[0029] Various embodiments of the present disclosure are described below with reference to the attached drawings.
[0030] FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 are diagrams illustrating the operation of a wireless transmission device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 1 illustrates a case where image data is transmitted from a wireless transmission device to one display device, and FIG. 2 illustrates a case where image data is transmitted from a wireless transmission device to multiple display devices.
[0031] According to FIG. 1, a wireless transmission device (100) is connected to an external device (10) and a display device (200). The wireless transmission device (100) is configured to wirelessly communicate with the display device (200) and transmit various data and signals.
[0032] The wireless transmission device (100) may include multiple ports to which various cables, such as a power cable, an optical cable, an HDMI cable, an RF cable, and a LAN cable, can be connected. However, the present invention is not limited thereto. The wireless transmission device (100) may be connected to various external devices (10) through each port.
[0033] The external device (10) is configured to include or provide various contents. For example, the external device (10) may be implemented in various ways, such as a broadcasting station server, a PC, a laptop PC, a smartphone, a tablet PC, a set-top box, a cable broadcasting server, a media player, a game console, etc. However, the present invention is not limited thereto. The external device (10) may alternatively be referred to as a content source. Some of the external devices (10) may also provide analog contents.
[0034] The wireless transmission device (100) can be connected to an external device (10) via a wire or wirelessly. The wireless transmission device (100) can select one external device (10) according to a user's selection or control of the display device (200), receive content provided by the external device (10), and wirelessly transmit the content to the display device (200).
[0035] When using a wireless transmission device (100), the display device (200) can receive content from various external sources through the wireless transmission device (100) even without directly connecting the external sources to the display device (200) through multiple connection lines.
[0036] The wireless transmission device (100) may alternatively be referred to as a One-Connect box, a One-Connect device, a source integration device, a source connection device, etc. Furthermore, it may be implemented to be connected to a display device (200) or other device via a single wired cable rather than wirelessly. However, the present disclosure is not limited thereto. For example, the present disclosure describes a wireless transmission device (100) that is connected to a display device (200) wirelessly.
[0037] When an external device providing analog content is selected, or analog content is selected for an external device capable of providing various contents such as digital and analog content, the wireless transmission device (100) can receive analog content from the external device (10). The analog content can include various analog data such as analog audio data, analog video data, and analog additional data.
[0038] Analog additional data may include user data that is used to assist the user in viewing images or to provide various information to the user when analog audio data and analog video data are displayed through the display device (200).
[0039] The additional data may include at least one of WSS (Wide Screen Signaling) data, TTX (Teletext) data, subtitle data such as subtitles for the hearing impaired, foreign language subtitle data, and screen ratio setting data of the display device.
[0040] Wide Screen Signaling (WSS) is digital metadata embedded in the invisible portion of an analog TV signal to indicate the aspect ratio of an image, etc. Here, the aspect ratio indicates the ratio of the width and height of the image, and is expressed as two numbers separated by a colon, such as 16:9. When the aspect ratio is expressed as x:y, x represents the width of the image, and y represents the height of the image. For example, when a television (TV) broadcaster transmits an image in two formats, 4:3 and 16:9, the television set can optimize the transmitted image by displaying it in full screen, letterbox, widescreen, zoom letterbox, etc. In one embodiment, aspect ratios of 1.85:1 and 2.4:1 are commonly used in movie theaters, and aspect ratios of 4:3 and 16:9 are commonly used on video screens.
[0041] Teletext (TTX) is an information service provided by television broadcasters, first developed in the United Kingdom in the 1970s. Teletext can provide a variety of text-based information, including news, weather, TV schedules, and subtitles, but is not limited to these. Major broadcasters in each country offer their own TTX services, and they also provide advertising, such as travel information. In addition to regularly updated current news and sports news, Teletext can also provide quizzes, simple games, subtitles for the hearing impaired, and foreign language subtitles. Unlike web services, which slow down with the number of users, Teletext has the advantage of not slowing down as the number of users increases.
