[0034] As used herein, the term “resource, ” “transmission resource, ” “uplink resource, ” or “downlink resource” may refer to any resource for performing a communication, such as a resource in time domain, a resource in frequency domain, a resource in space domain, a resource in code domain, or any other resource enabling a communication, and the like. In the following, unless explicitly stated, a resource in both frequency domain and time domain will be used as an example of a transmission resource for describing some example embodiments of the present disclosure. It is noted that example embodiments of the present disclosure are equally applicable to other resources in other domains.
[0035] As discussed above, STxMP has been agreed to be supported. Further, if the supported number of panels / TCI states / TRPs / SRS resource sets is two, i.e., support applying up to two panels / TCI states / TRPs / SRS resource sets simultaneously, it is also referred to as STx2P.
[0036] In release-18, the unified TCI state for M-TRP supports STxMP transmission scheme, and thus at least two (a pair of) joint / UL TCI states are needed to be configured by radio resource control (RRC) and be activated by medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) command (also referred to as TCI switch / activation command sometimes) .
[0037] Further, beam reporting procedure has been enhanced for the STxMP, where the UE may report the beam pairs capable of simultaneous UL transmission, i.e., group-based beam report.
[0038] Regarding group-based beam report, if the UE is configured with the higher layer parameter groupBasedBeamReporting-v18 set to JointULandDL, the UE may be not required to update measurements for more than 64 channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS) and / or Synchronization Signal and physical broadcast channel (PBCH) block (SSB) resources, and the UE shall report in a single reporting instance nrofReportedGroups-r18, if configured, group (s) of two CSI-RS resource indicators (CRIs) or Resource Indicators (SSBRIs) selecting one CSI-RS or SSB from each of the two CSI Resource Sets for the report setting, where CSI-RS and / or SSB resources of each group can be received simultaneously and applied for simultaneous transmission with spatial filters by the UE subject to UE capability.
[0039] Further, if the UE is configured with the higher layer parameter groupBasedBeamReporting-v18 set to ULOnly, the UE may be not required to update measurements for more than 64 CSI-RS and / or SSB resources, and the UE shall report in a single reporting instance nrofReportedGroups-r18, if configured, group (s) of two CRIs or SSBRIs selecting one CSI-RS or SSB from each of the two CSI Resource Sets for the report setting, where CSI-RS and / or SSB resources of each group can be applied for simultaneous transmission with spatial filters by the UE subject to UE capability.
[0040] With this enhanced beam report, the network device may activate and indicate the TCI state pair accordingly. However, if the enhanced beam reporting has not been performed or due to other scheduling decision network device made, the network device may not always provide beam indication with a pair of TCI states which can be used simultaneously. If so, the subsequent STxMP may be not performed properly.
[0041] As used herein, the term “TRP” may refer to an antenna port or an antenna array (with one or more antenna elements) available to the network device located at a specific geographical location. However, in some example embodiments, operations described in connection with a terminal device may be implemented at a network device or other device, and operations described in connection with a network device may be implemented at a terminal device or other device.
[0063] In the communication network 100, the terminal device 110 is deployed with more than one panel. As illustrated in FIG. 1, the terminal device 110 is deployed with panels 140-1 and 140-2. In the following, the panels 140-1 and 140-2 may be referred to as the first panel 140-1 and the second panel 140-2, respectively.
[0064] In the communication network 100, STxMP is supported. Specifically, the terminal device 110 may perform an uplink transmission over both of the panels 140-1 and 140-2 simultaneously.
[0065] In FIG. 1A, both single-DCI (S-DCI) and multi-DCI (M-DCI) may be supported. If the terminal device 110 is not provided coresetPoolIndex value, or the coresetPoolIndex values are the same for all CORESETs, the S-DCI is configured.
[0066] In some embodiments, when a UE is configured by higher layer parameter PDCCH-Config that contains two different values of coresetPoolIndex in ControlResourceSet, M-DCI is configured.
[0067] In some other embodiments, when the UE is provided two coresetPoolIndex values 0 and 1 for the first and second CORESETs M-DCI is configured.
[0068] Alternatively, in some other embodiments, when the UE is not provided coresetPoolIndex value for the first CORESETs while is provided coresetPoolIndex value of 1 for the second CORESETs, M-DCI is configured.
[0069] In some embodiments, as for joint / UL TCI states, the UE is configured with DLorJoint-TCIState (if unifiedTCI-StateType is indicated as Joint) or UL-TCIState configurations for UL channels / signals on a serving cell.
[0070] In case of S-DCI, if the parameter “multipanelScheme” is configured with one of the values {sdmScheme, SFNscheme} , the STxMP is configured for PUSCH. In some embodiments, parameter “multipanelScheme” refers to a parameter to configure multiple panel simultaneous uplink transmission SDM or SFN scheme for PUSCH.

In some embodiments, parameter “enableSTx2PofmDCI” refers to a parameter r to enable ‘PUSCH+PUSCH’ multiple panel simultaneous uplink transmission in multi-DCI based mTRP system. When this parameter is configured, two coresetPoolIndex values are configured and two SRS resource sets for codebook (CB) or non-codebook (NCB) are configured, the multi-DCI based STxMP ‘PUSCH+PUSCH’ is configured.
[0072] In some embodiments, if parameter “multipanelSfnScheme” is configured and enabled, PUCCH STxMP is configured. In some embodiments, parameter “multipanelSfnScheme” refers to a parameter to configure multiple panel simultaneous uplink transmission SFN scheme for PUCCH resource.
[0073] In some embodiments, in case of S-DCI is configured, STxMP may be configured by a single DCI, where a TCI state pair (s) may be indciated / scheduled.
[0074] In some embodiments, in case of M-DCI is configured, STxMP may be configured by two DCIs, each DCI indicates / schedules one TCI state. Specifically, when M-DCI is configured, the two joint / UL TCI states are indicated by two DCIs for two TRPs (e.g., two PDCCH corresponds to CORESETs associated with different CORESETPoolIndex value) respectively.
[0075] Reference is now made to FIG. 1B, which illustrates a signaling flow 100B of communication in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0076] In FIG. 1B, UE capability may be optionally transferred among the terminal device 110 and the network device 120.
[0077] In FIG. 1B, after initial access or RRC reconfiguration with sync, and before the earliest group-based beam report, the network device 120 has no accurate information on which beams may be used for STxMP. The pair of indicated joint / UL TCI states which has been not reported in the group-based beam report may be considered as “unknown” to the terminal device for STxMP.
[0078] In some embodiments, below configuration parameters related to group-based beam reporting for STxMP may be configured via RRC signaling:
[0079] ● parameter of groupBasedBeamReporting-r18, which may be set to JointULandDL or ULOnly;
[0080] ● parameter of nrofReportedGroups-r18, may be set to {1, 2, 3, 4} based on UE capability reporting.
[0081] Alternatively, or in addition, the terminal device 110 may provide other report rather than the group-based beam report, including but not limited to panel-related report. UE could inform the network device 120 that it is capable of simultaneous multi-panel transmission.
[0082] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may provide, via such as UE capability reporting, its panel ‘type’ information to the network device 120 by reporting capability value set (or capability value set index, capability index) which contains the maximum supported number of SRS antenna ports for STxMP.
