Abstract
Description
Video storage setting device, video storage setting system, and video storage setting method
[0001] The present invention relates to a video archiving setting device, a video archiving setting system, and a video archiving setting method.
[0002] Conventionally, there is known a technique in which video captured by a camera or the like is stored in a buffer or the like for a certain period of time, and when an accident is detected based on the video, the video stored in the buffer is transferred to a main memory device or the video data is handed over to a control center (see, for example, Patent Documents 1 and 2). With such a technique, if an accident is not detected based on the video, the video information is discarded.
[0003] JP 2003-203290 A, JP 2000-253339 A
[0004] Because the quality of video varies greatly depending on the camera that generates the video, it is sometimes impossible to detect the occurrence of an accident from the video. In such cases, the video is discarded, resulting in a situation where the necessary video information cannot be stored. Furthermore, to grasp the occurrence of an accident more accurately, it is necessary to recognize the accident using various sensors, which requires a complex device configuration.

[0011] [First Exemplary Embodiment] A first exemplary embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. This exemplary embodiment is a basic form of the exemplary embodiments described below. A video storage setting device 10 according to this exemplary embodiment is a device that sets a storage period for acquired video based on a notification from a mobile terminal within a range where the video storage setting device 10 can wirelessly communicate with the device.
[0012] (Configuration of the video storage setting device) The configuration of the video storage setting device 10 according to this exemplary embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 1. Fig. 1 is a block diagram showing the configuration of the video storage setting device 10. As shown in Fig. 1, the video storage setting device 10 includes an acquisition unit 11, a reception unit 12, and a setting unit 13.
[0013] The acquisition unit 11 is an embodiment of an acquisition means set forth in the claims. The reception unit 12 is an embodiment of a reception means set forth in the claims. The setting unit 13 is an embodiment of a setting means set forth in the claims.
[0014] The video storage setting device 10 can receive notifications from a mobile terminal via wireless communication. That is, for example, the video storage setting device 10 can receive notifications from a mobile terminal mounted on a vehicle such as a passenger car, bus, or truck when the mobile terminal is within a range where wireless communication with the video storage setting device 10 is possible. A local 5G network, which is a 5G network that can be used individually by local governments and the like according to local needs, may be used between the video storage setting device 10 and the mobile terminal. Furthermore, Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X), which is communication between a mobile device and an object, may be used between the video storage setting device 10 and the mobile terminal. In addition, various communication technologies such as 4G (LTE), 3G, and Wi-Fi (registered trademark) may be used between the video storage setting device 10 and the mobile terminal.
[0015] Each element of the video storage setting device 10 will be described below.
[0016] The acquisition unit 11 acquires video. In one example, the video acquired by the acquisition unit 11 is video captured from a fixed position. More specifically, the video acquired by the acquisition unit 11 may be video captured by a camera (imaging device) or the like installed at a predetermined position. In another example, the video acquired by the acquisition unit 11 may be video captured from a non-fixed position. More specifically, the video acquired by the acquisition unit 11 may be, for example, video captured by an unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) or an automated guided vehicle (AGV) moving to a predetermined position, or video captured by a surveillance camera having a movable part while oscillating.
[0017] The image acquired by the acquisition unit 11 may be a monochrome image or a color image. In this embodiment, the image is assumed to be an image captured by a visible light camera, but this embodiment is not limited to this. The image may be information acquired by a camera or sensor other than a visible light camera, such as an infrared camera, or may be information recorded together with the image captured by the camera and information from other sensors, etc. The captured image may be transmitted to the acquisition unit 11 by wired communication, wireless communication, or a combination thereof.
[0018] The receiving unit 12 receives notifications from the mobile terminal via wireless communication. That is, the receiving unit 12 receives notifications from a mobile terminal within a range where wireless communication with the video storage setting device 10 is possible. The mobile terminal is mounted on a mobile object. The mobile object can move within a range where wireless communication with the video storage setting device (the receiving unit 12 thereof) is possible. Therefore, when the mobile object moves within a range where wireless communication with the video storage setting device (the receiving unit 12 thereof) is possible, the mobile terminal is located within a range where wireless communication with the video storage setting device is possible. As described above, this wireless communication may be via various communications such as a local 5G network, V2X, 4G (LTE), 3G, or Wi-Fi.
[0019] The setting unit 13 sets a storage period for the video corresponding to the notification based on the notification received from the mobile terminal. The video corresponding to the notification preferably includes a video showing the mobile terminal that sent the notification or a mobile object that has the mobile terminal installed therein, but this is not a limitation of this exemplary embodiment.
[0020] (Effects of the Video Storage Setting Device) The video storage setting device 10 configured as described above can set a storage period for video corresponding to a notification based on a notification received from a mobile terminal via wireless communication. Therefore, the video storage setting device 10 configured as described above can suitably set a storage period for acquired video.
[0021] (Configuration of video storage setting system) The configuration of the video storage setting system 20 according to this exemplary embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 2. Fig. 2 is a block diagram showing the configuration of the video storage setting system 20. As shown in Fig. 2, the video storage setting system 20 includes an acquisition unit 21, a reception unit 22, and a setting unit 23.
[0022] The acquiring unit 21 is an embodiment of the acquiring means set forth in the claims. The receiving unit 22 is an embodiment of the receiving means set forth in the claims. The setting unit 23 is an embodiment of the setting means set forth in the claims.
[0023] The video storage setting system 20 can receive notifications from a mobile terminal via wireless communication. That is, for example, the video storage setting system 20 can receive notifications from a mobile terminal mounted on a vehicle such as a passenger car, bus, or truck when the mobile terminal is within a wireless communication range. A local 5G network or V2X may be used between the video storage setting system 20 and the mobile terminal. In addition, various communication technologies such as 4G (LTE), 3G, and Wi-Fi may be used between the video storage setting system 20 and the mobile terminal.
[0024] Each element of the video storage setting system 20 will be described below.
[0025] The video storage setting system 20 includes an acquisition unit 21, a reception unit 22, and a setting unit 23.
