of the time-response can yield results in the frequency domain. Also, an associated method of sensing pressure of an environment is included that uses a sensor having a magnetostrictive element to identify a magneto-elastic resonant frequency value therefore. Using the magneto-elastic resonant frequency value identified, a value for the pressure of the environment can be identified.

Interactive method and apparatus for real-time financial planning

A method and apparatus for financial planning and control are disclosed that are capable of real-time response to changing market conditions. The disclosed method provides financial management and control tools that allow an organization to rapidly (on weekly or monthly frequencies, for example) realign financial resources throughout the organization in response to changing market and business conditions. The method links critical external information directly to company decision-making activities to allow a business to better align resources to capitalize upon opportunities or minimize the impact of adverse business conditions. The disclosed embodiment of the invention comprises several modules, including the TopLine Planner(TM) module, BizPlan(TM) module, and SpendCap Manager(TM) module. The TopLine Planner(TM) module receives inputs from and provides information to sales, marketing and manufacturing, and is coupled to the BizPlan(TM) module. The TopLine Planner(TM) module dynamically revises topline forecast information by capturing current outlook information from front line sources. Revenue information is passed between the TopLine Planner(TM) module and the BizPlan(TM) module. The BizPlan(TM) module rapidly refreshes expense plan information by using business rules and constraints. The BizPlan(TM) module is coupled to the SpendCap Manager(TM) module, and expense information is passed between the modules. The SpendCap Manager(TM) module distributes resources to all business managers and receives requests for increases in the allocation of resources.

Modeling of Pharmaceutical Propagation

A method of modeling propagation of a pharmaceutical fluid in a patient, includes: collecting data corresponding to a time response curve resulting from injection of the fluid; and determining at least one mathematical model describing the data. The mathematical model can, for example, be a model which is not determined by a continuous or a discrete-time Fourier transform of the data. A method of controlling injection of a pharmaceutical fluid into a patient using an injector in a medical procedure, includes: collecting data corresponding to a patient response curve resulting from injection of the fluid; determining at least one mathematical model describing the data; and controlling the injector during the medical procedure to control injection of the fluid into the patient to create patient response at least in part on the basis of the mathematical model. A method of controlling injection of a contrast medium into a patient using an injector in a medical imaging procedure using an imaging scanner, includes: determining at least one mathematical model to predict a time enhancement response resulting from injection of the contrast medium; determining an injection protocol to approximate a predetermined time enhancement response in the patient by determining a constrained input solution to the mathematical model; and using the injection protocol to control the injector during the medical imaging procedure to control injection of the contrast medium into the patient to create an image of a region of interest.

Laser spectral engineering for lithographic process

An integrated circuit lithography technique called spectral engineering by Applicants, for bandwidth control of an electric discharge laser. In a preferred process, a computer model is used to model lithographic parameters to determine a desired laser spectrum needed to produce a desired lithographic result. A fast responding tuning mechanism is then used to adjust center wavelength of laser pulses in a burst of pulses to achieve an integrated spectrum for the burst of pulses approximating the desired laser spectrum. The laser beam bandwidth is controlled to produce an effective beam spectrum having at least two spectral peaks in order to produce improved pattern resolution in photo resist film. Line narrowing equipment is provided having at least one piezoelectric drive and a fast bandwidth detection control system having a time response of less than about 2.0 millisecond. In a preferred embodiment, a wavelength tuning mirror is dithered at dither rates of more than 500 dithers per second in phase with the repetition rate of the laser. In one case, the piezoelectric drive was driven with a square wave signal and in a second case it was driven with a sine wave signal. In another embodiment, the maximum displacement was matched on a one-to-one basis with the laser pulses in order to produce a desired average spectrum with two peaks for a series of laser pulses. Other preferred embodiments utilize three separate wavelength tuning positions producing a spectrum with three separate peaks.

Arithmetic processing method and system in a wide velocity range flight velocity vector measurement system using a square truncated pyramid-shape five-hole pitot probe

An arithmetic processing method and system in a wide velocity range flight velocity vector measurement system using a square truncated pyramid-shape five-hole Pitot probe. Approximation equations that determine attack angle alpha and sideslip angle beta in the form of third-order equations concerning attack angle pressure coefficient Calpha and sideslip angle pressure coefficient Cbeta, which are known numbers, are expressed in the form of a polynomial equation concerning Mach number M, where the coefficients are obtained from a lookup table. Coefficient calculations in the polynomial equation, and attack angle a and sideslip angle beta, calculations may be performed as simple calculations by specifying and applying known numbers into the approximation equation without solving third-order equations, with calibration coefficients that form the basis of coefficient calculation with the polynomial equation first being stored in memory in advance as a table for each wide velocity range on the basis of wind tunnel testing. A Mach number may be calculated instantly from a lookup table by specifying Mach pressure coefficient CM and angle to airflow pressure coefficient Cgamma. Wide velocity range flight velocity vector measurement with a high update rate which is capable of real time response in flight control as demanded by aircraft is obtained.
