Abstract

Provided is a metal sheet for containers, etc., having a resin coating layer that satisfies the physical properties required for a resin coating layer when processed into a metal container and maintains a good appearance even after molding and heat treatment. The metal sheet for containers has a resin coating layer provided on at least one surface of the metal sheet. The resin coating layer contains a polyester resin and 0.1 mol % to 3.4 mol % of diethylene glycol as an alcohol component, and is formed by laminating multiple resin layers. The multiple resin layers include a pigment layer containing a white pigment and a lubricating layer containing 0.01 mass % to 0.75 mass % of a lubricating component. The lubricating layer is disposed on the outermost of the multiple resin layers. The lubricating component of the lubricating layer includes a polyolefin containing a polar group.