[0026] The acquisition unit 21 acquires video. The video acquired by the acquisition unit 21 is video captured from a predetermined position, and may be video captured by a camera (imaging device) or the like installed at a predetermined position. Note that the imaging device may or may not be fixed.
[0027] The image acquired by the acquisition unit 21 may be a monochrome image or a color image. As described above, the image may be information acquired by a camera or sensor other than a visible light camera, or may be information recorded together with the image captured by the camera and information from other sensors, etc. The image captured from a predetermined position is transmitted to the acquisition unit 21 by wired communication, wireless communication, or a combination thereof.
[0028] The receiving unit 22 receives a notification from the mobile terminal via wireless communication. That is, the receiving unit 12 receives a notification from a mobile terminal within a wireless communication range. When a mobile object moves into a wireless communication range with the video storage setting system 20 (the receiving unit 22), the mobile terminal is placed within a wireless communication range with the video storage setting system 20 (the receiving unit 22). This wireless communication may be via various communications such as a local 5G network, V2X, 4G (LTE), 3G, or Wi-Fi.
[0029] The setting unit 13 sets a storage period for the video corresponding to the notification based on the notification received from the mobile terminal. The video corresponding to the notification preferably includes a video showing the mobile terminal that sent the notification or the mobile terminal, but this is not a limitation of this exemplary embodiment.
[0030] (Effects of the Video Storage Setting System) According to the video storage setting system 20 configured as described above, it is possible to set a storage period for video corresponding to a notification based on a notification received from a mobile terminal via wireless communication. Therefore, according to the video storage setting system 20 configured as described above, it is possible to suitably set a storage period for acquired video.
[0031] (Explanation of Video Storage Setting Method) Fig. 3 is a flow diagram showing the flow of the video storage setting method S1 according to exemplary embodiment 1. As shown in Fig. 3, the video storage setting method S1 according to exemplary embodiment 1 includes steps S101 to S105. Each step of the video storage setting method S1 according to exemplary embodiment 1 is executed by the video storage setting device 10 or the video storage setting system 20.
[0032] (Step S101) The video archiving setting method S1 according to the first exemplary embodiment is started.
[0033] (Step S102) In step S102, the video storage setting method S1 acquires video. The specific content of this step is the same as that mentioned in the description of the acquisition unit 11, and therefore will not be described again here.
[0034] (Step S103) In step S103, the video storage setting method S1 according to exemplary embodiment 1 receives a notification from a mobile terminal via wireless communication. That is, a notification is received from a mobile terminal within a wireless communication range of the video storage setting device 10. The specific content of this step is the same as that mentioned in the description of the receiving unit 12, and therefore will not be described again here.
[0035] (Step S104) In step S104, the video storage setting method S1 according to the exemplary embodiment 1 sets a storage period for the video corresponding to the notification based on the received notification. The setting of the storage period in this exemplary embodiment is similar to that described in the configuration of the setting unit 13, and therefore a description thereof will be omitted.
[0036] (Step S105) The video storage setting method S1 according to the first exemplary embodiment ends.
[0037] (Effects of the Video Storage Setting Method) According to the video storage setting method S1 described above, it is possible to set a storage period for the video corresponding to the notification based on the notification received from the mobile terminal via wireless communication. [0033]
[0034] [Example Embodiment 2] The example embodiment 2 of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. The video storage setting device 40 according to this example embodiment is a device that sets the storage period for acquired video based on a notification from a mobile terminal 45 via wireless communication.
[0039] (Configuration of the video storage setting device) The configuration of the video storage setting device 40 according to this exemplary embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 4. Fig. 4 is a block diagram showing the configuration of the video storage setting device 40. As shown in Fig. 4, the video storage setting device 40 includes an acquisition unit 41, a communication unit 42, and a setting unit 43.
[0040] The acquisition unit 41 is an embodiment of the acquisition means set forth in the claims. The communication unit 42 is an embodiment of the reception means set forth in the claims. The setting unit 43 is an embodiment of the setting means set forth in the claims.
[0041] The video storage setting device 40 can receive notifications from the mobile terminal 45 via wireless communication. That is, for example, the video storage setting device 40 can receive notifications from the mobile terminal 45 when the mobile terminal 45 mounted on a vehicle such as a passenger car, bus, or truck is within a range where wireless communication with the video storage setting device 40 (its communication unit 42) is possible. That is, the communication unit 46 of the mobile terminal 45 and the communication unit 42 of the video storage setting device 40 can communicate via a communication network such as a local 5G network or V2X. In addition, various communication technologies such as 4G (LTE), 3G, and Wi-Fi may be used between the communication unit 46 and the communication unit 42. Details of notifications will be described later.
[0042] Each element of the video storage setting device 40 will be described below.
[0043] The acquisition unit 41 acquires video from the camera 44. The video acquired by the acquisition unit 41 is video captured from a predetermined position. More specifically, the video acquired by the acquisition unit 41 may be video captured by a camera (imaging device) 44 or the like installed at a predetermined position. Note that the camera 44 may or may not be fixed. Note that in this exemplary embodiment, the video acquired by the acquisition unit 41 may also be referred to as a target video.
[0044] It is preferable that the image acquired by the acquisition unit 41 is captured within an imaging range that can capture the state of a moving object on which the mobile terminal 45 is mounted. Furthermore, although this is not intended to limit the present exemplary embodiment, as an example, the image acquired by the acquisition unit 41 may be an image captured from the front with respect to the traveling direction of the moving object, an image captured from an oblique direction with respect to the traveling direction of the moving object, or an image captured from a direction perpendicular to the traveling direction of the moving object.
[0045] The acquisition unit 41 may acquire information about the target video. The information about the target video may include information related to the target video, in addition to information indicating the target video itself. The information related to the target video may include information indicating the imaging range of the target video. The information indicating the imaging range of the target video may include information indicating the position, angle of view, direction, etc. at which the target video was captured. The acquisition unit 41 may analyze the information indicating the imaging range of the target video from the target video. Furthermore, if the acquisition unit 41 can refer to a database that stores imaging devices in association with the positions, angle of view, direction, etc. of the imaging devices, it can also acquire the position, angle of view, direction, etc. at which the target video was captured from information indicating the imaging device that captured the target video.
