Description

Water-based liquid cosmetics

[0001] The present specification relates to an aqueous liquid cosmetic preparation containing a platy pigment that exhibits glitter, and more specifically, to an aqueous liquid cosmetic preparation that can be suitably used in applicators such as direct-type eyeliners, eyeshadows, and eyebrow liners, by suppressing sedimentation of the platy pigment.

[0002]

[0003] Conventionally, aqueous liquid cosmetics intended to form a lustrous coating on the surface to be applied, such as the skin or eyebrows, have generally contained a plate-like pigment (lustrous pigment) that exhibits lustrous properties. However, this plate-like pigment is prone to settling, and once it settles and forms a layered hard cake, the layered structure is difficult to peel off again, making it difficult to redisperse in the liquid. As a result, the lustrous pigments overlap even when drawing lines, making it impossible to achieve a sense of lustre commensurate with the amount blended.

[0003] To solve the above problem, a method is known in which the vehicle is made highly viscous to prevent the formation of a hard cake of the layered plate-like pigment. However, this method has problems such as limitations on the ejection means and its structure.

[0004] On the other hand, patent documents of water-based liquid cosmetics containing plate-like pigments and applicators thereof to date include, for example: 1) In order to provide a water-based cosmetic that has high brightness and can be used as a brush-type eyeliner, the water-based cosmetic comprises (a) a glitter pigment having an average particle size of 10 to 100 μm, (b) an acrylic resin emulsion, and (c) a thickener selected from the group consisting of silica, clay mineral, palmitoyl dipeptide, cellulose, cellulose nanofiber, and xanthan gum, wherein the content of component (c) in the water-based cosmetic is 0.1 to 0.35% by mass and the viscosity at 25° C. is 5 to 30 mPa·s (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

[0005] 2) A water-based eyeliner composition that combines and blends a glitter pigment, carbon black, a microbial polysaccharide, a volatile alcohol, and an alkyl acrylate copolymer emulsion to provide a water-based eyeliner composition that has excellent friction resistance, vivid color development, a smooth application feel, and good storage stability (see, for example, Patent Document 2).

[0006] 3) To provide an aqueous makeup cosmetic that spreads smoothly, has excellent color development and glossiness, has a high cosmetic effect, adheres well to the skin, provides excellent cosmetic durability, and also has excellent storage stability, the aqueous makeup cosmetic contains (A) an aqueous alkali-thickened polymer emulsion, (B) a pigment, (C) a glittering powder, (D) an ethanol-soluble film-forming agent, and (E) an alkali, and contains at least carbon black as component (B) (see, for example, Patent Document 3).

[0007] 4) To provide a liquid cosmetic composition that can easily produce a clear, lustrous coating film without overlapping of the plate-like pigment when the liquid cosmetic composition is filled into an applicator with an application part such as a brush and applied to a surface to be treated such as the skin, without the plate-like pigment overlapping, a liquid cosmetic composition is known (see, for example, Patent Document 4), which contains 0.01 to 10 mass % of a plate-like pigment whose surface is coated with at least a compound selected from the group consisting of cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, chitin, and chitosan, 0.05 to 5 mass % of layered clay mineral particles, 1 to 20 mass % of an acrylic copolymer in terms of solid content, and water, and is filled into an applicator with an application part having a brush (see, for example, Patent Document 4).

[0008] However, the aqueous liquid cosmetics containing the platy pigments described in Patent Documents 1 to 4 still have issues, such as the loss of the brilliance of the platy pigment when pigments or layered clay minerals are blended to improve color, etc. Furthermore, when the platy pigments overlap each other in a drawn line, they can cause issues such as a loss of brilliance. Furthermore, they can form structures with other blended pigments, forming layered hard cakes that make redispersion in the liquid difficult. This can hinder the pigment's ejection, resulting in issues such as an inability to achieve color development or brilliance commensurate with the blended amount. Furthermore, when the aqueous liquid cosmetics described in Patent Documents 1 to 3 are loaded (filled) into direct-flow eyeliners, eyeshadows, or other products equipped with an application part with a brush tip, issues such as insufficient ejection and poor writing (application) remain.

