[0021] [1] A molle-shaped yarn mat as an example of an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0022] This molle-shaped yarn mat MT is composed of three cloth structures Fs1, Fs2, and Fs3 that are rectangular in plan view, each formed by connecting a large number of adjacent, nearly parallel molle-shaped yarn sections M at spaced connection positions L in the direction of the central axis of each molle-shaped yarn section M in parallel (so that the molle-shaped yarn sections of each cloth structure are in series), and a cloth tape N is sewn onto the entire outer peripheral edge of the mat to wrap around and cover the outer periphery and the front and back of the mat.
[0023] The back side of this malleable yarn mat MT is not covered with a base fabric or other sheet body.
[0024] This mall-shaped yarn mat MT is flexible and assumes a generally planar shape when placed on a horizontal surface.
[0025] (1) Molded yarn
[0026] The mall-shaped yarn MY that constitutes the mall-shaped yarn portion M is formed by twisting a core yarn (not shown) consisting of multiple polyester-based filaments with a length of approximately 9 mm and a 0.7 denier polyester-based single fiber (water absorption rate of 0.5% or less at 20°C and a relative humidity of 65%) as decorative yarn fy, with the decorative yarn held approximately perpendicular to the core yarn at the center of the length.
[0027] This mall-shaped yarn MY has decorative threads fy densely packed circumferentially, radially and approximately radially from a core thread along the axis, with the density increasing as it moves inward and the density also increasing in the axial direction. The density of the decorative threads increases as they move inward in the mall-shaped yarn, and the inward water absorption force acts due to capillary action, resulting in excellent water absorption, as well as good lateral cushioning properties, including in the radial direction of the mall-shaped yarn.
[0028] (2) A large number of adjacent, parallel-aligned mould-like thread portions
[0029] A single molle-shaped thread is folded back at regular intervals, and the spaces between each folded back portion D of the molle-shaped thread and the next folded back portion D, as well as between the starting end and the first folded back portion D, and between the last folded back portion D and the end of the molle-shaped thread, form a number of molle-shaped thread portions M that are adjacent to each other and are generally parallel to each other. Each molle-shaped thread portion M is equivalent.
[0030] (3) A large number of adjacent, substantially parallel molle-shaped thread portions M are connected to each other at connecting positions L spaced at regular intervals in the axial direction of each molle-shaped thread portion M to form a fabric-like structure. In this example, the regular intervals between connecting positions L are approximately 2.7 times (approximately 19 mm) the diameter (approximately 7 mm) of the majority of the spacing portions Sp (almost circular cross section), which are the portions between the spaced connecting positions L in the axial direction of the molle-shaped thread portion.
[0031] A large number of adjacent, almost parallel shaped mall-shaped thread portions M (Ma, Mb, Mc...) are connected to one another at connection positions L (La1, Lb1, Lc1..., La2, Lb2, Lc2..., La3, Lb3, Lc3..., etc.) of each mall-shaped thread portion M by connecting polyester fiber thread-like bodies T (T1, T2, T3...) as follows (in a manner similar to weaving a blind):
[0032] The thread T1 binds the outer periphery of the connecting position La1 of the mall-shaped thread portion Ma, then the thread T1 binds the connecting position Lb1 adjacent to the connecting position La1 in the mall-shaped thread portion Mb adjacent to the mall-shaped thread portion Ma, and then the thread T1 binds the connecting position Lc1 adjacent to the connecting position Lb1 in the mall-shaped thread portion Mc adjacent to the mall-shaped thread portion Mb on the opposite side from the mall-shaped thread portion Ma.
[0033] As a result, the connection positions La1, Lb1, and Lc1 are in contact in a direction roughly perpendicular to the axial direction of each mall-shaped thread portion, and in each mall-shaped thread portion, the cross section of the connection position L (which is an almost circular cross section with a diameter of approximately 5 mm) is smaller over the entire circumference than the cross section of the spacing portion Sp.