[0046] For example, the camera 44 may store information about the position and direction where the camera 44 is installed and the set angle of view, and this information may be included in the information about the target video as information indicating the imaging range of the target video. Furthermore, the acquisition unit 41 may specify the imaging range of the target video depending on which camera 44 the target video was acquired from.
[0047] The image acquired by the acquisition unit 41 may be a monochrome image or a color image. As described above, the image may be information acquired by a camera or sensor other than a visible light camera, or may be information recorded together with the image captured by the camera and information from other sensors, etc. The image captured by the camera 44 from a predetermined position is transmitted to the acquisition unit 41 by wired communication, wireless communication, or a combination thereof.
[0048] The communication unit 42 receives notifications via wireless communication from mobile terminals 45 within a wireless communication range of the video storage setting device 40. This notification may be, for example, information about the vehicle, including information for identifying the vehicle or the imaging device capturing the image of the vehicle, and information about the vehicle's status. Specific examples include various types of notifications, such as information indicating near misses, sudden braking, sudden maneuvers, and accidents, but this does not limit the present exemplary embodiment. Types of accidents may include personal injury accidents and single-vehicle accidents. Notifications including near misses, sudden braking, sudden maneuvers, and accidents may be classified by type.
[0049] Generally, each mobile terminal 45 has its own individual terminal information. Therefore, the terminal information of the mobile terminal 45 may be transmitted from the communication unit 46 of the mobile terminal 45 to the communication unit 42 of the video storage setting device 40 as part of the notification.
[0050] The setting unit 43 sets a storage period for the video corresponding to the notification based on the notification received from the mobile terminal 45. Note that, since the notifications are classified by type as described above, the setting unit 43 may set the storage period based on the type of notification. It is preferable that the video corresponding to the notification includes a video showing the moving object on which the mobile terminal 45 that sent the notification is installed, but this is not a limitation of the present exemplary embodiment.
[0051] The storage period set by the setting unit 43 is set based on a notification received from the communication unit 46 of the mobile terminal 45, and therefore, for example, the storage period set based on a near miss and the storage period set based on sudden braking may be the same or different. That is, if the storage period set based on a near miss is three days, the storage period set based on sudden braking may be five days or may be three days.
[0052] The storage period to be set depending on the type of notification may be predetermined by an operator, or may be determined automatically based on the determined risk level by AI that determines the risk level depending on the type of notification.
[0053] Note that if the information on the target video includes information indicating the imaging range or if the acquisition unit 41 has identified the imaging range of the target video, the setting unit 43 may set the storage period for the target video based on the imaging range of the target video. That is, in addition to setting the storage period according to the type of notification as described above, the setting unit 43 may also set the storage period according to the imaging range of the target video. For example, the setting unit 43 may set a longer storage period when the imaging range of the target video is likely to include a mobile object having the mobile terminal 45 that issued the notification, and may set a shorter storage period when the imaging range of the target video is unlikely to include a mobile object having the mobile terminal 45 that issued the notification.
[0054] For example, if the notification includes location information of the mobile terminal 45, the setting unit 43 may set the storage period based on whether or not the location indicated by the location information is included in the imaging range. In this case, the setting unit 43 may lengthen the storage period if the location indicated by the location information is included in the imaging range, and may shorten the storage period if the location indicated by the location information is not included in the imaging range. Furthermore, if the target video captures the moving object directly in front of it, the setting unit 43 may set a longer storage period. If the target video does not capture the moving object directly in front of it, the setting unit 43 may set a shorter storage period. For example, the closer the location indicated by the location information is to the center of the imaging range, the longer the storage period may be.
[0055] (Effects of the Video Storage Setting Device) The video storage setting device 40 configured as described above can set a storage period for video corresponding to a notification based on a notification received via wireless communication from the mobile terminal 45. Therefore, the video storage setting device 40 configured as described above can suitably set a storage period for acquired video based on a received notification without employing a complex device configuration.
[0056] (Configuration of video storage setting system) The configuration of the video storage setting system 50 according to this exemplary embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 5. Fig. 5 is a block diagram showing the configuration of the video storage setting system 50. As shown in Fig. 5, the video storage setting system 50 includes a video storage setting device 40 including an acquisition unit 41, a communication unit 42, and a setting unit 43, and a storage unit 57.
[0057] The acquisition unit 41 is an embodiment of acquisition means set forth in the claims. The communication unit 42 is an embodiment of reception means set forth in the claims. The setting unit 43 is an embodiment of setting means set forth in the claims. The storage unit 57 is an embodiment of storage means (storage device) set forth in the claims.
[0058] The video storage setting system 50 can receive notifications from the mobile terminal 55 via wireless communication. That is, as an example, the video storage setting system 50 can receive information including notifications from the mobile terminal 55 when the mobile terminal 55, such as a passenger car, bus, or truck, is within a range where wireless communication is possible with the video storage setting device 40 (the communication unit 42 thereof). A communication network such as the above-mentioned local 5G network or V2X may be used between the communication unit 42 of the video storage setting system 50 and the communication unit 56 of the mobile terminal 55. In addition, various communication technologies such as 4G (LTE), 3G, and Wi-Fi may be used between the communication unit 42 and the communication unit 56.
[0059] Each element of the video storage setting system 50 will be described below.
[0060] The acquisition unit 41 acquires video from the camera 54. The video acquired by the acquisition unit 41 is video captured from a predetermined position. More specifically, the video acquired by the acquisition unit 41 may be video captured by a camera (imaging device) 54 or the like installed at a predetermined position. Note that the camera 54 may or may not be fixed.
