AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Existing technology cannot effectively correct image distortion caused by vehicle speed fluctuations when using line cameras to capture images of the underside of a vehicle.
Method used
A dual-line scanning unit is used, with line cameras installed directly in front of and behind the vehicle in the direction of travel. Image distortion is corrected by feature point matching and parameter calculation, and image correction is performed using information processing equipment.
Benefits of technology
It effectively corrects image distortion under fluctuating vehicle speed, ensuring image quality.

Abstract
To provide a vehicle bottom image acquisition device, a camera unit, and a vehicle bottom image acquisition method for acquiring an image in which distortions are properly suppressed, even when a movement speed of the vehicle changes while acquiring a vehicle bottom image.SOLUTION: A vehicle bottom image acquisition device 11 comprises a camera unit 12 for imaging the bottom of a vehicle passing by, and an information processing device 13 for acquiring data from the camera unit 12. The camera unit 12 includes a first scan part 16 for scanning in a direction substantially orthogonal to a traveling direction of the vehicle, and a second scan part 17 for scanning in a direction substantially orthogonal to the vehicle traveling direction at a position ahead or behind the first scan part in the vehicle traveling direction. The information processing device extracts respective feature points of the vehicle bottom images acquired using the first scan part 16 and the second scan part 17, calculates a parameter used for correcting the images acquired by the camera unit on the basis of a difference in a matching position between the feature points in the images, and corrects the distortion of the images on the basis of the parameter.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