[0042] A Vertical Blanking Interval (VBI) can be used to transmit analog data. VBI can represent the time it takes for a scanning line to finish scanning at the bottom of the screen, reach the end, and then return to the top starting point of the screen to find the next screen field when displaying an image on a display device (200) such as a TV. Since data transmitted during the VBI period is not displayed on the screen of the display device (200), additional data can be transmitted during the VBI period. However, since the VBI period is relatively short, it may be difficult to transmit a large amount of additional data. Furthermore, since the additional data is transmitted through the VBI period regardless of the receiving device's circumstances, there may be a burden on all receiving devices to process the additional data.
[0043] Accordingly, the wireless transmission device (100) according to various embodiments of the present disclosure can decode analog data received from an external device (10), convert it into digital data, and wirelessly transmit it to at least one display device (200).
[0044] When a plurality of display devices (e.g., a first display device (201) to an n-th display device (20n), where n is a positive integer greater than 0) are connected to a wireless transmission device (100) as shown in FIG. 2, the wireless transmission device (100) can convert received analog data into digital data and wirelessly transmit the digital data to the plurality of display devices (201 to 20n).
[0045] In this case, the wireless transmission device (100) can selectively wirelessly transmit signal-processed data to each of the plurality of display devices (201 to 20n) according to the communication connection status with each of the plurality of display devices (201 to 20n) and a user input signal. Here, the communication connection status may be information indicating whether the communication connection is established or disconnected, but is not necessarily limited thereto, and may also be information including MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) information or RTT (Round Trip Time) information determined between the wireless transmission device (100) and the plurality of display devices (201 to 20n). The MTU information indicates the maximum size of data that can be transmitted at one time between the plurality of devices. The MTU information may be determined according to the communication performance of the device, the characteristics of the network connecting the device, etc. The RTT (Round Trip Time) information may be information on the time it takes to transmit data between devices and receive a response thereto.
[0046] The wireless transmission device (100) may differently configure digital data corresponding to analog data based on these various pieces of information.
[0047] The method by which the wireless transmission device (100) selectively wirelessly transmits signal-processed data to each display device (201 to 20n) will be described again in the following section. As described above, the wireless transmission device (100) can be wirelessly connected to multiple display devices, but for convenience of explanation, the following description will be based on the case where it is connected to one display device (200).
[0048] FIG. 3 is a block diagram showing the configuration of a wireless transmission device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0049] According to FIG. 3, the wireless transmission device (100) includes a communication unit (110), a memory (120), a signal processing unit (130), and a processor (140).
[0050] The communication unit (110) is configured to perform communication with an external device (10) and at least one display device (200). The communication unit (110) can receive analog data from the external device (10). In addition, the communication unit (110) can transmit a digital transmission stream to at least one display device (200) under the control of the processor (140). In addition, the communication unit (110) can also receive a user input signal from the display device (200).
[0051] The communication unit (110) may include at least one of a short-range communication module or a long-range communication module. The communication unit (110) may support the establishment of a direct (e.g., wired) communication channel or a wireless communication channel with an external device (10) or at least one display device (200), and the performance of communication through the established communication channel.
[0052] According to one embodiment, the communication unit (110) may include a wireless communication module (e.g., a cellular communication module, a short-range wireless communication module, or a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) communication module) or a wired communication module (e.g., a local area network (LAN) communication module, or a power line communication module). The communication unit (110) may communicate with an external device (10) or at least one display device (200) via a first network (e.g., a short-range communication network such as Bluetooth, wireless fidelity (WiFi) direct, or infrared data association (IrDA)) or a second network (e.g., a long-range communication network such as a legacy cellular network, a 5G network, a next-generation communication network, the Internet, or a computer network (e.g., a LAN or WAN)). The communication unit (110) including these various types of communication modules may be integrated into one component (e.g., a single chip) or implemented as multiple separate components (e.g., multiple chips).
[0053] The short-range wireless communication module may include a Bluetooth communication module, a BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) communication module, a near field communication module, a WLAN (Wi-Fi) communication module, a Zigbee communication module, an IrDA (infrared Data Association) communication module, a WFD (Wi-Fi Direct) communication module, an UWB (ultrawideband) communication module, an Ant+ communication module, a microwave (uWave) communication module, etc. The present disclosure is not limited thereto, and the communication unit (110) may include an additional communication module that supports an additional communication protocol as long as it does not depart from the scope of the present disclosure.