[0009] JP 2022-131500 A (claims, examples, etc.) JP 2007-153744 A (claims, examples, etc.) JP 2017-114803 A (claims, examples, etc.) JP 2021-14412 A (claims, examples, etc.)

[0010] The present disclosure has been made in view of the above-mentioned conventional problems and current situations, and aims to solve these problems, and to provide an aqueous liquid cosmetic that can be suitably mounted on applicators such as direct-flow eyeliners, eye shadows, and eyebrow liners that have an applicator part with a brush tip, by suppressing the settling of plate-like pigments that exhibit brilliance, and that enables the drawing of lines that maintain a constant hue and brightness over time.

[0011] As a result of extensive research into the above-mentioned conventional problems, the present inventors have discovered that the above-mentioned desired aqueous liquid cosmetic can be obtained by incorporating at least a predetermined amount of a plate-like pigment whose surface is coated with a compound that has specific physical properties, a chromatic pigment having a particle size within a specific range, and predetermined amounts of an acrylic copolymer and water, and by loading these ingredients into an applicator equipped with an applicator part made up of a brush tip, and have thereby completed the present disclosure.

[0012] That is, the aqueous liquid cosmetic of the present disclosure contains at least (a) 0.01 to 10 mass % of a plate-like pigment whose surface is coated with a compound selected from Group A below, (b) at least one chromatic pigment having an average particle size of 0.01 to 1 μm as measured by dynamic light scattering, (c) 1 to 20 mass % in terms of solid content of an acrylic copolymer, and (d) water, and is characterized in that it is mounted on an applicator having an applicator part composed of a brush tip. Group A: cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, chitin, chitosan. The aqueous liquid cosmetic preferably further contains a thickener. The thickener is preferably a dextrin and / or a thickening polysaccharide. The aqueous liquid cosmetic preferably has a viscosity of 1000 psi at 25°C and a shear rate of 191.5 s -1 It is preferable that the viscosity measured by the method is 15.0 mPa·s or less.

[0013] According to the present disclosure, by suppressing the settling of the platy pigment that exhibits brilliance, an aqueous liquid cosmetic composition is provided that can be suitably mounted on applicators such as direct-flow eyeliners, eyeshadows, and eyebrow liners equipped with an application part having a tip, and that enables the drawing of lines that maintain a consistent hue and brightness over time. The objects and advantages of the present disclosure can be realized and attained by using the elements and combinations particularly pointed out in the claims. Both the general description above and the detailed description below are exemplary and explanatory and do not limit the present disclosure as defined by the claims.

[0014] (a) and (b) are a perspective view and a longitudinal cross-sectional view of an applicator having an applicator part composed of a brush tip, showing an example of an embodiment of an applicator filled with the aqueous liquid cosmetic preparation of the present disclosure. (a) and (b) are drawings showing an example of a pen-type applicator part used in a comparative example, where (a) is a front view and (b) is a cross-sectional view taken along line X-X of (a).

[0015] Embodiments of the present disclosure are described in detail below. However, please note that the technical scope of the present disclosure is not limited to the embodiments detailed below, but extends to the inventions set forth in the claims and their equivalents. Furthermore, the present disclosure can be implemented based on the contents disclosed in this specification and the common general technical knowledge in the relevant field (including design matters and obvious matters). The aqueous liquid cosmetic composition of the present disclosure contains at least (a) 0.01 to 10% by mass of a plate-like pigment whose surface is coated with a compound selected from Group A below; (b) at least one chromatic pigment having an average particle size of 0.01 to 1 μm as measured by dynamic light scattering; (c) 1 to 20% by mass of an acrylic copolymer in terms of solid content; and (d) water, and is characterized in that it is mounted on an applicator having an applicator part composed of a brush tip. Group A: cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, chitin, chitosan

[0016] The plate-like pigment used in the present disclosure is a plate-like pigment that has luster and is coated on the surface with at least a compound selected from Group A above, and examples thereof include plate-like pigments such as pearl pigments, aluminum flake pigments (aluminum powder pigments), metal- or metal oxide-coated glass flakes, and aluminum-coated polyester films, which are coated on the surface with at least a compound selected from Group A above.