[0061] The video acquired by the acquisition unit 41 is preferably captured within an imaging range that can capture the state of a moving vehicle equipped with the mobile terminal 55. Furthermore, although this is not a limitation of the present exemplary embodiment, the video acquired by the acquisition unit 41 may be video captured from the front with respect to the traveling direction of the moving vehicle, video captured from an oblique direction with respect to the traveling direction of the moving vehicle, or video captured from a direction perpendicular to the traveling direction of the moving vehicle.
[0062] The acquisition unit 41 may acquire information about the target video, as described above. The information about the target video may include information related to the target video, in addition to information indicating the target video itself. The information related to the target video may include information indicating the imaging range of the target video. The information indicating the imaging range of the target video may include information indicating the position, angle of view, direction, etc., at which the camera 54 captured the target video. The acquisition unit 41 may analyze the information indicating the imaging range of the target video from the target video. Furthermore, if the acquisition unit 41 can refer to a database that stores the camera 54 in association with the position, angle of view, direction, etc., of the camera 54, the acquisition unit 41 can also acquire the position, angle of view, direction, etc. at which the target video was captured from the information indicating the camera 54 that captured the target video.
[0063] For example, the camera 54 may store information regarding the installation position and direction of the camera 54 and the set angle of view, and include this information in the information of the target video as information indicating the imaging range of the target video. The acquisition unit 41 may specify the imaging range of the target video based on landmarks or the like detected in the target video. Furthermore, the acquisition unit 41 may specify the imaging range of the target video depending on which camera 54 the target video was acquired from.
[0064] The image acquired by the acquisition unit 41 may be a monochrome image or a color image. Furthermore, the image may be information acquired by a camera or sensor other than a visible light camera, or may be information recorded together with the image captured by the camera and information from other sensors, etc. The image captured by the camera 54 from a predetermined position may be transmitted to the acquisition unit 41 via wired communication, wireless communication, or a combination thereof.
[0065] The communication unit 42 receives notifications from a mobile terminal 55 within a wireless communication range via wireless communication. The notifications from the mobile terminal 55 may be, for example, information about the vehicle, including information for identifying the vehicle or an imaging device that captures images of the vehicle, and information about the vehicle's status. Specific examples include various types of notifications such as near misses, sudden braking, sudden maneuvers, and accidents, but this does not limit the present exemplary embodiment. Types of accidents may include personal injury accidents and single-vehicle accidents. Notifications including near misses, sudden braking, sudden maneuvers, and accidents may be classified by type of notification.
[0066] Generally, each mobile terminal 55 has its own individual terminal information. Therefore, the terminal information of the mobile terminal 55 may be transmitted from the communication unit 56 of the mobile terminal 55 to the communication unit 42 of the video storage setting device 40 as part of the notification.
[0067] The setting unit 43 sets a storage period for the video corresponding to the notification based on the notification received from the mobile terminal 55. Note that, since the notifications are classified by type as described above, the setting unit 43 may set the storage period based on the type of notification. The video corresponding to the notification preferably includes a video showing a moving object on which the mobile terminal that sent the notification is installed, but this is not a limitation of this exemplary embodiment.
[0068] The storage period set by the setting unit 43 is set based on a notification received from the communication unit 56 of the mobile terminal 55, and therefore, for example, the storage period set based on a near miss and the storage period set based on sudden braking may be the same or different. That is, if the storage period set based on a near miss is three days, the storage period set based on sudden braking may be five days or may be three days.
[0069] The storage period to be set depending on the type of notification may be predetermined by an operator, or may be determined automatically based on the determined risk level by AI that determines the risk level depending on the type of notification.
[0070] Note that if the information on the target video includes information indicating the imaging range or if the acquisition unit 41 has identified the imaging range of the target video, the setting unit 43 may set the storage period for the target video further based on the imaging range of the target video. That is, in addition to setting the storage period according to the type of notification as described above, the setting unit 43 may also set the storage period according to the imaging range of the target video as described above.
[0071] The storage unit 57 receives the video from the acquisition unit 41 and stores the video for a predetermined storage period. The predetermined storage period is set by the setting unit 43 based on a notification received from the mobile terminal 55. The storage unit 57 may constantly receive the video from the acquisition unit 41 and store the received video in a buffer for a certain period. The storage unit 57 may also discard the video stored in the buffer for a certain period after the certain period has elapsed.
[0072] (Effects of the Video Storage Setting System) According to the video storage setting system 50 configured as described above, it is possible to set a storage period for video corresponding to a notification based on a notification received via wireless communication from the mobile terminal 55. Therefore, according to the video storage setting system 50 configured as described above, it is possible to suitably set a storage period for acquired video without employing a complex device configuration.
[0073] (Explanation of Video Storage Setting Method) Fig. 6 is a flow diagram showing the flow of the video storage setting method S2 according to exemplary embodiment 2. As shown in Fig. 6, the video storage setting method S2 according to exemplary embodiment 2 includes steps S601 to S605. Each step of the video storage setting method S2 according to exemplary embodiment 2 is executed by the video storage setting device 40 or the video storage setting system 50.
[0074] (Step S601) The image storage setting method S2 according to the second exemplary embodiment is started.
[0075] (Step S602) In step S602, in the image storage setting method S2, an image is acquired. This acquired image may be an image captured by a camera (image capturing device) at a predetermined position.
[0076] The acquired image is preferably captured within an imaging range that can capture the moving state of the mobile body on which the mobile terminal is mounted. The acquired image may be captured from a frontal view relative to the moving direction of the mobile body, from an oblique direction relative to the moving direction of the mobile body, or from a direction perpendicular to the moving direction of the mobile body.
[0077] (Step S603) In step S603, the video storage setting method S2 according to the second exemplary embodiment receives a notification from a mobile terminal within a wireless communication range of the video storage setting device via wireless communication. The notification from the mobile terminal may include, for example, information about the vehicle, information for identifying the vehicle or the imaging device capturing the image of the vehicle, and information about the vehicle's status. The notification may include various types of notifications, such as near misses, sudden braking, sudden maneuvers, and accidents, but this is not intended to limit the scope of this exemplary embodiment. Types of accidents may include personal injury accidents and single-vehicle accidents. Notifications including near misses, sudden braking, sudden maneuvers, and accidents may be classified by type.
