Description

[0001] A Nano-Scale Medicine Dispensing System with a Conveyor Unit for Enhanced Diagnosis, Prognosis, and Treatment for Patients and Method Thereof

[0002]

[0001] The present invention relates to a medicine dispensing system. Particularly the present invention relates to a nano-scale medicine dispensing system with a conveyor unit for enhanced diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment for patients. It operates by matching each patient's DNA, physiology, and metabolism with a system capable of creating designer medicines. More specifically, the present invention relates to a nano-scale intelligent conveyor unit combined with a nano-dispensary unit, designed to revolutionize the way personalized medicine is administered.

[0003] Background of the Invention

[0004]

[0002] Recent advancements in personalized medicine focus on tailoring medical treatments to individual patients based on their unique genetic, physiological, and metabolic profiles. Intelligent medical devices that can rapidly diagnose and customize treatments at the point of care are essential for improving patient outcomes, especially for serious conditions like cancer.

[0005]

[0003] Traditionally, medical treatments often follow a "one size fits all" approach, where standardized therapies are applied regardless of individual differences in patients' genetic, physiological, and metabolic characteristics. This can lead to suboptimal results, as it does not consider how different patients respond to treatments. For instance, women worldwide diagnosed with breast cancer frequently receive the same chemotherapy regimen, such as Tamoxifen, despite varying abilities to metabolize and tolerate the drug. This can lead to ineffective treatment for some and severe side effects for others.

[0006]

[0004] To address the need for personalized medicine, several technologies and approaches have been developed, including genetic testing, pharmacogenomics, biomarker analysis, and automated dispensing systems.

[0007]

[0005] Genetic testing and pharmacogenomics involve analyzing a patient's genetic information to predict their response to certain drugs, enabling more informed treatment decisions. However, these approaches can be time-consuming, require separate analysis and interpretation, and are not always integrated into routine clinical practice, which can delay treatment and limit accessibility in urgent scenarios.

[0006] Using biomarkers to guide treatment involves identifying specific biological markers to predict a patient's response to therapy. However, this approach depends on the availability of relevant markers, which may not be present in all patients, leading to incomplete or inaccurate treatment guidance.

[0008]

[0007] Automated dispensing systems in pharmacies and hospitals aim to accurately dispense medications based on prescribed dosages, reducing human error and improving medication management. Advanced laboratory systems automate diagnostic processes, including sample handling, analysis, and reporting, enhancing efficiency and accuracy. However, these systems do not address individual patient variability in drug metabolism and response, focusing instead on general medication management.

[0009]

[0008] Despite the progress made with these technologies, they have limitations such as limited integration and speed. Additionally, many advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies are costly and require significant infrastructure and expertise, which can be prohibitive in resource-limited settings or smaller practices. The lack of a unified system integrating patient data, diagnostic results, and treatment customization can result in errors and inefficiencies.

[0010]

[0009] To overcome these challenges, the development of an artificial intelligence (Al)-based nano-scale dispensing system offers a novel solution. This system integrates advanced diagnostics, real-time data analysis, and personalized treatment customization into a single, compact apparatus. Utilizing artificial intelligence and nano-technology, the system aims to deliver rapid, accurate, and individualized medical care at the point of need, significantly enhancing patient outcomes and advancing personalized medicine.

[0042]

[0042] Figure IB illustrates to a schematic view of a nano-dispensary unit dispensing one or more cellulose capsules onto a petri dish containing a biological sample. In one embodiment herein, the nano- sized conveyor unit 112 begins by setting up the track 113 design. The track 113 consists of two parallel conduits mounted on nano-sized sleepers (not shown). These conduits can be solid bars or hollow tubes and are configured with an elliptical "C" cross-section, creating a channel for the drive beads 114 to travel through. The conduits are arranged slightly apart, allowing the drive beads 114 to move smoothly between them. The track 113 ’s geometry can be customized to fit various shapes and sizes, adapting to experimental needs.

[0043]

[0043] In one embodiment herein, the drive beads 114, which are the driving components of the conveyor unit 112, are placed between the two conduits. Each drive bead 114 features a vertical shaft that connects to support trays 115 or platforms holding nano petri dishes 116. These support trays 115 are designed to be lightweight and can be either round or square. Round support trays 115 are preferred for smoother movement around the track 113 ’ s radiused corners. The drive beads 114 are driven along the track 113 by the Bead Drive mechanism, which ensures minimal friction and stable movement.