[0017] The compound selected from Group A in the present disclosure can be at least one selected from the group consisting of polymers such as cellulose (oxidized cellulose, fermented cellulose, etc.), hemicellulose, lignin, chitin, and chitosan (either alone or in combination of two or more thereof, the same applies hereinafter). Examples of methods for coating the surface of the plate-like pigment with this compound include: 1) a method in which an aqueous slurry containing at least one compound selected from Group A and the plate-like pigment is spray-dried using a spray dryer, thereby adhering the compound selected from Group A to the surface of the plate-like pigment (hereinafter referred to as "Production Method 1"); and 2) a method in which a substance soluble in an acidic or basic aqueous solution is dissolved in water by adjusting the pH, and the pH is then adjusted with an acid or base to insolubilize the substance, thereby precipitating at least one compound selected from Group A on the surface of the plate-like pigment (hereinafter referred to as "Production Method 2"). If the surface coating amount of the compound selected from Group A is too small, the redispersibility effect due to hard caking prevention cannot be obtained, whereas if it is too large, not only will the pearly appearance (glossiness) decrease, but the pearl surface will become planar contact rather than point contact, making it impossible to obtain the redispersibility effect. Therefore, the surface coating amount of the compound selected from Group A is desirably 0.1 to 10%, preferably 0.5 to 8%, and more preferably 1 to 7%, in terms of the surface coverage rate of the plate-like pigment (calculated from the mass % at the time of surface treatment).

[0018] Specific examples of the plate-like pigments that can be used include commercially available aluminum flake pigments, metal oxide-coated glass flakes (such as those sold under the trade name "Metashine"), and metal oxide-coated mica (such as those sold under the trade name "Lumina"), which have been surface-coated with a compound selected from Group A. Furthermore, commercially available plate-like pigments with a surface coated with a compound selected from Group A can also be used. Generally, the larger the particle size of the smooth surface of the coated plate-like pigment used, the higher the sense of brilliance. However, in order to optimally achieve the effects of the present disclosure, a particle size of approximately 5 μm to 100 μm is preferred. In the present disclosure (including the examples), "particle size" or the "average particle size" described below refers to a value measured and calculated by dynamic light scattering (using a particle size analyzer FPAR-1000, manufactured by Otsuka Electronics Co., Ltd.), or a D50 value calculated on a volume basis using a particle size distribution analyzer HR9320-X100 (manufactured by Nikkiso Co., Ltd.). When the plate-like pigment used in the present disclosure and coated with a compound selected from Group A obtained above is observed under an electron microscope (×35,000), crystals of the compound can be confirmed on the surface. Note that, as a method for distinguishing between the plate-like pigment coated with a compound selected from Group A and the uncoated plate-like pigment in the present disclosure, it can be confirmed that a system containing an uncoated plate-like pigment does not provide redispersibility, but a system in which a compound selected from Group A is used to coat the surface of the plate-like particles provides good redispersibility.

[0019] In the present disclosure, the content of the plate-like pigment coated with a compound selected from Group A is preferably 0.01 to 10% by mass (hereinafter, "% by mass" will be simply referred to as "%"), more preferably 0.5 to 5%, relative to the total amount of the aqueous liquid cosmetic, in order to obtain sufficient brilliance and hiding power during product use. If the content of this coated plate-like pigment is less than 0.01%, the brilliance will be poor. On the other hand, if the content exceeds 10%, a high concentration of the plate-like pigment will inevitably increase the brilliance and become expensive, thereby diminishing the significance of the configuration of the present disclosure. Furthermore, as the application progresses, the application properties will tend to deteriorate or the application will be poor, which is undesirable. Note that unsurface-treated plate-like pigments will promote hard caking.

[0020] The component (b) used in the present disclosure is at least one chromatic pigment having an average particle size of 0.01 to 1 μm as measured by dynamic light scattering, with a chromatic pigment having an average particle size of 0.05 μm to 0.8 μm being more preferred. If the average particle size of this chromatic pigment is less than 0.01 μm, poor redispersibility is observed due to the formation of hard cake, while if it exceeds 1 μm, poor hue difference between upper and lower particles is observed due to sedimentation of the chromatic pigment. Usable chromatic pigments include both inorganic and organic color pigments. The shape and particle structure of these chromatic pigments are not particularly limited as long as they are commonly used in the field of cosmetics.