[0078] Generally, each mobile terminal has its own terminal information, and the terminal information of the mobile terminal may be received as part of the notification.
[0079] (Step S604) In step S604, the video storage setting method S2 according to exemplary embodiment 2 sets a storage period for the video corresponding to the notification based on the received notification. Since the notifications are classified by type, the storage period may be set based on the type of notification.
[0080] The storage period to be set depending on the type of notification may be predetermined by an operator, or may be determined automatically based on the determined risk level by AI that determines the risk level depending on the type of notification.
[0081] Note that if the information on the target video includes information indicating the imaging range, or if the imaging range of the target video can be identified from the target video, the storage period for the target video may be set further based on the imaging range of the target video. That is, in addition to setting the storage period according to the type of notification as described above, the storage period may also be set according to the imaging range of the target video as described above.
[0082] (Step S605) The image storage setting method S2 according to the second exemplary embodiment is completed.
[0083] (Effects of the Video Storage Setting Method) According to the video storage setting method S2 described above, it is possible to set a storage period for video corresponding to a notification based on a notification received from a mobile terminal via wireless communication. Therefore, according to the video storage setting method S2, it is possible to suitably set a storage period for acquired video without employing complex steps for recognizing an accident.
[0084]
[0033] Exemplary embodiment 3 of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. A video storage setting device 70 according to this exemplary embodiment is a device that sets a storage period for acquired video based on a notification from a mobile terminal 76 that is within a range where the video storage setting device 70 can wirelessly communicate with the device.
[0085] (Configuration of the video storage setting device) The configuration of the video storage setting device 70 according to this exemplary embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 7. Fig. 7 is a block diagram showing the configuration of the video storage setting device 70. As shown in Fig. 7, the video storage setting device 70 includes an acquisition unit 71, a communication unit 72, a setting unit 73, and a determination unit 74.
[0086] The acquisition unit 71 is an embodiment of the acquisition means set forth in the claims. The communication unit 72 is an embodiment of the reception means set forth in the claims. The setting unit 73 is an embodiment of the setting means set forth in the claims. The determination unit 74 is an embodiment of the determination means set forth in the claims.
[0087] The video storage setting device 70 can receive notifications from the mobile terminal 76 via wireless communication. That is, the video storage setting device 70 can receive notifications from a mobile terminal 76 mounted on a vehicle such as a passenger car, bus, or truck when the mobile terminal 76 is within a range where wireless communication with the video storage setting device 70 (the communication unit 72) is possible. That is, the communication unit 77 of the mobile terminal 76 and the communication unit 72 of the video storage setting device 70 can communicate via a communication network such as a local 5G network or V2X. In addition, various communication technologies such as 4G (LTE), 3G, and Wi-Fi may be used between the communication unit 77 and the communication unit 72. Details of notifications will be described later.
[0088] Each element of the video storage setting device 70 will be described below.
[0089] The acquisition unit 71 acquires images from multiple cameras 75A and 75B. The images acquired by the acquisition unit 71 are multiple images captured from predetermined positions. More specifically, the images acquired by the acquisition unit 71 may be images captured by cameras 75A and 75B installed at predetermined positions. Note that the cameras 75A and 75B may or may not be fixed. Note that in this exemplary embodiment, the images acquired by the acquisition unit 71 may also be referred to as target images.
[0090] The multiple images acquired by the acquisition unit 71 are preferably captured within an imaging range that can capture the state of the moving vehicle on which the mobile terminal 76 is mounted, but this does not limit the present exemplary embodiment. The acquisition unit 71 may acquire information about the target image. The information about the target image may include information related to the target image in addition to information indicating the target image itself. The information related to the target image may include information indicating the imaging range of the target image. The information indicating the imaging range of the target image may include information indicating the position, angle of view, direction, etc. at which the target image was captured by 75A, 75B. The acquisition unit 71 may analyze the information indicating the imaging range of the target image from the target image. Furthermore, if the acquisition unit 71 can refer to a database that stores the cameras 75A, 75B in association with the positions, angle of view, direction, etc. of the cameras 75A, 75B, the acquisition unit 71 can also acquire the position, angle of view, direction, etc. at which the target image was captured from the information indicating the cameras 75A, 75B that captured the target image.
[0091] The multiple images acquired by the acquisition unit 71 are preferably captured within an imaging range that can capture the state of the mobile device on which the mobile terminal 76 is mounted moving, but this does not limit the present exemplary embodiment. For example, the cameras 75A and 75B may retain information regarding the installation positions and directions of the cameras 75A and 75B and the set angles of view, and this information may be included in the information about the target image as information indicating the imaging range of the target image. The acquisition unit 71 may identify the imaging range of the target image based on landmarks detected in the target image, for example. The acquisition unit 71 may also identify the imaging range of the target image depending on which camera 75A or 75B acquired the target image.
[0092] The images acquired by the acquisition unit 71 may be monochrome images or color images. Furthermore, the images may be information acquired by a camera or sensor other than a visible light camera, or may be images captured by a camera along with information from other sensors, etc. Images captured by cameras 75A and 75B from predetermined positions may be transmitted to the acquisition unit 71 via wired communication, wireless communication, or a combination thereof.
[0093] The communication unit 72 receives notifications from mobile terminals 76 within a wireless communication range via wireless communication. The notifications from the mobile terminals 76 may include, for example, information about the vehicle, information for identifying the vehicle or an imaging device that captures images of the vehicle, and information about the vehicle's status. Specific examples include various types of notifications such as near misses, sudden braking, sudden steering, and accidents, and the notifications may be categorized by type. Furthermore, the communication unit 77 of the mobile terminal 76 may transmit terminal information about the mobile terminal 76 to the communication unit 72 as part of the notification.
[0094] The setting unit 73 sets a storage period for the video corresponding to the notification based on the notification or the type of notification received from the mobile terminal 76. Separate storage periods may be set for the videos acquired from the multiple cameras 75A and 75B. For example, the storage period set for the video acquired from the camera 75A may be three days, and the storage period set for the video acquired from the camera 75B may be two days.
