Abstract
Description
Lens actuators, camera devices and optical instruments
[0001] The present embodiment relates to a lens driving device, a camera device, and an optical device.
[0002] A camera device is a device that takes pictures or videos of a subject, and is installed in optical devices such as smartphones, drones, and vehicles.
[0003] Camera devices are equipped with a shake correction function to prevent the focus from shaking due to the user's hand shaking.
[0004] However, in conventional camera devices, a guide member exists, and an OIS-x guide ball that guides the lens in the x-axis direction is arranged on the upper side of the guide member, and an OIS-y guide ball that guides the lens in the y-axis direction is arranged on the lower side of the guide member. There is a problem that the length of the lens drive mechanism in the optical axis direction increases due to the mentioned guide member and the two-stage stacked OIS guide ball, and the weight of the AF moving part of the lens drive mechanism increases, thereby restricting the AF drive.
[0005] (Patent Document 1) KR 10-2279920 B1
[0006] The present embodiment aims to provide a lens driving device that integrates an OIS-x guide ball that guides a lens in the x-axis direction and an OIS-y guide ball that guides a lens in the y-axis direction, while omitting a guide member.
[0007] Furthermore, in order to prevent crosstalk, which is an unintended movement that occurs during x-axis and y-axis driving, we aim to provide a lens driving device that individually controls two OIS-x coils, two OIS-y coils, and two OIS-x sensors and two OIS-y sensors.
[0008] In addition, it is intended to provide an open lens actuator so that one side of the OIS guide ball contacts at three or more points and the other side contacts at one or two points.
[0009] A lens driving device according to the present embodiment comprises: a base; a first carrier disposed within the base; a second carrier disposed within the first carrier; a first coil and a first magnet for moving the first carrier in an optical axis direction; a second coil and a second magnet for moving the second carrier in a first direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction; a third coil and a third magnet for moving the second carrier in a second direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction and the first direction; and a ball disposed between the first carrier and the second carrier, wherein the second coil includes two individually controlled coils, and the ball can contact one of the first carrier and the second carrier at three or more points.
[0010] The above ball can contact the other of the first carrier and the second carrier at one point.
[0011] The ball includes four balls, and each of the four balls can contact one of the first carrier and the second carrier at three or more points.
[0012] The above ball can contact the first carrier at four points.
[0013] It includes a second sensor that detects the second magnet, and the second sensor includes a 2-1 sensor and a 2-2 sensor, and the two coils may include a 2-1 coil controlled by a detection value of the 2-1 sensor and a 2-2 coil controlled by a detection value of the 2-2 sensor.
[0014] The second magnet includes a second-first sensor and a second-second sensor, and the two coils include a second-first coil and a second-second coil, and the second-first sensor can be disposed within the second-first coil, and the second-second sensor can be disposed within the second-second coil.
[0015] The third coil may include two individually controlled coils.
[0016] It includes a third sensor that detects the third magnet, and the third sensor includes a third-1 sensor and a third-2 sensor, and the third coil may include a third-1 coil controlled by a detection value of the third-1 sensor and a third-2 coil controlled by a detection value of the third-2 sensor.
[0017] The above ball can be fixed with an adhesive to either the first carrier or the second carrier.
[0018] A lens driving device according to the present embodiment comprises: a base; a first carrier disposed within the base; a second carrier disposed within the first carrier; a first coil and a first magnet for moving the first carrier in an optical axis direction; a second coil and a second magnet for moving the second carrier in a first direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction; and a third coil and a third magnet for moving the second carrier in a second direction perpendicular to the optical axis direction and the first direction, wherein the second coil includes two individually controlled coils, and one of the first carrier and the second carrier may include a hemispherical protrusion that contacts a groove of the other of the first carrier and the second carrier.
[0019] A camera device according to the present embodiment may include a printed circuit board; an image sensor disposed on the printed circuit board; the lens driving device disposed on the printed circuit board; and a lens coupled to the lens driving device.