[0054] The remote communication module may include a communication module configured to perform various types of remote communication and may include a mobile communication unit. The mobile communication unit may transmit and receive wireless signals with at least one of a base station, an external terminal, and a server on a mobile communication network.
[0055] The memory (120) can store at least one command, data, program, etc. required for the operation of the wireless transmission device (100). For example, the memory (120) can store analog data received from an external device (10). The memory (120) may be implemented in the form of a memory embedded in the wireless transmission device (100) or in the form of a memory detachable from the wireless transmission device (100) depending on the purpose of data storage. For example, data for operating the wireless transmission device (100) may be stored in a memory embedded in the wireless transmission device (100), and data for expanding the function of the wireless transmission device (100) may be stored in a memory detachable from the wireless transmission device (100).
[0056] In the case of the memory embedded in the wireless transmission device (100), it may be implemented as at least one of volatile memory (e.g., dynamic RAM (DRAM), static RAM (SRAM), or synchronous dynamic RAM (SDRAM)), non-volatile memory (e.g., one time programmable ROM (OTPROM), programmable ROM (PROM), erasable and programmable ROM (EPROM), electrically erasable and programmable ROM (EEPROM), mask ROM, flash ROM, flash memory (e.g., NAND flash or NOR flash), hard drive, or solid state drive (SSD)).
[0057] The memory (120) may be implemented as a single memory that stores data generated in various operations according to the present disclosure, but is not limited thereto, and the memory (120) may be implemented to include multiple memories that each store different types of data or each store data generated in different stages.
[0058] The signal processing unit (130) may be configured to process analog data received from an external device (10) and convert it into a digital transmission stream. The signal processing unit (130) may decode the analog data and separate it into analog audio data, analog video data, and analog additional data. The signal processing unit (130) according to the present disclosure may include an analog to digital converter (ADC), a multiplexer (MUX), a demultiplexer, a decoder, and the like.
[0059] An ADC can refer to a device that converts analog data into digital data. For example, an ADC can convert analog data into digital audio data, digital video data, and digital additional data. To digitize analog data in an ADC, it goes through the processes of sampling, quantization, and encoding. Each of these processes can be performed by various hardware, such as a sampler, quantizer, or encoder. Sampling refers to converting continuous analog data into discrete digital values along the time axis. According to Shannon's sampling theorem, when a signal with a limited frequency band is sampled at a rate at least twice the maximum frequency, the original analog data can be reconstructed from the sampled data. For example, to digitize a frequency band of 10 to 2000 Hz, sampling may need to be performed at a rate of 4000 Hz or higher.
[0060] Quantization can refer to the process of converting data sampled along the time axis into digital values in a discrete form along the amplitude axis. Quantization divides the sampled data into preset quantization levels along the amplitude axis, and assigns a unique value to each level. For example, if the unit of value that can be expressed in quantization is 8 bits, the quantization level can be divided into 256 intervals, and if it is 10 bits, the quantization level can be divided into 1024 quantization levels. In this case, since the amplitude axis can be divided into more intervals in the case of 10 bits than in the case of 8 bits, more precise expression is possible.
[0061] Encoding can refer to converting data into binary through sampling and quantization.
[0062] A multiplexer can perform multiplexing by adding a predetermined synchronization signal to converted digital data. For example, the multiplexer can multiplex converted digital audio data, digital video data, and digital additional data to form a digital transport stream (TS). That is, the multiplexer can perform packetization of the digital data by multiplexing header data to payload data. According to the present disclosure, packetization refers to compressing payload data by adding header data to it. In this case, the payload data can include at least one of digital audio data, digital video data, and digital additional data. In addition, the header data can include data regarding the address of the wireless transmission device (100) and the address of the display device (200).