[0034] At the same time, the thread T2 similarly binds the outer periphery of the connecting position La2 of the mall-shaped thread portion Ma, and then the thread T2 binds the outer periphery of the connecting position Lb2 adjacent to the connecting position La2 in the mall-shaped thread portion Mb adjacent to the mall-shaped thread portion Ma, and then the thread T2 binds the outer periphery of the connecting position Lc2 adjacent to the connecting position Lb2 in the mall-shaped thread portion Mc adjacent to the mall-shaped thread portion Ma on the opposite side of the mall-shaped thread portion Mb.
[0035] The outer peripheries of La3, Lb3, Lc3, etc. are similarly bound with thread-like bodies T3, T4, and the same process is then carried out for mole-like thread portions Md, Me, thereby constructing a fabric structure Fs1. The same is true for fabric structures Fs2 and Fs3.
[0036] 8, the joining positions of the right end of the fabric structure Fs1 and the left end of the fabric structure Fs2 are common joining positions La7, Lb7, Lc7 for the corresponding mole-like thread portions Ma and M2a, mole-like thread portions Mb and M2b, and mole-like thread portions Mc and M2c. Thread T7 brings together mole-like thread portions Ma and M2a at joining position La7, brings together mole-like thread portions Mb and M2b at joining position Lb7, and similarly joins the joining positions Lc7 and below, thereby joining fabric structures Fs1 and Fs2. Fabric structures Fs2 and Fs3 are also similarly treated and joined by thread T13.
[0037] (4) The spacing portions Sp, which are the portions between the connecting positions L spaced at regular intervals in the axial direction of each of the molle-shaped thread portions Ma, Mb, Mc, Md..., are adjacent to each other in a substantially parallel arrangement in the molle-shaped thread portions Ma, Mb, Mc, Md... that are adjacent to each other and substantially parallel to each other.
[0038] (5) The cross section (almost circular cross section) of each of the mole-like thread portions in the fabric structures Fs1, Fs2, and Fs3 is smaller over the entire circumference at connection positions La2 to Lg2 (diameter approximately 5 mm) on both sides of the axial direction of the space portions Sp than at the space portions Sp (mostly diameter approximately 7 mm), and the connection positions L are in contact with each other. Note that the connection positions L in the schematic diagrams of Figures 5 and 8 are not drawn in a reduced state.
[0039] In these cloth-like structures, adjacent parallel spacing portions Sp in adjacent and substantially parallel molle-like thread portions Ma, Mb, Mc, Md... are structured in such a way that the central axes of adjacent spacing portions Sp are shifted in the front-to-back direction of the cloth-like structure (generally, the central axes are shifted so as to curve slightly toward the front or back side), as shown schematically in Fig. 7, and adjacent spacing portions Sp overlap at the outer peripheries of the spacing portions Sp in a direction perpendicular to the front-to-back direction of the cloth-like structure and perpendicular to the axial direction of the molle-like thread portions, and there is likely to be a slight gap between the adjacent spacing portions Sp. In other words, if the cloth-like structure Fs1 is arranged along a horizontal plane, the front-to-back direction is the up-and-down direction, and the central axes of the spacing portions Sp are substantially horizontal. In such cases, in most cases, the central axis position of one gap portion Sp and the central axis position of the other adjacent gap portion Sp are misaligned in the vertical direction, and the outer peripheries of adjacent gap portions Sp that are arranged almost parallel to each other overlap by approximately 1 mm in the width direction, which tends to result in a slight gap between the two gap portions Sp.
[0040] As described above, the molle yarns that make up this molle yarn mat MT can exhibit excellent water absorption inward, so that the molle yarn portions that make up the spacing portions Sp in the structure between adjacent spacing portions Sp, and the molle yarn portions that make up the spacing portions Sp other than the structure between adjacent spacing portions Sp, can both effectively absorb moisture from objects that have moisture attached to them, such as wet feet placed on the mat.
[0041] Furthermore, the structure of adjacent spacing portions Sp (in which the central axis positions are shifted in the front-to-back direction of the fabric-like structure and which overlap at the outer peripheries of the spacing portions Sp in a direction perpendicular to the front-to-back direction of the fabric-like structure and perpendicular to the axial direction of the molle-like thread portion) prevents the decorative threads in both spacing portions from coming into close contact with each other and becoming highly dense, improving breathability on the front and back sides and increasing the drying efficiency of the molle-like thread portion. In particular, the tendency for there to be some gaps between adjacent spacing portions Sp leads to improved breathability and drying effects.