[0021] Examples of inorganic color pigments include inorganic white pigments such as titanium oxide and zinc oxide; inorganic red pigments such as iron oxide, iron hydroxide and iron titanate; inorganic brown pigments such as γ-iron oxide; inorganic yellow pigments such as yellow iron oxide and ochre; inorganic black pigments such as black iron oxide and carbon black; inorganic purple pigments such as manganese violet and cobalt violet; inorganic green pigments such as chromium hydroxide, chromium oxide, cobalt oxide and cobalt titanate; and inorganic blue pigments such as iron blue and ultramarine. Examples of organic color pigments include Red No. 201, Red No. 202, Red No. 204, Red No. 205, Red No. 220, Red No. 226, Red No. 228, Red No. 405, Orange No. 203, Yellow No. 205, Yellow No. 4, Yellow No. 5, Blue No. 1, and Blue No. 404; water-soluble dye lakes (e.g., zirconium lake, barium lake, and aluminum lake) such as Red No. 3, Red No. 104, Red No. 106, Red No. 227, Red No. 230, Red No. 401, Red No. 505, Orange No. 205, Yellow No. 4, Yellow No. 5, Yellow No. 202, Yellow No. 203, Green No. 3, and Blue No. 1; and natural dyes such as chlorophyll and β-carotene and lakes thereof.

[0022] These chromatic pigments of a specified particle size may be used alone, or two or more types may be used in combination. The total content of these chromatic pigments of a specified particle size can be selected appropriately depending on the application of the aqueous liquid cosmetic. It is preferably 0.01 to 15%, and more preferably 0.05 to 10%, based on the total amount of the aqueous liquid cosmetic. If the content of these chromatic pigments is excessively high, exceeding 15%, it becomes difficult to eject the liquid, and conversely, if it is less than 0.01%, the effect of the coloring material may be insufficient.

[0023] The acrylic copolymer of component (c) used in the present disclosure is used from the viewpoint of further adhesion and dispersion stability, and for example, it includes at least one of alkyl acrylate copolymer, acrylate copolymer, ammonium acrylate copolymer, acrylic resin alkanolamine liquid, alkyl acrylate-vinyl acetate copolymer, (alkyl acrylate / octylacrylamide) copolymer, silicone-modified acrylic copolymer, and octylacrylamide-acrylic acid copolymer. In particular, the acrylic copolymer used in the present disclosure is preferably an alkyl acrylate copolymer or an acrylate copolymer, etc., from the viewpoint of further demonstrating the effects of the present disclosure and improving adhesion.

[0024] Examples of alkyl acrylate copolymers that can be used include commercially available products such as DAITOSOL 5000STY, DAITOSOL 5000AD, DAITOSOL 5000SJ, DAITOSOL 4000SJT, DAITOSOL 5500GM, and DAITOSOL Examples of suitable acrylic copolymers include 5000PO (manufactured by Daito Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.), Yodozole GH34F, Yodozole GH800F (manufactured by Nouryon Japan Co., Ltd.), Vinisol 1086DB, Vinisol 1087FT, Vinisol 1089HT, Vinisol 1012JC, Vinisol 1013JH, Vinisol 2140L, Vinisol 2140LH, Vinisol 1086WP, Vinisol 1087FT, Vinisol 1089HT (manufactured by Daido Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.), Luvimer 100P (manufactured by BASF Japan Ltd.), AMPHOMER HC (manufactured by Nouryon Japan Co., Ltd.), SYNTRAN EX149PE, SYNTRAN 5402 (manufactured by Interpolymer Corporation), and the like.

[0025] The content of these acrylic copolymers is preferably 1 to 20% in terms of solid content relative to the total amount of the aqueous liquid cosmetic, and more preferably 3 to 19%. If the content of this acrylic copolymer is less than 1%, poor adhesion and a worsening of the difference in concentration between the top and bottom due to low viscosity will be observed, while if it is too high, exceeding 20%, the viscosity will be too high, making it difficult to eject the liquid.