[0095] The storage period set by the setting unit 73 may be set based on the notification received by the communication unit 72, for example, by referring to the table shown in FIG. 8 . FIG. 8 is a diagram showing a table that defines the storage period and recording time of the target image based on the notification. As shown in the table in FIG. 8 , the storage period set based on the near miss is three days, and the storage period set based on the accident is two weeks. Furthermore, in this embodiment, the recording time of the video to be stored is also set based on the notification received by the communication unit 72. As shown in the table in FIG. 8 , the recording time set based on the near miss is 30 seconds before and after the occurrence of the event, and the recording time set based on the accident is 60 seconds before and after the occurrence of the event. However, these settings are merely examples.
[0096] Returning to Figure 7, the description will continue. The determination unit 74 determines, from the video acquired by the acquisition unit 71, whether a specific object was present near the location where the video was captured. This determination may be made by analyzing the acquired video and determining whether a specific object was present near the location where the video was captured based on the analysis results. In this way, the determination unit 74 determines whether a specific object was present near the location where the video was captured and stores the determination result.
[0097] The specific object may be, for example, a person such as a pedestrian, or may include a person riding a bicycle or motorcycle, etc. The specific object may also be an animal, a robot, or a vehicle.
[0098] The setting unit 73 sets the storage period based on the determination result held by the determination unit 74 and the notification received by the communication unit 72. As an example, if the received notification is about an accident and the determination result is that a specific object was present near the location where the video was taken, the setting unit 73 may set the storage period to be long. On the other hand, if the received notification is about an accident and the determination result is that a specific object was not present near the location where the video was taken, the setting unit 73 may set the storage period to be short.
[0099] Furthermore, the setting unit 73 may set the storage period of the target video further based on the imaging range of the target video. That is, in addition to setting the storage period according to the type of notification as described above, the setting unit 73 may also set the storage period according to the imaging range of the target video as described above.
[0100] The setting unit 73 may set the storage period depending on the type of notification. Specifically, if the type of notification is a personal injury accident, the setting unit 73 may set a long storage period for all images. If the type of notification is a near miss, the setting unit 73 may set to store only images in an imaging range that captures a moving object directly in front of it (images in which the moving object is shown in the center of the image).
[0101] (Effects of the Video Storage Setting Device) The video storage setting device 70 configured as described above can set a storage period for video corresponding to a notification based on a notification received via wireless communication from the mobile terminal 76. Therefore, the video storage setting device 70 configured as described above can suitably set a storage period for acquired video based on a received notification without employing a complex device configuration.
[0102] (Configuration of Video Storage Setting System) The configuration of a video storage setting system 90 according to this exemplary embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 9 and Fig. 10. Fig. 9 is a block diagram showing the configuration of the video storage setting system 90. As shown in Fig. 9, the video storage setting system 90 includes a video storage setting device 70 including an acquisition unit 71, a communication unit 72, a setting unit 73, and a determination unit 74, and a storage unit 95.
[0103] The acquisition unit 71 is an embodiment of the acquisition means set forth in the claims. The communication unit 72 is an embodiment of the receiving means set forth in the claims. The setting unit 73 is an embodiment of the setting means set forth in the claims. The determination unit 74 is an embodiment of the determination means set forth in the claims. The storage unit 95 is an embodiment of the storage means (storage device) set forth in the claims.
[0104] The video storage setting system 90 can receive notifications from the mobile terminal 97 via wireless communication. That is, the video storage setting system 90 can receive information including notifications from a mobile terminal such as a passenger car, bus, or truck when the mobile terminal is within a range where wireless communication with the video storage setting device 70 (its communication unit 72) is possible. A communication network such as a local 5G network or V2X may be used between the communication unit 72 of the video storage setting system 90 and the communication unit 98 of the mobile terminal 97. In addition, various communication technologies such as 4G (LTE), 3G, and Wi-Fi may be used between the communication unit 72 and the communication unit 98.
[0105] Each element of the video storage setting system 90 will be described below.
[0106] The acquisition unit 71 acquires video from the cameras 96A and 96B. The video acquired by the acquisition unit 71 is video captured from a predetermined position. More specifically, the video acquired by the acquisition unit 71 may be video captured by cameras (imaging devices) 96A, 96B, etc., installed at predetermined positions. Note that the camera 54 may or may not be fixed.
[0107] The images acquired by the acquisition unit 71 are a plurality of images captured from predetermined positions. More specifically, the images acquired by the acquisition unit 71 may be images captured by cameras 96A and 96B installed at predetermined positions. The number of cameras installed at predetermined positions is not limited to two, and more cameras may be installed as described below. In this exemplary embodiment, the images acquired by the acquisition unit 71 may also be referred to as target images.
[0108] The multiple images acquired by the acquisition unit 71 are preferably captured within an imaging range that captures the state of a moving vehicle equipped with the mobile terminal 97, but this does not limit the present exemplary embodiment. The acquisition unit 71 may acquire information about the target image. The information about the target image may include information related to the target image in addition to information indicating the target image itself. The information related to the target image may include information indicating the imaging range of the target image. The information indicating the imaging range of the target image may include information indicating the position, angle of view, direction, etc., at which the target image was captured by 96A, 96B. The acquisition unit 71 may analyze the information indicating the imaging range of the target image from the target image. Furthermore, if the acquisition unit 71 can refer to a database that stores the cameras 96A, 96B in association with the positions, angle of view, direction, etc., of the cameras 96A, 96B, the acquisition unit 71 can also acquire the position, angle of view, direction, etc., at which the target image was captured from the information indicating the cameras 96A, 96B that captured the target image.
[0109] The images acquired by the acquisition unit 71 may be monochrome images or color images. As described above, the images may be information acquired by a camera or sensor other than a visible light camera, or may be images captured by a camera together with information from other sensors, etc. Images captured by the cameras 96A and 96B from predetermined positions may be transmitted to the acquisition unit 71 via wired communication, wireless communication, or a combination thereof.