[0020] An optical device according to the present embodiment may include a main body; the camera device disposed in the main body; and a display disposed in the main body and outputting at least one of an image and a video captured by the camera device.
[0021] Through this embodiment, the guide member is omitted, and the OIS-x guide ball that guides the lens in the x-axis direction and the OIS-y guide ball that guides the lens in the y-axis direction are integrated, so that the length of the lens driving device in the optical axis direction can be minimized.
[0022] Additionally, as the weight of the AF moving part is reduced, the power consumed for AF operation can be reduced.
[0023] Furthermore, production costs can be reduced. OIS stroke can be increased. Alternatively, the same stroke can be achieved with a smaller lens actuator.
[0024] In addition, by individually controlling the two OIS-x coils and the two OIS-y coils with the detection values detected by the two OIS-x sensors and the two OIS-y sensors, crosstalk, which is an unintended movement that occurs during x-axis driving and y-axis driving, can be prevented.
[0025] In addition, since the impact is dispersed through the three-point or more contact structure of the OIS guide ball, the phenomenon of the OIS guide ball striking the contacted injection molded product and damaging the injection molded product can be prevented.

[0139] The AF guide ball (710) can move along a rail formed between the base (110) and the AF carrier (210). The rail can be formed by grooves (111, 211). The AF guide ball (710) can move along a rail formed in the optical axis direction between the base (110) and the AF carrier (210). The rail can be formed in the optical axis direction. A protrusion of the AF carrier (210) can be arranged on the upper side of the rail. Through this, the phenomenon of the AF guide ball (710) being separated upward from the rail can be prevented.
[0140] The AF guide ball (710) may include a first ball having a first diameter and a second ball having a second diameter smaller than the first diameter. That is, the diameter of the second ball may be smaller than the diameter of the first ball. The AF guide ball (710) may include balls having different diameters.
[0141] The lens actuator (10) may include an OIS guide ball (720). The OIS guide ball (720) may guide the movement of the OIS carrier (310) relative to the AF carrier (210) in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis. The OIS guide ball (720) may be arranged between the AF moving unit (200) and the OIS moving unit (300). The OIS guide ball (720) may be arranged between the AF carrier (210) and the OIS carrier (310). The OIS guide ball (720) may be arranged between the AF carrier (210) and the OIS carrier (310) in the optical axis direction. The OIS guide ball (720) may be arranged in a groove (212) of the AF carrier (210). The OIS guide ball (720) may be arranged in a groove (311) of the OIS carrier (310). The OIS guide ball (720) can be placed between the groove (212) of the AF carrier (210) and the groove (311) of the OIS carrier (310).
[0142] The OIS guide ball (720) can guide the OIS moving unit (300) to move in the x-axis direction and the y-axis direction. The OIS guide ball (720) can guide the movement of the OIS moving unit (300) in the x-axis direction and the y-axis direction. The OIS guide ball (720) can guide the OIS carrier (310) to move in the x-axis direction and the y-axis direction which are perpendicular to the optical axis direction with respect to the AF carrier (210). That is, the OIS guide ball (720) can guide the OIS carrier (310) to move in the x-axis direction and the y-axis direction. In other words, the OIS guide ball (720) can guide the movement in both the x-axis direction and the y-axis direction. For reference, compared to a comparative example in which a ball guiding the x-axis direction and a ball guiding the y-axis direction are separately provided, the size of the lens driving device (10) can be minimized in this embodiment in which the ball guiding the x-axis direction and the ball guiding the y-axis direction are integrally provided. In particular, the height of the lens driving device (10) in the optical axis direction can be reduced. Through this, the height protruding from the smartphone, i.e., the shoulder height, can be minimized.
[0143] The OIS guide ball (720) may include multiple balls. The OIS guide ball (720) may include four balls. The OIS guide ball (720) may include first to fourth balls (721, 722, 723, 724). Each of the first to fourth balls (721, 722, 723, 724) may contact one of the AF carrier (210) and the OIS carrier (310) at three or more points.