[0026] The aqueous liquid cosmetic preparation of the present disclosure preferably contains a thickener from the viewpoints of application property, storage stability, further suppression of sedimentation of the plate-like pigment, etc. As for the thickeners that can be used, as will be described later, those that are preferably used to adjust the viscosity of the aqueous liquid cosmetic preparation to an appropriate level and to achieve the above-mentioned effects of inclusion are preferably dextrins and / or thickening polysaccharides.

[0027] Dextrins that can be used are generally carbohydrates obtained by hydrolyzing starch or glycogen to lower molecular weight. Dextrins can have a molecular structure in which α-glucose is polymerized via α-(1→4) or α-(1→6) glycosidic bonds. In the present disclosure, "dextrins" refers to dextrins selected from the group consisting of acyclic dextrins in which α-glucose units are bonded in a linear or branched chain, cyclic dextrins in which α-glucose units are bonded in a ring, and mixtures thereof.

[0028] The acyclic dextrin may be a dextrin having a dextrose equivalent (DE value) of more than 0, 1 or more, 3 or more, 5 or more, 7 or more, or 10 or more, and less than 100, 80 or less, 60 or less, 40 or less, 30 or less, 20 or less, 17 or less, or 15 or less. The cyclic dextrin may be a cyclic dextrin having 5 or more, 6 or more, or 7 or more glucose units in the molecule, and 20 or less, 15 or less, or 10 or less. Examples of such cyclic dextrins that may be used include unsubstituted cyclic dextrins such as α-cyclodextrin, β-cyclodextrin, and γ-cyclodextrin, and substituted cyclic dextrins such as hydroxypropylated β-cyclodextrin and maltosylcyclodextrin. Examples of dextrins that can be used include commercially available products such as 103 Dextrin (manufactured by Tokai Dextrin Co., Ltd.) and Celldex SL-20 (manufactured by Nihon Shokuhin Kako Co., Ltd.).

[0029] Examples of usable thickening polysaccharides include xanthan gum, succinoglycan, guar gum, casein, gum arabic, gelatin, amylose, agarose, agaropectin, arabinan, curdlan, callose, carboxymethyl starch, chitin, chitosan, quince seed, glucomannan, gellan gum, tamarind seed gum, diutan gum, dextran, nigeran, hyaluronic acid, pustulan, funoran, pectin, porphyran, laminaran, lichenan, carrageenan, alginic acid, tragacanth gum, alkaloid gum, and locust bean gum. Of these, xanthan gum, succinoglycan, and diutan gum are preferred. Commercially available thickening polysaccharides include, for example, xanthan gum (KELZAN AR; manufactured by Sansho Co., Ltd.), succinoglycan (RHEOZAN SH; manufactured by Solvay Co., Ltd.), and diutan gum (KELCO-VIS DG-F; manufactured by Sansho Co., Ltd.). The thickening polysaccharides may be used alone or in combination of two or more.

[0030] As described below, the content of each of the thickeners described above in the present disclosure may be adjusted to a suitable viscosity range for the aqueous liquid cosmetic composition so that the effects of the present disclosure can be exhibited, and the content is adjusted to a suitable amount relative to the total amount of the aqueous liquid cosmetic composition.

[0031] The aqueous liquid cosmetic preparation of the present disclosure is prepared from the above-mentioned components, with the remainder being water (purified water, ion-exchanged water, distilled water, pure water, etc.) as the solvent. Furthermore, the aqueous liquid cosmetic preparation of the present disclosure may contain, as appropriate, humectants, antibacterial agents, antifoaming agents, inorganic or organic pigments, crystalline cellulose, clay minerals, surfactants, water-soluble organic solvents, and the like, as long as they do not interfere with the dispersion system or impair the effects of the present disclosure. Usable humectants include, for example, water-soluble glycols such as 1,3-butylene glycol, 1,4-butylene glycol, pentylene glycol, ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, and glycerin. The content of these humectants is preferably 1 to 30%, more preferably 5 to 20%, of the total amount of the composition.

