Abstract
Description
[0001] MAGNETIC LENSES WITH REMOVABLE FRAMES
[0002] Field of invention:
[0003] The invention relates to an innovative functional lens system that allows users to easily change lenses from one frame to another by using and placing magnets on the top of both lenses and on the frame itself, offering comfort and versatility in the use of glasses. This system solves the problem of difficult lens replacement in traditional lenses and provides a practical and effective solution. It can be implemented with all types of lenses (sunglasses, rest glasses, magnifying glasses, among all possible types of lenses).
[0004] The system allows the use of different lens frames with the same glass or different types of glass with the same lens frame or different lens frames with different types of glass, due to its easy coupling and decoupling.
[0005] The system consists of a secure fixing mechanism, anchoring, and magnets to ensure the glass remains firmly secured, preventing any unwanted movement during use.
[0006] This innovative system not only stands out for its interchangeability between frames and lenses, but also incorporates an additional level of customization by allowing users to adjust not only the style but also the functionality of their glasses.
[0007] Background v Analysis of the invention:
[0008] The proposal presented is based on the innovation and improvement of lens systems with removable frames, a technology that has gained increasing interest in recent years due to its ability to improve versatility and comfort when wearing glasses.
[0009] Below, we will discuss some background and related projects that have influenced our approach and development.
[0010] First, the idea of removable eyeglass frames is not new, and other systems have been developed in the past. For example, products with quick-release mechanisms have been launched for changing lenses or adapting lenses to different needs. However, many of these systems still have limitations in terms of the ease and speed of lens changes, as well as their stability.
[0011] These include glasses with simple twist-up or clip-on lens-changing mechanisms; however, these systems may lack the necessary stability and may be prone to accidental falls.
[0012] Magnetic attachment technology has been implemented for lens retention, proving to be effective and secure. These systems have been noted for their ease of use and ability to keep lenses firmly in place.
[0013] In particular, utility model CN204807827 U shows a coupling of additional crystals by means of magnets at their ends.
[0014] This type of lens allows for the addition of an additional pair of lenses, but it's still difficult to replace the lenses or frames if they become damaged, or simply by choice. These days, people are looking for quick and easy lens replacements.
[0015] Patent CN 101384946 B discloses glasses that have magnets around the entire circumference of the lens, which must also be fitted into a specially designed frame so that the lens remains in place using the magnets as an aid. In this way, these glasses allow for the stability of the lenses to be improved.
[0016] Other eyewear designs such as those disclosed in utility model CN 211826761 U and patent application KR 20170038446 A, seek to solve the technical problem of exchanging glasses and / or frames by adding fastening elements comprising magnets to a fully closing frame.
[0017] The present invention proposes including curved, magnetized metal sheets on the top of the lens, as well as on the inside of the frame. This allows for magnetization and creates a locking and anchoring connection for frames that do not have a complete closure.
[0018] Brief description of the drawings:
[0019] Figure 1 is a perspective view of the disassembled lenses.
[0020] Figure 2 is a perspective view of another embodiment. Figure 3 is a front view of the assemblies.
[0021] Figure 4 is a perspective view of a single glass and a method of realization
[0022] Figure 5 is a bottom view of the frame to appreciate the anchoring elements.
[0023] Figure 6 is a view of one of the lenses.
[0024] Detailed description:
[0025] In one embodiment, the magnetic lenses with removable frames comprise: a lens frame with magnetic inserts and curved sheets that also incorporate magnetic inserts. These curved sheets are strategically located on the top of the lenses and on the frame itself, and are essential for achieving a secure and effective magnetic hold of the lenses in the frame.
[0026] The curved sheets can partially cover the upper half of the glass and / or be partially composed of magnetic materials. In other words, a glass pane is covered at least partially in its upper half by at least one curved sheet comprising magnetic material over at least part of its length. This achieves a stable and secure connection between the glass and the frame.