[0083] The terminal device 110 may provide, via correspondence report with both capability value set index and CRI (s) / SSBRI (s) in one report, its panel ‘status’ to the network device 120. For example, the terminal device 110 may report the index corresponding to simultaneous panels along with SSBRI / CRI-RSRP report to let the network device 120 be aware that simultaneous panels are currently in use or to be used and are associated with reported SSBRIs / CRIs.
[0084] In some embodiments, (before transmitting the related report (the above mentioned group-based or panel-related report) , UE is not expected to perform STxMP. In other words, if there is no known TCI state pair, STRP is expected / performed as a default operation.
[0085] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may be not expected / the terminal device 110 may not expect to be configured with STxMP transmission. Or, the terminal device 110 may expect / the terminal device 110 may be expected to transmit STRP / single-panel / Single TCI based PUSCH.
[0086] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may be not expected / the terminal device 110 may not expect to be activated with two UL / joint TCI states for STxMP. Or, the terminal device 110 may expect / the terminal device 110 nay be expected to activated with one UL / joint TCI state.
[0087] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may be not expected / the terminal device 110 may not expect to be scheduled with SRS resource set indicator with codepoint “10” or “11” in DCI or other singalling for UL grant. Or, the terminal device 110 may expect / the terminal device 110 may be expected to be scheduled with no SRS resource set indicator or SRS resource set indicator with codepoint “00” or “10” in DCI or other singalling for UL grant.
[0088] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may apply a specific Tx spatial domain filter or UL transmissions. The Tx spatial domain filter can be one of the following: the Tx spatial domain filter used in latest initial or random access procedure, e.g., for physical random access channel (PRACH) transmission; the Tx spatial domain filter corresponds to a specific UL / joint TCI state, e.g., the TCI state with lowest ID; the Tx spatial domain filter corresponds to a SSBRI / CRI in latest beam report (not the beam report for STxMP) , for example, the SSBRI / CRI with best RSRP.
[0089] In addition, the terminal device 110 may need to provide information to the network device 120 if one or many groups of UL beams cannot be found.
[0090] In some embodiments, if a number of beam pairs found by terminal device 110 is lower than a configured number of beam pairs, the group-based beam measurement report comprises information indicating failing to find one or more beam pairs.
[0091] Specifically, in the group-based beam report set the two CRI / SSBRI fields and one corresponding L1-RSRP field of the i-th group to special values (e.g., all “1” or all “0” ) to indicated that i-th group of beams cannot be found.
[0092] In some embodiments, a MAC CE activation / indication command provides a list of TCI state pairs to be activated for further DCI selection or a MAC CE activation / indication command may provide a TCI state pairs to be used.
[0093] In FIG. 1B, if the network device 120 always follows the terminal device 110 reported beam pairs, then the MAC CE provides only known TCI state pairs. Alternatively, if the network device 120 does not always follow the terminal device 110 report, then the MAC CE may provide unknown TCI state pairs.
[0094] In the present discourse, a delay (switch delay / update delay) may be determined properly upon reception of the MAC CE activation / indication command.
[0095] As for a DCI based indication, the indicated TCI state pair should be comprised in the activated list (indicated in the MAC CE activation / indication command) , which means that the indicated TCI state pair in DCI should always be a known TCI state pair.
[0096] Example processes
[0097] Principle and implementations of the present disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to FIG. 2 and FIG. 3. For the purpose of discussion, FIG. 2 and FIG. 3 will be described with reference to FIG. 1.
[0098] It should be understood that although feature (s) / operation (s) are discussed in specific example embodiments separately, unless clearly indicated to the contrary, these feature (s) / operation (s) described in different example embodiments may be used in any suitable combination.
[0099] Further, it is to be understood that the operations at the terminal device 110 and the network device 120 should be coordinated. In other words, the network device 120 and the terminal device 110 should have common understanding about configurations, parameters and so on. Such common understanding may be implemented by any suitable interactions between the network device 120 and the terminal device 110 or both the network device 120 and the terminal device 110 applying the same rule / policy. In the following, although some operations are described from a perspective of the terminal device 110, it is to be understood that the corresponding operations should be performed by the network device 120. Similarly, although some operations are described from a perspective of the network device 120, it is to be understood that the corresponding operations should be performed by the terminal device 110. Merely for brevity, some of the same or similar contents are omitted here.
[0100] Example processes discussed with reference to FIG. 2
[0101] Reference is now made to FIG. 2, which illustrates a signaling flow 200 of communication in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0102] In case of STxMP, the reference signal (RS) resources associated with the two indicated joint / UL TCI states is expected, the two indicated joint / UL TCI states are able to be used for uplink transmission simultaneously, for example, the two indicated joint / UL TCI states may be indicated in a UE beam report for STxMP (i.e., group-based beam report) .
[0103] In the following, how to determine whether a TCI state pair is known to the terminal device 110 and how to determine a delay after receiving a TCI switch command (such as, MAC CE activation / indication command) will be discussed.
[0104] In operation, as illustrated in FIG. 2, the terminal device receives 210 configuration information (which may be comprised in RRC) from a network device 120, where the configuration information indicates at least one transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state configured for the terminal device 110.
[0105] The terminal device receives 230 a TCI switch command indicating at least one TCI state pair (such as, a MAC CE) , wherein each TCI state pair comprises two TCI states to be applied simultaneously and the two TCI states are comprised in the at least one TCI states.
[0106] Then, the terminal device 110 determines 230 a delay for the at least one TCI state pair based at least in part on a determination about whether the at least one TCI state pair is known to the terminal device 110.
[0107] In some embodiments, the configuration information may be comprised in radio resource control (RRC) signalling and the TCI switch command may be a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) .
[0108] In the following, how to determine whether a TCI state pair is known to the terminal device 110 will be discussed in detail. As a general rule, whether the TCI state pair is known to the terminal device 110 is based on the transmission status of a related group-based beam report for STxMP. That is because before the earliest group-based beam report, the network device 120 has no accurate information on which beams (or beam pair) can be used for STxMP. Thus, if there is no group-based beam report, the pair of indicated TCI states in the TCI switch command may be considered as “unknown” to the terminal device 110.
[0109] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine a TCI state pair of the at least one TCI state pair is known to the terminal device 110 if at least one of the following condition is met:
[0110] ● a group-based beam measurement report for the TCI state pair has been transmitted before the TCI switch command is received; or
[0111] ● the TCI switch command is received within a predefined period after the last transmission of reference signals associated with the group-based beam measurement report.
[0112] More specifically, in some embodiments, the indicated joint / uplink TCI state pair is known to the terminal device 110 if (apart of) the following conditions are met:
[0113] ● During the period from the last transmission of the RS resources used for the layer 1 (L1) -reference signal receiving power (RSRP) measurement reporting for the target pair of joint / UL TCI states to the completion of active joint / UL TCI states switch, where the RS resources for L1-RSRP measurement is the RS in target uplink TCI state or QCLed to the indicated joint / uplink TCI state;
[0114] ● Uplink TCI state switch command is received within a predefined period (e.g., 1280 ms) upon the last transmission of the RS resources for beam reporting or measurement;
[0115] ● The terminal device 110 has sent at least one group of RS resources may be applied for simultaneous transmission with spatial filter for the target joint / UL TCI states before the joint / uplink TCI state switch command, e.g., groupBasedBeamReporting-v18 set to JointULandDL or ULOnly.
