Description

Propulsion generator and drone using the same

[0001] The present invention relates to a data input device that provides a theft monitoring function for a portable PC, and more specifically, to a data input device that recognizes a situation in which a theft of a portable PC has occurred and transmits an alarm sound to the surroundings to protect the portable PC from a theft suspect.

[0002] A typical drone is an unmanned aerial vehicle that is controlled remotely without a pilot on board, and has a structure equipped with an externally exposed propeller (wing) that generates propulsion.

[0003] As such, typical drones feature exposed wings, which can lead to safety hazards due to propeller contact in the event of an abnormal crash or collision. Furthermore, propeller damage can lead to increased maintenance and repair costs. Furthermore, the exposed propellers generate significant noise.

[0004] These problems limit the applications that general drones can be used for, and in particular, their structure is not suitable for use as manned drones with people on board.

[0005] The present invention aims to provide a propulsion generator capable of generating propulsion without a propeller and a drone using the same.

[0006] The present invention provides a propulsion generator comprising: a motor (110); a drive shaft (120) rotationally driven by the motor (110); and a plurality of shells coupled to the drive shaft (120) with the central axis (X1) of the drive shaft (120) as a common rotation axis, wherein a plurality of inlets are formed in each of the plurality of shells into which fluid flows in according to the rotation of the drive shaft, and the introduced fluid is branched and discharged by the plurality of shells.

[0007] In one embodiment, the thrust generator may be such that the branch discharge of the fluid is performed along one common direction.

[0008] In one embodiment, the thrust generator may have a direction in which the common direction is parallel to the central axis (X1).

[0009] In one embodiment, the thrust generator may be configured such that the plurality of shells have similar shapes and their sizes become smaller as they are positioned further inward.

[0010] In one embodiment, the thrust generator may have a size that becomes smaller as the inlet formed in the plurality of shells is positioned further inward.

[0011] In addition, the present invention provides a propulsion generator including a motor (110); a drive shaft (120) rotationally driven by the motor (110); and a plurality of shells coupled to the drive shaft (120) with the central axis (X1) of the drive shaft (120) as a common rotation axis, wherein a plurality of inlets are formed in the remaining shells, excluding the innermost shell, of the plurality of shells, through which fluid flows in according to the rotation of the drive shaft, and the introduced fluid is branched and discharged by the plurality of shells.

[0012] In one embodiment, the thrust generator may be such that the branch discharge of the fluid is performed along one common direction.

[0013] In one embodiment, the thrust generator may have a direction in which the common direction is parallel to the central axis (X1).

[0014] In one embodiment, the thrust generator may be configured such that the plurality of shells have similar shapes and their sizes become smaller as they are positioned further inward.

[0015] In one embodiment, the thrust generator may have a size that becomes smaller as the inlet formed in the plurality of shells is positioned further inward.

[0016] In addition, the present invention provides a drone including a drone body (11) and a plurality of propulsion generators connected to the drone body (11), wherein the propulsion generators include a motor (110), a drive shaft (120) that is rotationally driven by the motor (110), and a plurality of shells that are connected to the drive shaft (120) with the central axis (X1) of the drive shaft (120) as a common rotation axis, and a plurality of inlets are formed in each of the plurality of shells into which fluid flows in according to the rotation of the drive shaft, and the introduced fluid is branched and discharged by the plurality of shells.

[0017] In addition, the present invention provides a drone including a drone body (11) and a plurality of propulsion generators connected to the drone body (11), wherein the propulsion generators include a motor (110), a drive shaft (120) rotationally driven by the motor (110), and a plurality of shells coupled to the drive shaft (120) with the central axis (X1) of the drive shaft (120) as a common rotation axis, and a plurality of inlets through which fluid flows in according to the rotation of the drive shaft are formed in the remaining shells except for the innermost shell among the plurality of shells, and the introduced fluid is branched and discharged by the plurality of shells.

[0018] The propulsion generator according to the present invention has a plurality of shells that rotate coaxially and applies a flow path structure through which the fluid introduced therethrough is branched and discharged in the same direction, thereby generating propulsion without applying a conventional propulsion generating means such as a propeller.

[0019] Since the drone according to the present invention is manufactured using such a propulsion generator as a means of generating lift, noise and safety can be improved compared to general drones using propellers.

[0020] The thrust generator according to the present invention is suitable for modular construction, i.e., for independent manufacturing. Therefore, when the thrust generator is used as a component in products such as drones, the method of assembling and connecting separately manufactured thrust generators can be easily applied.

[0030] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the drawings.

[0031]

[0032] 1. First embodiment of the propulsion generator

[0033] Figures 1 to 4 are drawings showing a propulsion generator according to a first embodiment of the present invention.

[0034] Referring to this, the propulsion generator (100A) according to the first embodiment of the present invention includes a motor (110), a drive shaft (120), and a plurality of shells (130, 140, 150, 160, 170).

