[0002] Currently, backlight modules and display devices must meet design requirements for use, requiring different display functions on the same display surface. Therefore, the screens must be spliced together to achieve different display functions. Therefore, the backlight modules must also be spliced together. This allows the light output of different light guide plates to be controlled, thereby allowing the two screens to achieve different functions. At the same time, adjacent light guide plates must be separated by a barrier to prevent light from interfering with each other and affecting the lighting effect.

[0003] In view of this, it is necessary to provide a partition structure with a light-shielding function to solve the light interference problem of multiple screens in the backlight module.

[0004] Summary of the Invention

[0005] The purpose of the present invention is to provide a backlight module having at least one partition on a back panel, and utilizing the back panel and the partition to form a plurality of accommodating spaces to prevent the partition from leaking light from the side of the light guide plate, and to distinguish the two light guide plates supported on the back panel, so as to achieve the purpose of narrow frame and optical taste.

[0006] A second object of the present invention is to provide a display device that can include the aforementioned backlight module to achieve the goals of narrow frame and good optical quality.

[0007] In order to achieve the above-mentioned objectives, the present invention provides a backlight module, comprising: a back panel; at least one partition fixed to the back panel, the back panel and the partition together forming a plurality of accommodating spaces, and the accommodating spaces are arranged along a horizontal axis; a plurality of light guide plates, respectively arranged in the accommodating spaces, and arranged on the back panel along a longitudinal axis, the longitudinal axis being parallel to the thickness direction of the light guide plates; and a plurality of light-emitting elements, adjacently arranged on the light guide plates; wherein the partition has at least one main body, the main body extending along the longitudinal axis, and the two ends of the main body having a first extension portion and a second extension portion extending along the horizontal axis and in opposite directions respectively.

[0008] The present invention provides a display device, comprising: the aforementioned backlight module; and a display panel disposed in front of the backlight module.

[0009] In some embodiments, the width of the second extension portion is greater than the width of the first extension portion, and the second extension portion has at least one fixing hole, and a fixing member is used to fix the back plate and the fixing hole of the separator.

[0024] The embodiments of the present invention are described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. The accompanying drawings are primarily simplified schematic diagrams that illustrate the basic structure of the present invention in a schematic manner. Therefore, only components related to the present invention are labeled in these drawings, and the components shown are not drawn based on the number, shape, size ratio, etc. of the components in actual implementation. The specifications and dimensions of the components in actual implementation are actually a selective design, and the component layout may be more complex.

[0025] The following descriptions of the various embodiments refer to the accompanying drawings to illustrate specific embodiments in which the present invention may be implemented. Directional terms mentioned in the present invention, such as "upper," "lower," "front," and "rear," are only used with reference to the directions in the accompanying drawings. Therefore, the directional terms used are intended to illustrate and understand the present application, not to limit the present application. In addition, in the specification, unless expressly stated to the contrary, the word "comprising" will be understood to mean including the stated elements but not excluding any other elements.

[0026] Please refer to FIG. 1 to FIG. 3 , which are a preferred embodiment of the backlight module of the present invention. The backlight module includes a back plate 10 , a plurality of light guide plates 40 and a plurality of light emitting elements.

[0027] The side cross-section of the backlight module is divided into a horizontal axis H and a vertical axis V. At least one partition 20 is fixed to the backplate 10. The backplate 10 and the partition 20 together form a plurality of accommodating spaces 30. These accommodating spaces 30 are arranged along the horizontal axis H. A plurality of light guide plates 40 are respectively disposed in these accommodating spaces 30 and are arranged on the backplate 10 along a vertical axis V. The longitudinal axis V is parallel to the thickness direction of the light guide plates 40. A plurality of light-emitting elements are disposed adjacent to the light guide plates 40. The light-emitting elements and the light guide plates 40 are used to refract light from the backlight module. In this embodiment, the light-emitting elements are located on the other side where the partition 20 is not provided and are not shown.

[0028] The divider 20 comprises at least one main body 21 extending along the longitudinal axis V. The main body 21 has a first extension portion 22 and a second extension portion 23 extending in opposite directions along the transverse axis H at opposite ends. With the divider 20 positioned on the back panel 10, when multiple light guide plates 40 are positioned within the accommodating spaces 30, the divider 20 can serve as a light shielding plate on the sides of two adjacent light guide plates 40, preventing light from the two light guide plates 40 from interfering with each other and affecting the light output. Thus, by utilizing the divider to prevent light leakage from the sides of the light guide plates, the two light guide plates supported on the back panel are separated, thereby maintaining optimal optical quality and a narrower spacing between the side edges of the light guide plates, meeting the requirements of a narrow bezel design while maintaining optimal optical quality.

[0029] Referring to Figures 2 and 3 , in this embodiment, the width W2 of the second extension 23 of the separator 20 along the transverse axis H is greater than the width W1 of the first extension 22, and the second extension 23 has at least one fixing hole 231. A fixing member 80 is used to securely connect the back panel 10 to the fixing hole 231 of the separator 20. The fixing member 80 can be a bolt that penetrates both the fixing hole 231 and the back panel 10, securing the separator 20 to the surface of the back panel 10 via the second extension 23. After the bolt is inserted into the fixing hole 231 and secured to the back panel 10, the height of the bolt is lower than the plane of the second extension 23 facing the light guide plate 40. This prevents the surface of the separator 20 from scratching the surface of the light guide plate 40 after it is assembled and secured to the back panel 10.