[0116] Additionally, in some embodiments, the known TCI state pair requires at least one of the following:
[0117] ● the RS configured in indicated joint / uplink TCI state remains detectable during the joint / uplink TCI state switching period; as one example, the SNR of the RS configured in indicated joint / uplink TCI state is larger than or equal to a threshed, such as, -3dB;
[0118] ● The indicated joint / uplink TCI state remains detectable during the joint / uplink TCI state switching period;
[0119] ● The SSB associated with the joint / uplink TCI state remain detectable during the uplink TCI switching period; as one example such as, the SNR of the joint / uplink TCI state is larger than or equal to a threshed, such as, -3dB; additionally, the SSB may be associated with either the serving cell PCI or a PCI different from serving cell PCI.
[0120] Alternatively, in some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine a TCI state pair of the at least one TCI state pair is known to the terminal device 110 if at least one of the following condition is met:
[0121] ● a beam measurement report for at least one of the TCI states in the TCI state pair has been transmitted before the TCI switch command is received; or
[0122] ● the TCI switch command is received within a predefined period after the last transmission of reference signals associated with beam measurement report.
[0123] According to the above discussions, how to determine whether a TCI state pair is known / unknown to the terminal device 110 is clear.
[0124] In some embodiments, there is no requirement (determine the known / unknown status) when the UE is requested to switch to a pair of TCI states in which at least one TCI state with the higher layer parameter UL-TCIState associated to SRS.
[0125] In the following, how to determine a delay for the at least one TCI state pair will be discussed, where the TCI switch command indicates a TCI state pair.
[0126] In some embodiments, for a known pair of indicated joint / UL TCI states (indicated in the TCI switch command) , for STxMP, the (switch) delay may be determined based on the delay to obtain pathloss (PL) for both TCI states as discussed below.
[0127] In this way, the terminal device 110 and the network device 120 may achieve alignment on when to use the newly indicated pair of joint / UL TCI states for STxMP.
[0128] In some embodiments, if the TCI switch command indicates only one TCI state pair, the terminal device 110 may determine the delay based at least in part on: a first time period required for obtaining pathloss information for the TCI state pair if the TCI state pair is known to the terminal device 110.
[0129] Additionally, in some embodiments, the first time period may be determined based on the maximum or a sum value of: {a time length required for obtaining first pathloss information associated with a first TCI state of the TCI state pair, a time length required for obtaining second pathloss information associated with a second TCI state of the TCI state pair} . In some embodiment, the the first time period may be the maximum or a sum value of: {a time length required for obtaining first pathloss information associated with a first TCI state of the TCI state pair, a time length required for obtaining second pathloss information associated with a second TCI state of the TCI state pair} . Alternatively, the first time period may be a sum value of: {a time length required for obtaining first pathloss information associated with a first TCI state of the TCI state pair, a time length required for obtaining second pathloss information associated with a second TCI state of the TCI state pair} .
[0130] In one specific embodiment, a MAC CE indicates a pair of joint / UL TCI states (i.e., the TCI switch command indicates only one TCI state pair; in this event, after the delay, the indicated TCI state pair may be applied directly) . If the indicated TCI state pair is known, the terminal device 110 may be able to transmit uplink signal with the indicated TCI state pair (i.e., the two joint / UL TCI states simultaneously) in the slot as below:
[0131] where ‘n’ is the slot of receiving the TCI switch command;
[0132] 2ms means 2 milliseconds, and “NR slot length” means a slot length, e.g. for NR.
[0133] THARQ (in slot) is the timing between DL data transmission and acknowledgement;
[0134] is the number of slots per subframe for subcarrier spacing configuration μ;
[0135] Tfirst_target-PL-RS is time to first pathloss RS transmission after MAC CE command (i.e., the TCI switch command) is decoded by the terminal device 110; Tfirst_target-PL-RS, 1, Tfirst_target-PL-RS, 2 are the PL RS 1 and PL RS 2 respectively, which are associated with the first and the second TCI state, respectively;
[0136] Ttarget_PL-RS is the periodicity of the target pathloss reference signal which would be: SSB or NZP CSI-RS when PL-RS is associated with serving cell, or SSB when PL-RS is associated with PCI different from serving cell. Further, Ttarget-PL-RS, 1, Ttarget-PL-RS, 2 are the PL RS 1 and PL RS 2 respectively, which are associated with the first and the second TCI state respectively;
[0137] M, N are scaling factors. For example, M, N can be 1. Or, M, N can be 0 if the pathloss is maintained by the terminal device 110.
[0138] In the above embodiments, max (Tfirst_target-PL-RS, 1 + 4*Ttarget_PL-RS, 1, Tfirst_target-PL-RS,2 + 4*Ttarget_PL-RS, 2) implies that the terminal device 110 may only switch to the pair of TCI states after obtaining pathloss estimate corresponding to both TCI states. Additionally, in the above embodiments, five (e.g., the first and the following 4 times) measurements are needed for pathloss estimate of a PL RS. It should be understood, in other embodiments, the number of measurements may be any other suitable number rather than five.
[0139] Alternatively, in some embodiments, the delay to obtain pathloss for both TCI states might not be the max (Tfirst_target-PL-RS, 1 + 4*Ttarget_PL-RS, 1, Tfirst_target-PL-RS, 2 + 4*Ttarget_PL-RS, 2) , but some other relationship, e.g., a sum of (Tfirst_target-PL-RS, 1 + 4*Ttarget_PL-RS,1, Tfirst_target-PL-RS, 2 + 4*Ttarget_PL-RS, 2) .
[0140] Alternatively, in some embodiments, for an unknown pair of indicated joint / UL TCI states, for STxMP, the (switch) delay may be determined based on the delay to find the two beams (i.e., a beam pair) can be used simultaneously and to obtain pathloss for the beams as discussed below. In this way, the terminal device 110 and the network device 120 may achieve alignment on when to use the newly indicated pair of joint / UL TCI states for STxMP.
[0141] In some embodiments, if the TCI switch command indicates only one TCI state pair and the TCI state pair is unknown to the terminal device 110, the terminal device 110 may determine the delay based at least in part on:
[0142] ● a second time period required for obtaining pathloss information for the TCI state pair, and
[0143] ● a third time period required for determining a beam pair for the TCI state pair.
[0144] Additionally, in some embodiments, if both TCI states comprised in the TCI state pair are unknown to the terminal device 110,
[0145] ● the second time period is determined based on the maximum or a sum value of: {a time length required for obtaining first pathloss information associated with a first TCI state of the TCI state pair, a time length required for obtaining second pathloss information associated with a second TCI state of the TCI state pair} . In some embodiments, the second time period is the maximum of: {a time length required for obtaining first pathloss information associated with a first TCI state of the TCI state pair, a time length required for obtaining second pathloss information associated with a second TCI state of the TCI state pair} ; Alternatibely, in some embodiments, the second time period is a sum of: {a time length required for obtaining first pathloss information associated with a first TCI state of the TCI state pair, a time length required for obtaining second pathloss information associated with a second TCI state of the TCI state pair} , and
[0146] ● the third time period is determined based on the maximum or a sum value of: {a time length for required for determining a first beam associated with a first TCI state of the TCI state pair, a time length for required for determining a second beam associated with a second TCI state of the TCI state pair} ; In some embodiments, the third time period is determined to be the maximum or a sum value of: {a time length for required for determining a first beam associated with a first TCI state of the TCI state pair, a time length for required for determining a second beam associated with a second TCI state of the TCI state pair} .
