System for determining web application vulnerabilities

A method for detecting security vulnerabilities in a web application includes analyzing the client requests and server responses resulting therefrom in order to discover pre-defined elements of the application's interface with external clients and the attributes of these elements. The client requests are then mutated based on a pre-defined set of mutation rules to thereby generate exploits unique to the application. The web application is attacked using the exploits and the results of the attack are evaluated for anomalous application activity.

Central work-product management system for coordinated collaboration with remote users

Client-specified methods, systems and computer program product with multi-protocol access for data input requests designed around a client's business application. It does this by interfacing IVR / telephony programming of multiple communication device protocols to separate data source input protocol programming, including remoting programming. Data input is by selected IVR / telephony responses designed around the needs of the individual client through selection process within a variety of configuration templates. The templates are designed to interface with the business applications through programming procedures for data entry specific to each application's protocol. The advantage, templates reduce user / client's interface with the business applications resulting in minimal time and knowledge of each applications data requirements, and limits each user's access to the system to specific data input. System response for data output is limited to the requested input for error reduction.

Tissue ablation system including guidewire with sensing element

A tissue ablation system for ablating human tissue wherein sensing and ablation procedures are performed and controlled independently. A sensing wire is positioned distally to the ablation region and is adapted to pass thorough the ablation device such that it may move with or independently of the ablation device without obstructing the surface tissue interface of the ablation energy. The ablation device can ablate a substantial portion of a circumferential region of tissue, for example at or near the location where the pulmonary vein extends from the atrium. The tissue ablation system comprises an ablation device comprised of an elongated catheter with a proximal region and a distal region and an ablation element located proximate the distal region of the catheter. A sensing device having an elongated body with a proximal portion and a distal portion is adapted to be positioned within a vessel at or near a vessel ostium, wherein the sensing device is adapted to be slidably received within a lumen of the ablation device. The sensing device, a guide wire for example, may be shaped in various configurations to allow sensing device such as electrodes disposed thereon to contact the vessel wall near the ablation region. In this fashion, the sensing and ablation procedures are de-coupled such that the sensing device does not interfere or obstruct the ablation member's interface with the tissue.

Development system providing extensible remoting architecture

A system providing improved methods for remote method invocation of a service is described. The system includes methodology for a client to cast, at design time, a generic interface class to a remote service having a defined interface. The generic interface class dynamically generates a proxy for making a remote method call on the remote service at runtime, while also providing for runtime type checking. Moreover, the generic interface class is subclassed to provide support for particular wire formats and methods of transport. The dynamically generated proxy converts a remote method call by the client into a wire format specified in the remote service's interface definition and calls the remote service using the method of transport specified in the interface definition. The system also includes methods to support making a service available to remote clients. The system includes modules that listen for remote method calls on a service and deserialize these calls into native format. This enables the service to be invoked by a native call in native format. The method includes reserializing results of the native call and returning these results in response to the remote method call.

Virtual network communication services utilizing internode message delivery task mechanisms

A networking services architecture is provided in which several communication media and protocols are supported. In commonly used communications middleware, the routing specification and messaging interface provided to a client application may depend on the communications protocol used. The client's interface is independent of the communication protocols supported for internode message delivery, and the routing specification is also independent of the number and type of communication protocols supported. For instance in a communication system, node A and node B could be connected using IP (Internet Protocol), while node B and node C could be connected using synchronous pooling. The routing specification is independent of these details since nodes are identified in a protocol independent manner.

This invention provides a method and system for developing a software application program with user interfaces that make resource files external to the other compiled executable files such that the information from the resource file may be obtained at runtime as needed without the need for compilation. The external resource file may be edited at runtime to allow designers to modify the application's interface without having to depend on developers implement changes in the interface. This is achieved by providing resources in a markup language and routines that locate and parse the markup language text on the fly as an application executes. Compartmentalization of the effort in developing and porting an application is facilitated for protection of source code and better management of designers and developers working on different aspects of a software application due to the externalization of the resource files needed primarily by the designers.

Method and system for wireless LAN network detection

A method and a system discover a wireless LAN network for a multi-mode handset in a power-efficient way. The method extends stand-by time for the cellular and wireless LAN multi-mode handset, taking advantage of that fact that the cellular interface demands less energy from the battery than the wireless LAN (WLAN)-based interface in such a handset. The method therefore uses the cellular interface as an always-on proxy for the wireless LAN interface to receive the initial packets of a communication session, and uses the initial packet or packets to activate the handset's interface with the wireless LAN.

Method for reducing interface load of home subscriber server

The present invention provides a method for reducing the load on Home Subscriber Server (HSS)'s interface. After receiving a request message from Serving Call Session Control Function (S-CSCF) comprising the request for storing the name of the S-CSCF and for downloading the user's subscription information, HSS first stores the name of S-CSCF in the request message, then returns to the S-CSCF a response message comprising the user's subscription information. This invention simplifies the steps of inquiring about the user's subscription information, optimizes the service procedure, and reduces the load on HSS's interface. In addition, when receiving the inquiry message from I-CSCF, HSS returns directly to I-CSCF response message comprising the S-CSCF name and the S-CSCF capability information set that has the capability to meet the most strict service subscription requirement of the UE, further reducing the load on HSS's interface. This invention has no impact on the existing network architecture and services, nor is it needed to modify the existing interface specifications, thus being highly compatible and extendable.

Method and system for implementing wireless data transfers between a selected group of mobile computing devices

A wireless communication method for selective transmission of data among a group of mobile computing devices. A user's device is used to broadcast a query to determine a group of mobile computing devices within communications range. A list of resulting mobile computing devices is then presented to the user through the device's interface. The user selects at least one of the mobile computing devices from the list for a data transfer. The data transfer is then performed to the selected at least one mobile computing device. Upon completion of the transfer, a confirmation is presented to the user. In this manner, wireless data transfers can be performed with a number of different mobile computing devices within communications range. The user can select a number of mobile computing devices from the list and perform the data transfer to each of the selected number in a single step. The data transfer is performed using a wireless RF communications link. The wireless RF communications link can be compatible with a version of the Bluetooth specification.

Automatic VLAN ID discovery for ethernet ports

A method, system and network protocol that enables each host within a virtual local area network (VLAN) environment to automatically discover to which VLANs the host belongs. When a host initially sets up a communication interface, the host generates a series of probing packets, each including a different one of the range of possible VLAN IDs within the packet header. The probing packet requests a response from the switch indicating whether the corresponding VLAN (identified by the VLAN ID) is supported by the switch. The switch automatically drops any packets with a VLAN ID not recognized / supported / configured in the switch. The destination device only receives supported packets, and thus the interface only receives a response for those request packets having a VLAN ID associated with a supported VLAN. The host's interface then knows which VLAN ID(s) are supported, and the host assigns / utilizes only those VLAN IDs for outgoing traffic.