[0063] The processor (140) may be a component connected to each component of the wireless transmission device (100) to control the overall operation of the wireless transmission device (100). The processor (140) may be implemented as a digital signal processor (DSP), a microprocessor, a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), an AI (Artificial Intelligence) processor, an NPU (Neural Processing Unit), etc. However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and may include one or more of a central processing unit (CPU), a MCU (Micro Controller Unit), an MPU (micro processing unit), a controller, an application processor (AP), a communication processor (CP), an ARM processor, or may be defined by the relevant terminology. In addition, the processor (140) may be implemented as a SoC (System on Chip), an LSI (Large Scale Integration) having a built-in processing algorithm, or may be implemented in the form of an ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit), an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array).
[0064] In addition, a processor (140) for executing an artificial intelligence model according to an embodiment may be implemented through a combination of a general-purpose processor such as a CPU, an AP, a DSP (Digital Signal Processor), a graphics-only processor such as a GPU, a VPU (Vision Processing Unit), or an artificial intelligence-only processor such as an NPU, and software.
[0065] The processor (140) can be controlled to process input data according to predefined operating rules or artificial intelligence models stored in the memory (120). Alternatively, if the processor (140) is a dedicated processor (or an artificial intelligence-dedicated processor), it can be designed with a hardware structure specialized for processing a specific artificial intelligence model. For example, hardware specialized for processing a specific artificial intelligence model can be designed as a hardware chip such as an ASIC or an FPGA.
[0066] When the processor (140) is implemented as a dedicated processor, it may be implemented to include a memory for implementing the embodiments of the present disclosure, or it may be implemented to include a memory processing function for utilizing external memory. The processor (140) may be implemented as one or more processors.
[0067] When analog data is received from an external device (10) through a communication unit (110), the processor (140) can store the received analog data in the memory (120). The processor (140) controls the signal processing unit (130) to decode the analog data and separate it into analog audio data, analog video data, and analog additional data. The processor (140) controls the signal processing unit (130) to digitally convert the separated analog audio data, analog video data, and analog additional data into digital audio data, digital video data, and digital additional data, respectively. The processor (140) controls the signal processing unit (130) to separately packetize the converted digital audio data, digital video data, and digital additional data to form a digital transmission stream including a plurality of packets. The processor (140) controls the communication unit (110) to transmit the digital transmission stream to at least one display device (200).
[0068] FIG. 4 is a diagram illustrating the operation of a wireless transmission device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0069] According to FIG. 4, when analog data is received from an external device (10), the processor (140) decodes the received analog data to separate it into analog audio data, analog video data, and analog additional data, and controls the signal processing unit (130) to digitally convert the separated analog audio data, analog video data, and analog additional data into digital audio data, digital video data, and digital additional data. In addition, the processor (140) packetizes the digital audio data, digital video data, and digital additional data into separate Packetized Elementary Streams (PESs), and controls the signal processing unit (130) to configure a digital transport stream (TS) including a plurality of packetized PESs (e.g., a first PES (PES0), a second PES (PES1), and a third PES (PES2)).
[0070] For example, as shown in FIG. 4, the processor (140) can control the signal processing unit (130) to packetize digital video data into a first PES (PES0), digital audio data into a second PES (PES1), and digital additional data into a third PES (PES2). In addition, the processor (140) can control the signal processing unit (130) to include three PESs, namely, packetized PES0, PES1, and PES2, within a transport stream (TS). The arrangement order of packets corresponding to each data can be varied in various ways.
[0071] In this case, if the digital additional data is composed of multiple types of additional data, the processor (140) can packetize the multiple additional data by separating them into different PESs. For example, if the digital additional data is composed of WSS, TTX, and subtitle data, the processor (140) can control the signal processing unit (130) to packetize digital video data into a first PES (PES0), digital audio data into a second PES (PES1), WSS into a third PES (PES2), TTX into a fourth PES (PES3), and subtitle data into a fifth PES (PES4). In addition, the processor (140) can control the signal processing unit (130) to configure a digital transport stream (TS) including packetized PES0, PES1, PES2, PES3, and PES4.
[0072] The processor (140) can control the communication unit (110) to provide guidance information on additional data that can be provided to at least one display device (200). The guidance information can include a list of additional data that can be provided to the display device (200) from the wireless transmission device (100) and related information.