[0147] Alternatively, in some embodiments, if a first TCI state comprised in the TCI state pair is unknown to the terminal device 110 and a second TCI state comprised in the TCI state pair is known to the terminal device 110,
[0148] ● the second time period is determined based on the maximum or a sum value of: {a time length required for obtaining first pathloss information associated with the first TCI state of the TCI state pair, a time length required for obtaining second pathloss information associated with the second TCI state of the TCI state pair} . In some embodiments, the second time period is determined to be the maximum or a sum value of: {a time length required for obtaining first pathloss information associated with the first TCI state of the TCI state pair, a time length required for obtaining second pathloss information associated with the second TCI state of the TCI state pair} and
[0149] ● the third time period is determined to be a time length for required for determining a second beam associated with the first TCI state of the TCI state pair.
[0150] It can be seen, when determining the delay, in addition to the known / unknown status of the TCI state pair, the known / unknown status of the respective TCI state comprised in the TCI state pair is also needed to be determined. In the following, how to determine whether a TCI state (i.e., one single joint / uplink TCI state) is known to the terminal device 110 will be discussed in detail.
[0151] In some embodiments, the joint / uplink TCI state is determined to be known if the following conditions are met:
[0152] ● During the period from the last transmission of the RS resource used for the L1-RSRP measurement reporting for the indicated joint / uplink TCI state to the completion of active joint / uplink TCI state switch, where the RS resource for L1-RSRP measurement is the RS in indicated joint / uplink TCI state or QCLed to the indicated joint / uplink TCI state;
[0153] ● Uplink TCI state switch command is received within 1280 ms upon the last transmission of the RS resource for beam reporting or measurement;
[0154] ● The UE has sent at least 1 L1-RSRP report for the indicated joint / uplink TCI state before the joint / uplink TCI state switch command.
[0155] In addition to the above condition, the known joint / uplink TCI state also needs below conditions:
[0156] ● the RS configured in indicated joint / uplink TCI state remains detectable during the joint / uplink TCI state switching period; as one example, the SNR of the RS configured in indicated joint / uplink TCI state is larger than or equal to a threshed, such as, -3dB;
[0157] ● The indicated joint / uplink TCI state remains detectable during the joint / uplink TCI state switching period;
[0158] ● The SSB associated with the joint / uplink TCI state remain detectable during the uplink TCI switching period; as one example such as, the SNR of the joint / uplink TCI state is larger than or equal to a threshed, such as, -3dB; additionally, the SSB may be associated with either the serving cell PCI or a PCI different from serving cell PCI.
[0159] In some embodiments, a MAC CE indicates a pair of joint / UL TCI states (i.e., the TCI switch command indicates only one TCI state pair; in this event, after the delay, the indicated TCI state pair may be applied directly) . In this event, if the indicated TCI state pair is unknown, the terminal device 110 may be able to transmit uplink signal with the indicated TCI state pair (i.e., the two joint / UL TCI states simultaneously) in the slot as below:
[0160] where ‘n’ is the slot of receiving the TCI switch command;
[0161] THARQ (in slot) is the timing between DL data transmission and acknowledgement;
[0162] is the number of slots per subframe for subcarrier spacing configuration μ;
[0163] Ttarget_PL-RS is the periodicity of the target pathloss reference signal which would be: SSB or NZP CSI-RS when PL-RS is associated with serving cell, or SSB when PL-RS is associated with PCI different from serving cell. Further, Ttarget-PL-RS, 1, Ttarget-PL-RS, 2 are the PL RS 1 and PL RS 2 respectively, which are associated with the first and the second TCI state, respectively,
[0164] Tfirst_target-PL-RS is time to first pathloss RS transmission after MAC CE command (i.e., the TCI switch command) is decoded by the terminal device 110; Tfirst_target-PL-RS, 1, Tfirst_target-PL-RS, 2 are the PL RS 1 and PL RS 2 respectively, which are associated with the first and the second TCI state, respectively;
[0165] TL1-RSRP is the time for beam refinement in frequency range 2 (FR2) ;
[0166] in some embodiments, TL1-RSRP may be defined as the time required to find a pair of beams can be used simultaneously;
[0167] Alternatively, TL1-RSRP may be replaced by max (TL1-RSRP, 1, TL1-RSRP, 2) where TL1-RSRP, 1, TL1-RSRP, 2 are associated with the first and the second TCI state respectively. The suitable case may include that both TCI states are unknown.
[0168] Alternatively, T L1-RSRP may be replaced by TL1-RSRP, 1, or, TL1-RSRP, 2. The suitable case may include that only a subset of (i.e., one of) TCI states are unknown.
[0169] In the above embodiments, max (Tfirst_target-PL-RS, 1 + 4*Ttarget_PL-RS, 1, Tfirst_target-PL-RS,2 + 4*Ttarget_PL-RS, 2) implies that the terminal device 110 may only switch to the pair of TCI states after obtaining pathloss estimate corresponding to both TCI states. Additionally, in the above embodiments, five (e.g., the first and the following 4 times) measurements are needed for pathloss estimate of a PL RS. In should be understood, in other embodiments, the number of measurements may be any other suitable number rather than five.
[0170] Alternatively, in some embodiments, the delay to obtain pathloss for both TCI states might not be the max (Tfirst_target-PL-RS, 1 + 4*Ttarget_PL-RS, 1, Tfirst_target-PL-RS, 2 +4*Ttarget_PL-RS, 2) , but some other relationship, e.g., a sum of (Tfirst_target-PL-RS, 1 + 4*Ttarget_PL-RS,1, Tfirst_target-PL-RS, 2 + 4*Ttarget_PL-RS, 2) .
[0171] In some embodiments, the the terminal device 110 shall be able to transmit with the old / default UL TCI state until slot
[0172] Alternatively, or in addition, in some embodiments, if only a subset of (i.e., one of) TCI states are unknown, STxMP transmission is reduced to STRP transmission with the known joint / UL TCI state, or, UE can omit the STxMP transmission. If so, upon reception of PDSCH carrying MAC-CE activation command in slot n on serving cell if target TCI state is known, the terminal device 110 shall be able to transmit uplink signal with the target TCI state in the slot as below:
[0173] -If target TCI state is unknown, the terminal device 110 shall be able to transmit uplink signal with the target TCI state in the slot as below:
[0174] in some embodiments,
[0175] ● THARQ (in slot) is the timing between DL data transmission and acknowledgement;
[0176] ● NM = 1, if the target PL-RS is not maintained by the UE, 0 otherwise.
[0177] ● is the number of slots per subframe for subcarrier spacing configuration μ; ● Tfirst_target-PL-RS is time to first pathloss RS transmission after L1-RSRP measurement when target TCI state is unknown;
[0178] ● Tfirst_target-PL-RS is time to first pathloss RS transmission after MAC CE command is decoded by the UE for known TCI state;
[0179] ● Ttarget_PL-RS is the periodicity of the target pathloss reference signal which would be SSB or NZP CSI-RS when PL-RS is associated with serving cell;
[0180] ● Ttarget_PL-RS is the periodicity of the target pathloss reference signal which would be SSB when PL-RS is associated with PCI different from serving cell;
[0181] ● T L1-RSRP is the time for Rx beam refinement in FR2.
[0182] In the following, how to determine a delay in case that the TCI switch command indicates a list of TCI state pairs will be discussed.
[0183] In some embodiments, if the at least one TCI state pair comprises a list of TCI state pairs and all of the TCI state pairs comprised in the list of TCI state pairs are known to the terminal device 110, the terminal device 110 may determine the delay based on a fourth time period required for obtaining pathloss information for the list of TCI state pairs.