[0042] This mould thread mat MT is not covered on the back with a base fabric or other sheet body, and each mould thread part is exposed, which also allows for efficient drying of the mould thread parts that have absorbed moisture.
[0043] [2] The embodiments of the present invention will be further described, including embodiments other than those described above.
[0044] The cloth-like structure of the present invention is composed of a large number of absorbent mall-like thread portions that are adjacent to each other and arranged in a roughly parallel pattern, and are connected to each other at spaced connection positions in the central axis direction of each of the mall-like thread portions.
[0045] The cloth-like body, mat body or other object having the cloth-like structure of the present invention may be made entirely of the cloth-like structure, or may be made partially of the cloth-like structure.
[0046] The fabric-like structure of the present invention can be flexible, and is preferably capable of being made into a generally flat shape by being placed on a horizontal surface.
[0047] (1) Molded yarn
[0048] The water-absorbent molle thread that can constitute the molle thread portion has a large number of decorative threads that are arranged radially in the radial direction around its axis.
[0049] A preferred embodiment of the molle yarn is one in which the decorative yarns are densely packed in the circumferential direction, radially and approximately radially from the axis of the molle yarn, with the density increasing toward the inside and the density increasing in the axial direction. In this case, the cushioning properties of the molle yarn can be improved in the lateral direction, including the radial direction. Furthermore, if the decorative yarn is a monofilament with poor water absorption, the density of the decorative yarn increases toward the inside of the molle yarn, and the inward water absorption force acts due to capillary action.
[0050] The poorly water-absorbent monofilament may be, for example, a monofilament having a water absorption rate of 5% or less at 20°C and a relative humidity of 65%, or may be a polyester fiber, a polypropylene fiber, a polyethylene fiber, or a polyamide fiber. In order to enhance water absorption, the poorly water-absorbent monofilament may be, for example, a monofilament of 0.03 to 5 denier (preferably a monofilament of 3 denier or less, more preferably a monofilament of 1.5 denier or less, and even more preferably a monofilament of 0.8 denier or less).
[0051] By using a decorative thread having water absorption properties, the mall-shaped thread can be made water absorbent.
[0052] More specific examples of mall-shaped yarns include those formed by a core yarn and a number of decorative yarns (preferably decorative yarns of a certain length, e.g., decorative yarns of a certain length and of the same material and thickness) held transversely (preferably substantially perpendicularly) to the core yarn at the intermediate portion (preferably the center) of the decorative yarn in the longitudinal direction of the core yarn. For example, those formed by twisting around the core yarn, those formed by twisting together multiple core yarns each holding multiple decorative yarns, or those formed by twisting together multiple parallel portions each holding multiple decorative yarns around a core yarn. The core yarn can be made of multiple yarns that can hold the decorative yarns in a sandwiched state, or can be folded back to form multiple core yarns. The core yarn can be, for example, a monofilament core yarn with poor water absorption, similar to the decorative yarn, but is not limited to this.
[0053] (2) Examples of multiple molle-shaped thread portions that are adjacent to each other and approximately parallel to each other include: (a) multiple molle-shaped threads that are adjacent to each other and approximately parallel to each other as molle-shaped thread portions; and (b) a single molle-shaped thread that is folded back at regular or variable length intervals, and multiple portions between the starting end of the molle-shaped thread and the first folded back portion, between each folded back portion and the next folded back portion, and between the last folded back portion and the end of the molle-shaped thread that are adjacent to each other and approximately parallel to each other as molle-shaped thread portions.
[0054] However, the multiple adjacent, substantially parallel molle-shaped thread portions of the present invention are not limited to these. Furthermore, the length of each molle-shaped thread portion can be either uniform or variable. Furthermore, each molle-shaped thread portion can be identical or substantially identical in diameter, thickness and quality of constituent materials (decorative threads, core threads, etc.), density and color of the decorative threads, etc., and multiple types of molle-shaped thread portions can also be used.