[0110] The communication unit 72 receives notifications from mobile terminals 97 within a wireless communication range via wireless communication. The notifications from the mobile terminals 97 may include, for example, information about the vehicle, information for identifying the vehicle or an imaging device that captures images of the vehicle, and information about the vehicle's status. The notifications may include various types of notifications, such as near misses, sudden braking, sudden steering, and accidents, and may be categorized by notification type. Furthermore, the communication unit 98 of the mobile terminal 97 may transmit terminal information about the mobile terminal 97 to the communication unit 72 as part of the notification.
[0111] The setting unit 73 sets a storage period for the video corresponding to the notification based on the notification or the type of notification received from the mobile terminal 97. Separate storage periods may be set for the video acquired from the multiple cameras 96A and 96B. For example, the storage period set for the video acquired from camera 96A may be three days, and the storage period set for the video acquired from camera 96B may be two days.
[0112] The determination unit 74 determines, from the video acquired by the acquisition unit 71, whether a specific object was present near the location where the video was captured. This determination may be made by analyzing the acquired video and determining whether a specific object was present near the location where the video was captured based on the analysis results. In this way, the determination unit 74 determines whether a specific object was present near the location where the video was captured and stores the determination result. The specific object may be, for example, a person such as a pedestrian, or may include a person riding a bicycle or motorcycle. The specific object may also be an animal, a robot, or a vehicle.
[0113] The setting unit 73 sets the storage period based on the determination result held by the determination unit 74 and the notification received by the communication unit 72 from a mobile terminal 97 within wireless communication range of the video storage setting device 70.
[0114] The storage unit 95 has an imaging range storage unit 95A that stores imaging range and position information of the video, a buffer 95B that temporarily stores information, and a memory unit 95C that stores video information. The imaging range storage unit 95A stores information on the imaging ranges of the cameras 96A and 96B, and also stores position information of the mobile terminal 97. The position information of the mobile terminal 97 may be determined by analyzing the video acquired from the cameras 96A and 96B, but the third exemplary embodiment is not limited to this determination method.
[0115] The information on the imaging range of the target video may be stored by the cameras 96A and 96B based on the installation positions and directions of the cameras 96A and 96B, the set images, etc., and the imaging range information may be included in the information on the captured target video when the target video is captured. Alternatively, the acquisition unit 71 may recognize the information on the imaging range of the target video by analyzing the target video and detecting specific landmarks, etc. Alternatively, the acquisition unit 71 may acquire the information on the imaging range of the target video depending on the camera that captured the target video. The imaging range information and position information are stored in the imaging range storage unit 95A.
[0116] The buffer 95B constantly stores the video acquired by the acquisition unit 71 for a certain period of time. Stored video that has been stored for a certain period of time is discarded. Video that is an exception to this discarding is target video that has a storage period set by the setting unit 73. Target video for which a storage period has been set is stored in the memory unit 95C. The target video may be copied from the buffer 95B to the memory unit 95C within a certain period of time. The target video may also be moved from the buffer 95B to the memory unit 95C within a certain period of time.
[0117] (Example of operation of video storage setting system) Figure 10 is a schematic diagram showing an example of operation of video storage setting system 90. Figure 10 shows a schematic diagram of intersection 100 which is the target of operation of video storage setting system 90. Cameras 101A, 101B, 101C, and 101D are installed at four corners of intersection 100 with their angle of view facing the center of the intersection.
[0118] An antenna 102 connected to the communication unit 72 of the video storage setting system 90 is installed near the intersection 100. The antenna 102 and the communication unit 72 may be connected by wired communication, wireless communication, or a combination thereof.
[0119] When a mobile object 103 approaching an intersection 100 enters a predetermined range, a mobile terminal 97 mounted on the mobile object 103 becomes capable of communication 104 with the video storage setting system 90 via an antenna 102. In other words, a communication unit 98 of the mobile terminal 97 enters a range where it can communicate wirelessly with a communication unit 72 of the video storage setting system 90.
[0120] As shown in Figure 10, when a mobile object 103 approaches an intersection 100 that is the target of operation of the video storage setting system 90 and enters within a specified range, the video storage setting system 90 and the terminal (mobile terminal 97 in Figure 9) installed on the mobile object 103 become connected, enabling communication 104, and a notification from the mobile terminal 97 is received by the video storage setting system 90.
[0121] The setting unit 73 of the video storage setting system 90 sets a storage period for the video corresponding to the notification based on the notification or the type of notification received from the mobile terminal 97. This storage period is set so that video for a certain period of time can be stored from the time the notification is received from the mobile terminal 97. This certain period of time may be set to a different time based on the type of notification. A different storage period may be set for each of the video from the four cameras 101A, 101B, 101C, and 101D.
[0122] (Effects of the Video Storage Setting System) According to the video storage setting system 90 configured as described above, it is possible to set a storage period for video corresponding to a notification based on a notification received from a mobile terminal 97 that is within wireless communication range of the video storage setting device 70. Therefore, according to the video storage setting system 90 configured as described above, it is possible to suitably set a storage period for acquired video without employing a complex device configuration.
[0123] (Explanation of Video Storage Setting Method) Fig. 11 is a flow diagram showing the flow of the video storage setting method S3 according to exemplary embodiment 3. As shown in Fig. 11, the video storage setting method S3 according to exemplary embodiment 3 includes steps S1101 to S1110. Each step of the video storage setting method S3 according to exemplary embodiment 3 is executed by the video storage setting device 70 or the video storage setting system 80.
[0124] (Step S1101) The video storage setting method S3 according to the third exemplary embodiment is started.
[0125] (Step S1102) In step S1102, the video storage setting method S3 determines whether or not a notification has been received from a mobile terminal 97 within the range of wireless communication with the video storage setting device. If no notification has been received, the method waits until a notification is received (No), and if a notification has been received, the method proceeds to the next step (Yes).
[0126] (Step S1103) The type of the received notification is identified. The notification includes various types of notifications such as at least near misses, sudden braking, sudden steering, and accidents, and the accidents include personal injury accidents and single-vehicle accidents. In step 1103, the type of notification is identified based on the received notification.