[0144] The OIS guide ball (720) can contact one of the AF carrier (210) and the OIS carrier (310) at three or more points. The OIS guide ball (720) can contact the other of the AF carrier (210) and the OIS carrier (310) at one point. Alternatively, the OIS guide ball (720) can contact the other of the AF carrier (210) and the OIS carrier (310) at two points. The OIS guide ball (720) can contact the other of the AF carrier (210) and the OIS carrier (310) at one point in an initial position where no current is applied to the coil, and can contact the other of the AF carrier (210) and the OIS carrier (310) at two points when current is applied to the coil and moves to the maximum in the x-axis direction or the y-axis direction.
[0145] The OIS guide ball (720) can contact the AF carrier (210) at four points. At this time, the OIS guide ball (720) can contact the OIS carrier (310) at one or two points. As a variation, the OIS guide ball (720) can contact the OIS carrier (210) at four points. At this time, the OIS guide ball (720) can contact the AF carrier (210) at one or two points. The OIS guide ball (720) can move in a cloud. The OIS guide ball (720) can rotate.
[0146] Alternatively, the OIS guide ball (720) may be fixed with an adhesive to either the AF carrier (210) or the OIS carrier (310). The OIS guide ball (720) may slide relative to the other of the AF carrier (210) or the OIS carrier (310).
[0147] In another variation, one of the AF carrier (210) and the OIS carrier (310) may include a hemispherical protrusion that contacts a groove of the other of the AF carrier (210) and the OIS carrier (310). In this case, the protrusion may slide along the groove.
[0148] The lens driving device (10) may include a ball pressurizing member. The ball pressurizing member may pressurize the ball to prevent the ball from being detached. The ball pressurizing member may press the ball against an object. The ball pressurizing member may include a yoke on which a magnet and an attractive force act. The ball (710, 720) may be pressed by the attractive force between the magnet (410, 510, 610) and the yoke (440, 540, 640). The AF guide ball (710) may be pressed by the attractive force between the AF magnet (410) and the AF yoke (440). The OIS guide ball (720) may be pressed by the attractive force between the OIS-x magnet (510) and the OIS-x yoke (540) and the attractive force between the OIS-y magnet (610) and the OIS-y yoke (640).
[0149]
[0150] Below, the auto focus (AF) operation of the lens driving device according to the present embodiment is described.
[0151] Fig. 17 is a drawing for explaining the AF operation of the lens driving device according to the present embodiment.
[0152] The moving part may be positioned at a position spaced apart from both the upper plate and the base (110) of the cover member at an initial position where no current is applied to the AF coil (420). At this time, the moving part may include an AF moving part (200). The moving part may include an AF carrier (210). The moving part may include an OIS moving part (300). The moving part may include a lens. Furthermore, the moving part may include an AF carrier (210), an OIS carrier (310), and a lens.
[0153] When current is applied to the AF coil (420), the AF moving part (see A in FIG. 17) can move upward or downward along the optical axis (see B in FIG. 17).
[0154] When a positive current is applied to the AF coil (420), the AF magnet (410) can move upward in the optical axis direction due to the electromagnetic interaction between the AF coil (420) and the AF magnet (410). At this time, the AF carrier (210) can move upward in the optical axis direction together with the AF magnet (410). Furthermore, the OIS carrier (310) and the lens can move upward in the optical axis direction together with the AF carrier (210). Accordingly, the distance between the lens and the image sensor (60) can be changed, so that the focus of the image formed on the image sensor (60) through the lens can be adjusted.
[0155] When a reverse current is applied to the AF coil (420), the AF magnet (410) can move downward in the optical axis direction due to the electromagnetic interaction between the AF coil (420) and the AF magnet (410). At this time, the AF carrier (210) can move downward in the optical axis direction together with the AF magnet (410). Furthermore, the OIS carrier (310) and the lens can move downward in the optical axis direction together with the AF carrier (210). Accordingly, the distance between the lens and the image sensor (60) can be changed, so that the focus of the image formed on the image sensor (60) through the lens can be adjusted.
