An apparatus and method for light and optical depth mapping, 3D imaging, modeling, networking, and interfacing on an autonomous, intelligent, wearable wireless wrist computing, display and control system for onboard and remote device and graphic user interface control. A high density non-volatile memory system, card, and device is described that incorporates a synchronous interface. This is accomplished through use of an external or embedded controller and/or memory buffer to manage the high density non-volatile memory device(s) to present it as a conventional memory device having a synchronous interface that is accessible by row and column address. This allows the high density non-volatile memory to support in-place code execution and allows it to be booted from. Additionally, this incorporation eliminates the overhead of drivers and/or operating system support required to utilize and present conventional high density non-volatile memory devices and moves it internal to the memory device. Systems and methods are described for handling graphical interfacing with a group conversation involving a communications hub and multiple member devices. Embodiments provide a “family chat” communications mode for facilitating a synchronous conversation among all the members of the designated family group. Typically, the conversation may involve a user supersystem (e.g., including one or more graphical communications devices) associated with the family and disposed with the family's local network, and member devices associated with each member of the family group (e.g., cell phones, etc). In some embodiments, the family chat conversation is displayed (e.g., rendered) as a substantially continuous feed graphically indicating the party contributing each message to the feed, the temporal relationship of the various contributions, and other useful information.

A home network architecture has an internal digital network interconnecting devices in the home. Entertainment services are introduced into the network through network interface units that are coupled to an external network and to the internal network. The network interface units perform the necessary interfacing between the external and internal networks and perform MPEG clock recovery from an MPEG video data stream. To prevent jitter when the MPEG data stream is transmitted over the internal network to set-top electronics, the recovered MPEG clock is locked by the network interface unit to the internal network clock and then transmitted over the internal network. The set-top electronics then recovers the MPEG clock from the locked MPEG clock transmitted over the internal network. The video data may then be generated using the recovered MPEG clock and displayed on a television, for example.

Described are systems and methods for incorporating the reflection of a user and surrounding environment into a graphical user interface (“GUI”). The resulting reflective user interface helps merge the real world of the user with the artificial world of the computer GUI. A video of the user and the surrounding environment is taken using a video capture device such as a web camera, and the video images are manipulated to create a reflective effect that is incorporated into elements of the GUI to create a reflective user interface. The reflective effect is customized for each different element of the GUI and varies by the size, shape and material depicted in the element. The reflective effect also includes incorporation of shadows and highlights into the reflective user interface, including shadows that are responsive to simulated or actual light sources in the surrounding environment.

The method (200) may further include interleaving the first composite plies (204) in the first uncured section (210) with the second composite plies (214) in the second uncured section (220) to form an interfacial region (256). Disclosed are a device and method for improved interfacing of differential mobility spectrometry (DMS) or field asymmetric waveform ion mobility spectrometry (FAIMS) analyzers of substantially planar geometry to subsequent or preceding instrument stages. Interfacing is achieved using curved DMS elements, where a thick ion beam emitted by planar DMS analyzers or injected into them for ion filtering is compressed to the gap median by DMS ion focusing effect in a spatially inhomogeneous electric field. Resulting thinner beams are more effectively transmitted through necessarily constrained conductance limit apertures to subsequent instrument stages operated at a pressure lower than DMS, and/or more effectively injected into planar DMS analyzers. The technology is synergetic with slit apertures, slit aperture/ion funnels, and high-pressure ion funnel interfaces known in the art which allow for increasing cross-sectional area of MS inlets. A scalable fulfillment system is presented that supports business processes, manages the transport and processing of business-related messages or documents between a business entity and clients, such as customers, vendors, and business partners, and generally supports business document processing. The system intelligently manages the transportation of files from clients, through processing of files, to generating responses that return to the clients. To accommodate a heterogeneous interfacing and processing with different clients in a central system, a file normalization technique is used that captures a common meta-data format from the numerous heterogeneous file types used by numerous clients. The meta-data files, also referred to as messages, contain links to their associated data files and are processed separately. Once the messages are entered into the system, an intelligent queue scheduler (IQS) is used to schedule the processing of messages across a scalable resource of processing engines based on normalized file meta-data parameters. The IQS supports serial processing file requirements in a parallel processing environment. The IQS in conjunction with processing daemons implement a dynamic queue that supports initial message entry and prioritization of messages within the IQS queue during the life cycle processing of a message. The processing daemons dynamically provide processing status, timestamps, message type information, client information and other similar information that can be used by the IQS in prioritizing processing steps. Message and file processing is partitioned in a series of separate action code modules that can be programmatically selected and sequenced in a desired processing pipelined order. By using a multi-pass action interfacing method, new actions can be defined and allowed to be pluggable in the system for processing new message types and adding new clients with possibly unique file types and interfaces. The ability to define new actions and define a programmable sequence of actions allows new capabilities of message processing as the system evolves.