[0032] Examples of antibacterial agents that can be used include parabens, sodium dehydroacetate, and phenoxyethanol. The antibacterial agent of the present disclosure contains a preservative, and examples of the parabens used as preservatives include methyl parahydroxybenzoate, ethyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, butyl parahydroxybenzoate, and isopropyl parahydroxybenzoate, and the like, can be used in appropriate amounts. Examples of antifoaming agents that can be used include polydimethylsiloxane (simethicone). This polydimethylsiloxane is a silicone oil composed of a mixture of linear siloxane polymers whose ends are blocked and methylated with trimethylsiloxy units, and a commercially available product such as KS-66 (manufactured by Shin-Etsu Silicones Co., Ltd.) can be used in appropriate amounts.

[0033] In the present disclosure, in order to obtain even more vivid color development, in addition to the above-described coated plate-like pigment and chromatic pigment of a predetermined particle size, a dye can be blended to an extent that does not impair the effects of the present disclosure, thereby achieving even more vivid color tones. Furthermore, in the present disclosure, the pH of the aqueous liquid cosmetic is preferably set in the range of 6 to 9 from the viewpoint of suppressing skin irritation. The pH can be adjusted using pH adjusters such as 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol, 2-amino-2-methyl-1,3-propanediol, triethanolamine, L-arginine, ammonia water, and sodium hydroxide, with 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol being particularly preferred.

[0034] Furthermore, if the viscosity of the aqueous liquid cosmetic composition of the present disclosure is too high, it will not be ejected from the brush tip, and if it is too low, the lines drawn will bleed, making it difficult to use. -1The viscosity at this temperature is preferably 15 mPa·s or less, and more preferably in the range of 2 to 10 mPa·s. By setting the viscosity within the above ranges, the flow rate is ensured, and the ink is easy to apply and to draw lines without bleeding. The viscosity range can be adjusted by combining the coated plate-like pigment, chromatic color pigment, water, and acrylic copolymer in suitable amounts, or by adjusting suitable stirring and dispersion conditions.

[0035] The aqueous liquid cosmetic preparation of the present disclosure is prepared by mixing and dispersing the above-mentioned components in the amounts and the like within the above-mentioned ranges using a mixer / disperser such as a bead mill, homomixer, disperser, attritor, ball mill, sand grinder, or the like.

[0036] The aqueous liquid cosmetic composition of the present disclosure configured as described above can be suitably used by being contained in an applicator having an application part composed of a brush tip (tip). Note that applicators with an application part made of fibers solidified with resin or the like, or a so-called pen core-type application part made of fused fibers, can slide the plate-like pigment onto the application surface upon application, but scrape off the application liquid, resulting in a reduced effect of increasing the sense of brilliance and inferior applicability. An example of an applicator that can be used is the applicator shown in Figure 1, which contains the aqueous liquid cosmetic composition configured as described above. A liquid cosmetic applicator loaded with the aqueous liquid cosmetic composition of the present disclosure may be, for example, a collector-type applicator having a front barrel 210 and a barrel body 214 in which a rear barrel body 212 of the front barrel 210 fits together, as shown in FIG. 1( a), and having a comb-like collector 216 with multiple leaf portions arranged in the axial direction disposed at the front of the barrel 214, as shown in FIG. 1( b), in which the liquid cosmetic composition described above is stored in a storage space 214 a at the rear of the barrel 214.

[0037] Barrel body 212 at the rear of shaft body 214 is formed like a pipe with an interior that is connected and open at the front and rear. Tail plug 214b is fitted into the rear of barrel body 212, which also serves as the rear of the shaft, to close the rear of barrel body 212, and the space within shaft body 214 (which is also the space within barrel body 212) sandwiched between the front end of tail plug 214b and the rear end of collector 216 forms storage space 214a. The coating liquid is directly stored within storage space 214a without any impregnated body such as batting, and a stirring body (such as a ball) 214c is also provided for stirring the coating liquid.

