Abstract

Provided is a method for producing an agricultural crop, with which the yield of the agricultural crop can be increased and the quality of the agricultural crop can be improved. This method for producing an agricultural crop involves cultivating and harvesting an agricultural crop (14) in a field (10) containing a carbon source (11) and a fertilizer (13) that contains nitrogen. The fertilizer and carbon source are added to the field such that the amount of carbon contained in the available components of the field is at least 0.15 times the amount of nitrogen contained in the available components of the field.

Claims

1. A method of producing crops, which involves cultivating and harvesting crops in a field containing nitrogen-containing fertilizer and a carbon source, The fertilizer and carbon source are applied to the field as base fertilizer so that the amount of carbon contained in the active ingredients of the field is 0.15 times or more the amount of nitrogen contained in the active ingredients. The carbon source is applied to the field as a top dressing such that the amount of carbon contained in the active ingredient is 0.15 times or more the amount of nitrogen contained in the active ingredient. A method for producing crops, wherein the carbon source applied to the field as base fertilizer and top dressing comprises granular or flake-shaped solid starch gel (excluding starch gel bound to fertilizer).

2. The method for producing a crop according to claim 1, wherein the amount of carbon is 0.15 times or more the amount of nitrogen during the entire period from cultivation to harvesting of the crop.

3. The method for producing crops according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the starch gel is made from rice.

4. The method for producing crops according to any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the starch gel is expanded.