[0127] (Step S1104) In step S1104, the video storage setting method S3 according to the third exemplary embodiment identifies the location of the mobile terminal 97. For example, a notification from the mobile terminal 97 may include terminal information of the mobile terminal 97, and the location of the mobile terminal 97 may be identified based on the terminal information. At this time, the moving direction and moving speed of the mobile terminal 97 may also be identified based on the terminal information.
[0128] (Step S1105) In step S1105, the camera capturing the image of the terminal is identified based on the location information of the terminal identified in step S1104. In the example of operation of video storage setting system 90 shown in Fig. 10, cameras 101A, 101B, 101C, and 101D are installed in squares at intersection 100, and in step S1105, one of cameras 101A, 101B, 101C, and 101D is identified.
[0129] The method for identifying the camera is not limited, but for example, if the imaging range of each camera (camera position, imaging direction, angle of view, etc.) is registered in advance, a camera having an imaging range that includes the position indicated by the location information of the terminal identified in step S1104 may be identified. Note that if a local 5G network is adopted, the relationship between the base station to which the mobile terminal 97 is connected and the cameras in its vicinity is known. Furthermore, for example, the video captured by each camera may be analyzed, and the camera capturing the mobile terminal 97 may be identified based on the analysis results.
[0130] (Step S1106) In step S1106, it is determined whether multiple cameras were identified in step S1105. If multiple cameras were identified (Yes), the process proceeds to the next step S1107. If only one camera was identified (No), the process proceeds to step S1108.
[0131] (Step S1107) In step S1107, in the video storage setting method S3 according to exemplary embodiment 3, if multiple cameras are identified, i.e., if multiple videos are acquired, the video corresponding to the notification is identified based on the received notification. Since the notifications are categorized by type, identification may be performed based on the type of notification. Also, in step S1107, identification is performed for each of the multiple videos, but identification may also be performed by selecting only one of the multiple videos.
[0132] For example, if the type of notification is a personal injury accident, all of the multiple videos may be identified as the video corresponding to the notification. On the other hand, if the type of notification is a near miss, for example, only the video of the imaging range capturing the moving object directly in front (video with the moving object in the center of the video) may be identified as the video corresponding to the notification. In this way, in one example, the higher the importance corresponding to the type of notification, the more videos may be identified as the video corresponding to the notification, and the lower the importance corresponding to the type of notification, the fewer videos may be identified as the video corresponding to the notification.
[0133] (Step S1108) In S1108, the video storage period and recording time are identified by referring to a table. The table shown in FIG. 8 may be used. If multiple videos are identified, the video storage period and recording time for each video may be identified based on the received notification. The video storage period may also be identified based on the imaging range of the video, the result of determining whether a specific object is present nearby, and the like.
[0134] (Step S1109) In S1109, storage settings are made based on the identified video storage period and recording time.
[0135] (Step S1110) The video storage setting method S3 according to the third exemplary embodiment is completed.
[0136] The video storage setting method S3 does not include the step of determining whether or not a person was present near the location where the video was taken and changing the set storage period based on the result of this determination, which is a function of the determination unit 74. This storage period change step may be inserted between steps S1108 and S1109.
[0137] In addition, in the above-mentioned video storage setting method S3, it is also possible to identify witnesses by acquiring and storing information about other mobile terminals that were nearby when a notification was received from the mobile terminal in step S1102 or when the type of notification was identified in step S1103.
[0138] (Effects of the Video Storage Setting Method) According to the video storage setting method S3 described above, it is possible to set a storage period for video corresponding to a notification based on a notification received from a mobile terminal via wireless communication. Therefore, according to the video storage setting method S3, it is possible to suitably set a storage period for acquired video without employing complex steps for recognizing an accident.
[0139] [Software Implementation Example] Some or all of the functions of the video storage setting devices 10, 40, 70 and the video storage setting systems 20, 50, 90 may be implemented by hardware such as an integrated circuit (IC chip), or by software.
[0140] In the latter case, the video storage setting devices 10, 40, 70 and the video storage setting systems 20, 50, 90 are realized, for example, by a computer that executes instructions of a program, which is software that realizes each function. An example of such a computer (hereinafter referred to as computer C) is shown in FIG. 12. Computer C includes at least one processor C1 and at least one memory C2. Memory C2 stores a program P for operating computer C as the video storage setting devices 10, 40, 70 or the video storage setting systems 20, 50, 90. In computer C, processor C1 reads and executes program P from memory C2, thereby realizing each function of the video storage setting devices 10, 40, 70 or the video storage setting systems 20, 50, 90.
[0141] The processor C1 may be, for example, a central processing unit (CPU), a graphics processing unit (GPU), a digital signal processor (DSP), a micro processing unit (MPU), a floating point number processing unit (FPU), a physics processing unit (PPU), a tensor processing unit (TPU), a quantum processor, a microcontroller, or a combination thereof. The memory C2 may be, for example, a flash memory, a hard disk drive (HDD), a solid state drive (SSD), or a combination thereof.
[0142] The computer C may further include a RAM (Random Access Memory) for expanding the program P during execution and for temporarily storing various data. The computer C may also include a communication interface for transmitting and receiving data to and from other devices. The computer C may also include an input / output interface for connecting input / output devices such as a keyboard, a mouse, a display, and a printer.
[0143] The program P can also be recorded on a non-transitory, tangible recording medium M that can be read by the computer C. Such a recording medium M can be, for example, a tape, a disk, a card, a semiconductor memory, or a programmable logic circuit. The computer C can acquire the program P via such a recording medium M. The program P can also be transmitted via a transmission medium. Such a transmission medium can be, for example, a communications network or broadcast waves. The computer C can also acquire the program P via such a transmission medium.
[0144] [Additional Note 1] The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various modifications are possible within the scope of the claims. For example, embodiments obtained by appropriately combining the technical means disclosed in the above-described embodiments are also included in the technical scope of the present invention.