[0073] The processor (140) may receive a selection signal for receiving at least one of a plurality of additional data from at least one display device (200) through the communication unit (110). In this case, the analog additional data may include a plurality of different types of additional data. When the selection signal is received from at least one display device (200) through the communication unit (110), the processor (140) may select additional data to be transmitted to at least one display device (200) based on the received selection signal. The processor (140) may control the signal processing unit (130) to packetize each selected additional data into digital additional data and include it in a digital transmission stream.
[0074] For example, if a wireless transmission device (100) is connected to a plurality of display devices (e.g., a first display device (201), a second display device (202)), and additional data that can be provided by the wireless transmission device (100) is composed of WSS, subtitle data, foreign language subtitle data, TV program schedule, travel information, and news data, the processor (140) can receive a selection signal for WSS and foreign language subtitle data from the first display device (201) through the communication unit (110), and can receive a selection signal for WSS, subtitle data for the hearing impaired, and TV program schedule from the second display device (202).
[0075] In this case, the processor (140) can control the signal processing unit (130) to select WSS and foreign language subtitle data from among the additional data that can be provided by the wireless transmission device (100), packetize the selected additional data into digital additional data, and include them in the first digital transmission stream. The processor (140) can control the signal processing unit (130) to select WSS, subtitle data for the hearing impaired, and TV program schedule data from among the additional data that can be provided by the wireless transmission device (100), packetize the selected additional data into digital additional data, and include them in the second digital transmission stream. The processor (140) can transmit the first digital transmission stream to the first display device (201) and transmit the second digital transmission stream to the second display device (202) via the communication unit (110), respectively.
[0076] If, among the multiple display devices connected to the wireless transmission device (100), there is a display device that does not transmit a selection signal, the processor (140) can control the signal processing unit (130) to configure a digital transmission stream by packetizing only digital audio data and digital video data. Alternatively, if data for a preset default selection signal is stored in the memory (120), the processor (140) can control the signal processing unit (130) to select additional data based on the default selection signal, packetize the selected default additional data into digital additional data, and include it in the digital transmission stream.
[0077] In this way, the wireless transmission device (100) can selectively packetize additional data into digital additional data based on a selection signal transmitted from each display device (200) to configure a digital transmission stream, and transmit each configured digital transmission stream to each display device (200).
[0078] The processor (140) may group the display devices (200) that are connected to the communication unit (110) according to the display devices that transmitted the same selection signal, based on the selection signal, when the plurality of display devices (200) are connected and each of the plurality of display devices (200) transmits a selection signal. In this case, the processor (140) may compare and analyze the selection signals received from the plurality of display devices (200) and classify the plurality of display devices (200) by grouping them according to the display devices that transmitted the same selection signal. The processor (140) may control the signal processing unit (130) to configure a plurality of digital transmission streams including different additional data for each classified group. The processor (140) may control the communication unit (110) to transmit the plurality of digital transmission streams according to each classified group. In this case, the display devices that belong to the same group may receive the same digital transmission stream.
[0079] Accordingly, the wireless transmission device (100) does not need to configure digital transmission streams as many times as the number of display devices (200) connected to the wireless transmission device (100), but only needs to configure digital transmission streams as many times as the number of groups of classified display devices, thereby reducing consumption of resources such as memory (120) and processor (140).
[0080] FIG. 5 is a block diagram showing the configuration of a display device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0081] According to FIG. 5, the display device (200) may include a communication unit (210), a memory (220), a signal processing unit (230), a display (240), and a processor (250). Referring to FIG. 3, the display device (200) may include the configuration of the wireless transmission device (100) described above, or may include a configuration similar to it in many respects, and may include additional functions not mentioned in FIG. 3. Consequently, any redundant description of the display device (200) among the configurations described above with reference to FIG. 3 may be omitted for the sake of brevity.
[0082] The communication unit (210) may be configured to perform communication with the wireless transmission device (100). The communication unit (210) transmits a selection signal for receiving at least one of a plurality of additional data to the wireless transmission device (100) and receives a digital transmission stream from the wireless transmission device (100). The digital transmission stream may include at least one of digital audio data, digital video data, and digital additional data. Here, the digital additional data may include at least one of Wide Screen Signaling (WSS) data, Teletext (TTX) data, subtitle data such as subtitles for the hearing impaired, foreign language subtitle data, and screen ratio setting data of a display device.