[0055] Furthermore, the above (a)'s may be connected together, (b)'s may be connected together, or (a) and (b) may be connected in parallel (so that the molle-like thread portions of each fabric structure are in series) or in series (so that the molle-like thread portions of each fabric structure are in parallel). Such connection of fabric structures can be performed while each fabric structure is being produced (for example, by connecting the molle-like thread portions constituting each fabric structure in sequence adjacent to each other in a substantially parallel manner with threads or the like, and then joining the molle-like thread portions constituting adjacent fabric structures with threads or the like), or it can be performed after each fabric structure has been produced.
[0056] (3) A large number of adjacent, substantially parallel molle-shaped thread portions are connected to each other at connection positions spaced apart in the axial direction of each molle-shaped thread portion to form a cloth-like structure. This cloth-like structure differs from a woven fabric, which is a fabric made by combining threads vertically and horizontally.
[0057] The spaced connection positions in the axial direction of each molle-shaped thread part are preferably at regular intervals in the axial direction of each molle-shaped thread part, but are not limited to regular intervals. The intervals between the connection positions in the axial direction of each molle-shaped thread part, including cases where the intervals are regular or irregular, can be, for example, at least twice, preferably at least 2.5 times, and can be, for example, at most 5 times, the outer diameter of the gap between the spaced connection positions in the axial direction of the molle-shaped thread part, but are not limited to these.
[0058] The connection between the connection points of a large number of adjacent, approximately parallel molle-shaped thread portions can be achieved, for example, by a connecting thread or other connecting strip (for example, a synthetic fiber thread, a natural fiber thread, a thread with poor water absorption, a thread with at least relatively high water absorption, a molle-shaped thread that is thinner than the molle-shaped thread portions that are the subject of connection between the connection points (a molle-shaped thread with a diameter that is, for example, three-quarters or less, preferably one-half or one-third or less, of the diameter of the molle-shaped thread portion, and which is of the same material, structure and function as the molle-shaped thread, or a molle-shaped thread of a different material, structure or function), etc.).
[0059] As an example of connection, for example, a connecting thread T1 is used to bind a connecting position La1 of a mall-shaped thread portion Ma, and the connecting thread T1 is used to bind a connecting position Lb1 adjacent to the connecting position La1 of a mall-shaped thread portion Mb adjacent to the mall-shaped thread portion Ma. This allows the connecting positions La1 and Lb1 to be in contact or close to each other in a direction generally perpendicular to the axial direction of each mall-shaped thread portion.
[0060] In the mall-shaped thread portion, the cross sections of the connection positions (for example, the connection positions on both sides of the axially spaced apart portions) may be smaller than the cross sections of the spaces between the connection positions spaced apart in the axial direction. The cross sections of the connection positions including the connecting filaments or other threads may also be smaller than the cross sections of the spaces.
[0061] The fabric-like structure of the present invention can be obtained by connecting the joining positions La1, Lb1, Lc1, Ld1... of the numerous adjacent, substantially parallel molle-like thread portions Ma, Mb, Mc, Md... using thread T1 in this manner, and also similarly connecting the joining positions La2, Lb2, Lc2, Ld2..., La3, Lb3, Lc3, Ld3..., La4, Lb4, Lc4, Ld4..., La5, Lb5, Lc5, Ld5..., etc. at intervals in the respective molle-like thread portions Ma, Mb, Mc, Md... using threads T2, T3, T4, T5, etc., respectively.
[0062] In constructing the fabric-like structure of the present invention, the connection of the numerous adjacent, substantially parallel, mall-like thread portions is not necessarily limited to connection by a connecting strip such as a filament.
[0063] (4) The gaps between the spaced-apart connecting positions in the axial direction of each molle-shaped thread portion are adjacent to each other in a substantially parallel fashion between adjacent molle-shaped thread portions that are substantially parallel to each other.