[0038] Tip barrel 210, barrel body 212, collector 216, cap, etc. may be molded from resin. Agitator 214c may be made of a ball material such as metal or resin. Collector 216 is covered and held by tip barrel 210 and barrel body 212. Application portion 218, which is a tapered brush-like brush, protrudes from the opening at the front end of tip barrel 210, and a cap covering application portion 218 is removably fitted onto tip barrel 210. Tip barrel 210 is tapered to a substantially conical side surface, and has air replacement holes 210c at predetermined intervals on its circumferential surface. It is desirable that the tip angle of tip barrel 210 be approximately the same as the tip angle of application portion 218.

[0039] Applicator part 218 is a tapered brush body (tip) made of resin fibers, natural fiber bundles, and porous resin material. Applicator part 218 has a flange-like expanded diameter at the rear end, and this expanded diameter part engages with front barrel 210 to prevent it from coming off.

[0040] Inside the hollow, tapered front barrel 210, a bellows-shaped collector 216 is disposed behind the application portion 218, with a core 222 penetrating the hollow portion of this collector 216. The core 222 can be composed of a capillary material such as a resin fiber bundle, a natural fiber bundle, or a porous resin body. The core 222 does not protrude from the rear end of the collector 216 into the housing space 214a of the shaft 214 (see FIG. 1(b)). The rear end face of the core 222 is substantially flush with the rear end face of the collector 216. By aligning the core 222, the rear end of the core 222 does not protrude into the housing space 214a, ensuring the volume of the housing space 214a. Furthermore, since the rear end of the core 222 does not protrude into the storage space 214a, when the agitator 214c is provided in the storage space 214a, even if the agitator 214c moves within the storage space 214a, it will not collide with the core 222 and will not deform the core 222, allowing the coating liquid to penetrate sufficiently.

[0041] The liquid cosmetic applicator of the above-described form has been described as an example of a liquid cosmetic applicator for liquid eyeliner or liquid eyeshadow, which are water-based liquid cosmetics of the present disclosure, but the present disclosure is not limited to this and the present disclosure can also be applied to an eyebrow applicator for drawing lines on eyebrows or for drawing lines on the skin. Furthermore, although the liquid pressing mechanism of the liquid cosmetic applicator of the above-described form is a rotary-type applicator shown in Figure 1, a knock-type liquid cosmetic applicator may also be used.

[0042] Even though the aqueous liquid cosmetic composition of the present disclosure configured in this manner is a liquid cosmetic composition containing a small amount of lustrous plate-like pigment, when it is mounted on an applicator having an application part, such as a brush, and applied to a surface to be applied, such as the skin, it becomes an aqueous liquid cosmetic that enables the drawing of lines with a consistent hue and brightness over time. This is presumably due to the following effects and advantages. According to the present disclosure, it is presumed that by preparing an aqueous liquid cosmetic that is to be mounted on an applicator having an application part composed of a brush, comprising at least (a) 0.01 to 10 mass % of a plate-like pigment whose surface is coated with a compound selected from Group A above, (b) at least one chromatic pigment having an average particle size of 0.01 to 1 μm as measured by dynamic light scattering, (c) 1 to 20 mass % in terms of solids content of an acrylic copolymer, and (d) water, the aqueous liquid cosmetic can be mounted on an applicator having an application part composed of a brush. This prevents the chromatic pigment particles having an average particle size of 0.01 to 1 μm from getting into the plate-like pigment when the plate-like pigment settles, thereby preventing the formation of hard cakes. Furthermore, by suppressing the settling of the plate-like pigment, which exhibits brilliance, it is possible to suppress the deterioration of hue differences and brightness that occur over time, and thus obtain an aqueous liquid cosmetic that is suitable for applicators such as direct-flow eyeliners, eyeshadows, and eyebrow liner for drawing eyebrow lines, which enable the drawing of lines that remain consistent in hue and brightness over time. Therefore, since the aqueous liquid cosmetic preparation of the present disclosure has the above-mentioned effects, it can be suitably used for eye makeup such as eyeliner.

[0043] The present disclosure will be described in more detail below with reference to examples and comparative examples. However, the present disclosure is not limited to the following examples.

