Abstract
Description
[0001] LIGHTING SYSTEM
[0002] TEXT OF THE DESCRIPTION
[0003] SCOPE OF INVENTION
[0004] The present invention is part of the field of lighting and lighting technology, in particular it is a modular and adjustable lighting system.
[0005] To date there are countless lighting systems that can be both adjustable and modular: among these there are for example the so-called track systems where more than one light point can be installed on a conductive track but there are also modular systems that include more than one light element connected to each other through rigid connections (for example led bars or lighting elements of various shapes).
[0006] In fact, all these systems have at least two important problems: they provide a connection between the light modules (or in any case between a module and a fixed anchoring part) that does not allow them to rotate freely at 360° without blocks, this also and above all for a specific rule of law designed to avoid stretching and breakage of the power cables that connect the modules to each other. In addition, these pre-existing systems, if it is true that they can allow a free orientation of the light beams (apart from the 360 degree constraint mentioned above), it is equally true that this operation can only be carried out in a first installation phase following which, to possibly correct or modify said orientation, it is necessary to intervene with equipment such as screwdrivers, or Allen keys. This significant limitation indeed prevents adjustment based, for example, on the position of the user who is in the vicinity of the lighting system.
[0007] In addition, all these systems have the disadvantage of not being able to be extended indefinitely due to having to return the power to the circuit from time to time in order to comply with the ratios between required power and wiring capacity.
[0008] An object of the present invention is to describe a lighting system that is substantially cable-free apart from a single power point for the entire system.
[0009] It is an object of the present invention to describe a lighting system that can be 360° adjustable, in particular that each element can be rotated 360° at least according to an axis of rotation and therefore without having to undergo constraints or blocks due to the presence of cables.
[0010] A further object of the present invention is to describe a lighting system that can be easily adjusted or of which the light beams can be oriented without the use of tools but with a simple intervention of a non-expert user.
[0011] A further object of the present invention is to describe a lighting system that can be indefinitely extended (tens of meters) without having to repeatedly bring back the power supply or provide for the addition of unsightly and unwanted wiring.
[0012] An object of the present invention is to describe a lighting system that is modular and expandable in all directions without module limitations.
[0013] Still another object of the present invention is to describe a lighting system that can be activated in one or more lighting parts simultaneously or separately at the choice of the user.
[0014] Finally, an object of the present invention is to describe a lighting system that is simple in construction, easily installable and economical.
[0015] BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0016] The innovative lighting system object of the present invention therefore comprises at least one electric power supply, one or more lighting elements, electrical and mechanical connection means between the one or more lighting elements and between them and said at least one power supply, said system is characterized in that it comprises at least one main connection box connected to said power supply in which one or more seats are included, said seats being the means of mechanical connection for the engagement of a first end of at least one lighting element to create the mechanical connection between the two parts, said seats still comprising said electrical connection means which are at least two electrical circuits which are concentric electrical tracks to allow the passage of electrical current between said connection box and said at least one lighting element, said end of said lighting element, comprising at least two conductive pins positioned so as to establish an electrical contact with said concentric circular electrical circuits / tracks, said at least one end of said lighting element remaining engaged in said seat, said seat being rotatably coupled with said first end of said at least one lighting element, therefore the lighting element can rotate 360 degrees with respect to the seat of the connection box remaining in contact with the concentric electrical tracks in each position during said rotation.
[0017] In one or more embodiments said seat having a cylindrical or conical or other shape suitable for the purpose of making a hinged coupling with the end of an lighting element.
[0018] In an embodiment said connection box advantageously comprising one or more seats having geometric axis arranged in any way in the space to connect one or more lighting elements on the same connection box.
[0019] In one embodiment, said system comprises a plurality of secondary connection boxes, the primary connection box being the only one directly connected (or including) a power supply, the other boxes and the lighting elements always remaining free of electrical wires.
[0020] In a preferred embodiment said system comprises a plurality of lighting elements, said lighting elements always having one end comprising connection pins with at least the electrical tracks of a seat of a connection box, said lighting elements in a further embodiment also having a second end (or a plurality of ends) equipped with electrical connection pins with at least one further seat of at least one other connection box, to create a geometrically complex lighting structure consisting of sequences of connection boxes and lighting elements without the use of power cables (apart from the one connected with a primary connection box mentioned above).
[0021] It should be noted that the connection between the seat and one end of an lighting element constituting a forced mechanical connection but allowing mutual rotation between the connection box and the lighting element; said pins and said concentric circuits remaining in constant contact even in the event of 360 degree rotation between the connection box and the lighting element. Said connection box comprising discontinuous electrical circuits to switch on and off one or more lighting elements depending on the relative rotation angle between the lighting element and the connection box.
[0022] Said connection box comprising in one or more of said seats, more than two concentric electrical circuits and said lighting element comprising more than two pins in order to be able to light one or more parts of said lighting element in a differentiated manner.

[0024] BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES
[0025] Fig. 1a, 1 b, 1 c show some views of the connection details between a connection box and lighting elements included in the innovative lighting system.