[0044]

[0044] In one embodiment herein, the RFID system 119 is integrated into the support trays 115 and drive beads 114. Each support tray 115 and drive bead 114 is equipped with a small RFID tag 119B that stores identification information for each petri dish 116. As the support trays 115 move along the track 113, an RFID reader 119A located at specific points — often near the nano-dispensary unit 110 — reads the RFID tags 119B. This system ensures accurate tracking and management of each petri dish 116, linking them to corresponding patient data and experimental parameters.

[0045]

[0045] In one embodiment herein, the nano-dispensary unit 110 is positioned along the track 113 to dispense reagents and compounds. The nano-dispensary unit 110 can be cylindrical or rectangular and contains numerous vertical plurality of nano capillary vertical tubes 110A filled with powders or compounds encased in biodegradable cellulose capsules 118. As petri dishes 116 pass beneath the nano-dispensary unit 110, the unit releases specific substances into the dishes. The Al module 108 controls the nano-dispensary unit 110 based on the patient’s data, ensuring precise dosage and mixing of chemicals.

[0046]

[0046] In one embodiment herein, the track 113 design incorporates modular elements that allow for easy expansion or modification. This modularity enables the track 113 to be adapted for different research or diagnostic applications. For example, additional sections can be added to accommodate more samples or experimental conditions.

[0047] In one embodiment herein, the actuator unit is used to divert petri dishes 116 from their support trays 115 onto adjacent tracks 113 or into specific testing zones. This allows the system to direct samples through areas with controlled environmental conditions, such as ultraviolet light, infrared heat, or cold temperatures. The actuator ensures that petri dishes 116 are accurately transferred to these zones for customized testing.

[0047]

[0048] In one embodiment herein, the track 113 ’s flexibility and modular design enable it to handle various experimental setups. The system can be adjusted to create irregular track shapes or to include different environmental controls. This adaptability is particularly useful for observing how chemical cocktails react under varying conditions, enhancing the ability to conduct diverse and comprehensive tests.

[0048]

[0049] In one embodiment herein, the track 113 of the nano-scale medicine dispensing system 100 is formed from a single metal or composite tube with a "C" cross-section, oriented with an aperture resembling the letter "U." This tube is elliptical, with radiused comers at the ends and straight sections of variable length, adjusted according to available space. Nano-sized sleepers (not shown) are positioned underneath the track 113 to support the compression-driven plurality of drive beads 114 constrained within the tubular track 113. These drive beads 114 may be connected or disconnected.

[0049]

[0050] Each drive bead 114 in the system features a small rod or shaft that protrudes vertically through the slot in the "C" sectioned channel of the track 113. This shaft creates a fixed connection to plurality of nano-sized support trays 115 designed to hold at least one petri dish 116 containing patient samples such as swabs, blood, or biopsy sections. The support trays 115 are lightweight and can be round or square. Round support trays 115 are preferred due to their better stability and ease of movement around the track 113 ’s radiused comers.

[0050]

[0051] In one embodiment herein, each drive bead 114 or support tray 115 is equipped with a small RFID tag 119B for identification. This RFID tag 119B links each petri dish 116 to a database, ensuring accurate tracking of samples. An RFID reader 119A, positioned along the track 113 — likely near the nano-dispensary unit 110 — reads these RFID tags 119B as the petri dishes 116 pass, facilitating precise delivery of reagents or compounds.

[0051]

[0052] In one embodiment herein, the nano-dispensary unit 110, which can be cylindrical or rectangular, contains numerous vertical plurality of nano capillary vertical tubes 110A filled with powders or compounds encased in one or more cellulose capsules 118. These capsules are biodegradable and hold liquids or powders, which are replenished when necessary. The nano-dispensary unit 110 dispenses these substances into the petri dishes 116, mixing specific chemicals, proteins, enzymes, or natural materials to create tailored dosages.

[0052]

[0053] In one embodiment herein, the track 113 design includes two parallel nano -sized conduits mounted on plastic or metal sleepers (not shown). The conduits can be made from solid bars, which facilitate easier shaping of curves and radiused comers compared to hollow tubes. The slight spacing between the conduits minimizes friction and supports smooth movement of the drive beads 114. Each drive bead 114 connects to support trays 115 carrying the petri dishes 116 via male / f emale connection stems. Depending on the size ratio between the support trays 115 and petri dishes 116, multiple drive beads 114 might connect to each support tray 115, with some drive beads 114 acting as slaves to maintain compression.

[0053]

[0054] In one embodiment herein, the track 113 design allows for flexibility in shape and configuration, accommodating varying experimental needs. For example, the system can move petri dishes 116 through zones with controlled heat, light, or cold temperatures to observe how different chemical cocktails react under these conditions. The track 113 design of the nano-sized conveyor unit 112 is crucial for its functionality and efficiency. It integrates several key components to ensure smooth operation and precise handling of samples.