[0184] In some embodiments, the list of TCI state pairs corresponds to a list of first time lengths, each first time length corresponding a duration required for obtaining pathloss information for a corresponding TCI state pair. In this event, the fourth time period may be determined based on the maximum or a sum value of the list of first time lengths. For example, the fourth time period may be determined to be the maximum or a sum value of the list of first time lengths.
[0185] In some embodiments, the MAC CE activates more than one pair of joint / UL TCI states (i.e., there is a list TCI state pair) . If all pairs of joint / UL TCI states in the active TCI state pair list are known, upon reception of PDSCH carrying MAC-CE active TCI state pair list update at slot n, UE shall be able to transmit PUCCH, PUSCH or SRS with the new pair of joint / UL TCI states at the first slot that is after a slot as below:
[0186] where ‘n’ is the slot of receiving the TCI switch command;
[0187] THARQ (in slot) is the timing between DL data transmission and acknowledgement;
[0188] is the number of slots per subframe for subcarrier spacing configuration μ.
[0189] In some embodiments, Tfirst_target-PL-RS_List = Tfirst_target-PL-RS_SC + min (Ttarget-PL-RS_SC, Ttarget-PL-RS_CDP) ; Alternatively, Tfirst_target-PL-RS_List = max (Tfirst_target-PL-RS_SC, Tfirst_target-PL-RS_CDP) ; Alternatively, Tfirst_target-PL-RS_List = Tfirst_target-PL-RS_SC.
[0190] In some embodiments, Tfirst_target-PL-RS_SC is Tfirst_target-PL-RS or, max (Tfirst_target-PL-RS,1, Tfirst_target-PL-RS, 2) for serving cell.
[0191] Alternatively, in some embodiments, Tfirst_target-PL-RS_CDP is Tfirst_target-PL-RS or, max (Tfirst_target-PL-RS, 1, Tfirst_target-PL-RS, 2) for cell with different PCI from serving cell.
[0192] In some embodiments, Ttarget-PL-RS_List = 2 *Ttarget-PL-RS_SC, if Ttarget-PL-RS_SC =Ttarget-PL-RS_CDP.
[0193] Alternatively, in some embodiments, Ttarget-PL-RS_List = max (Ttarget-PL-RS_SC, Ttarget-PL-RS_CDP) , if Ttarget-PL-RS_SC ≠ Ttarget-PL-RS_CDP.
[0194] Alternatively, in some embodiments, Ttarget-PL-RS_List = max (Ttarget-PL-RS_SC , Ttarget-PL-RS_CDP) .
[0195] Alternatively, in some embodiments, Ttarget-PL-RS_List = Ttarget-PL-RS_SC.
[0196] In some embodiments, Ttarget-PL-RS_SC is Ttarget-PL-RS or, max (Ttarget_PL-RS, 1, Ttarget_PL-RS, 2) for serving cell.
[0197] In some embodiments, Ttarget-PL-RS_CDP is Ttarget-PL-RS or, max (Ttarget_PL-RS, 1, Ttarget_PL-RS, 2) for cell with different PCI from serving cell.
[0198] In some embodiments, if the at least one TCI state pair comprises a list of TCI state pairs and a subset of the list of TCI state pairs are unknown to the terminal device 110, the terminal device 110 may determine the delay based on:
[0199] ● a fifth time period required for obtaining pathloss information for the list of TCI state pairs, and
[0200] ● a sixth time period required for determining a set of beam pairs for the subset of the list of TCI state pairs.
[0201] In some embodiments, the list of TCI state pairs corresponds to a list of second time lengths, where each second time length corresponds a duration required for obtaining pathloss information for a corresponding TCI state pair. In this event, the fifth time period may be determined based on the maximum or a sum value of the list of second time lengths. For example, the fifth time period may be determined to be the maximum or a sum value of the list of second time lengths.
[0202] In some embodiments, the subset of the list of TCI state pairs corresponds to a set of third time lengths, where each third time length corresponds to a duration required for determining a beam pair for a corresponding TCI state pair. In this event, the sixth time period may be determined based on the maximum or a sum value of the set of third time lengths. For example. the sixth time period may be determined to be the maximum or a sum value of the set of third time lengths.
[0203] In some embodiments, if the at least one TCI state pair comprises a list of TCI state pairs and if a subset of joint / UL TCI states in the active TCI state pair list are unknown, upon reception of PDSCH carrying MAC-CE active TCI state pair list update at slot n, UE shall be able to transmit PUCCH, PUSCH or SRS with the new pair of joint / UL TCI states at the first slot that is after a slot as below:
[0204] where ‘n’ is the slot of receiving the TCI switch command;
[0205] THARQ (in slot) is the timing between DL data transmission and acknowledgement;
[0206] is the number of slots per subframe for subcarrier spacing configuration μ;
[0207] TL1-RSRP_List the longest L1 measurement time (TL1-RSRP) of the RS resources among the unknown of joint / UL TCI states pair. In some embodiments, T L1-RSRP is the time for beam refinement in FR2, which can be defined as the time required to find a pair of beams can be used simultaneously. Alternatively, T L1-RSRP may be replaced by max (TL1-RSRP, 1, TL1-RSRP, 2) , TL1-RSRP, 1, or, TL1-RSRP, 2 where TL1-RSRP, 1, TL1-RSRP, 2 are associated with the first and the second TCI state respectively.
[0208] In some embodiments, Ttarget-PL-RS_List = 2 *Ttarget-PL-RS_SC, if Ttarget-PL-RS_SC =Ttarget-PL-RS_CDP.
[0209] Alternatively, in some embodiments, Ttarget-PL-RS_List = max (Ttarget-PL-RS_SC, Ttarget-PL-RS_CDP) , if Ttarget-PL-RS_SC ≠ Ttarget-PL-RS_CDP.
[0210] Alternatively, in some embodiments, Ttarget-PL-RS_List = max (Ttarget-PL-RS_SC , Ttarget-PL-RS_CDP) .
[0211] Alternatively, in some embodiments, Ttarget-PL-RS_List = Ttarget-PL-RS_SC.
[0212] In some embodiments, Ttarget-PL-RS_SC is Ttarget-PL-RS or, max (Ttarget_PL-RS, 1, Ttarget_PL-RS, 2) for serving cell.
[0213] In some embodiments, Ttarget-PL-RS_CDP is Ttarget-PL-RS or, max (Ttarget_PL-RS, 1, Ttarget_PL-RS, 2) for cell with different PCI from serving cell.
[0214] In some embodiments, if all joint / UL TCI states in the active TCI state pair list are unknown, the terminal device 110 is not required to complete the UL beam switch and UE may need to provide information to NW to re-activate the pairs (s) of joint / UL TCI states for STxMP.
[0215] In some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that the at least one TCI state pair only comprises one TCI state pair, the terminal device 110 may apply 240 the TCI state pair indicated in the TCI switch command after the first slot after the delay upon reception of the TCI switch command.
[0216] In some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that the at least one TCI state pair comprises a list of TCI state pairs, the terminal device 110 may apply 240 a TCI state pair comprised in the list of TCI state pairs after the first slot after the delay upon reception of the TCI switch command.