[0156]
[0157] Below, the optical image stabilization (OIS) operation of the lens driving device according to the present embodiment is described.
[0158] Fig. 18 is a drawing for explaining OIS operation of a lens driving device according to the present embodiment.
[0159] The moving part can be placed in the initial position without current being applied to the OIS-x coil (520) and the OIS-y coil (620). At this time, the moving part can include an OIS moving part (300). The moving part can include an OIS carrier (310). The moving part can include a lens.
[0160] When current is applied to the OIS-x coil (520), the moving part (see A in FIG. 18) can move in the x-axis direction (see B in FIG. 18).
[0161] When current is applied to the OIS-x coil (520), the OIS-x magnet (510) can move in the x-axis direction perpendicular to the optical axis due to the electromagnetic interaction between the OIS-x coil (520) and the OIS-x magnet (510). At this time, the OIS carrier (310) can move in the x-axis direction together with the OIS-x magnet (510). Furthermore, the lens can move in the x-axis direction together with the OIS carrier (310). More specifically, when a positive current is applied to the OIS-x coil (520), the OIS-x magnet (510), the OIS carrier (310), and the lens can move in one direction on the x-axis. Additionally, when reverse current is applied to the OIS-x coil (520), the OIS-x magnet (510), the OIS carrier (310), and the lens can move in the other direction along the x-axis.
[0162] When current is applied to the OIS-y coil (620), the moving part (see A in Fig. 18) can move in the y-axis direction (see C in Fig. 18).
[0163] When current is applied to the OIS-y coil (620), the OIS-y magnet (610) can move in the y-axis direction perpendicular to the optical axis due to the electromagnetic interaction between the OIS-y coil (620) and the OIS-y magnet (610). At this time, the OIS carrier (310) can move in the y-axis direction together with the OIS-y magnet (610). Furthermore, the lens can move in the y-axis direction together with the OIS carrier (310). More specifically, when a positive current is applied to the OIS-y coil (620), the OIS-y magnet (610), the OIS carrier (310), and the lens can move in one direction along the y-axis. Additionally, when a reverse current is applied to the OIS-y coil (620), the OIS-y magnet (610), the OIS carrier (310), and the lens can move in the other direction along the y-axis.
[0164] Meanwhile, the OIS-x sensor (530) can detect the strength of the magnetic field of the OIS-x magnet (510) to detect the amount of movement or position of the OIS-x magnet (510). The amount of movement or position detected by the OIS-x sensor (530) can be used for x-axis direction shake correction feedback control. The OIS-y sensor (630) can detect the strength of the magnetic field of the OIS-y magnet (610) to detect the amount of movement or position of the OIS-y magnet (610). The amount of movement or position detected by the OIS-y sensor (630) can be used for y-axis direction shake correction feedback control.
[0165] Furthermore, in the present embodiment, crosstalk can be prevented by controlling the first coil (521) of the OIS-x coil (520) by the detection value of the first sensor (531) of the OIS-x sensor (530) and controlling the second coil (522) of the OIS-x coil (520) by the detection value of the second sensor (532) of the OIS-x sensor (530). In more detail, when applying current to the OIS-x coil (520), the phenomenon of the moving part moving or rotating in the y-axis direction can be prevented.
[0166] In addition, in the present embodiment, crosstalk can be prevented by controlling the first coil (621) of the OIS-y coil (620) by the detection value of the first sensor (631) of the OIS-y sensor (630) and controlling the second coil (622) of the OIS-y coil (620) by the detection value of the second sensor (632) of the OIS-y sensor (630). In more detail, when applying current to the OIS-y coil (620), the phenomenon of the moving part moving or rotating in the x-axis direction can be prevented.