[0064] In adjacent, nearly parallel shaped mall-like thread portions, the adjacent, nearly parallel shaped gaps have relatively low binding properties to each other, which prevents the central axis positions of the gaps from shifting in the front-to-back direction of the cloth-like structure, preventing the decorative threads in the gaps from coming into close contact with each other and resulting in a high density. It also makes it easier for the breathability on the front and back to be better (especially, there will be a slight gap between the gaps), which can also have the effect of increasing the drying efficiency of the mall-like thread portions.
[0065] The cross section of the mall-shaped thread portion, when assumed to be an approximately circular cross section, can have a diameter of, for example, 9 / 10 or less, 4 / 5 or less, or 7 / 10 or less of the majority of the spacing portion at the connection position, and can be, for example, 6 / 10 or more, but is not limited to this.
[0066] Such reduction in cross section at the connection location may occur over both the front and back sides of the textile-like structure at the connection location, by being bound and connected by filaments or other threads or by other connecting means, and may occur over the entire circumference or cross section of the connection location.
[0067] (5) The cloth-like structure of the present invention can have, in whole or in part, a structure in which the cross section of each molle-shaped thread portion is smaller at the connecting positions on both sides of the axial direction of the space portion than at the space portion, and in which, among the molle-shaped thread portions that are adjacent to each other and arranged substantially parallel to one another, the parallel adjacent space portions have center axis positions that are offset in the front-to-back direction of the cloth-like structure (the center axis position of one space portion is offset toward the front or back side from the center axis position of the other adjacent space portion [for example, roughly so that the center axis is curved slightly toward the front or back side]), and the adjacent space portions overlap at their outer peripheries in a direction perpendicular to the front-to-back direction of the cloth-like structure and perpendicular to the axial direction of the molle-shaped thread portion (when the cloth-like structure is along a horizontal plane, the outer peripheries of adjacent parallel space portions overlap in a planar view). (Preferably, a structure in which there is a slight gap between both space portions Sp). Furthermore, the other adjacent parallel spacing portions can be arranged so that the central axes of the spacing portions are in contact with each other without being misaligned in the front-to-back direction of the fabric-like structure, for example.
[0068] The absorbent moulded thread portion that constitutes the gaps in the structure between the adjacent gaps, and the absorbent moulded thread portion that constitutes the gaps other than those in the structure between the adjacent gaps, can both effectively absorb moisture from objects that have moisture attached to them, such as wet feet placed on the mat.
[0069] Furthermore, the structure of the adjacent gaps prevents the decorative yarns in the gaps from coming into close contact with each other and becoming highly dense, improving the breathability of the front and back surfaces and effectively increasing the drying efficiency of the mall-shaped yarn portion. In particular, the tendency for there to be some gaps between the adjacent gaps leads to improved breathability and drying properties.
[0070] When the cloth-like structure is arranged along a horizontal plane, the overlapping portion of the outer peripheries of adjacent parallel spacing sections in a planar view can be, for example, less than one-fourth or one-fifth of the outer diameter of the spacing section, but is not limited to this.
[0071] Furthermore, among the spacing portions, the number of spacing portions whose central axis positions are shifted between adjacent spacing portions on one or both sides in the front-to-back direction of the fabric-like structure and which overlap at their outer peripheries in a direction perpendicular to the front-to-back direction of the fabric-like structure and perpendicular to the axial direction of the molle-like thread portion can be one-fourth or more of all spacing portions, preferably one-third or more, more preferably one-half or more, even more preferably two-thirds or more, and even more preferably four-fifths or more.
[0072] Furthermore, among the spacing portions, the number of spacing portions whose central axis positions are shifted in the front-to-back direction of the fabric-like structure between adjacent spacing portions on both sides in parallel and which overlap at their outer peripheries in a direction perpendicular to the front-to-back direction of the fabric-like structure and perpendicular to the axial direction of the molle-like thread portion can be one-fourth or more of all spacing portions, preferably one-third or more, more preferably one-half or more, even more preferably two-thirds or more, and even more preferably four-fifths or more.
[0073] The mat body having a cloth-like structure of the present invention has a back side of the cloth-like structure that is not covered by a base fabric or other sheet body, so that the back side of the moisture-absorbing mould-like thread part is exposed, resulting in better drying efficiency.