[0217] In some embodiments, if none of the pairs of TCI states indicated in the TCI switch command is known to the terminal device 110, the terminal device 110 may perform at least one of the following:
[0218] ● ignoring the TCI switch command, or
[0219] ● transmitting, to the network device 120, a message used for deactivating the at least one TCI state pair.
[0220] Similarly, in some embodiments, if none of the pairs of TCI states indicated in the TCI switch command supports to be applied simultaneously, the terminal device 110 may perform at least one of the following:
[0221] ● ignoring the TCI switch command, or
[0222] ● transmitting, to the network device 120, a message used for deactivating the at least one TCI state pair.
[0223] In other words, the terminal device 110 may provide information / message to the network device 120 to re-activate the pairs (s) of joint / UL TCI states for STxMP. Additionally, such information may be transmitted via a beam report, negative acknowledgement (NACK) feedback, or any other suitable uplink signalling.
[0224] Example processes discussed with reference to FIG. 3
[0225] In some cases, the terminal device 110 may apply the TCI state indicated in the configuration (i.e., RRC signalling) without waiting for further TCI switch command (MAC CE) . Such processes will be discussed in the following.
[0226] In some embodiments, after a terminal device 110 receives an initial higher layer configuration of dl-OrJointTCI-StateList with more than one TCI-State and before application of an indicated TCI state from the configured TCI states, the terminal device 110 assumes that DM-RS of PDSCH and DM-RS of PDCCH and the CSI-RS applying the indicated TCI state are quasi co-located with the SS / PBCH block the terminal device 110identified during the initial access procedure.
[0227] In some embodiments, after a terminal device 110 receives an initial higher layer configuration of dl-OrJointTCI-StateList with more than one TCI-State or ul-TCI-StateList with more than one TCI-UL-State and before application of an indicated TCI state from the configured TCI states, the terminal device 110 may assume that the UL TX spatial filter, if applicable, for dynamic-grant and configured-grant based PUSCH and PUCCH, and for SRS applying the indicated TCI state, is the same as that for a PUSCH transmission scheduled by a random access response (RAR) UL grant during the initial access procedure.
[0228] In some embodiments, after a terminal device 110 receives a higher layer configuration of dl-OrJointTCI-StateList with more than one TCI-State as part of a Reconfiguration with sync and before applying an indicated TCI state from the configured TCI states, the terminal device 110 may assume that Demodulation Reference Signal (DM-RS) of PDSCH and DM-RS of PDCCH, and the CSI-RS applying the indicated TCI state are quasi co-located with the SS / PBCH block or the CSI-RS resource the terminal device 110 identified during the random access procedure initiated by the Reconfiguration with sync procedure.
[0229] In some embodiments, after a terminal device 110 receive a higher layer configuration of dl-OrJointTCI-StateList with more than one TCI-State or ul-TCI-StateList with more than one TCI-UL-State as part of a Reconfiguration with sync procedure and before applying an indicated TCI state from the configured TCI states, the terminal device 110 may assume that the UL TX spatial filter, if applicable, for dynamic-grant and configured-grant based PUSCH and PUCCH, and for SRS applying the indicated TCI state, is the same as that for a PUSCH transmission scheduled by a RAR UL grant during random access procedure initiated by the Reconfiguration with sync procedure.
[0230] In some embodiments, if a terminal device 110 receives a higher layer configuration of dl-OrJointTCI-StateList with a single TCI-State, that may be used as an indicated TCI state, the terminal device 110 may obtain the QCL assumptions from the configured TCI state for DM-RS of PDSCH and DM-RS of PDCCH, and the CSI -RS applying the indicated TCI state.
[0231] In some embodiments, if a terminal device 110 receives a higher layer configuration of dl-OrJointTCI-StateList with a single TCI-State or ul-TCI-StateList with a single TCI-UL-State, that may be used as an indicated TCI state, the terminal device 110determines an UL TX spatial filter, if applicable, from the configured TCI state for dynamic-grant and configured-grant based PUSCH and PUCCH, and SRS applying the indicated TCI state.
[0232] According to the above discussions, it can be seen that, if the RRC signalling only provides one TCI state, it can be used directly, without further activation / indication, otherwise, terminal device 110 must follow SSB / physical random access channel (PRACH) used during latest initial access or random access until receiving activation / indication. However, the above procedure may be applied for non-STxMP scenario.
[0233] Reference is now made to FIG. 3, which illustrates a signaling flow 300 of communication in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0234] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 receives 310 configuration information from the network device 120, where the configuration information indicates at least one transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state configured for the terminal device 110.
[0235] In some embodiments, if the at least one TCI state comprises one TCI state, the terminal device 110 may expect not to be configured with a transmission scheme in which more than one TCI state is applied simultaneously.
[0236] In some embodiments, if the at least one TCI state comprises two TCI states and the terminal device 110 is configured with the transmission scheme, the terminal device 110 may expect the two TCI states support to be applied simultaneously.
[0237] In some embodiments, if the at least one TCI state comprises more than two TCI states, the terminal device 110 may apply default uplink transmitter spatial filter before receiving a TCI activation command.
[0238] Alternatibely, if the at least one TCI state comprises two TCI states, the terminal device 110 may apply the two TCI states (without waiting for TCI activation / switch command, MAC CE) if one of the following:
[0239] ● the two TCI states are indicated to support being applied simultaneously, or
[0240] ● the two TCI states are associated with different timing advance groups (TAGs) .
[0241] In other words, if STxMP is configured and when only two TCI states are configured and they are used for transmission simultaneously, the terminal device 110 can apply the two TCI states simultaneously for the UL transmission without receiving MAC CE activation command. In this way, the signalling overhead is reduced.
[0242] Alternatively, or in addition, if the two TCI states are joint / DL TCI states, they can be used without further activation.
[0243] In some embodiments, if the terminal device 110 is configured with parameter “tag-Id2” , two TAGs are configured. Further, parameter “tag-Id2” provides the second TAG ID configured for the serving cell, and the value of parameter “tag-Id2” is (0.. maxNrofTAGs-1) .
[0244] In some embodiments, parameter “tag-Id-ptr” is configured in joint / UL TCI state, and parameter “tag-Id-ptr” is used to associate a TAG ID with a joint / UL TCI state and the value of parameter “tag-Id-ptr” is 0 or 1, i.e., local index or relative index of two TAGs.
[0245] In some embodiments, if only two TCI states are configured and they can be used simultaneously, the terminal device 110 can apply the two TCI states STxMP without receiving MAC CE activation command.
[0246] Specifically, if a the terminal device 110 receives a higher layer configuration of dl-OrJointTCI-StateList with two TCI-State or ul-TCI-StateList with two TCI-UL-State, that can be used as an indicated TCI state, the UE determines an UL TX spatial filter, if applicable, from the configured TCI states for dynamic-grant and configured-grant based PUSCH and PUCCH, applying the indicated TCI states simultaneously, and for SRS applying the first or second indicated joint / UL TCI state according to applyIndicatedTCIState-r18 or associated coresetPoolIndex value 0, respectively.
[0247] Alternatively, if the terminal device 110 receives a higher layer configuration of dl-OrJointTCI-StateList with a single TCI-State or ul-TCI-StateList with a single TCI-UL-State, UE does not expect that STxMP is configured, or, “SRS resource set indictor field” in DCI format 0_1 / 0_2 can be not “11” .
[0248] As one embodiments, in case of M-DCI, if the number of TCI-State in dl-OrJointTCI-StateList or the number of TCI-UL-State in ul-TCI-StateList is 2, two TAs are configured, and each of the two joint / UL TCI states contains a different value of tag-Id-ptr.
