Abstract

To provide a printer which improves the image quality of a three-dimensional printing medium and the printing speed of an image.SOLUTION: A printer comprises: a head which has a nozzle that discharges ink to a printing medium and a discharge surface on which the nozzle opens; a platen which is located so as to be opposed to the discharge surface; a camera which images a plurality of printing media placed on the platen; a distance measuring sensor which measures a distance to the printing medium in the intersection direction intersecting the discharge surface; and a control unit. The control unit acquires the positions and inclinations of the plurality of printing media on the platen on the basis of the image obtained by imaging the plurality of printing media placed on the platen with the camera, causes the distance measuring sensor to measure a distance to the first printing medium being the partial printing medium included in the plurality of printing media, and acquires a distance between the discharge surface and the printing medium other than the first printing medium in the plurality of printing media on the basis of the positions and inclinations of the plurality of printing media, and the distance to the first printing medium measured by the distance measuring sensor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