[0054]

[0055] In one embodiment herein, the track 113 consists of two parallel conduits, each formed from a durable material such as metal or plastic. These conduits can be solid bars or hollow tubes, with solid bars being preferred for their ease of shaping and durability. The conduits are arranged slightly apart but remain parallel, creating a track for the movement of drive beads 114 between them. This parallel arrangement helps in reducing friction and ensures stable travel of the drive beads 114.

[0055]

[0056] In one embodiment herein, the conduits have a "C" cross-sectional shape with an aperture oriented like the letter "U." This design allows drive beads 114 to travel smoothly along the track 113 while providing space for vertical shafts to protrude and connect to the support trays 115. The elliptical shape of the conduits, with radiused corners at the ends, facilitates smooth transitions around corners and minimizes wear and tear. The straight sections of the conduits can be adjusted in length based on the available space and layout requirements.

[0056]

[0057] In one embodiment herein, the nano-sized sleepers (not shown) are installed beneath the conduits to support and stabilize the track 113. These sleepers (not shown) ensure that the conduits remain securely in place and provide a stable foundation for the drive beads 114 to move along the track 113. The sleepers (not shown) can be made from plastic or metal and are fixed to the tabletop or base structure with screws or other fasteners.

[0057]

[0058] In one embodiment herein, the drive beads 114, which are the driving elements of the conveyor unit, fit between the two conduits. Each drive bead 114 features a vertical shaft that connects to a support tray 115 or platform holding the nano petri dishes 116. The drive beads 114 are designed to provide minimal friction as they travel along the track 113, thanks to the rounded surfaces of the conduits and the smooth movement of the beads 114.

[0058]

[0059] In one embodiment herein, the support trays 115, which hold the petri dishes 116, are connected to the drive beads 114 via male / f emale connection stems. These stems ensure that the trays remain securely attached to the beads 114 while allowing for easy removal and replacement. Depending on the size ratio between the support trays 115 and petri dishes 116, more than one drive bead 114 may be connected to each support tray 115. Some drive beads 114 may act as slaves to maintain the necessary compression and movement.

[0059]

[0060] In one embodiment herein, the track 113 design allows for flexibility in shape and configuration. It can be adjusted to accommodate various experimental needs, including irregular track shapes or different environmental conditions. For example, the track 113 can be configured to move petri dishes 116 through zones with controlled heat, light, or cold temperatures. This adaptability allows for customized testing conditions, such as observing the effects of different chemical cocktails under varying environments.

[0060]

[0061] In one embodiment herein, the actuator unit can be integrated into the track 113 design to divert petri dishes 116 from their support trays 115 to adjacent tracks or testing zones. This enables the system to direct samples into areas where they can be exposed to specific environmental conditions, such as ultraviolet light or infrared heat. Each support tray 115 and drive bead 114 is equipped with an RFID tag 119B for tracking and identification. The RFID system 119 ensures accurate management of each petri dish 116 as it moves through the conveyor, linking it to the corresponding patient data and experimental parameters.

[0061]

[0062] In one embodiment herein, the track 113 design is modular, allowing for easy expansion or modification based on the scale of operations and specific experimental requirements. This modularity ensures that the system can be adapted for different types of research and diagnostic applications.

[0062]

[0063] In one embodiment herein, the Al-driven system 100 manages the entire process. Upon inputting patient data — including unique DNA, blood test results, disease stage, and other relevant medical conditions — the Al module 108 customizes the treatment. The system accounts for individual patient histories, ensuring that treatments are tailored to specific needs rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. The Al module 108 analyzes all data to recommend the most suitable treatments and adjust dosages, thereby improving patient outcomes.

[0063]

[0064] Figure 2 illustrates a flow chart 200 a method for providing personalized medical treatment, in accordance with yet another embodiment of the present disclosure. At step 202, one or more biological samples 120 are obtained from at least one patient. At step 204, the artificial intelligence module 108 analyses the patient data related to DNA, physiology, and metabolic information. At step 206, the one or more biological samples 120 are transported using the petri dishes 116 via the nano-sized conveyor unit 112.

[0064]

[0065] At step, 208, the combination of medicines and compounds are dispensed onto the one or more biological samples 120 through the nano-dispensary unit 110 controlled by the computing device 102 integrated with an artificial intelligence (Al) module 108 based on the analysed patient data. Further, at step 210, the Al module 108 monitors the reaction of the one or more biological samples 120 to the dispensed combination of medicines and compounds, and capture data for further analysis.
