Abstract
To provide an apparatus, a system, and a method for a wireless device and a cellular base station to support common analog beam steering for a band group.SOLUTION: In a wireless communication system, a wireless device (UE 106) provides a suggestion of the wireless device's analog beam steering capabilities to a cellular base station (BS 102). For example, the wireless device supports a limited number of analog beams for each of one or more band groups. The cellular base station selects beam configuration information for the wireless device based at least in part on the suggestion of the wireless device's analog beam steering capabilities. For example, a common beam is selected for a plurality of component carriers for the wireless device based on the wireless device's analog beam steering capabilities. The cellular base station provides the beam configuration information to the wireless device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