[0035] A plurality of shells (130, 140, 150, 160, 170) are coupled to the drive shaft (120) with the central axis (X1) of the drive shaft (120) as a common rotation axis. Therefore, when the motor (110) is operated and the drive shaft (120) is rotated, the plurality of shells (130, 140, 150, 160, 170) coupled thereto are also rotated together.

[0036] Each of the plurality of shells (130, 140, 150, 160, 170) has a plurality of inlets (131, 141, 151, 161, 171).

[0037] As the drive shaft (120) rotates due to the operation of the motor, external fluid flows into the plurality of shells (130, 140, 150, 160, 170) through the plurality of inlets (131, 141, 151, 161, 171).

[0038] In the drawing, it is exemplified that each of the plurality of shells (130, 140, 150, 160, 170) is provided with four inlets. However, it is not limited thereto, and the number of inlets provided in each of the plurality of shells (130, 140, 150, 160, 170) may be variously changed to two, three, five, etc. In addition, in the drawing, the inlet is exemplified as a circle. However, it is not limited thereto, and the shape of the inlet may be variously changed to an oval, a rectangle, etc.

[0039] Referring to FIG. 4, the inlets (131, 141, 151, 161, 171) are formed in the upper region of the shells (130, 140, 150, 160, 170), and thus the inlets (131, 141, 151, 161, 171) have an arrangement adjacent to the drive shaft (120). The inlets (131, 141, 151, 161, 171) have an arrangement sharing a common central axis (X2). At this time, the central axis (X2) is inclined at a predetermined angle with respect to the central axis (X1) of the drive shaft (120).

[0040] A plurality of shells (130, 140, 150, 160, 170) are configured to have similar shapes to each other. In the drawing, the plurality of shells (130, 140, 150, 160, 170) are provided in a semi-ellipsoidal shape. However, the shapes of the plurality of shells (130, 140, 150, 160, 170) may be changed to other shapes, such as a hemispherical shape or a conical shape.

[0041] The plurality of shells (130, 140, 150, 160, 170) gradually decrease in size from the outside to the inside. Therefore, the outermost shell (130) is the largest and the innermost shell (170) is the smallest. Similarly, the plurality of inlets (131, 141, 151, 161, 171) also gradually decrease in size from the outside to the inside.

[0042] Referring to FIG. 4, the propulsion generator (100A) of the present embodiment has a plurality of shells (130, 140, 150, 160, 170) and thus has a plurality of branch paths (W1, W2, W3, W4, W5). Accordingly, the fluid flowing into the propulsion generator (100A) is branched and discharged by the plurality of branch paths (W1, W2, W3, W4, W5).

[0043] As shown in Fig. 4, the downstream ends (bottoms in the drawing) of the plurality of branches (W1, W2, W3, W4, W5) have an arrangement along a common direction. As illustrated in the drawing, the common direction is preferably a direction parallel to the rotational axis (X1) of the drive shaft (120).

[0044]

[0045] FIG. 5 is a drawing showing the operation and function of a propulsion generator according to the first embodiment of the present invention.

[0046] Referring to this, when the motor (110) is operated, the drive shaft (120) rotates, and accordingly, a plurality of shells (130, 140, 150, 160, 170) rotate together coaxially with the central axis (X1).

[0047] At this time, the fluid flow indicated by arrows occurs due to the action of centrifugal force. The solid arrows indicate the inflow of fluid, and the dotted arrows indicate the discharge of fluid.

[0048] According to this fluid flow, the fluid flowing into the propulsion generator (100) is supplied to and discharged from a plurality of branches (W1, W2, W3, W4, W5) through a plurality of inlets (131, 141, 151, 161, 171).

[0049] Specifically, regarding the branch supply process, some of the external fluid flowing into the first inlet (131) on the outermost side branches off to the first branch (W1) and the remainder flows into the second inlet (141). Some of the fluid flowing into the second inlet (141) branches off to the second branch (W2) and the remainder flows into the third inlet (151). Some of the fluid flowing into the third inlet (151) branches off to the third branch (W3) and the remainder flows into the fourth inlet (161). Some of the fluid flowing into the fourth inlet (161) branches off to the fourth branch (W4) and the remainder flows into the fifth branch (W5) through the fifth inlet (171).

[0050] As illustrated in FIG. 5, according to the shells (130, 140, 150, 160, 170) of the present invention, such fluid branch discharge is performed along one common direction parallel to the central axis (X1).

[0051] And according to this fluid flow, a relatively greater fluid pressure is formed at the bottom than at the top of the propulsion generator (100), and due to the pressure difference, a propulsion force is generated in the direction opposite to the fluid discharge direction (downward in the drawing) (upward in the drawing).

[0052]

[0053] 2. Second embodiment of the propulsion generator

[0054] Figures 6 and 7 are drawings showing a propulsion generator according to a second embodiment of the present invention.

[0055] Referring to this, the propulsion generator (100B) according to the second embodiment of the present invention has almost the same structure as the propulsion generator (100A) of the first embodiment described above, but the inlet (131, 141, 151, 161) is formed only in the remaining shells (130, 140, 150, 160) except for the innermost shell (170) among the plurality of shells (130, 140, 150, 160, 170).