[0030] Please refer to Figure 4. In another embodiment, the partition 20 is fixed by providing at least one groove 11 on the back plate 10. The second extension portion 23 extends into the groove 11 and engages in positioning. In this way, the partition 20 can be quickly fixed to the back plate 10 without the need for other fixing parts.

[0031] Please refer to Figure 5. In another embodiment, the partition 20 is fixed in such a manner that the back panel 10 has a supporting surface 12 and a groove 13. The supporting surface 12 is used to support the light guide plate 40. The second extension portion 23 is arranged in the groove 13, and the surface of the second extension portion 23 is coplanar with the supporting surface 12. Therefore, the surface of the second extension portion 23 faces the light guide plate 40 in the same manner as the supporting surface 12 of the back panel 10. The surface of the second extension portion 23 also supports the light guide plate 40. The other surface of the second extension portion 23 can be adhered to the groove 13 by bonding, so that the partition 20 can be fixed to the back panel 10.

[0032] The separator 20 and the back panel 10 can be fixed together in the above-described manner, but the embodiments are not limited thereto. The separator 20 can be quickly fixed to the back panel 10 using the above-described embodiments. Furthermore, since the surface of the light guide plate 40 needs to be carefully protected, as scratches will affect the function of the light guide plate 40, smooth components are preferably used on the surface opposite the light guide plate 40. Therefore, the above-described fixing methods all ensure that the second extension 23 and the surface of the back panel 10 are coplanar, thereby protecting the surface of the light guide plate 40 and reducing damage to its function due to scratches.

[0033] As shown in FIG6 , in another embodiment, the number of the dividers 20 is two, and each divider 20 has multiple main bodies 21 arranged in intervals, such that the main bodies 21 of one divider 20 correspond to the main bodies 21 of another divider 20 and are staggered with each other. This allows the main bodies 21 of two adjacent dividers 20 to support each other, providing greater lateral support strength for the two dividers 20 facing each other and preventing them from buckling and deforming.

[0034] As shown in FIG7 , the back panel 10 of the backlight module further includes at least two opposing side walls 14. Each of the inner surfaces of the two side walls 14 is provided with a positioning groove 141. At least one end of the separator 20 in each of the aforementioned embodiments is fixedly disposed within the positioning groove 141. The positioning groove 141 provides a reference surface for positioning the separator 20 during assembly. This not only allows the separator 20 to be stably positioned on the side walls 14 of the back panel 10, but also allows the accommodation space 30 formed by the separator 20 and the back panel 10 to be used to determine the placement of each light guide plate 40.

[0035] Referring to Figures 3 to 5 , the backlight module of the present invention further includes a plurality of optical films 60 disposed on the light guide plate 40, with the first extension 22 located on at least one of the optical films 60. This ensures that the first extension 22 not only provides a light-shielding effect between the light guide plate 40 and the sides of the optical films 60, but also prevents light emitted from the light-emitting surface of the optical films 60 below the first extension 22 from affecting adjacent light-emitting surfaces. The optical films 60 may include, but are not limited to, a diffuser or a prism.

[0036] In one embodiment, the separator 20 is preferably made of a thin sheet metal that can be bent, such as a thin sheet metal with a thickness of less than 0.3 mm, which can be bent into a Z-shaped separator 20 as in this embodiment. Since the die-cast metal plate must be at least 1.5 mm thick to be formed, if a separator structure is added to the conventional die-cast back plate, not only does it require an additional mold, but it is also impossible to achieve a narrow frame effect due to process limitations, thereby affecting the viewing effect of the entire screen. Therefore, in this embodiment, a sheet metal with a thickness of less than 0.3 mm is bent. Not only does it not require an additional mold, the process is fast and simple, and the separator 20 made of this thin sheet metal can not only effectively block light, but also achieve an extremely narrow frame effect, so that the distance between the two light guide plates 40 can be narrowed, and the connection effect between different display screens can be better.

[0037] Please refer to FIG. 8 , which shows a preferred embodiment of the display device of the present invention, including: a backlight module as described above, and a display panel 70 , wherein the display panel 70 is disposed in front of the backlight module.

[0038] As mentioned above, the backlight module and display device of the present invention utilize a partition 20 that prevents light leakage from the side of the light guide plate 40 to distinguish the two light guide plates 40 placed on the back panel 10, so as to maintain better optical quality and a narrower spacing between the side edges of the light guide plates 40, thereby meeting the requirements of narrow frame design and maintaining better optical quality. For example, the backlight module and display device of the present invention can use a partition 20 made of ultra-thin sheet metal, which can be formed by a simple bending process and does not require an additional mold. In addition to saving production costs, the partition 20 is set between two adjacent light guide plates 40 on the back panel 10, which can effectively block light and prevent the side light of the two light guide plates 40 or the optical film 60 from interfering with each other and affecting the light output effect. It can also achieve the effect of an extremely narrow frame, thereby making the overall display effect of display screens with different display functions better. The backlight module and display device of the present invention can be applied to multi-screen display products, such as automotive displays. In large-size automotive displays, if the display screens of the center console and the instrument panel are integrated into the same display device, the separator 20 of the present invention can be used to separate the light below the center console display screen and the instrument panel display screen without affecting the display effects of the screens on both sides.

[0039] The embodiments disclosed above are merely illustrative of the principles, features, and effects of the present invention and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention. Any person skilled in the art may modify or alter the embodiments described above without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Any equivalent changes or modifications resulting from the present invention are intended to be covered by the claims.