[0083] The memory (220) can store at least one command, data, program, etc. required for the operation of the display device (200). The memory (220) can store a digital transmission stream transmitted from the wireless transmission device (100).
[0084] The signal processing unit (230) can process the digital transmission stream transmitted from the wireless transmission device (100) to obtain a video signal, an audio signal, and additional information. For example, the signal processing unit (230) can process the digital transmission stream to extract header data and payload data. In this case, the payload data can include at least one of digital audio data, digital video data, and digital additional data.
[0085] The display (240) may be configured to display a video signal and additional information. The display (240) may be implemented as a display including a self-luminous element or a display including a non-luminous element and a backlight. For example, the display (240) may be implemented as various types of displays such as an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display), an OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) display, an LED (Light Emitting Diodes), a micro LED, a Mini LED, a PDP (Plasma Display Panel), a QD (Quantum dot) display, a QLED (Quantum dot light-emitting diodes), etc.
[0086] The processor (250) may be or include a configuration for controlling the overall operation of the display device (200) by being connected to each component of the display device (200). The processor (250) may transmit a selection signal for selecting at least one of the additional data included in the analog content provided by an external device (10) connected to the wireless transmission device (100) to the wireless transmission device (100) through the communication unit (210).
[0087] When a digital transmission stream corresponding to analog content including selected additional data is received from a wireless transmission device (100) through a communication unit (210), the processor (250) stores the received digital transmission stream in a memory (220). The processor (250) controls the signal processing unit (230) to obtain digital audio data, digital video data, and digital additional data from the digital transmission stream, and to decode each of the obtained data to obtain a video signal, an audio signal, and additional information. The video signal may include a plurality of image frames that can be displayed on a display (240).
[0088] The processor (250) controls the display (240) to output at least a portion of the additional information along with the video signal based on a user input. If the additional information is subtitle data, the processor (250) can control the display (240) to synchronize the output timing of the image frame included in the video signal and the subtitle information and output them.
[0089] The processor (250) can control the communication unit (210) to transmit a selection signal to the wireless transmission device (100) to select whether to receive each additional data. For example, when the display device (200) transmits a selection signal to the wireless transmission device (100) to receive a plurality of additional data that can be provided from the wireless transmission device (100), the wireless transmission device (100) can transmit a digital transmission stream including the additional data selected based on the selection signal to the display device (200). The transmitted digital transmission stream can include a plurality of additional data selected by the selection signal.
[0090] The processor (250) can control the signal processing unit (230) to decode the digital transmission stream to obtain a video signal, an audio signal, and additional information. In this case, the additional information may be a plurality of additional data decoded. When a user input for displaying and selecting the additional information is input, the processor (250) can control the display (240) to output the additional information selected by the user input from among the additional information together with the video signal. In this case, the processor (250) can control the display (240) to output some of the additional information selected by the user input together with the video signal, rather than outputting all of the additional information corresponding to the plurality of received additional data to the display (240).
[0091] When guidance information regarding additional data that can be provided from the wireless transmission device (100) is received through the communication unit (210), the processor (250) can control the display (240) to display the guidance information. The user can check the guidance information and select the desired additional data. When at least one additional data is selected based on the guidance information, the processor (250) can control the communication unit (210) to transmit a selection signal for at least one additional data to the wireless transmission device (100).
[0092] According to the present disclosure, the display device (200) can receive user input through the communication unit (210) or various interfaces. For example, the user can input a user input or selection signal to the display device (200) using a remote control, a mobile phone or a tablet PC having a remote control application installed thereon, or a similar device. The device can transmit the user input or selection signal to the communication unit (210) using a wireless communication network such as IR (Infrared), Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, RF (Radio Frequency), Wireless LAN, NFC (Near Field Communication), RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), Zig-bee, or the like, but is not limited thereto. For example, the communication unit (210) can include an IR signal receiving module for receiving an IR signal from the device.