[0044] [Examples 1 to 8, Comparative Examples 1 to 8] Each aqueous liquid cosmetic was prepared by mixing and dispersing using a homomixer or disperser according to the formulation shown in Table 1 below. The aqueous liquid cosmetic compositions of Examples 1 to 8 and Comparative Examples 1 to 8 obtained above were evaluated for viscosity at 25°C, brilliance, brilliance difference, hue difference, hiding power, and adhesion using the measurement and evaluation methods described below. The pH of each of these aqueous liquid cosmetic compositions was in the range of 6.5 to 8.5. The results are shown in Table 1 below.

[0045] [Method of measuring viscosity] Each of the obtained aqueous liquid cosmetics was measured at a temperature of 25°C using a cone-plate type viscometer (TV-30 type viscometer, ELD type viscometer, standard cone plate, manufactured by Tokimec Co., Ltd.) at a predetermined shear rate (191.5 S -1 The viscosity at 1000 kJ / min was measured.

[0046] [Methods for evaluating brightness, brightness difference, hue difference, hiding power, and adhesion] Each applicator was prepared by combining an aqueous liquid cosmetic composition shown in Table 1 below with each applicator having a tip and pen core shown in Figures 1 and 2, respectively, and evaluated for brightness, brightness difference, hue difference, hiding power, and adhesion. The tip used in each example in Figure 1 is a tapered brush body (tip) made of a bundle of polybutylene terephthalate resin fibers with a diameter of 0.05 to 0.3 mm. The pen core used in the comparative example in Figure 2 is obtained by extrusion molding or other processes of polyacetal resin (POM). 2(a) and (b), the pen core 10 is made of POM with an outer diameter of 3.0 mm and has an ink passage 11 formed of an internal groove with a radial cross section that is continuously formed in the axial direction, and the entire pen core is cut into a roughly bullet shape, with the application part 12 at the tip being shaped like a jet cone. Furthermore, an aqueous liquid cosmetic having one of the formulations in Table 1 below is attached to an applicator body (not shown) equipped with a valve mechanism, and holes (not shown) for introducing the cosmetic passage within the applicator body are formed in the rear end 10a of the pen core and on the side surface 10b of the pen core, so that the liquid cosmetic is applied from the application part during application. Using each of the applicators filled with the aqueous liquid cosmetics of the Examples and Comparative Examples having these tip necks and pen cores, sensory evaluations of brightness, brightness difference, hue difference, hiding power, and adhesion were carried out using the evaluation methods described below.

[0047] [Method for evaluating brightness] Each applicator was used to apply the product to the skin, and the product was visually observed and evaluated for brightness using the following evaluation criteria. Evaluation criteria: A: High brightness. B: Bright. C: Low brightness. D: Almost no brightness.

[0048] [Method for evaluating brightness difference] Each applicator was used and left to stand for a certain period of time (24 hours) facing up or down, then applied to the skin, and visually observed and evaluated for brightness difference using the following evaluation criteria. Evaluation criteria: A: Brightness is consistent. B: Brightness is almost consistent. C: Brightness is reduced. D: Brightness is lost.

[0049] [Method for evaluating hue difference] Each applicator was used to apply the product to the skin, and the product was visually observed and evaluated for hue difference using the following evaluation criteria. Evaluation criteria: A: No change in hue. B: The hue is almost constant. C: There is a slight change in hue. D: There is a change in hue.

[0050] [Method for evaluating hiding power] Each applicator was used to apply the product to the skin, and the product was visually observed and evaluated for its ability to hide the skin color using the following evaluation criteria. Evaluation criteria: A: Skin color is completely hidden. B: Skin color is slightly visible. C: Skin color is visible. D: Skin color is not hidden at all.

[0051] [Method for evaluating adhesion] Each applicator was used to apply the product to the edge of the eye, and after 4 hours, the product was visually observed and evaluated for adhesion using the following evaluation criteria. Evaluation criteria for adhesion: A: The brightness and color of the drawn line are almost the same as when it was initially drawn. B: The brightness and color of the drawn line are almost the same as when it was initially drawn. C: The brightness and color are significantly lower than when it was initially drawn. D: Almost no drawn line remains.
