System and embedded license control mechanism for the creation and distribution of digital content files and enforcement of licensed use of the digital content files

A digital content file including a license control mechanism controlling the licensed use of digital content and a system and method for distributing licensable digital content files and licenses. A digital content file includes a digital content, which may be executable code or data, an embedded file access control mechanism and a dynamic license database associated with the file access mechanism for storing license information used by the file access control mechanism in controlling use of the digital content. The file access control mechanism includes a license monitor and control mechanism communicating with the dynamic license database and controlling use of the digital content and a license control utility providing communications between a user system and an external system to communicate license definition information and includes a graphical user interface. License information may be stored initially in the dynamic license database or provided from an external system. The system allows the distribution of digital content files and the acquisition of licenses with seamless transaction processing through an order processing system generating an order identification and authorization for a license and a product configuration and order database containing license management databases associated with the digital content files and containing license information to be transmitted to a user system upon receipt of an order identifier. The product configuration and order database also generates a license record for each transaction.

System and method for managing the workflow for processing service orders among a variety of organizations within a telecommunications company

A system and method for managing the workflow for processing Service Orders among a variety of organizations within a telecommunications company. The system and method coordinates all of the tasks and activities related to order processing among the various entities within the telecommunications company. Workflows are used to model business procedures used for processing Service Orders. Each workflow comprises a plurality of workflow steps. Business process models are depicted as workflow diagrams. Upon receipt of a Service Order, an appropriate Work Plan is selected based on information within the Service Order. Each workflow step is assigned a Resource and is scheduled for completion. The Workflow steps are then placed in In-boxes associated with the selected Resource. Once the processing steps have been scheduled, a current work step is calculated. Notification messages are sent to the appropriate systems to notify them to begin activity associated with the current work step. The system is automatically notified when the current work step is complete, so that the next work step can be processed in a similar fashion. Detailed statistical information is maintained for audit and reporting purposes. Users log-on to remote workstations coupled with a company-wide Intranet or the like. From the remote workstations, users from various organizations view their In-boxes and other detailed information about Service Orders according to selectable requests. Workflow steps can be transferred and re-assigned using the remote workstations. Detailed statistical information is maintained for audit and reporting purposes. Reports reflecting the effectiveness of workforce management and work administration is obtained.

Message processor for a passenger entertainment system, method and article of manufacture

A computer is used to manage communication over a network between one or more network addressable units and a plurality of physical devices of a passenger entertainment system. The system is configured and operated using software to provide passenger entertainment services including audio and video on-demand, information dissemination, product and service order processing, video teleconferencing and data communication services. The system includes a system server and a network supporting multiple computer processors. The processors and the server comprise application software that control telephony applications and network services. The server is coupled by way of the network to physical devices of the system. The server comprises software for instantiating a dispatch object to open a framework for one or more network addressable unit objects, for instantiating one or more virtual line replaceable unit objects to manage communication between a network address unit and one or more physical devices, and for instantiating a message processor for moving messages to the one or more network addressable unit objects for delivery to the one or more physical devices. The message processor receives messages containing network routing address from one or more device drivers. The message processor utilizes the network routing address to and a physical device type to access a table and determine the ultimate destination for the message. The message processor has at least one input named pipe and one output named pipe, and utilizes the named pipes to translate messages from a first format to a second format. The message processor logs invalid destination addresses in a storage medium. The message processor instantiates each device driver from a device handler class member.

Food and beverages ordering, preparation, management and pricing system and method

A computerized food and beverages ordering apparatus implements an ordering service for meeting requirements of purchasers. A database comprises records representative of a plurality of ingredients, and at least two attributes are associated with each ingredient. One of the attributes associated to each ingredient is a nutritional parameter for a specific amount of the ingredient, and another attribute is a personal parameter. The personal parameter can be a parameter capable of describing the suitability of the associated ingredient in respect of a medical condition of a purchaser, or it can be a parameter capable of describing the suitability of the associated ingredient in respect of a taste requirement of a purchaser. A user interface is operated by, or under the instruction of, a purchaser to input an order for a meal. The meal comprises one or more of said plurality of ingredients, and each ingredient has an associated quantity. An order placement processor is connected to the user interface and to the database, and it is configured to output to the user interface at least two output parameters. One of the output parameters is a total nutritional parameter computed from the total quantities of ingredients comprised in the meal. Another output parameter is a personal parameter.

Cargo sorting method, cargo sorting system, computing device and computer-readable storage medium

The invention provides a cargo sorting method, a cargo sorting system, a computing device and a computer-readable storage medium. The cargo sorting method can includes the steps of order classification step: classifying to-be-processed orders into at least two types; collective document forming step: forming one or more collective documents of corresponding types through selecting orders of at least one type out of the above at least two types of to-be-processed orders, wherein each collective document of a corresponding type corresponds to a sowing place of a sowing wall; based on the orders and the information of cargos on shelves, assigning transporting tasks to robots; transporting shelves by robots; at a sorting station, according to the corresponding relation information between cargos on shelves and the collective documents, sorting cargos on shelves to containers at the sowing place of the sowing wall corresponding to the collective documents. According to the technical scheme of the invention, the number of orders processed in unit time is effectively increased. Therefore, the average order processing capacity of each unit container per unit time is improved. The shelf transporting number of each robot is reduced.

Order processing system and method

A novel order processing in a shop side computer that carries out online sales of goods and the like is realized by this invention. In the shop side computer, upon receiving an order request from a customer terminal, content information of the customer order is registered, and an identification number of the customer order and a shop code are transmitted to a settlement system. Next, upon receiving the identification number of the customer order and an operation key from the settlement system, the content information of the customer order is read out according to the identification number of the customer order, and the content information of the customer order, the operation key, and the shop authentication information are transmitted to the settlement system. After that, upon receiving information indicating that the acceptance of the customer order is possible from the settlement system, information indicating the acceptance of the order is stored for the customer order. Then, at an arbitrary timing after the shipment of the commodity and the like relating to the customer order, the identification number of the customer order relating to an order price claim request is transmitted to the settlement system, and information indicating whether or not the order price claim processing succeeded is received from the settlement system.