[0093] Here, IR (Infrared) can refer to signal transmission using electromagnetic waves with a wavelength range of approximately 700 nm (nanometers) to approximately 1 mm. Because IR has a wide wavelength range, it can be used for various purposes, such as infrared detectors, distance measurement, infrared surveillance devices, and infrared sensors, in addition to signal transmission and reception. For example, in optical communication networks, infrared signals with a wavelength range of approximately 1.530 to approximately 1.565 um (micrometers) can be used.
[0094] The display device (200) may also receive user input by using various buttons, a touch screen, or other interfaces provided on the main body of the display device (200). The user may input a selection signal for transmission to the wireless transmission device (100) or a user input for displaying additional information by using various buttons, a touch screen, or other interfaces provided on the main body of the display device (200).
[0095] According to the present disclosure, the display device (200) may further include a speaker. The processor (250) controls the signal processing unit (230) to obtain a video signal, an audio signal, and additional information, and the obtained video signal and additional information may be output through the display (240), and the audio signal may be output through the speaker. If the display device (200) is equipped with a speaker, various components such as an audio decoder, an audio output mixer, an audio signal processor, and an amplifier circuit for processing an audio signal may be further included in the display device (200). The speaker may be configured as one or more, and when implemented with multiple speakers, audio information may be output in all directions, that is, in almost all directions of 360 degrees, by being arranged symmetrically on the exterior of the main body.
[0096] FIG. 6 and FIG. 7 are flowcharts illustrating a data transmission method of a wireless transmission device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0097] According to FIG. 6, a wireless transmission device receives analog data from an external device (S610). Here, the analog data may include at least one of analog audio data, analog video data, and analog additional data. In addition, the analog additional data may include at least one of Wide Screen Signaling (WSS), Teletext (TTX), subtitle data for the hearing impaired, foreign language subtitle data, and screen ratio setting data for a display device.
[0098] The wireless transmission device acquires analog audio data, analog video data, and analog additional data from the received analog data (S620). Furthermore, the wireless transmission device digitizes the analog audio data, analog video data, and analog additional data, respectively, and converts them into digital audio data, digital video data, and digital additional data (S630). In this case, the wireless transmission device may also provide guidance information regarding additional data that can be provided to at least one display device. The guidance information may include a list of additional data that can be provided to the display device from the wireless transmission device and related information.
[0099] The wireless transmission device separately packetizes the converted digital audio data, digital video data, and digital additional data, thereby forming a digital transmission stream comprising multiple packets (S640). In this case, if the digital additional data includes multiple types of additional data, each additional data can be separately packetized.
[0100] A wireless transmission device transmits a digital transmission stream to at least one display device (S650). In this case, the digital transmission stream transmitted from the wireless transmission device to each display device may be different for each display device. The digital transmission stream transmitted from the wireless transmission device to each display device includes the same digital audio data and digital video data, but the digital additional data included in the digital transmission stream may vary for each display device. The digital additional data is further explained in detail with reference to Figure 7 below.
[0101] FIG. 7 illustrates a method for constructing a digital transmission stream including a plurality of packets based on a selection signal of a display device when analog additional data includes a plurality of different types of additional data.
[0102] According to FIG. 7, when analog additional data includes multiple types of additional data, the wireless transmission device can receive a selection signal for receiving at least one of the multiple types of additional data from at least one display device (S710). For example, when there are multiple types of additional data that can be provided to the display device from the wireless transmission device, the wireless transmission device does not need to transmit all of the additional data that can be provided to all of the display devices. Since each display device requires different types of additional data, the wireless transmission device can receive a selection signal for selectively receiving one of the multiple types of additional data from each display device.
[0103] When a selection signal is received from at least one display device, the wireless transmission device can select additional data to be transmitted to at least one display device based on the received selection signal (S720). The additional data to be transmitted to each display device varies depending on the received selection signal. For example, if the additional data that can be provided by the wireless transmission device consists of WSS, subtitle data, foreign language subtitle data, TV program schedule, travel information, and news data, there may be a display device that wants to receive only WSS and foreign language subtitle data, and there may be a display device that requests reception of WSS, subtitle data for the hearing impaired, and TV program schedule. Alternatively, the display device may not request reception of any additional data, or may request reception of all additional data. In this way, the wireless transmission device can select additional data corresponding to each display device based on different selection signals for each display device.