[0056] The reason for not forming an inlet in the innermost shell (170) in this way is to prevent the phenomenon of external fluid flowing back through the innermost shell (170).

[0057] This fluid backflow phenomenon is explained with reference to Fig. 8. As illustrated therein, since there is no other shell inside the innermost shell (170), the inner space of the innermost shell (170) has a wide open structure. Therefore, during the operation of the propulsion generator (100B), a phenomenon in which external fluid backflows through the inner space of the innermost shell (170) may occur. If this backflow phenomenon occurs, propulsion cannot be smoothly generated.

[0058] By not forming an inlet in the innermost shell (170) as in the propulsion generator (100B) of the second embodiment, such a backflow phenomenon can be prevented from occurring.

[0059]

[0060] 3. Third embodiment of the propulsion generator

[0061] FIGS. 9 and 10 are drawings showing a propulsion generator according to a third embodiment of the present invention.

[0062] With reference to this, the propulsion generator (100C) according to the third embodiment of the present invention is different from the propulsion generators (100A, 100B) of the above-described embodiments in that the plurality of shells (130, 140, 150, 160, 170) constituting it have a conical shape.

[0063] In the drawing, an inlet is formed in the innermost shell (170), but the structure can be changed to one in which no inlet is formed in the innermost shell (170), such as in the propulsion generator (100B) of the second embodiment.

[0064]

[0065] 4. Fourth embodiment of the propulsion generator

[0066] Fig. 11 is a drawing showing a propulsion generator according to a fourth embodiment of the present invention.

[0067] With reference to this, the propulsion generator (100D) according to the fourth embodiment of the present invention differs from the propulsion generators of the above-described embodiments in that the plurality of shells (130, 140, 150) constituting the same have a flat portion that extends relatively horizontally and widely in a disk shape. The flat portion and the curved edge of the shell in Fig. 11 may be configured in the shape of a disk with a curved end.

[0068] When the motor (110) rotates, a difference in centrifugal force occurs between the inner portion (A) close to the central axis (X1) and the edge portion (B) away from the central axis (X1) in each shell (130, 140, 150).

[0069] At this time, the fluid around the shell receives centrifugal force from the shell due to viscosity and boundary layer effect, which causes fluid flow, and the difference in centrifugal force between the inner part (A) and the edge part (B) causes fluid flow from the center of the shell to the outside of the shell.

[0070] According to this principle, as the flat part of the shell becomes wider, the difference in centrifugal force between the inner part (A) and the edge part (B) increases, resulting in the formation of a stronger fluid flow, which in turn enables greater propulsive force to be obtained.

[0071]

[0072] 5. Fifth embodiment of the propulsion generator

[0073] Fig. 12 is a drawing showing a propulsion generator according to a fifth embodiment of the present invention.

[0074] With reference to this, the propulsion generator (100E) according to the fifth embodiment of the present invention is different from the propulsion generators of the above-described embodiments in that the surfaces of the plurality of shells (130, 140, 150) constituting the same are provided with curves (R). These curves (R) are formed to have a concentric arrangement centered on the central axis (X1) of the propulsion generator. Additionally, these curves may be configured in a direction perpendicular to the concentric circles. Also, they may be a combination of curves in the concentric direction and curves in the direction perpendicular to the concentric circles. These curves may have various sizes, and in particular, may have a nano-scale size.

[0075] By providing the shell surface with a curvature (R) in this way, the surface area of the shell is increased, thereby enhancing the viscosity of the fluid and the boundary layer effect during the operation of the propulsion generator. In addition, by arranging the curvatures in a concentric direction, the resistance of the curvature to the rotational motion of the fluid is minimized, and by arranging the curvatures in a concentric vertical direction, the resistance of the curvature to the centrifugal force of the fluid is minimized.

[0076] Alternatively, as illustrated in Fig. 13, it is also possible to provide a protrusion (P) or a groove (G) on the shell surface instead of a curve (R) as a means of increasing the surface area of the shell.

[0077]

[0078] 6. Drone Example

[0079] FIGS. 14 and 15 are drawings showing a drone according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0080] Referring to this, a drone (10) according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a drone body (11) and a plurality of propulsion generators (100) connected thereto. The drone body (11) and the propulsion generators (100) may be connected via a connecting frame (12).

[0081] A plurality of thrust generators (100) serve to generate the lift required for drone operation. The thrust generators (100A, 100B, 100C, 100D, 100E) of the aforementioned embodiments can be applied as thrust generators (100) for the drone (10).

[0082] The plurality of thrust generators (100) have an air flow that is drawn in from the top and branched out downward through the plurality of shells as the motor (110) operates, thereby generating upward lift (thrust) required for drone operation.

[0083] The drone body (11) is configured to include an electric supply unit that supplies electricity to multiple propulsion generators (100) and a control unit that controls the operation of the motor.

[0084] In this embodiment, the drone (10) is shown as being equipped with four propulsion generators (100), but the number of propulsion generators (100) equipped on the drone (10) may be varied to include two, three, five, six, etc.
