A system for publicly displaying messages includes elements carried by an automotive vehicle. In some embodiments the vehicle carries a publicly visible electronic display; a sensor for sensing the brightness of light in the vicinity of the display; and illumination varying circuitry for varying the brightness of light generated by the display in response to brightness detected by the sensor. In some embodiments the vehicles carries a publicly visible display formed by ganging together a plurality of displays, each having at least 640×480 pixels; and video drive circuitry for causing images to be shown on the ganged display with different portions of individual images being shown on each of the individual displays. In some embodiments the vehicle has an automotive electrical system and carries a publicly visible high-bright display, capable of providing over 1000 NITS illumination and having 640 by 480 or greater pixel resolution; and video drive circuitry causing images to be shown on the display. In some embodiments the vehicle carries a publicly visible electronic display and a computer. The computer has video drive circuitry for causing images to be shown on the display, a memory device capable of storing representations of animated display images represented in vector-based form; and programming for enabling the computer to generate animated images from the vector-based animation representations. In some embodiments the vehicle receives commands and/or information controlling what it is to display via a wireless transceiver.

Identification system and method for medication management

An identification system and method for medication management comprises a controller, a drug library accessible by the controller, the drug library containing drug library profiles including a data set of drug information, and an identification module configured to read patient identification information from machine-readable identification devices worn by patients and to read drug information from machine-readable identification devices affixed to drugs or containers of drugs. The controller compares the read information to each other and to the drug library profile and provides alerts or error signals in the event of an inconsistency. In one case, identification devices are read by an optical reader fixedly mounted to the identification module. In another case, identification devices are read by an optical reader that is hand-held and mobile and can be moved to the location of the identification device. The hand-held reader communicates with the identification module by wired or wireless means. In another case, a third reader that is non-optical and wireless is fixedly mounted to the identification module. The controller is also configured to provide alerts or error messages in the event that there is an inconsistency between the drug information on the drug or drug container when compared to the drug library profile associated with the controller.

Method, system and multi-mode terminal for implementing network selection in multi-standard communication network

The invention discloses a method, a system and a multimode terminal for the realization of the network selection in a multi-system communication network. When a network selection control entity is configured in the multi-system communication network and the multimode terminal needs services, the network selection control entity controls the multimode terminal to selectively access a network according to the configuring selection policy and the obtained selection reference information, and the multimode terminal carries out services via the selected access network. According to the proposal provided by the invention, a suitable access network can be determined to supply the service connection for the multimode terminal by combining the selection policy with the selection reference information according to the relevant information of the access network such as the load condition, so as to make the appropriate access network bear appropriate subscribers and services and ensure reasonable use of network resources. Accordingly, the multi-system networks can be matched with each other in a cooperation mode so as to economize the network resources and guarantee the economy of the construction of the multi-system communication network.

Translation server, translation method and program therefor

A translation server connected to a terminal via a network, comprises: an input information controller for receiving a translation instruction sent from the terminal, the translation instruction including location information representing a location of an object document to be translated, source language information representing an source language of the object document and target language information representing a translation target language of the object document, and obtaining the object document to be translated from a Web server on the basis of the location information; an information separator for separating the object document sent from the input information controller into a translation object part and a non-translation object part; a translator for translating the translation object part sent from the information separator according to the source language information and the target language information to obtain a translation result; an information converter for producing a retranslation instruction part for permitting the terminal to display a language information input column for inputting the source language information and the target language information by the user and a retranslation instruction input part and to send the translation instruction including the source language information and the target language information in the language information input column and the location information of the object document to be translated to the translation server; and an information synthesizer for synthesizing the translation result sent from the translator, the retranslation instruction part produced by the information converter and the non-translation object part sent from the information separator and sending a synthesized result to the terminal. As a result, the terminal sends a new translation instruction including the changed language information of the object document to the translation server and operability is effectively improved.