[0104] The wireless transmission device can packetize each selected additional data into digital additional data and include it in a digital transmission stream (S730). In this case, the wireless transmission device can group display devices based on the received selection signal, based on the display devices that transmitted the same selection signal. In addition, the wireless transmission device can configure multiple digital transmission streams including different additional data for each group. The wireless transmission device can transmit the multiple digital transmission streams for each classified group. In this case, display devices belonging to the same group can receive the same digital transmission stream.
[0105] FIG. 8 and FIG. 9 are flowcharts illustrating a method for processing a transmission stream of a display device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0106] According to FIG. 8, the display device transmits a selection signal for selecting at least one of the additional data included in the analog content to the wireless transmission device (S810).
[0107] The display device receives a digital transmission stream corresponding to the analog content containing the selected additional data from the wireless transmission device (S820). In this case, the digital transmission stream may include at least one of digital audio data, digital video data, and digital additional data.
[0108] The display device depackets the received digital transmission stream to obtain digital audio data, digital video data, and digital additional data (S830). Here, the digital additional data may include at least one of Wide Screen Signaling (WSS), Teletext (TTX), subtitle data for the hearing impaired, foreign language subtitle data, and screen ratio setting data for the display device.
[0109] The display device decodes the acquired digital audio data, digital video data, and digital additional data, respectively, to acquire a video signal, an audio signal, and additional information (S840). In this case, the display device can convert the separated digital audio data, digital video data, and digital additional data into a video signal, an audio signal, and additional information for output through a display or speaker, etc. by signal processing.
[0110] A display device outputs at least a portion of additional information along with a video signal based on a user input (S850). For example, when the additional information that can be output along with a video signal on a display device includes a lot of user information such as Wide Screen Signaling (WSS), Teletext (TTX), caption data for the hearing impaired, and foreign language caption data, the user may not use all of the additional information. In this case, the display device can receive user input for whether to display and select the additional information. When a user input is input, the display device can output the additional information selected by the user input along with the video signal.
[0111] FIG. 9 illustrates a method for a display device to transmit a selection signal to receive additional data available from a wireless transmission device.
[0112] The display device can receive guidance information regarding additional data that can be provided from the wireless transmission device (S910). The guidance information can include a list of additional data that can be provided to the display device from the wireless transmission device and related information.
[0113] When the display device receives guidance information from the wireless transmission device, it can display the guidance information (S920). The guidance information can be displayed on the display device based on a user input signal, or when the display device connects to the wireless transmission device.
[0114] The display device can receive a selection signal for selecting at least one additional piece of data based on guidance information (S930). The display device can receive user input or selection signals by linking with devices such as a remote control or mobile phone app. Alternatively, the display device can receive user input using various buttons, a touch screen, or other interfaces provided on the display device's main body.
[0115] The display device may transmit a selection signal for at least one additional data to the wireless transmission device (S940). In this case, if the user does not input a selection signal, the display device may transmit a preset default selection signal to the wireless transmission device.

In the case of online distribution, at least a portion of the computer program product may be temporarily stored or temporarily generated in a storage medium, such as the memory of a manufacturer's server, an application store's server, or a relay server.
[0118] In addition, each of the components (e.g., modules or programs) according to the various embodiments described above may be composed of a single or multiple entities, and some of the corresponding sub-components described above may be omitted, or other sub-components may be further included in various embodiments. Alternatively or additionally, some components (e.g., modules or programs) may be integrated into a single entity, which may perform the same or similar functions as those performed by each of the corresponding components prior to integration. Operations performed by modules, programs or other components according to various embodiments may be executed sequentially, in parallel, iteratively or heuristically, or at least some operations may be executed in a different order, omitted, or other operations may be added.
[0119] In this way, the wireless transmission device and display device and data transmission method thereof according to various embodiments of the present disclosure can transmit more additional data in the same band by packetizing additional data and transmitting it together when converting analog data into digital data and transmitting it wirelessly, and can prevent errors and data loss during the data transmission process.