[0249] In some embodiments, if two TAs are configured, and, if only two TCI states are configured and they are associated with different TAGs, the terminal device 110 can apply the two TCI states respectively for the UL transmission associated with different CORESETPoolIndex according to the two TCI states without receiving MAC CE activation command. In this event, the two TCI states can be used by the terminal device 110 without further activation.
[0250] In some embodiments, if the terminal device 110receives a higher layer configuration of dl-OrJointTCI-StateList with two TCI-State associated with different values of tag-Id-ptr or ul-TCI-StateList with two TCI-UL-State associated with different values of tag-Id-ptr, that can be used as an indicated TCI state (s) .
[0251] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 determines an UL TX spatial filter, if applicable, from the configured TCI state for dynamic-grant and configured-grant based PUSCH and PUCCH, and SRS associated with the CORESETs associated with CORESETPoolIndex = 0 applying the indicated TCI state associated with tag-Id-ptr=0.
[0252] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 determines an UL TX spatial filter, if applicable, from the configured TCI state for dynamic-grant and configured-grant based PUSCH and PUCCH, and SRS associated with the CORESETs associated with CORESETPoolIndex = 1 applying the indicated TCI state associated with tag-Id-ptr=1.
[0253] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 determines an UL TX spatial filter, if applicable, from the configured TCI state for dynamic-grant and configured-grant based PUSCH and PUCCH, and SRS associated with the CORESETs associated with CORESETPoolIndex = 0 applying the indicated TCI state associated with tag-Id-ptr=1.
[0254] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 determines an UL TX spatial filter, if applicable, from the configured TCI state for dynamic-grant and configured-grant based PUSCH and PUCCH, and SRS associated with the CORESETs associated with CORESETPoolIndex = 1 applying the indicated TCI state associated with tag-Id-ptr=0.
[0255] In addition, if STxMP is also configured, the two indicated TCI states need to be used simultaneously.
[0256] As an alternative, STxMP and two TA cannot be configured simultaneously, which can also be used to avoid the timing issue especially for STxMP SDM transmission. In other word, if the at least one TCI state comprises two TCI states and the two TCI states are associated with different TAGs, the terminal device 110 may expect not to be configured with the STxMP transmission.
[0257] In some embodiments, UE capability may indicate that the terminal device 110 expects that UL / joint TCI states associated to one CORESETPoolIndex correspond to one TAG, i.e., a pair of UL / joint TCI states for STxMP shall be associated with different TAGs.
[0258] In the following, how to determine the TA value for a sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission will be discussed. Specifically, the terminal device 110 may determine 340 a TA value, and then apply 350 the determined TA value to the SRS transmission.
[0259] In some embodiments, if the terminal device 110 is configured with a first timing advance group (TAG) and a second TAG and configured with a first SRS resource set and a second SRS resource set, the terminal device 110 may:
[0260] ● associate a first timing advance (TA) value of the first TAG with the first SRS resource set, and
[0261] ● associate a second TA value of the second TAG with the second SRS resource set.
[0262] In some embodiments, upon reception of a timing advance command for a TAG, the terminal device 110 may adjust uplink timing for PUSCH / SRS / PUCCH transmission associated with the TAG on all the serving cells in the TAG based on a value that the terminal device 110 expects to be same for all the serving cells in the TAG and based on the received timing advance command where the uplink timing for PUSCH / SRS / PUCCH transmissions associated with the TAG is the same for all the serving cells in the TAG.
[0263] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 be provided a value of a timing advance offset for a serving cell by n-TimingAdvanceOffset for the serving cell. If for a serving cell the terminal device 110 is provided two coresetPoolIndex values 0 and 1 for first and second CORESETs, or is not provided coresetPoolIndex value for first CORESETs and is provided coresetPoolIndex value of 1 for second CORESETs, the UE can be provided first and second values by n-TimingAdvanceOffset and n-TimingAdvanceOffset2 for transmissions with TCI states associated with the first and second CORESETs, respectively.
[0264] The first and second values correspond to first and second TAGs having an association indicated by tag-Id-ptr with first and second joint TCI states provided by dl-OrJointTCI-StateList or first and second UL TCI states provided by ul-TCI-State-List.
[0265] Regarding the association among the TA (s) / TAG (s) and the second SRS resource set, in some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may perform an SRS transmission for a first SRS resource set by applying the first TA value if one of the following:
[0266] ● a first TCI state associated with the first TAG is indciated, or
[0267] ● a control resource set (CORESET) pool index of a CORSET is set to be a first index, the first index being associated with the first TAG.
[0268] Alternatively, in some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may perform an SRS transmission for a second SRS resource set by applying the second TA value if one of the following:
[0269] ● a second TCI state associated with the second TAG is indciated, or
[0270] ● a control resource set (CORESET) pool index of a CORSET is set to be a second index, the second index being associated with the second TAG.
[0271] In some embodiments, if the terminal device 110 is configured with two timing advance groups (TAGs) and one sounding reference signal (SRS) resource set, the terminal device 110 may apply a timing advance (TA) value of one of the two TAGs to a sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission based on at least of the following:
[0272] ● a control resource set (CORESET) pool index of a CORSET associated with a control information used for triggering the SRS transmission,
[0273] ● a TCI state associated with the control information,
[0274] ● an indicated TCI state configured for the SRS resource, or
[0275] ● an indicated TCI state for the SRS transmission.
[0276] For a better understanding, some example embodiments are discussed as below. In short, a TA value applied to an SRS transmission may be determined based on associated CORESETPoolIndex, first or second indicated TCI states or the triggering PDCCH. In this way, the TA value applied to an SRS transmission may be determined correctly.
[0277] In some embodiments, two periodic, semi-persistent or aperiodic SRS resource sets are configured, usage = “codebook” , “noncodebook” and other usage.
[0278] In some embodiments, one aperiodic SRS resource set is configured, usage = “beammanagement” , “antennaswitching” or any other suitable usages. In this event, the first and the second indicated joint / UL TCI states correspond to the indicated joint / UL TCI states specific to coresetPoolIndex value 0 and value 1, respectively.
[0279] In some embodiments, the SRS resource set may be configured to follow a unified TCI state, for example, via followUnifiedTCI-StateSRS or applyIndicatedTCIState. Alternatively, in some embodiments, the SRS resource (s) in an SRS resource set may be configured with UL / Joint TCI state.
[0280] In some embodiments, for S-DCI, UE may be configured by higher layer parameter applyIndicatedTCIState to the SRS resource set to indicate whether the UE shall apply the first or the second indicated joint / UL TCI state to the SRS resource set. Although in this release two-TA is only for M-DCI, but we don’t need this restriction.
[0281] In some embodiments, the aperiodic SRS resource set is triggered by PDCCH on a CORESET associated with a coresetPoolIndex value, the UE shall apply the indicated TCI-State or TCI-UL-State specific to the coresetPoolIndex value to the aperiodic SRS resource set.
[0282] Alternatively, only the first TAG is applied for the SRS transmission for the SRS resource set with usage = “beammanagement” , “antennaswitching” , SRS configured in SRS-PosResource for positioning use, or any other suitable usages.