[0027] There are different types of magnets that can be used for the formation of the curved magnetic sheets that cover the glass and the formation of the curved magnetic sheets that are inside the frame of the glasses, in addition to the possible magnetic inserts that are on or inside both sheets mentioned above, among which we can find neodymium magnets, iron, boron, alnico, ferrite, samarium, chromium, cobalt, tungsten, seltren, strontium, iridium, aluminum, nickel, yttrium, bismuth, zinc, gallium, rhodium, molybdenum, tantalum, magnetic sheets, magnetic strips, according to permanent magnets, temporary or soft magnets, electromagnetic magnets, flexible magnets, magnetic levitation magnets, flexible adhesive magnets, flexible ceramic magnets, and all types of existing magnets that allow generating the functionality of disassembly and union between the glass or glasses and the frame of the glasses.
[0028] The distinctive feature of curved frames lies in their meticulous design, which has been conceived to perfectly fit the curved shape of the lenses. This precise fit guarantees not only stability but also aesthetics, ensuring that the lenses maintain their original shape and style. Furthermore, these curved frames are highly durable. Choosing the material for eyeglass frames is a personal decision that involves aesthetic, comfort, and style considerations. Each material has its own unique characteristics, and the variety of options allows wearers to find the combination that best suits their needs and preferences.
[0029] Among the materials to be used for the production of the frames / frames of the “magnetic glasses with removable frames” we can find, acetate frames, injected plastic, TR-90, polyamide, Nylon, metal, aluminum, titanium, carbon, recycled materials, stainless steel, wood, ultem, grilamid, silicone, according to frames of plastic or acetate materials, frames of metal materials, frames of composite materials, frames of natural and sustainable materials, frames of bioplastic materials or biodegradable materials, frames of additive production materials, and all types of existing materials according to the production, manufacturing or composition of the frame / frame, which allows generating the functionality of disassembly and union between the glass(es) and the frame of the glasses.
[0030] When a user wants to change the lenses on their glasses, the process is remarkably simple. Simply remove the current lens from the frame, and this is accomplished by simply applying a force greater than the magnetic force, which releases the lenses from the lens frame.
[0031] The new lens is then inserted and anchored by the curved plates that comprise the magnetic mount, without any additional manipulation of the frame. This provides a quick replacement experience without the need for tools for the wearer or manipulation of the frame. This not only significantly improves the versatility of the lenses but also provides exceptional comfort in daily use.
[0032] Therefore, removing and replacing the lenses and / or frame is as simple as peeling off a magnet. This ease of use significantly improves the convenience and time required to change lenses compared to prior art documents. Furthermore, the curved blade allows for equal or greater stability compared to similar lenses disclosed in prior art with fewer elements and parts, without the need for mechanical anchoring such as a fully locking frame or a lower frame.
[0033] This removable frame lens system represents a cutting-edge solution that combines sophisticated engineering with ease of use, giving wearers the flexibility to adapt their lenses to different situations without complications, while maintaining an attractive design and unmatched comfort.
[0034] Figure 1 shows an embodiment of the lenses (1) comprising a frame (2) with two openings for inserting the glasses (4) and the glasses (4) comprising in their upper part a curved sheet (3), which comprises at least in part of its extension a magnetic material. In addition, the frame comprises in the lower part of the openings for inserting the glasses a fixed curved sheet (5) (not observable in Figure 1).
[0035] Figure 2 shows a second embodiment of the lenses (1) comprising a frame (2) with two openings for inserting the glasses (4) and the glasses (4) comprising in their upper part a curved sheet (3), which comprises at least in part of its extension a magnetic material. Unlike the embodiment of Figure 1, the curved sheet (5) of the frame that is located in the lower part of the openings is removable.
[0036] Figure 3 shows the assembled lenses (1), where only the frame (2) and the glass (4) can be seen, with the curved sheets (3) and (5) not visible.
[0037] Figure 4 shows how the lenses (1) can be assembled by having the frame (2), the curved sheet (5) incorporated in the opening to insert the glasses and the assembly of the glass (4) and the curved sheet (3).
[0038] Figures 5 and 6 show a third embodiment where magnetic materials of different shapes can be included that protrude from the curved sheet.
[0039] In Figure 5 you can see in detail the opening of the frame (2), where the curved sheet (5) can comprise holes (6), whether cylindrical, hemispherical, cubic, rectangular or conical, where the magnetic materials (7) incorporated in the surface of the curved sheet (3) anchored to the glass (4) can be inserted (not shown in Figure 5).