[0026] Fig. 2a shows the detail of an electrical circuit.
[0027] Fig.2b shows a schematic representation of a circuit with more than two electrical tracks to come into contact with more than two pins that may be present on the lighting element.
[0028] Fig.2c instead shows a circuit with incomplete electrical tracks to be able to interrupt the connection according to certain degrees of rotation.
[0029] Fig.3a, 3b, 3c show some complex compositions obtained by means of the innovative lighting system object of the present invention.
[0030] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES
[0031] In fig. 1 a, 1 b and 1 c are therefore represented some perspective views of the lighting system 100 in which, in this embodiment, at least one secondary connection box 8 with some lighting elements 4 is included (the secondary connection box 8 differs from the primary connection box 1 only in that the primary box 1 is the only one also connected to an electrical power supply or includes it): the secondary connection box 8 in this embodiment is similar to a cube, on some of its faces the seats 3 are obtained in which the ends 5 of the lighting elements 4 are engaged. Again in this preferred embodiment, the seats 3 are cylindrical. At the bottom of the seats 3 there are electrical circuits / electrical tracks 6. In the assembly phase of the innovative lighting system 100, the first ends 5 are engaged in the seats 3 making a stable connection but allowing 360 degree rotation between the secondary connection box 8 and the lighting element 4, in particular the end 5 of the lighting element comprises two conductive pins 7 positioned so as to establish an electrical contact with the circular electrical circuits 6 when the end 5 is positioned in its seat.
[0032] It is advantageously and innovatively noted that, even with a complete rotation of 360 degrees between secondary connection box 8 and lighting element, electrical continuity is guaranteed and therefore it is possible to rotate the lighting element by directing the light beam in each direction without fear of blocks in the rotation or twisting of electrical cables.
[0033] Preferably, the concentric electrical circuits 6 are shown at the bottom of each seat through a small kapton board on which the circuits 6 are made, this solution allows to eliminate electrical cables and welds of any kind in addition to ensuring with the appropriate sizing, to support even high loads and that is to allow the simultaneous supply in series of multiple lighting elements.
[0034] Sometimes, to ensure a greater seal, seals (not shown) can be inserted on the end of the lighting element. In fig.1 c, a primary connection box 1 connected to an external power supply has been schematized. It will be the only box connected to the electricity network while throughout the lighting system the power supply will circulate by means of the connections between lighting elements and secondary connection boxes.
[0035] Fig.2a instead shows the electrical circuit made on a kapton board that will be inserted inside the connection boxes 2 and 8, being able to be easily folded and positioned with the electrical tracks able to connect with the pins 7 on the ends of the lighting elements, this solution allows to power all the elements connected to the connection box without using cables or welds. In fig. 2b and 2c the configuration with more than two tracks is schematically indicated, there is in fact a third concentric track 9 that can, if necessary, close a contact with a third pin present in a variant on one or more ends of the lighting element in an embodiment variant.
[0036] This solution will be adopted in order to be able to independently turn on one or more parts of the lighting element: for example, the central pin is fixed, between 0 and 90 degrees of rotation the part of the lighting element powered by the pin in contact with the track 6a will work, between 90 and 180 the entire lighting element or the pins in contact with the tracks 6a and 6b will work, between 180 and 270 only the part powered by the pin in contact with the track 6b will work while between 270 and 0 degrees the lighting element will remain off. These possibilities will be available for each lighting element connected to a connection box.
[0037] Fig. 3a shows an embodiment that includes a single primary connection box 1 inserted here in a base B equipped with a power supply and a single lighting element. The innovative lighting system is configured in this case as a floor lamp in which the lighting element can be innovatively rotated 360 degrees without impediments with respect to the base, all this with the simple gesture of a user without the use of any tool in an easy and fast way.
[0038] Fig. 3b and 3b show more complex structures made with the innovative lighting system object of the present invention: note the plurality of secondary connection boxes 8 interconnected with a plurality of lighting elements 4. A single primary connection box 1 is connected to the electrical network, the entire structure being wireless and each element being rotatable with respect to the connection boxes to which it is connected, in fact creating a completely customizable light structure in the directionality of the light beams generated by each single lighting element. The tracks and pins can be increased indefinitely allowing a multiplicity of adjustments of the innovative lighting system, the electric current will obviously flow from the primary connection box to the lighting elements connected there and in the second ends of said lighting elements will bring the current to a secondary box to said secondary box will be connected in turn lighting elements and so on to create any desired shape according to the user's requirements. As mentioned, if there are discontinuous electrical circuits, each lighting element 4 can be switched on and off depending on the degree of rotation with respect to the connection box(s).
[0039] It is evident that thanks to the innovative lighting system described by the present invention all the aforementioned problems of the known art have been solved, variations in the number of boxes, of the lighting elements, of the material in which boxes and lighting elements are built, embodiments of the lighting elements are all embodiments included in the object of the protection as better defined by the appended claims.
