Abstract

Shock absorbing device for protective packaging, comprising a housing having a first housing portion and a second housing portion, wherein the first housing portion is movable relative to the second housing portion at least along a moving axis, and wherein a receiving space is formed within the first housing portion and the second housing portion, an elastically deformable material being received within the receiving space such that the material at least initially is elastically deformed when the housing portions move relative to each other along the moving axis. The elastically deformable material comprises a solid foam portion.
