Abstract
To provide a method and an apparatus for encoding and decoding an image at a low bit rate through efficient split of the image.SOLUTION: A method for decoding an image includes steps of: determining a first coding block and a second coding block corresponding to the first coding block; obtaining first split shape mode information and second split shape mode information from a bitstream when size of the first coding block is less than or equal to predetermined size; and determining a split mode of the first coding block based on the first split shape mode information, and determining a split mode of the second coding block based on the second split shape mode information; and decoding the coding block of a first color component determined based on the split mode of the first coding block and the coding block of a second color component determined based on the split mode of the second coding block.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 23