[0283] In summary, the TA applied for SRS transmission is determined based on CORESETPoolIndex or the first / second TCI state. In case of two SRS resource sets, the UE adjusts uplink timing for SRS transmission for the first SRS resource set with usage “codebook” or “noncodebook” applying the first TA based on a value NTA, offset and based on the received timing advance command for the first TAG indicated in the first indicated joint / UL TCI state or being associated with a coresetPoolIndex = 0, and for SRS transmission for the second SRS resource set with usage “codebook” or “noncodebook” applying the second TA based on a value NTA, offset and based on the received timing advance command for the second TAG indicated in the second indicated joint / UL TCI state or being associated with a coresetPoolIndex = 1. In case of two SRS resource set.
[0284] In case of one SRS resource set, the UE adjusts uplink timing for SRS transmission for the SRS resource set with usage “beammanagement” or “antennaswitching” being triggered by PDCCH on a CORESET associated with a coresetPoolIndex = 0 applying the first TA based on a value NTA, offset and based on the received timing advance command for the first TAG, and for the SRS resource set with usage “beammanagement” or “antennaswitching” being triggered by PDCCH on a CORESET associated with a coresetPoolIndex = 1 applying the second TA based on a value NTA, offset and based on the received timing advance command for the second TAG.
[0285] Processes of enhanced configurations
[0286] In some embodiments, it may be expected that the CSI-RS resource configured with applyIndicatedTCIState-r18 cannot be used as reference signals in joint / DL TCI states as discussed below. In this way, self-reference for determine QCL assumption may be prevented.
[0287] In some embodiments, the CSI-RS resource configured with applyIndicatedTCIState-r18 cannot be used as reference signals in joint / DL TCI states.
[0288] Additionally, in some embodiments, the parameter (e.g., name as applyIndicatedTCIState-r18 (or followUnifiedTCI-State) ) is used to inform the UE shall apply the first or the second indicated joint / DL TCI states to an aperiodic CSI-RS resource or an aperiodic CSI-RS resource set. For M-DCI based MTRP operation, the first and the second indicated joint / DL TCI states correspond to the indicated joint / DL TCI states specific to coresetPoolIndex value 0 and value 1, respectively.
[0289] In some embodiments, ‘per CSI-RS resource set’ or ‘per CSI-RS resource’ RRC configuration is up to UE capability
[0290] In some embodiments, if there are more than one Resource Groups for a CSI-RS resource set, the applyIndicatedTCIState-r18 can only be configured ‘per CSI-RS resource’ , which applies for non-coherent joint transmission (NCJT) CSI.
[0291] In some embodiments, parameter applyIndicatedTCIState-r18 cannot be configured for a CSI-RS resource set with “repetition” = off.
[0292] In some embodiments, parameter applyIndicatedTCIState-r18 cannot be configured for a CSI-RS resource set for interference measurement, or cannot be configured with a different value other than the association CSI-RS resource for channel measurement.
[0293] In some embodiments, it may be expected that the SRS resource configured with applyIndicatedTCIState-r18 cannot be used as reference signals in joint / UL TCI states.
[0294] In some embodiments, SRS resource configured with applyIndicatedTCIState- r18 cannot be used as reference signals in joint / UL TCI states as discussed below. In this way, self-reference for determine QCL assumption may be prevented.
[0295] In some embodiments, parameter applyIndicatedTCIState-r18 is used to inform the UE shall apply the first or the second indicated joint / UL TCI states to an SRS resource set. For M-DCI based MTRP operation, the first and the second indicated joint / UL TCI states correspond to the indicated joint / UL TCI states specific to coresetPoolIndex value 0 and value 1, respectively.
[0296] Alternatively, or in addition, for STxMP, two indicated joint / UL TCI states cannot contain reference RS associated CSI-RS resources / resource sets configured with the same applyIndicatedTCIState-r18 value.
[0297] Example methods
[0298] FIG. 4 illustrates a flowchart of a communication method 400 implemented at a terminal device in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the method 400 will be described from the perspective of the terminal device 110 in FIG. 1.
[0299] At block 410, the terminal device receives, from a network device, configuration information indicating at least one transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state configured for the terminal device.
[0300] At block 420, the terminal device receives, a TCI switch command indicating at least one TCI state pair, wherein each TCI state pair comprises two TCI states to be applied simultaneously and the two TCI states are comprised in the at least one TCI states.
[0301] At block 430, the terminal device determines a delay for the at least one TCI state pair based at least in part on a determination about whether the at least one TCI state pair is known to the terminal device.
[0302] In some example embodiments, the processor is further configured to cause the terminal device to: determine a TCI state pair of the at least one TCI state pair is known to the terminal device if at least one of the following condition is met: a group-based beam measurement report for the TCI state pair has been transmitted before the TCI switch command is received; or the TCI switch command is received within a predefined period after the last transmission of reference signals associated with the group-based beam measurement report.
[0303] In some example embodiments, if a number of beam pairs found by terminal device is lower than a configured number of beam pairs, the group-based beam measurement report comprises information indicating failing to find one or more beam pairs.
[0304] In some example embodiments, in accordance with a determination that the at least one TCI state pair only comprises one TCI state pair, the terminal device may apply the TCI state pair indicated in the TCI switch command after the first slot after the delay upon reception of the TCI switch command, or in accordance with a determination that the at least one TCI state pair comprises a list of TCI state pairs, apply a TCI state pair comprised in the list of TCI state pairs after the first slot after the delay upon reception of the TCI switch command.
[0305] In some example embodiments, in accordance with a determination that the at least one TCI state pair only comprises one TCI state pair, the terminal device may determine the delay based at least in part on a first time period required for obtaining pathloss information for the TCI state pair if the TCI state pair is known to the terminal device.
[0306] In some example embodiments, the first time period is determined based on the maximum or a sum value of: {a time length required for obtaining first pathloss information associated with a first TCI state of the TCI state pair, a time length required for obtaining second pathloss information associated with a second TCI state of the TCI state pair} .
[0307] In some example embodiments, in accordance with a determination that the at least one TCI state pair comprises one TCI state pair and the TCI state pair is unknown to the terminal device, the terminal device may determine the delay based at least in part on the following: a second time period required for obtaining pathloss information for the TCI state pair, and a third time period required for determining a beam pair for the TCI state pair.
[0308] In some example embodiments, if both TCI states comprised in the TCI state pair are unknown to the terminal device, the second time period is determined based on the maximum or a sum value of: {a time length required for obtaining first pathloss information associated with a first TCI state of the TCI state pair, a time length required for obtaining second pathloss information associated with a second TCI state of the TCI state pair} , and the third time period is determined based on the maximum or a sum value of: {a time length for required for determining a first beam associated with a first TCI state of the TCI state pair, a time length for required for determining a second beam associated with a second TCI state of the TCI state pair} .
[0309] In some example embodiments, if a first TCI state comprised in the TCI state pair is unknown to the terminal device and a second TCI state comprised in the TCI state pair is known to the terminal device, the second time period is determined based on the maximum or a sum value of: {a time length required for obtaining first pathloss information associated with the first TCI state of the TCI state pair, a time length required for obtaining second pathloss information associated with the second TCI state of the TCI state pair} , and the third time period is determined to be a time length for required for determining a second beam associated with the first TCI state of the TCI state pair.
[0310] In some example embodiments, in accordance with a determination that the at least one TCI state pair comprises a list of TCI state pairs and all of the TCI state pairs comprised in the list of TCI state pairs are known to the terminal device, the terminal device may determine the delay based on a fourth time period required for obtaining pathloss information for the list of TCI state pairs.
